Guest Reviews
- Anthony (10/5): Perfect! - Yet another fabulous stay at melford house. The rooms are spotless, and generous in size. The area is very quiet and a good nights rest. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order and was also very good
- Cary (10/5): - Nice location, great breakfast & a bonus of evening meals. Everyone very friendly & welcoming. A very pleasant stay.
- PETER (10/5): - Quiet and friendly home from home; this accommodation is a safe haven to enjoy with good people at the helm.
Many thanks
- Jonathan (8/5): - Our welcome was very hospitable. Our bedroom (No 1) was smaller than the typical hotel king size bedroom but nevertheless very comfortable, plenty of storage and well equipped with a recently refurbished bathroom en suite. Breakfast was OK though we did have to forage for items in the fridge , cutlery etc. No lounge facility dedicated for guests in the main house but unusual and pleasant bar/tv area in separate outbuilding a short walk away. Located in residential area but close to centre of town. Adequate parking area. All in all good value for money.
- James (10/5): Highly recommend - Clean and comfortable room and the hotel is set in a quiet location near the town centre. Will and Chess are charming hosts and were very friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. Nice little bar also offering a good selection of food. Nice breakfast too. I highly recommend this place.
- Julia (10/5): Melford House - Overnight stay for a business trip. Beautiful room, cosy and clean. Lovely breakfast, freshly cooked and first class customer service. Thank you.
- Bharat (10/5): - Convenience for attending events at the Farnborough Exhibition Centre
- Anthony (8/5): - Beautiful house in a quiet, upmarket neighbourhood, with easy access to major roads. The two rooms we were given were themed i.e. French style and nods to the space age (Tim Peake stayed here and was the influence for that room design). Excellent facilities, with a great bar area, lovely lounge area, and small dining area. All you need for a pleasant, quiet stay. Will, the owner, is very passionate about the hotel and that is obvious in the care and attentiveness he shows to his customers. Definitely made a pleasant change from the usual national hotel chains. We will stay here again when here on business.
- Christine (10/5): - Friendly hosts. Stylish room and good breakfast.
- William (10/5): Lovely stay - Loved the decor, although as my wife had recently had an eye operation she found it a little bright, but loved it all in all. Everywhere was spotless and if we had stayed longer I'm sure we would have loved the bar in the garden. I only popped in to pay the bill but it is lovely. Owner and partner were delighful and very friendly. Breakfast great!
- Kit Ching (10/5): Enjoyable stay - Warm welcome by the owner and sparkling clean of our room. Very thoughtful touch with chocolate and chips in the room . Tasty breakfast. Would recommend highly.
- Byoungjune (8/5): - Traditional English house.
Well furnished and pretty decorations.
- Kelvin (10/5): - Our stay was lovely, the property was well kept and the room spotlessly clean.
A nice bar in the garden which unfortunately we didn't get time to use but it was well stocked and look cosy.
The welcome we had was lovely and breakfast the next more was cooked perfectly.
All in all a great stay.

- peter (10/5): Great find! - A great place to stay. Loved the individual themed rooms. Excellent for comfort/cleanliness/decoration/good breakfast. A real gem to find the pub in the garden - 4 real ales on tap & kept in good condition (we tried them all just to be sure). We would definitely stay again when in the area.

Observation is that you eat dinner in the shell bar. Would recommend this hotel and I will stay there again

- Verified traveler (10/5): - One of the best if not the best customer service I've ever experienced
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet residential location away from traffic, peaceful and homely, but with all you need in a good guest house. Proprietors particularly friendly and welcoming, chatty, interesting. Easy walk to local shopping centre and bus terminus.
- David (10/5): Don't miss this - This place is a gem!
it's like a cross between a hotel and staying with friends
rooms are themed and have to be seen to be believed, food is excellent, they have their own pub/restaurant in the back garden.
you will never feel so welcome anywhere else!
I will be back....
- Vicki (10/5): Brilliant house! - Amazing hotel, homely. Great bar at Goat in the Garden. Would stay again next event.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room was themed. Spotless with excellent detail. Full size toiletries. Fully licensed bar and personal service
- Verified traveler (10/5): Short but sweet, perfect stay - Fab house close to Farnborough International Conference Centre - I was made to feel very welcome, excellent hospitality & I really appreciated the attention to detail to ensure guests have the most comfortable stay. If i’m back in the area on business I would certainly book in again... thank you Will!

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Breakfast 5star. Bedroom African theme was amazing. Lovely shower room. All areas very clean. Has a bar. Owner very friendly. Parking in property grounds. Will return if in the area. Good value.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very well appointed B&B with a great breakfast - what more could you ask?
- Markus (10/5): - Absolutely perfect.....
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice house in quiet location just outside town centre. Reasonable priced bar in garden and good food. Much more pleasant than trying to find a pub.
- Kieran (10/5): Excellent place to stay. - Very welcoming and friendly people. Room and bathroom large and spotless. Excellent breakfast and off street parking. Will stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The proprietor Will was very friendly & welcoming . We enjoyed an evening in his bar, uniquely situated in the garden. He provided us with an evening meal but it did arrive 45 minutes late. However we had a glass of wine each on the house. I would advise going out for a meal.
- t (6/5): - The reason I booked this hotel was because it came with Netflix and breakfast. In reality the TV has Netflix installed but you need your own account and breakfast consists of egg and bacon. If you want a full English you need to pay £5 more. The owner gave me the impression that he doesn't really want dirty builders staying at his hotel. I'm working in the same area for the next couple of months but I won't be staying here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Melford House was great. The hosts were very attentive, rooms clean and comfortable, and all the added touches such as snacks in the rooms and plenty of toiletries were appreciated. Would never hesitate to stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - For a small establishment this is an exceptional property. The owners have put such thought into the details - kettle with a built in filter, rainhead shower, swan neck reading lights over the bed, very varied selection for breakfast including varieties of fresh fruit. The bar and restaurant in an owner-designed annexe next to a bubbling stream is beautiful, as is the garden.
- Roger (10/5): - A really pleasant stay. Hosts very friendly. Will definitely stay here again.
- Peter (10/5): Great stay - Very comfortable stay & the owners are great people. Nice bar and friendly atmosphere for a wine and meal. I would recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was very chilly at night and there was no way to regulate it.
- Paul (10/5): Highly recommended - Very good accommodation with a personal touch. Will offers a warm welcome and works hard to provide guests with a comfortable stay. Rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. A steak and a pint in the garden pub are highly recommended. A refreshing change from more corporate hotels.
- Ron (10/5): Don't hesitate just book. - Very pleasant stay with friendly and helpful owners. They have an excellent dinner too.
- Adam (10/5): Superb B&B - My 3 day stay here was brilliant, Will and Jess took great pride in maintaining a warm welcoming atmosphere, ensuring the rooms were kept clean and well furnished, the food at both breakfast and dinner was great (I'd recommend the full English and steak dinner). Was also very nice having a bar behind the house to relax and have a few beers.
It is a short 10 minute walk from the train station.
Would highly recommend staying here.
