Guest Reviews
- Yushan (10/5): Nice - Everything is great Stuff could be more familiar with their job.
- Murphy (1/5): - While I was traveling there I received an email letting me know they were canceling me at the last minute and booked me at another hotel. The hotel was fine, not the experience we were hoping for, and it was considerably less than what I paid. They are submitting a refund for the difference and it will go through you

- Kathryn (9/5): Pleasant pre-cruise stay. - Friendly staff. Adequate location with access to shopping, grocery, restaurants. 10 min cab to cruise pier. In house restaurant/ bar was very convenient and reasonable. Mattress wasn’t comfortable. Only queen size.
- Carsten (9/5): - Das Hometel hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Ausstattung ist gut, das Frühstück war lecker und die Lage ist toll. Klare Empfehlung! Nichts
- Clauda23 (10/5): Would stay there again! - Do yourself a favor and book a stay at this place. The location was perfect for us, it's adjacent to Oxford street and a short walk to the SeaCity Museum. We loved our room and the mattress was so comfortable. Their breakfast options were very good, their check-in & check-out process so fast, and we booked a parking spot easily and had a smooth access to the parking space.
- E9874FOml (10/5): Great staff, great value - It’s hard not to love this hotel when your first impression is excellent staff. Rio, Tia, Nat and Grace create a welcoming atmosphere and so accommodating. The rooms are very nice and exceptionally clean. A really good value!
- Mark (8/5): -
- Allen (8/5): Very enjoyable - We didn't have breakfast at the facility.
- Julie (10/5): We loved our stay. Very safe and great location. - Staff was friendly. Great location. N/A
- Denise (5/5): Okay - It was basic did not realize that I could cook slept okay Not knowing that I could cook breakfast not worth £16.00
- Julie (10/5): We enjoyed our stay. Good livation. Lots of nice restaurants nearby. - Great location. N/A

- bobm706 (10/5): Wonderful home away from home. - Room2 Southhampton has a great location. My wife and I were warmly welcomed by Rio during our check-in. The room was wonderful and well equipped. Our room has a great view of Queens Park and the hotel is well located for a walk along the medieval city wall, sightseeing of numerous historical sites and there are lots of restaurants and pubs nearby (within 10-15 minute walk. We could see cruise ships docking at QE II Pier and you can walk there easily in about 10 minutes.
Grace and the rest of the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

- Robert (9/5): -
- Megan (6/5): It was OK, the rooms were a generous size, there was only freeview TV, the breakfast was OK. - Breakfast was OK, but didn't match expectations.
The way the breakfast was described in the description, sounded like you could have a selection of options, you were allowed one option, and allowed minimal modification of it.
Breakfast came with tea, coffees and/or orange or apple juice, hot chocolate cost extra.
In the room there was satchets of coffee, decaff coffee tea, but again no hot chocolate.
There were 2 dishwasher pods, washing up liquid, a tea towel and a scrubbing brush.
Staff were generally very friendly and helpful, (a couple weren't). There was no kitchen roll, no jay clothes, no kitchen hand soap and nothing to wipe down surfaces/clean spills etc. except for the tea towel, bathroom towels or loo roll, which wasn't practical.
We chose the hotel in large part due to the onsite minimarket, currently I have very limited mobility, and the convenience of grabbing a drink, snack, treat whenever needed, and not having to leave the hotel was a big choice.
I couldn't see it when I arrived, and assumed it was round the corner downstairs, and would find it the next day.
We went to use it the following day, asking where it was and were told 'oh we don't have that anymore, we have remodelled and have a shelf for that now, but a much bigger better bar'.I was really annoyed, I could buy crisps, dog treats, books, and bags to take shopping, but not the same selection of drinks, icecream, snacks shown in the pictures on the hotel description.
The bed was hard, we asked about the soft mattresses we saw advertised on the hotel webpage available to choose, and were told the floor we were on (3) were all soft mattresses.I can assume the flintstones chose the mattresses to think they were soft.
My husband woke up with backache each morning as he found the bed so uncomfortable.
The room was fairly clean, but the paintwork wasn't great in some places (like edges), and there was some mould in the grouting on the bathroom. There were also some hairs in the bed before we got into the bed, and the crockery and plates provided weren't overly clean.
We put the dishwasher on to clean the crockery before we used it, as it was not clean, and the dishwasher then flooded, meaning we needed to be moved to a different room. They only had the cheaper rooms available (we had booked the most expensive), and said as we booked through booking.com they could not refund the difference.
We eventually agreed to come back on a different night in the future after our stay,as compensation.
- Paul (10/5): -
- Sally (6/5): - Nice location. Liked having the kitchenette Much too warm to sleep well. If you make the rooms that warm you don’t need such a big fluffy duvet!
- Suzannah (10/5): My first choice when staying in Southampton for value, comfort, vibes and location. - Extremely accommodating and friendly staff.
Fab breakfast.
Spacious room with comfortable bed. Fun raised bed for 3rd person. Everything was perfect and well priced.
- DayTrip23636544657 (4/5): DISAPPOINTED - Stayed before when the cafe was very small and the service was more personal and kinder.
Now staff seem to pass through reception passing on my request to the next person working behind the bar without even saying to me YES I will get someone to help you.
Nathaniel came and helped but suggested tripadvisor comment because staff get 10 quid if their name is mentioned
He booked a taxi for me nothing more!
Rio came to show me how to use the hob I watched and was none the wiser he was too fast.I got it eventually.
How to use the a/c panel in the room?
Do not worry by day 4 I worked it out so it was not either freezing or a sauna.
In short I felt an inconvenience.
A you a hotel or a restaurant?
Staff look very tired and overworked and lift floors need a good clean.
- Gavin (10/5): - Good location for the cruise terminals. Excellent breakfast.
- Yuki (9/5): - 朝食がおいしかった
メニューに記載のないものも、子供用のフルーツなど、臨機応変に対応していただけた

- natashabuttigieg (10/5): Exceptional Stay - Great location, however the service was exceptional. Justine, was impeccable and and went over an beyond making sure that we did not need anything

- O'Neill (8/5): -
- Leo (10/5): Excellent quirky and comfortable - perfect location for the event I was attending. - Excellent quirky and comfortable - perfect location for the event I was attending. Nothing
- heainj (4/5): Front desk girl was very rude. - Restroom is so smelly really bad.I don’t even can’t sleep.lucky only one night. Not worth the money. I don’t recommend it.
- Sparkes (9/5): -
- Elizak (10/5): Fantastic, totally recommend 👌 - Really excellent concept, well executed. Studio room with well equipped kitchenette - even a hob and pans, very quiet dishwasher etc.
Staff downstairs gave us some ice and lime slices for our at home cocktails 😁. Quiet and spotless room, lovely cotton bedlinen.
Bar and cafe downstairs seemed very nice, and popular with locals, though we didn't use them.
We were informed when we checked out that there are a few others in other cities so we're going to look out for them. An absolute bargain for the quality of the stay.
And it's a B Corp company so founded on a principle, not just for profit, so pretty ethical as well. I'd only ask for better hair conditioner in the shower but definitely not marking them down for that!
- David (7/5): - Location was great for me and my family. Room was nice ,clean and comfartable. Diddnt enjoy the breakfeast it was a bit sophisticated.. Would have been nice for more choice . Where not big loveres of sourdough bread. Should have more of a chioce regarding breakfast. Better opptions for little ones
- Suzanne (9/5): Very stylish, comfortable and friendly hotel in a fantastic location. - Our room was fantastic - very high ceilings, and on a corner with huge windows. It had a kitchenette which was very stylish, and well kitted out (although we didn't need to use it). Really comfy bed with beautifully crisp linen and nice pillows! A smart bathroom. The breakfast was absolutely lovely, and there was a lot to choose from. We had the full breakfast which was perfectly cooked, and everything was hot (which is often not the case in some hotels!). I personally loved the low volume chilled music playing in the bar area - this gave the place a really nice feel. The staff were really good and everything just worked really, really well. The location was perfect for so many bars and restaurants - within a short walking distance), and with lots of street parking all around the hotel. It looks out onto a pretty park surrounded by trees which was really pleasant. All round, a really great hotel, and amazing value for money. The flooring in the kitchen area in our room had begun to lift in places so this could ideally do with being re-done fairly soon in my opinion.
- 504aprilm (10/5): Room2 central location. Innovative concept - HomeTel. The staff were all great: Reece, Grace, Justine, Talia and Ankit made ou - Modern convenient location near cruise port and the high street. Our Master room 102 was bright and spacious, with a well-equipped kitchenette and bathroom. The staff was especially great, with Reece, Grace and Justine able to answer all our questions and fill all our needs. Talia and Ankit at Winnie's were welcoming, making great drinks and food. Highly recommend!!

- Stephen (9/5): - Clean and comfortable room . Kitchenette facilities in our room the Study'. Our room overlooked the park. We had no traffic noise and so had a peaceful night. Late checkout. Friendly staff. Not far from main shopping district. Nothing specific. Everything was fine for us
- Ruth (10/5): Amazing in every aspect - Absolutely fab, really friendly staff, lots of lovely little touches, very comfy bed, amazing shower and a full length mirror!! Nothing, it was all great
- Maryam (10/5): - Everything. Reiss is a one man wonder who is covering most aspects with helpful service or response. Grace covers the front desk very well. There is nothing to not like
- Ian (10/5): - Lovely
- Will (10/5): -
- Gillian (9/5): -
- JJSurrey12 (10/5): Amazing place. We will be back! - Fantastic room for families. Great to have a little kitchenette. Really comfy beds and a great breakfast to get you ready for a day exploring. The staff couldn’t do more for you.
- Sarah (8/5): Value for money hotel with spacious rooms in an ideal location for exploring Southampton. - The rooms were spacious, clean & well equipped. Whilst the hotels own car park was fully booked for our stay, there was ample street parking & an open car park within walking distance.
The beds were really comfortable & the room had a bright, spacious bathroom with powerful shower. The view from our room, at the back of the hotel, was a bit grim & we could hear guests in another room on the corridor late at night so the soundproofing could be improved but these are minor issues that definitely would not prevent us staying again.
- Jenny (9/5): Absolutely brilliant, we will be back! - The staff were amazing, the beds were really comfortable, the breakfast was fantastic. The location was excellent, right in the middle of town, walking distance to restaurants and close to the new forest. Very little.
- ChrisBeasley (10/5): Now my go to for a Southampton hotel. - Lovely staff, amazing clean & stylish room! Was made to feel very welcome upon arrival and throughout my stay. Bed may be the most comfortable I have experienced in a hotel. My room was spotless, with amazing facilities.
- Jake (10/5): -
- jos (10/5): -
- Alexander (8/5): Very suitable for a short stay. - Nicely placed and very helpful staff. Loft lounge second bed on the mezzanine very hard as just a mattress on the floor.
- Melisa (1/5): Terrible service - avoid - Location is convenient and pretty quiet. Staff need more training. The receptionist, who I called to say my internet wasn’t working, said it’s only me who has the issue to which I had to proceed downstairs to show her photos of the no internet connection. I told her I needed to urgently connect in order to attend an important conference call, to which she said I had to clear out my room to get the new room. When I rushed up and back down, she hadn’t even begun the process of the new room and was loudly saying the was being polite while being absolutely useless, slow and rude. THEN when I said she wasn’t being polite at all and was taking her time, she threatened to cancel my booking and I’d have to leave.
This person should never be in customer facing roles. Beyond the worst service I’ve had in the UK, easily.
- Len (7/5): One night stay with kids (10;13) - The location is super. Could have been cleaner. And little more choices for breakfast.
- Klud1399 (10/5): - Good location for the gig. Liked the live music in the evening. No hashbrowns on the breakfast and beans and spinach were both freezing cold.

- Rob (9/5): - Great location, fantastic accommodation
- Andrea (10/5): - Cannot recommend highly enough. Fantastic location and every inch of the place is stylish. We will definitely be back.
- Sravan (10/5): - Nice one
- Paulo (10/5): -
- MrsLauraT09 (6/5): Not too shabby but room for improvement - Booked here as park of Paultons Breaks - nights here and 2 days at Paultons Park with my husband & 3 year old.
Car Parking hard to find. Then told you needed to prebook but no mention of this on the website. Actually worked out cheaper to park on the street to be honest.
Pros
Check In was swift
Lifts all in use
Rooms ok, generally well equipped and quirky.
Comfy mattress on main bed
Adult Breakfast was lovely - great poached eggs.
Room Kitchenette good
Shower good
Nice towels & plentiful
Tea & Coffee provided which was nice.
Cons
- Not set up for families with smaller children. Both mornings we had to wait for a table for breakfast. And then slow to take orders and then you had to wait for it. Trying to explain to a 3 year old who is hungry you have to wait is not easy. The menu for kids is also not great. If you've got a little little one like us I'd not recommend this place for a Paultons Break - go with a larger chain for a swifter & wider variety breakfast.
- Coffee Machine was out of order. So only filter Coffee available. It was nice but it was constant chase the sugar jar as not enough jars for each table. Also had to keep asking for top ups of milk & Coffee. Same for Ketchup.
- Daughter's bed was a Z Bed that was far from comfy but thankfully she slept ok.
- Although a family of 3 accommodated bed wise only 2 chairs around the table so we couldn't eat together.
- Rock hard pillows - I'd take your own.
- Waste policy unclear - looked like they were asking us to recycled. Tried day 1 then they didnt out a bag in the labelled general waste bin for day 2 so ended up mixing everything

- mnH1379HS (6/5): Very basic hotel - The staff were excellent. Location was great and room was very clean. However, there were some missing basics that could greatly enhance the experience. For example, there was no hook to hang our clothes in bathroom when taking a shower; there was no phone in our room; the thermostat was no operating effectively (we had to go downstairs to ask staff to adjust temperature because we had no phone in the room); the big window in the room was facing another office building, yet there was no net curtain - there was no privacy at all; lighting was terrible and the only mirror in the room was positioned where the sunlight would always be behind us, so we couldn’t really see ourselves at anytime. All in all, it was a very badly designed room.
- Gordon (9/5): -
- England (10/5): -

- F4160ISalicjam (10/5): 10/10 - Amazing stay, excellent service provide by Teresa. Comfortable beds, design rooms. I will for sure back!
- edsZ4010KR (10/5): Perfect location for cruisers - Perfect location from Cruise terminal 3 that is totally walkable. Accommodations were fantastic as was the helpful staff.
- Zekeriya (6/5): - Location & restaurant. Room is poor.
- Stefania (10/5): - Such an amazing place to stay.
Very large rooms, high ceilings, lovely staff, full size kitchen, large bathroom.
We absolutelly loved it.
- Chris (10/5): -
- Brandon (10/5): -
- Adele (10/5): Homely, fun and comfortable - The staff were so lovely and welcoming and very accommodating as I needed an extra bed! Very child friendly and clean beautiful spacious room which you can Bluetooth your phone to watch Netflix ect really easy to do has a lovely little
Kitchen with all you need and 2 electric hobs and the shower was just amazing which a choice of a holding head or a big one attached to the roof of the shower ! Also the bed and pillows are so comfy we felt so at home and will definitely be returning
- Antony (8/5): Very comfortable hotel in a convenient location and with very helpful staff - Great check-in experience and a nice atmosphere throughout the hotel, with very helpful staff. There was no cold running water in my room in the night (both directions of the tap gave hot water!) so I had to go down to the bar in the night to get some drinking water... apparently this was a problem with the plumbing that the staff knew about - I hope that they can fix this soon because otherwise my stay was perfect.
- Varala (10/5): -
- Darren (8/5): Watch out for over confident staff who haven’t a clue and don’t book with booking.com as your be charged more in the end - Great room, fridge, sink and good shower. Local area not one your walk around when it’s dark (check the crime rate for physical assaults and violence). Using booking.com didn’t give best value as the hotel had hidden charges, paid an additional £25 to £50 per night because of booking.com prices was for the basic room - no parking, no discount in the bar or breakfast, pet charges, inconvenience from staffing saying should have read the small print on booking.com. Staff on Monday afternoon (manager m) were over confident and not customer focused, had an answer for all questions even when they had no idea what they were telling you.
- Clare (8/5): - Enjoyable stay Enjoyable stay, friendly staff. 3rd time I've stayed, will revisit again.
- Christina (10/5): A hotel that stands out from the rest - Clean, beautifully designed room with a lovely decor and comfortable beds.
- Tony (9/5): Did the job - Cold showers

- taniahT7273LL (10/5): The Best Week! - I stayed at Room2 in Southampton Monday - Friday (the last week of Feb), and honestly didn't want to check out by the end of my stay! It felt like home straight away, the room was beautiful, the staff were SO friendly and welcoming, especially everyone on reception & behind the bar. Big Shout out to Grace, Talia, Rio, Ankit, Nathaniel & Reece! Special Shout out to the Duty manager Teresa, who had the most welcoming approach to all the guests, and clearly passed down her happy, positive attitude to the rest of the team!
The hotel was in the perfect location for anything you'd need in town, whether thats shopping, visiting Ocean Village or getting on a cruise ship.
I already can't wait to book in with them again, would highly recommend!
- Joanne (8/5): -
- Gallardo Juarez (9/5): - Ok Ok
- Dannyq959 (10/5): Awesome - I Can’t say enough about this hotel! Location, comfy room, tasty food, all the staff were awesome especially Theresa!
100% I will be returning. Thanks guys 🫶🕊️
- OceanExplorer (8/5): - Most of it was lovely, staff great as always, room comfortable etc Upstairs guests jumping all evening, the sound amplifies horribly with the concrete ceilings. Also the first floor is at street lamp level so it's extremely bright at night, usually I like having the curtains open to look out onto the trees, couldn't do that this time.

- 376lynseym (10/5): Awesome apartments - Fantastic aparthotel with attentive service, modern rooms and great breakfast offering.
Southampton as a destination does not have much to offer though, so unfortunately will not be returning.
- Mariëlle (9/5): Great stay - Funky, clean and friendly Limited parking. On road parking okay but mild faff getting it sorted.
- Rachel (10/5): Fabulous hotel, super friendly staff and great rooms - Excellent hotel amazing rooms. Comfy and clean with lots of thought gone into decoration and little touches. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the restaurant is lovely with great food! Nothing!
- Steve98001 (10/5): Perfect stay - Cane to Southampton to visit our son who is studying here. He lives in apartment across the street, so location is perfect for us. Stayed in a corner room, so picked up a little extra room. Friendly staff in restaurant who took good care of is with coffee a d cookies! Great value!
- Rachelclal (10/5): Excellent hospitality and service, spacious rooms - Excellent service provided by Justine, Reece and the team. They went above and beyond for us. Great spacious rooms too.

- DRPLAD (10/5): Great hotel. Lovely staff. Comfortable and clean. Wonderful stay. - My first time at a Room2 hotel. But wont be my last. A great hotel. The room was comfortable, with a lovely view. Loads of ameneties. Very comfortable bed. The staff were always helpful and always with a smile. The location was perfect fro my trip. Parking was secure on site.
