- Flavia (10/5): - We had a fantastic stay at the Channels. The room, the breakfast and the staff were absolutely brilliant. The room was immaculately clean and everything around us looked prestin. Lovely location in the beautiful countryside. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed every minute of it. We'll definitely becoming back. The whole experience was just fabulous.

I had ordered coffee to come after our lunch, but when I came to remind them for it, 5 minutes to 3pm (when they're supposed to close), she was adamant that they're closing in a few minutes and can't make the coffee even though there were still many people in the cafe. With a bit of convincing, they made one for me, which took them less than a minute.

Breakfast was well cooked with good options. The food in the restaurant was to a high standard and some slightly unusual choices, which is good.

It was cold in the room, especially in the bathroom which was very cold. There was a heater in the main room which was needed to support the lack of heat on the rooms.
- Peter (9/5): - Fourth time staying @ Channels for me, & as always did not dissappoint. Stayed in the Oak Suite, absolutely fabulous could not fault the room in any way whatsoever. Staff extremely friendly & helpful at all times. Grounds staff do an excellent job in keeping the outside spaces immaculate. Would highly recommend a stay here to anyone contemplating a visit. The Brasserie by evening for Meals & Drinks again was exceptional. Food quality & service was really good, However we dined on both the Friday & Saturday evening in the Restaurant the food was very very good. One observation & criticism would be towards the younger members of waiting on staff, not sure if it,s lack of training or experience or a little lack of the two together but we were left almost 20 mins after being seated before we were asked what we would like to drink.! , also on the Saturday evening we had 2 water glasses on our table but no water.!! Not acceptable really, i had steak & was not asked how i liked it cooked!! & was not given a steak knife to eat it with. My partner observed 2 female members of staff stood at the Bar area chatting away to each other but not really paying much attention to what stage the diners were at regarding finishing starters, or Mains etc something i would expect of a Restaurant charging high end prices for high end cuisine. All in all a great culinary experience only slightly let down by perhaps the odd 1 or younger members of staff.!!

Staff were so friendly and helpful, check in was quick and painless. Like how tucked away it was, felt like we were out in the middle of the countryside. Dinner was delicious, and the vibes in the restaurant were cosy and welcoming. Bit of a long wait for breakfast. Another table ordered at the same time as us and had theirs served long before us. Was delicious when it did arrive.

- Layla (9/5): Overall excellent and would happily go back. - Our room was very clean and laid out really well with a very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and good storage space. Very quiet location and very good breakfast. The cafe where breakfast is served is quite small and was fully booked on the Sunday morning so had to go back 15 minutes later which was an inconvenience.

- Megan (10/5): The room was clean and so comfortable - The dressing gowns in the bedroom are such a lovely touch. The hotel excels itself in making sure that everything is perfect. The fact that there are USB ports in the bedroom means that they really do cater for everybody’s needs.

Stylish decor with a touch of luxury - really good value for money. Excellent customer service - reconfiguring the room to our needs, clear instructions. Loved the Christmas decorations! Nice grounds and footpaths on the doorstep for getting a dose of fresh air and exercise. The room was too hot at night with no obvious way of turning down the heating, and no window that could safely be opened for ventilation (the only windows that open are large enough for someone to climb through). The breakfast was fine and understand why single-person portions of cereal, jam and butter are convenient, especially when short-staffed over the Christmas break. But would have preferred bigger containers of muesli/granola to decant from (less wasteful) and also yoghurt and more fruit selection. But that's just personal preference - for anyone who enjoys a cooked breakfast the selection was great.
