- Ian (6/5): Away for work - This is a very old building, with steps and low door heights in some parts of the building. Great greeting from the owner. My room which was called the Tudor Room, had a large ensuite, which had another door into the hallway (which I did not know at time, and during the night someone used the bathroom, when I was in bed). The room had a portable heater which I used at night. Milk for drinks in room is in a little fridge in hallway - would have been nice to be told this. Late in the evening, someone (another guest perhaps) did try and come into my room. The door did not have a key for the lock, but did have a hook, so I could secure the door. The wifi was good and there was no TV in my room. Free parking out in courtyard. Bed was comfortable, but high up, so much so there was a step stool to use to get into bed. I did not get to have breakfast as I had to leave just after 7am.
- Paul (8/5): “All you can do is step back in time” Kylie - Amazing country manor with eclectic mix of decor.Rooms were very unique and of period .All needs catered for and David a super host who did everything he could to make our stay the best .
From the first minute we walked in we were taken back in time .Funky sloping floors and beamed rooms .Coffee and Tea facilities in room .Our bathroom was not ensuite but down a corridor.Bit spooky at 3am but no
Issues.Fresh milk for morning cuppa not long life pods, nice touch.
Piano room and library interesting and decorated in beautiful antique furniture that again made me feel I was a “Lady of the manor”.
Breakfast perfect and any combination was freely accommodated.
What can I say about David ,”a gentleman and a scholar “. The prefect host .
Just to shout out for “The Carpenter’s Arms” fab and few yards up the road .Great food and hospitality. We are there 2nights on the trot and they even had some live music which was a bonus .

It was a special treat to stay here and in a 4 poster bed in such a historic room - a relief not to have a tv in the room although internet is available .The private shower/wash room although down the corridor was clean practical and attractive - looking onto the garden The house is a very short walk from the local station and easily accessible

- Steven J (10/5): Great old world feel. - Very good. Excellent breakfast cooked to perfection, crispy bacon and sausages. So easy to get wrong. Host David very pleasant. Would stay again 😊👍
- wendy (8/5): - This is a quite amazing 600 year old house. I stayed in the King Charles room and it was like going back in time! The bed was extremely comfortable and there was a massive bath in which to luxuriate. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked. It was a self check-in process, but the instructions were easy to follow and the host was happy to chat over breakfast. The only drawback was that the hotel is in a very small village and there was nowhere to eat on a Sunday night unless you have transport. Highly recommended.
- Andrew (10/5): - A Wonderful experience overall, proprietor David excellent

- David (10/5): Outstanding - Just like being at a National Trust property, except you get to sleep in the bed!
Fantastic breakfast, friendly check in and great personal service.
Will definitely stay again when in the area
