Guest Reviews
- Kai (6/5): Has potential - We stayed in the cottage. The location was beautiful and the view breathtaking. Our host Jeff was lovely, prepared a light healthy breakfast each day and always had a recommendation for our day trips.
At first glance, the cottage was nicely furnished and neat. However, we were disappointed and felt uncomfortable due to the lack of cleanliness of the bathroom, kitchenette and cabinets. The drinking glasses had obvious marks from previous guests. A dirty vacuum cleaner was in the middle of the bedroom closet.
If you plan to arrive by a nice car, you should know that Whitford House can only be reached by an unpaved road.
- Florent (10/5): the best BB in the Vermont.. - this stay in this B&B was the best we did. The hoste were very welcome and kind . the house extremely warma nd confortable , and the breakfast great ...
So the view of this house is fantastic, with also lot of visits around , hiking , and close by Burlington a great city.. i extremely recommend for this nice , quiet place and warm welcome
- stephen (10/5): - Beautiful guest house - spacious with modern amenities but old, rural charm in keeping with the country setting. Extensive grounds furnishing privacy and Mountain View’s. Attentive host. Delicious breakfast provided.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful scenery, comfortable bed, great tub! Generous hosts. Loved everything about our stay!
- Val (10/5): - Superb hosts and home. Loved everything about it. Beautiful location. Gracious thoughtful hosts. Charm. they even got me some gluten free bread for toast in the morning! We will be back!
- Jaclyn (8/5): - Our trip started off a little rocky since Orbitz has the wrong address listed for the Whitford B&B. However, when we called Jeff he was helpful in guiding us to the correct location and understanding of our tardiness for check in. The farmhouse itself is fantastic; Jeff explained some of the history behind the farmhouse and his future plans for the property. Breakfast was all organic products and I thoughouly enjoyed the steel cut oats with added fresh vermont maple syrup. Jeff and his wife, were great hosts proving all we could ask for, with top quality vermont products. It was a lovely weekend, that went by too quickly! Thank you for having us stay in your unique and amazing property!
- Jan (10/5): - Lovely light filled, secluded guest house with magnificent views of fields and mountains yet near to activities and restaurants at Middlebury or Vergennes.
- LORETTA (8/5): Beautifully remote - A delightful Vermont farm out in the country. The facility is very modern and the trees and view were wonderful. It's fairly far from Vergennes, at least a 15 min drive. Otherwise it's a great stay.
- AmyBeaton (10/5): - Excellent in every way! We were just looking for a small getaway and this fit the bill perfectly. Gorgeous, clean, off the beaten path (but not too much), relaxing.
- David (10/5): - Nice, authentic farm house B&B with incredible views of the mountains!
- Cynthia (10/5): - Words cannot possibly do justice to this picturesque b&b! It was so refreshing to have even lovelier accommodations than advertised on the website. Perhaps the only thing more charming than our room itself were our hosts, Jeff & Mary Jane, I hope we have the opportunity to visit again, should we find ourselves in VT!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely house, great hosts - Whitford House took me a little work to find — I drove past the driveway — but it was well worth it. Jeff was a fantastic host, very welcoming, helpful, and genuinely interested. The house is beautifully updated and maintained, and it was a pleasure to stay there. Highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): A wonderful and charming time. - It was a beautiful and peaceful setting. Two nights there and I felt more relaxed than I have in quite some time. I will definitely be back.
- BritinChester (10/5): So attentive and what a view - After an unexpected long drive from Nova Scotia I was looking forward to some peace and calm. From the first contact to saying farewell Jeffrey was very considerate and thoughtful. I left fully charged after an excellent nights sleep in a very comfy bed. Thank you.
- Neal (10/5): - A great off the beaten track getaway spot.
- Eileen (10/5): A little slice of heaven - This place is a little slice of heaven. Beautiful house and carriage house, beautiful location and scenery. We stayed in the carriage house. It was so clean and lovely with windows all around. Sweet gardens and mountain views. The bed is super comfortable and the host goes out of his way to accommodate. Loved listening to old time records on the vintage stereo system. Both the little city of Vergennes and Middlebury are nearby. We had great meals at the local restaurants in both towns. We hope to go back again over the next few years while our son is at UVM. Perfect!
