Guest Reviews
- John (8/5): Worth it for the food - Excellent food Uncomfortable bed
- Patricia (2/5): Short - Food good with good selection. View over looking a washing machine dump ground.
Shower was over a bath which being elderly was difficult to get in & out of. Room decoration with peeling paper, dated.

The hotel was great, exceptionally busy lunch time made us have dinner at the hotel. Fantastic meal, and the staff couldnt do more for us. Great room, fab view and very quiet.

- Natalie (10/5): Cute little place, loved the tv in the bathroom and the whirlpool baths - Really welcoming and friendly, nothing too much trouble Old fashioned but I quite liked that style
- maureenpG4271DW (10/5): Great food - We only booked for lunch ,been many times never had a bad meal .very attentive staff ,meal was great ,beautifully presented , drinks arrived very quick , lunch was amazingly good congrats to chef ,in a very busy restaurant ,thoroughly enjoyed ,only niggle table for two offered a bit wonky ,,so moved to another table ,,thank you ,a great lunch and very attentive staff ,we’ll be back ,
- Mark (3/5): Not great - Close to our venue for family dinner Tired; no staff on arrival; whe he did arrive there was spilt orange juice all over the reception desk; room was hot
- Paul (7/5): - Friendly welcoming staff. Great location, within easy walk to West Bay beach. Secure private parking. Spa bath was a bonus. Evening meal on our first night and both breakfasts were very good. General decor was very dated and felt like it needs renovating. Cleanliness in the room could have been better, black mould on window frames and dust and cobwebs covering the light fitting was off putting.
- Simon (8/5): - evening meal was cooked to a high standard. Bedroom was comfortable & all facilities there, bathroom was of a high standard
- Journey473023 (10/5): Great Service by host at Hadden House Hotel, West Bay. - Just spent a great weekend escape staying at Hadden House Hotel in West Bay. Excellent food and staff including the host (Paul) who went the extra mile and went out to buy me my favourite starter (Camembert) . Fantastic service all weekend.
Thank you.
- Elizabeth (9/5): - Telly in the bathroom and a whirlpool bath
- Sylvia (9/5): Very comfortable, we'll stay again when were next in Bridport. - The staff were all friendly and helpful and there was a welcoming family run feel. The hotel was quiet and relaxed which we appreciated. Also loved the Christmas decorations. The jets in the bath added an extra element of luxury, the room and hotel were warm and cozy without being showy! Maybe an extra scoop of Coffee in the cafetière at Breakfast? But otherwise the breakfast was great value and very tasty.
- Robert (7/5): Rather old world vibe down by the sea. -
- Terry (10/5): Peaceful and gratifying - Breakfast and dinner excellent menu outstanding Some times the weather
- Robert (5/5): Memorable for the wrong reasons. But mainly down to booking.com. - Didn’t want to pay extra for breakfast as room rate higher than expected We asked booking.com for twin beds via the option offered. Hotel booking form showed this request to hotel was twin OR double. Would not have booked a double. Decor very busy and dated. Shower over bath had no storage for soap etc.
- karen (8/5): A lovely night away. - The breakfast was brilliant plenty to eat. We had Sunday lunch which was the best we have had, it was like home cooking. The puddings were huge and lovely. If we have to mention anything it would be the bed, very soft like sleeping on a water bed my husband slept at the other end of the bed because he felt like he was falling. The hotel was great other than that and we will come back again. We have been holidaying in Westbay for years and have had Sunday lunch a few times years ago, they did not disappoint this time either. New mattresses would be on the cards now, the old fashion style is what makes the hotel, don't make it modern.
- Roger (10/5): It is a great hotel to stay in - Breakfast was delicious. It would add to the experience if there was a patio at the back with sunloungers
- Gary (9/5): A pleasant break which we enjoyed even more by staying at the Haddon House. - The room and its facilities met our needs, there was a great view from the room we were given. the breakfast listing had a good selection. Nothing that comes to mind.
- John (9/5): - All N/a
- Norma (8/5): - Welcoming staff and clean All good

- Samantha (7/5): Very friendly, comfortable and welcoming. - Location was good , bedroom was very nice and spacious, jet bath was amazing . Breakfast was very nice and a good price . Would recommend having a meal it was lovely. Can’t say there was anything I didn't like.
- Travel61990878159 (10/5): Fantastic Amazing - Absolutely fantastic stay in this wonderful charming family feeling hotel. Super clean room, friendly staff and amazing food.
I would definitely come back.
- Chris (10/5): Perfect from start to finish. - Full of Xmas decorations looked really lovely. Room was great comfy bed. Breakfast was probably the best full English breakfast I’ve had compared to other hotels in this country for a few years. Owner and his staff were fantastic. With their professional service and how welcoming they made you feel. Could not find anything I was not happy with.
- Eps (10/5): Excellent - Location, the staff, the comfort of the utilities Nothing
- Catriona (10/5): Warm, welcoming, friendly, delicious food. - The staff were incredibly welcoming. Warm and relaxed atmosphere. Dinner and breakfast both delicious. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Completely quiet despite a big sparkly Christmas party happening downstairs. Great nights sleep, definitely be visiting again. Nothing.
- Virginia (10/5): -
- O4152NYwillp (10/5): Excellent - Friendly, cozy and comfortable accommodation.
Excellent Sunday Lunch.

- John (9/5): 3 night stay - Everything There wasn't anything we didn't like
- Andy (10/5): - Staff were so helpful and professional Nothing
- Mandeep (9/5): -
- Rosamond (8/5): We both had a very good stay and enjoyed the food except the boring boiled plain vegetables which were served with an ot - Characterful and good location Nothing a good view looking at a pile of old washing machines in a yard
- Ifan (8/5): - Clean, nice staff, bed was comfy, good breakfast Just felt the hotel was a bit dated. Old carpets throughout. Having a bath whilst watching the tv may have been considered posh 40 yrs ago, but not now
- peterlH8439LT (10/5): Best Hotel ever - We had stayed here before and really enjoyed it and we went with friends this time. I'm happy to report that the same high standards are still there. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious and we didn't need to eat out at all. There's plenty of car-parking and it's only about 200 metres from West Bay with lovely walks. Highly recommended.
- Lily (10/5): Loved it. - Traditional hotel with excellent amenities and very good food.
- JUDITH (7/5): Great location with excellent food but looking rather dated internally - The hotel was in a great location. The food served was excellent and plentiful. The waiters particularly Perry I think his name was extremely efficient and worked tirelessly. The property is looking a bit dated inside and the rooms were very average sized with a small rather tired bed
- Paul (8/5): - All very good most enjoyable
- Marie (8/5): - Clean room bathroom could do with some cleaning, ie cobwebs and paint peeling on ceiling. Would be nice to have some bottles of water in room.
Staff was very helpful and friendly.cannot fault breakfast was offered any thing you liked on menu.
- Angela (9/5): -
- colini268 (10/5): A place to stay in West Bay - On a mini break 4 nights stay, our second visit and they did not disappoint, family run hotel with friendly staff and excellent rooms and beautifully clean.
The food served by extremely polite and well trained staff and compliments to the cook who produced quality meals, the Sunday roast was excellent, my wife and I recommend the hotel and will be staying there again in the future.
- peter (8/5): a very enjoyable stay - food was excellent we found the bed a little uncomfortable - mattress
- robert (8/5): enjoyable - Staff we friendly and helpful.
Food was excellent.
rooms were clean. certain items in the room did not function.
A handyman to keep electrical and plumbing up to date would be useful.
- CLIVE (10/5): - food
- 370janew (6/5): Nor for us - Not Clean enough in various parts of the hotel.
Very outdated room. Not keen on it I’m
Afraid.
Food was fabulous though.

- Marilyn (10/5): A short relaxing, comfortable stay. - For a small hotel, there was an amazing choice of breakfast. At night, the area surrounding the hotel was very quiet. N/A.
- clive (10/5): an area we know well and having found this hotel will stay again and fully recommend it - very pleasantly surprised with the hotel and would fully recommend a stay there.perfect for access to the beach ,harbour and local amenities.ideally situated to explore the coastline and many localised tourist spots.the staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times.only booked for breakfast at the hotel as meeting friends but the breakfast was excellent with a good choice and all served at the table. generally very happy and no problems
- Elizabeth (9/5): -
- Gavin (9/5): all good - breakfast cheese at right temperature! very soft mattress
- Arthur (8/5): Haddon House is a lovely place to stay when exploring the Dorset coast. - Haddon House is in a great location very close to Bridport Harbour and the village of Bridport. It serves good food for breakfast, with plenty of options and lots to eat. We also had dinner in the hotel and the food was very good. It has a lovely bar to help unwind after a day of sightseeing. It would be nice to have a barista style coffee with breakfast
- Alecksey (10/5): - Location is exelent. Bad wine in the restaurant. Waitress has no idea how to serve the wine.
- Stacey (8/5): - We liked the tv in the bathroom
- paul (8/5): -
- Julia (9/5): Comfortable stay - Very friendly staff. Excellent food. Well equipped, comfortable room
- CLIVE (10/5): -

- Steve (9/5): -
- Heather (8/5): Quiet clean spacious bedroom and bathroom, friendly, helpful staff, easy parking, short walk to town - The duvet was too heavy and hot, but when mentioned, a sheet and fleece replaced it well. Jacuzzi bath looked interesting, but I couldn't see how to lower the plug to fill the bath, and we were always rushing off to meet family or coming back very tired and I would forget to ask what to do!
- Nichola (10/5): Lovely one night stay, wish it could have been longer! - Breakfast was beautifully cooked and great selection! The beds others in reviews found they were too soft…they were perfect..so comfy! Staff were very helpful and friendly! Nothing :)
- dawnpH8608AX (10/5): Fabulous - Lovely room, I messed up our booking, the management were fantastic and changed our room swiftly to a twin. Food is amazing, compliments to the chef and table staff. Thank you so, so much

- Susan (9/5): Lovely overnight stay in a very comfortable hotel - this was my second visit and wont be the last. - Lovely big room, very comfortable beds. Nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the room . we didn't eat dinner in the main restaurant as we wanted to have dinner in the village but the menu looked very good. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. My grandson loved the whirlpool bath and TV in the bathroom! There was nothing we didn't like.
- Caron (8/5): -
- Robert (10/5): - hotel was superb as was the jacuzzi bath. food was very good but as with all hotels approx 10 % dearer than the local pubs
- Martin (9/5): Great short break . - Hotel was very beautiful, staff excellent very friendly One very minor thing no blackout curtains
- Kay (10/5): Wonderful - The warmest of welcomes
.. Nothing
- Andrew (10/5): Short stay was perfect in every way -
- Daniel (8/5): This hotel is a gem ! - This hotel is full of character, with a quirky charm that makes you feel right at home from the moment you step into the cozy lobby. The service is exceptional, the food is delicious, and it's great to have the bar open for drinks in the evening. The mattress was too soft, making it difficult to sleep well. The two pillow options provided were also a bit worn out.
- Simon (9/5): -
- Harald (9/5): - Etwas am Ortsrand aber trotzdem nicht weit bis zur Küste.
Gutes Restaurant im Haus.
- Claire (9/5): - Amazing food, all the staff were friendly and helpful.
- Stefan (10/5): -
- Marcello (9/5): - Hotel intimo,vecchio stile,vicino al mare.Gestione familiare e clima accogliente.Ottima colazione!

Very kind staff
- david (10/5): Absolutely wonderful, will definitely go to this hotel again - Breakfast was excellent, good table service, polite waitresses The coffee !!!! Too weak
- Tez (9/5): - The Hotel was in a great location for exploring the surrounding area. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The food including breakfast was exceptional. The room was comfortable and spacious and even included an iron and ironing board. Our room had a jacuzzi bath tub which was a nice surprise. Plenty of wardrobe space and drawer space too. Quite frankly there wasn't anything we didn't like..
- Lynette (9/5): Short stay as just a stop over but relaxing and invigorating - Allowed to order sandwiches at 18.00pm. Had my favourite alcohol free lager. Relaxing atmosphere, the high backed chairs in the bar were extremely comfortable. Everything we needed in the bedroom, very nicely set out with towels folded on the bed and a biscuit on the top.
And a fan….., We will not hesitate to stay again but make it clear that we would like a ground floor room. Great breakfast! View….!
Mattress a little soft for me.
- Michelle (8/5): Good place for seeing West Bay - The location and plenty of parking The beds were on the small side and the bar shut early
