Guest Reviews
- Anne (9/5): It was an enjoyable comfortable stay with excellent, caring staff. -
- Gibson (10/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): -
- Roger (10/5): Will certainly stay again and tell friends - It was a good stay all round Nothing
- Rebecca (10/5): An unexpected delight - The whole place feels stylish whilst also feeling homely, it’s like an elegant warm hug. We were quite surprised as never been inside before. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff were excellent, showing us to our room and giving us all the info we needed. It’s so nice to actually have interactions with other humans as many places seem to choose a more automated self serve system which can feel cold. Nothing at all.
- Beryl (9/5): Very clean. Staff excellent. Huge comfortable bed. A relaxed & pleasant short break - Very good tasty & presented well. The entrance to the hotel from the car park. Corridor dimly lit & steep stairs. A lot of noise at night outside our room during the night. Room 109. Room excellent, comfy bed , high standard of cleanliness. Ground floor reception areas really lovely. Staff friendly & pleasant.
- David (9/5): -
- georgina (10/5): Enjoyed my stay - The staff was friendly and the room was clean and the breakfast was good price
- georgina (10/5): Enjoyed the stay - Friendly staff and the room are clean enjoyed the stay

- Caroline (10/5): This is our 2nd time here to celebrate birthday/anniversary for a short break away, never disappoints - Everything about the place was very clean & staff were so polite & friendly, nothing seemed too much for them, waiting staff & barstaff were lovely too, huge variety of breakfast lunches/dinners & snacks were excellent as well. Couldn't name one dislike.
- Pamela (9/5): The staff were very helpful - Room was very clean The lift was a bit old
- Linas Tamulis (9/5): -
- Martin (8/5): Great location - Sea front and sea view great. Right in the heart of everything Hastings has to offer. Breakfast great value. It was the first time that I was asked to pay on arrival. I was sure that via Bookings.com it said that payment was on departure.
I was not happy with this and would make me think twice about booking again
- Arnold (7/5): Rundum… ok - Lage, Personal, Service, Frühstück….
Hotel war alt aber sehr sauber und gut geführt Zimmer im 3OG mit sehr engen Treppen und Fluren, Aufzug umständlich erreichbar aber das ist in England häufig anzutreffen
- bohan (9/5): - Dog friendly all areas. Good bar and terrace overloʻking sea. Very friendly/helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Nothing much.
- Karen (8/5): -
- Alfie (8/5): -
- Gillian (9/5): Will def use this hotel again should I return to Hastings - Excellent location
Friendly and efficient staff
- Anna (9/5): - Well located. Sea view was nice. We had two rooms. The superior room was much better - renovated, spacious. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced. Our credit card didn't work (only in this hotel). They said it happens sometimes with EU cards, and a receptionist was hesitant to accept cash.
- Giancarlo (8/5): -
- Anthony (8/5): -
- Peter (8/5): Friendly Staff - Friendly staff. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the food looked ok. The stairs with self-closing doors. A nightmare getting down from the car park with our bags to reception then back upstairs to our room. I realise they are probably fire doors but you can get doors that stay open and shut if the fire alarm goes off.
- Ulrich (8/5): -
- Bob (8/5): - Great location. Big room with sea view.
- neil (5/5): -
- Hall (8/5): - Decorative Nothing
- Fred (10/5): -
- Peter (7/5): -
- sandra (8/5): Will definitely be returning - Great location, friendly staff, lovely outside terrace, great large walk in shower N/A
- Lisa (9/5): -
- Martin (8/5): Not as good as usual. - We have been coming to The White Rock for 20+ years so we like the familiarity and the location. The blind in the room did not work properly. There was no fridge in the room. The water in the tap/shower was very slow to warm. We had requested 2 beds but there was only one.
- Ria (8/5): Everything we needed, staff wonderful, will definitely return - It was clean, had everything you needed and in a great location Stairs were rather narrow and steep in places but a lift was available
- Adrian (9/5): Stayed one night - exceeded our expectations with large comfy bed and excellent cafe. - Staff friendly and accommodating. Cafe and bar excellent value with a good choice of options we had evening meal and breakfast. Flexible in approach and able to accommodate well my wife being vegetarian which not all institutions do. The property is over 3 floors with narrow stairs and corridors - if you come in the car park entrance leave cases on landing when checking in as its difficult to navigate the corridor. There is a lift - v cosy for 2!
- Kate (6/5): Solid hotel for a few days - Stayed there for a few nights with my Husband and Son whilst visiting family. Staff very friendly at reception and in the restaurant. The decoration in the main reception/bar and restaurant is modern. The bedrooms are comfortable but require some modernisation. Hotel convenient to shops, restaurants, bars, beach and next door to the theatre. Couldn’t use the kettle for tea/coffee as it had heavy limescale in it. So just order coffee and hot drinks at bar instead.
- SHIRLEY (8/5): A great value stay in a great location - Friendly, affordable, comfortable. Lovely shower. Really good value breakfast cooked to order. On-site site parking Nothing
- Jennifer (8/5): - Sea view, room was nice . No fridge in room. And maybe a light in the cupboard for the tea and coffee .
- Sue (10/5): Lovely hotel in a great location - It’s a lovely hotel N:A
- Barbara (10/5): Lovely comfortable stay. Perfect location! - Everything! Nothing!
- Roy (9/5): -
- Barnaby (10/5): - Sea view, friendly staff and sunshine!
- James Tucker (5/5): Great location but a little tired, could do with a refresh. - Great location right on the sea front, we also had a sea facing room which was lovely to wake up to wake up to, especially with. sun shining as it was during out stay.
Staff very welcoming, bar OK clean and tidy. Hotel is a bit tired, could do with a refresh.
Very busy at breakfast as it also open to the general public, we had a long wait, I think we were forgotten about. Have to order at the bar and then wait for your meal to come out.
- Mandy (7/5): Lovely hotel but needs a lick of paint . - Didn't breakfast
- Lauren (8/5): -
- Jade (10/5): We would definitely stay here again, dog friendly and lovely rooms - The location was great, the staff were really friendly Nothing
- Guest (9/5): -
- veronica (10/5): Relaxing - Very welcoming from the minute we arrived Everything you need
- Darren (7/5): -
- Trevor (10/5): Great value for money, top standards and friendly staff in a great location on the seafront - It’s in a great location on the seafront and right next door to the theatre where I was booked in to see a show! It only has a very limited parking choice but has value on street parking which sadly does not all for parking over 4 hours. Not much use if you want to park up for the weekend
- Edward (9/5): Welcoming atmosphere, efficient service , and perfect for a quick or longer visit . - The room and ensuite were very clean and comfortable. The room was at the back of the hotel which was my choice, there are rooms at the front facing the sea and the pier.
The Staff were extremely friendly and efficient, I will use this hotel next time I'm visiting my friends. I would have like to stayed longer, but next time I'm down this way I will.
- Rob (8/5): -
- Steven (10/5): Really enjoyable Easter weekend. - Lovely spacious room, very clean and comfortable beds, would have like a walk in shower but not a problem. Lovely seaview bar and restaurant. Nothing really, our room at the back was overlooked by a car park.
- Sally (7/5): Suited my purpose nicely - Location and friendly Room was a little dated and tired but great view
- Karen (8/5): - Lovely room No rails on bath. Resterant staff gave my hunand wrong veg he asked for cauliflower and carrots as he does not like brocoli, but his plate arrived woth brocoli and carrots so it had to go back to be changed
- Karen (8/5): -
- Philip (8/5): -
- Mark (9/5): Terrific seafront views, comfy beds and late bar. - Great location on the seafront , nice lively bar and restaurant. Comfy bed.
- banks (5/5): -
- Andrea (9/5): Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will surely be coming back - We keep coming back to the White Rock Hotel, great location, lovely sea view from our room and the terrace of the hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast
- Shyh Min (7/5): Amazing break away from London - It was very near to town centre and the beachfront, all by walking distance Slightly tight spaces especially stairway
- Louisa (8/5): Friendly staff, clean building and lovely rooms. - The staff were extremely friendly, loved the location too. Unfortunately because the building is older, the walls are paper thin and the floorboards are creaky. And my neighbours were exceptionally loud so I didn’t sleep very well.
- William (4/5): friendly but disorganised, borderline amateurish - The staff were generally friendly and helpful. We did not have breakfast. The bathroom in our room had been recently refurbished, and the shower was very easy to use. And we had a sea view! We were there on an unusually cold two days, and we could not turn on the in-room radiator because the system had been switched off. The coffee and biscuits were not replaced correctly, and when we asked for more we got loads of stuff we did not need. The hotel is badly in need of refurbishment, and staying on the third floor we had to use a tiny lift.
- Terence (8/5): -
- Alison (10/5): A really good stay and would definitely stay again - From the moment we arrived to the time we left all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The evening meal was very nice and the staff at the bar gave some good information regarding the town and events.
The breakfast was really good, plenty of choice and reasonable price.
- Sue (10/5): Excellent hotel. Staff incredible - Location perfect. Clean, but beyond doubt the making of this hotel is its staff. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them. They go out their way to help . Only small niggle was our room did have a slight toilet smell and was quite hot.
- James In London (10/5): -
- peter (5/5): Booked for 2 nights, so upset with experience, lost £129 and went home one day early - The shower The bed was hard as a rock, the room floor slanted, had to hold on to bed in case rolled off, I kid you not, tv did not work, ask to change batteries, which we did , still could not change channel, parking was a joke, could not get in car park at back, filled with locals instead of hotel guests, no parking out front, and this was off season, had to park underground car park across st, and had to drag luggage up stairs, across busy street, anyway you get the hint
- Terrina (4/5): - Location
Clean
Friendly staff, especially the reception staff
Breakfast was nice The shower didn't heat up
Creaking floor boards outside our room (308) was bad. I felt like the wall was shaking as people walking down the slope
The rooms really need up dating9
- Lynda (10/5): Great stay in Hastings for the weekend to see live bands - Great location we had a sea view. Lovely cafe bar area with outdoor seating. As it’s an old Hotel floors a bit creaky noise can be heard easily.
- Melissa (10/5): A friendly and welcoming hotel in a great location. - Very friendly staff who went above and beyond to help us. Nothing.
- Brian (10/5): Brillant - A great place to stay central to the town
- Louise (4/5): I’ve never stayed in a place the staff was great but a lousy hotel you need the shower sorted I.n 210 I didn’t think it - Not quiet Creaky floor boards never slept outside was continuous noise in
- Roy (9/5): - Very helpful and fierndly staff, food and drink throughout the day at reasonable prices. The bar served real ale. Bus stop outside door, with regular service, including going directly to the train station. Plenty of seating areas both inside and outside (with a sea view) of the hotel
- Henry (8/5): - Staff were nice location is excellent Narrow stairs not so good when you have a disabilit
- martin (9/5): Proper English seaside hotel ticks all the boxes. - The room was on 3rd floor with a sea facing view. A neat and tidy room, clutter free (no unnecessary cushions or decor). comfy bed. Great shower. Perfect location. On the whole much better than I expected. Will definitely stay again.
- meyrick (3/5): Not worth the money - Nothing Lack of fine touches for an expensive room. Tea facilities in a cupboard!!! Breakfast was extra and expensive and had to pay more for a flat white. Shouldn't have to pay for it in the first place when the room was £140. Bath had gouges in it and very dated. Staff had no uniform, dressed in jeans and t-shirts. Very unprofessional i think for such supposedly high end hotel.
- Roma (10/5): White Rock - The location was excellent, all staff were friendly. Nothing
- randall (10/5): Pleasant stay. Well worth the cost . - Staff. Were. Welcoming , friendly, room was great ,just what we wanted . Location wonderful . We will return . Nothing .. loved it .
- Sandra (10/5): -
- Chris (9/5): Such a pleasure to be treated as if you matter, by all staff. - Our third visit, the staff from housekeeping, restaurant, bar and reception, are all without fail, polite, helpful and make the hotel what it is. Simply a pleasure to stay at, and most certainly another visit due. Your staff do you proud, thank you. One minor thing, for my disabled wife, the entrance steps are an effort. Costly I know, but taking away just a small portion of the outside sitting area, and installing a disabled lift would make a major difference. I did see other elderly people struggling with the steps.
- Linda (7/5): Weekend stay - All staff excellent could not do enough for us food basic but very good Been to hotel a few times before rooms fine but communial area's need attention as carpets etc should be replaced
- Janice (8/5): -
- Mary (8/5): I had a pleasant stay - Cafe bar Parking very small carpark
- David (7/5): Pleasant place to stay - Good bar area and friendly, helpful staff .
Room was ok , and nice sea view Hall way floor was a bit uneven and creaky. Decor was tired .
- Amanda (9/5): -
- Neil (6/5): Pleasant seaside hotel - Room was clean and adequate for our stay. Staff were really welcoming and helpful and breakfast was really reasonable and tasty. Lift to get to third floor was incredibly tight for two people so we took the stairs which was a real rabbit warren to negotiate. It’s a typical seaside hotel - perfectly adequate for a one night stay, clean and decent. If you go without high expectation of luxury, you won’t be disappointed.
- Simon (7/5): Great location, rooms a bit tired. - Great location. General areas of the hotel good. Had a seaview room which as nice. Rooms a bit tired. Beside lights didn't work. Heating in the room didn't work. Thankfully a heater was available.
- Abby (9/5): It was better than expected - Being close to the pier and food was ideal, also the rooms were extremely clean and comfy. You can hear everything that happens in the hallway however after a long day falling asleep was easy in the comfy big bed! Would definitely stay here again for longer.
- Chris (6/5): Basic but convenient -
- Steve (10/5): Topcat - Staff, location, Clean Dress of staff at breakfast
- Victoria (8/5): Lover our stay very relaxing - Lovely staff very welcoming and friendly Cold room
- Barbara (7/5): -
- Philip (7/5): - Clean pleasant helpful staff and bang next to white rock theatre A little creaky i understand its an old building and very little van be done but you could hear every footstep from room above
- Laura (9/5): -
- Nancy (10/5): Was a need and will come back in the summer - Automatically made to feel comfortable loved the sea view and the shower the room was clean staff was great the cleaners was lovely All I could think of was the gravey wasn't thick enough but that's safe to say it's nothing!!
- Teejay (10/5): -
- Nataliia (10/5): -
