- Audrey (10/5): Our stay was pleasant - Very clean A lot of steps
- Keith (10/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): Location is fabulous - Location to die for! Fabulous view over Sheephaven - worth the extra for a seaview room. Pricy, but worth it. Lovely room, good facilities and food, friendly, comfortable, stylish. Leisure club changing room is unisex. I would have preferred female privacy.
- Gerard (10/5): Enjoyable relaxing stay with a fantastic upgraded room with spectacular sea and mountain views - Breakfast was great and location in beautiful surroundings friendly helpful and professional staff. Would have liked an earlier check in time 16.00 hrs seems a little late in the day after a 3hr journey.
- Majella (10/5): - Beautiful room, amazing view. The nicest fish and chips served in the restaurant. Great entertainment in the restaurant on Saturday night. Friendly staff. No complaints
- BRIAN (10/5): Excellent place for a break, most enjoyable - The location, clean Inness food, and the Staff, especially Donna on reception. Nothing
- Glyn (8/5): -
- Baker (9/5): Fantastic location and leisure centre and great staff, - Location and views. Staff were all excellent. Leisure centre fantastic. Breakfast was a great experience.
Loved using the staircase for those views over the Bay. The dinner menu was limited.
- Lorraine (5/5): -
- Naomi (8/5): Lovely and peaceful location - Food was really good and the view from our bedroom was amazing. Bed was bit hard and uncomfortable. Basic enough room.

- brian (8/5): - Upgraded on arrival to Executive Room. We were very pleased with the room. Enjoyed a lovely hour in the hotel pool/sauna/steam room after our walk on Marble Hill Beach
The location is stunningly beautiful.
The staff are excellent-very attentive and friendly. Only downside is that the food in the bar was a bit disappointing. The breakfast next morning however was a lot better
- Bregeen (10/5): -
- Connor (10/5): -
- Martin (7/5): - Ate dinner at the bar and the food was just ok. Chicken breast was a bit dry and my steak was just about grand, but not amazing.
- Fiona (8/5): Easter at the Shandon - Fabulous breakfast comfortable room.
Stunning views. Health suite crowded over Easter break.
Too many children at breakfast crowding the self service area.
- Joerg (7/5): - Der Pool war recht kalt. Auch war es sehr laut im gesamten SPA Betreich. Der Wasserdruck in der Dusche war sehr sehr schlecht.
- Tara (8/5): -
- Jacqui (10/5): Amazing stay with family - Beautiful location. Lovely staff. Lovely food.

- Ben (8/5): - Perfect for golf trip. Rooms and use of the sauna was excellent. Staff couldn’t help with an electric car charging point - they could definitively say there was one and dint know its location. Breakfast was excellent but the bar food in the evening was just okay.

- canning (10/5): -
- Neil (10/5): -
- Lesley (6/5): Great location but don’t think it’s worth the money - Location to beach No charger for electric car. Only one seating area/lounge that was full; quality of furnishing just ok

- Claire (9/5): Beautiful place - Beautiful place
- Olena (10/5): -
- Inna (10/5): We were very pleased! - We were unable to check into the hotel on our scheduled date due to a storm. After contacting the hotel management, they kindly rescheduled our reservation. We arrived today and were very pleased with the service. The room was cozy and very clean. The ocean view from the window was magnificent. The service and staff were top-notch. We are very pleased and will definitely be back. Thank you! Everything was great!
- Gillespie (8/5): great staff , great views and very comfortable - Reception staff were excellent on arrival and departure view from the room was superb , View at breakfast again was excellent . Thought the dinner menu was a little limited but it was a wet Monday night in November and hotel wasn't that busy .What i chose was spot on and the service was good . The lights in the dining room are very bright and white which made it feel a bit cold . Could do with a plan of the hotel in the information folder to show where everything was . I knew there was a pool but didnt know where . Well if all i have to complain about is the colour of the white lights !! all in all a great stay and hope to come back in the summer dining room lights
- Terence (9/5): Lovely break - Great location N/A
- Fiona (10/5): - The food was stunning and staff where friendly and professional.
The spa was superb. Room wasn't heated for our arrival.
- Cherryl (10/5): Top class hotel and facilities. Highly recommend to all types of travellers. - It’s set is a beautiful bay on the Atlantic Ocean and the facilities are second to none. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. We stayed in a junior suite and the room was enormous and very well equipped with two very large TVs and a fantastic view. The gym is brilliant and the spa and indoor pool are so relaxing. If you want to just get away from it all and have no distraction just great food and fabulous scenery then this is the place to be. It was our second visit and we will be back again next year all being well. Nothing, it’s a fabulous hotel.
- Kelly (9/5): - Great location, great beach, great room, great food The main restaurant was not open while we were there.
- Sarah Claire (10/5): A hotel placed in my most favourite place in the whole world.marblehill beach - Friendly and adaptable staff All good
- Emmet (4/5): -
- Sarah-Louise (10/5): -
- Emma (4/5): Wouldn’t go again - The location is nice The noise in the room was awful, I could hear every conversation and door opening and closing in the hallway so therefore was unable to sleep, the room was €320 for the night, no view out the window just a wall of grass. Was not worth the money at all.
- Aine (8/5): Loved the location, enjoyed the facilities and would recommend it. - Breakfast was excellent as was evening meal. The staff were extremely pleasant and friendly and room was very clean. The only negative was the radiator in our room didn’t appear to be working and, while we did politely report it twice, it wasn’t sorted so room was a little chilly in the evenings.
- William (10/5): -
- Patsi (8/5): - Settling was gorgeous, beach close by for swimming. Room was comfortable, thermal suite was lovely apart from the noise of machinery and track machine working just below the hot tub. The open fire in the lobby was so cosy and the staff we so welcoming. The breakfast buffet was amazing, so many options, everything was fresh and hot, a great start to the day. I would definitely recommend the Shandon hotel. We had dinner in the bar one evening. The service was poor and the food for a 4 star hotel was very disappointing. It was over priced and the food was fairly standard and processed. The Marvles restaurant wasnt opened.
- Jason (8/5): -
- Claire (10/5): Lovely wee night away with my 2 sisters & mother - Everything
- Megan (6/5): -
- Howard (7/5): A pleasant return to old glorious surroundings - Clean, spacious and well spacious Awkward shower over the bath. A walk-in would have been much more convenient
- Chris (10/5): - Excellent location with beautiful views. Staff were all friendly and very helpful
- Eimear (1/5): Massive disappointment - Room wasnt clean, and how they dealt with my issues was beyond poor. They acknowledged the very clear poor cleanliness, yet offered nothing as am apology. The room smelled awful, the floor sofa bed were all veey obviously dirty. There were footprints on each and everyone of the chairs
- susan (8/5): Great location lovely hotel - Great location
- Kerry (6/5): Disappointed - Beautiful location, and a beautiful hotel, room’s are lovely. Pool was closed for 3 hours on a Sunday for children’s private swimming lessons and could not be used during that time; apparently it’s in the small print somewhere. I’d specifically emailed reception to ask if we could use the pool at that time, and was told yes, we could. As we were only staying one night and it was the only time that suited us to use it, it meant we couldn’t use it. We were told we were still able to use the steam and sauna, not the jacuzzi, but the noise from the kids lessons and the fact that the changing rooms were rammed with kids and parents dressing for lessons made for a pretty unrelaxing environment, a real shame, it was the main reason we chose to stay here. It’s one of the main reasons spa hotels charge a lot more to stay, especially at weekends. I checked the price of the rooms midweek to compare, and it was almost half what we paid to stay at the weekend, yet when staying at the weekend the facilities are limited due to private swimming lessons? I don’t think this is fair on paying residents or good value for money. It’s either a spa hotel or it’s not. I feel the owners are trying to be all things to everyone in an effort to make as much money as they can and the result is disappointing for customers who’ve paid a lot to stay there.
- Helen (8/5): - good sized rooms, lovely location right by the beach breakfast wasn’t the best quality, the food in the one hotel restaurant was very poor. felt overpriced vs what you get.
- Darren Murray (7/5): -
- Hilary (8/5): - Stunning views. Pleasant staff. Attractive decor. Exceptionally clean throughout the hotel. Drilling in adjoining bedrooms whilst resting although I accept this was work that needed to be done.
- Peter (10/5): For a couple of nights away it would be difficult to do better! - View from room unbeatable. Food excellent value and plentiful! Nothing negative
- Audrey (8/5): -
- Lou (8/5): -
- Aimee (6/5): We had no idea you had to pay extra to visit the spa, was also very expensive. Dinner wasn’t great either - The location and views are beautiful Hotel very dated, in need of a revamp. The hotel pool is open to local caravan site children, it was hectic
- Rudolf (8/5): -
- Steffen (9/5): Traumlage am Strand - Drr Blick und das Restaurant Die Zimmer sind in dir Jahtr gekommen. Der Spa Bereich ist lieblos.
- John (9/5): Excellent place to stay in a superb setting - Fantastic setting, great food
- Julie (10/5): - Beautiful view, friendly staff and cleanliness. Food was lovely and very reasonably priced.
- Victoria (10/5): - Everything from the staff, food, decor, location. We had a lovely relaxing break with our big kids. Thank you
- Elisabeth (8/5): Guter Aufenthalt, gutes FrĂĽhstĂĽck - Tolle Aussicht, wir wurden upgraded und genossen das sehr Body Lotion, Facial Tissues und Schminkspiegel vermisste ich
- Colleen (10/5): An amazing hotel in a perfect location already planning our next visit and we’re only home a few hours. - The Shandon is perfect for relaxing getting away from the business of life. The location is stunning, the staff are so friendly and the food is exceptional. There’s nothing to dislike about the Shandon.
- Michael (10/5): Fantastic - Sea views and 2mins walk to the beach
- Caroline (10/5): Staff are really helpful. Lovely location and hotel. -
- Tom (10/5): -
- John (7/5): An OK stay but we expected more. - Breakfast was excellent. The restaurant was never open and dinner was served in the bar. This made it difficult for people who just wanted a drink, as all the tables with the lovely views were taken by diners.
Little issues like loose towel rails, confusing external signage and poorly trained staff took the icing off the cake.
- christine (8/5): Would highly recommend. - Close to beaches. Stunning location.Friendly & helpful staff. Just a recommendation, to have more food selection at restaurant for adults.
- Anne (8/5): - Staff were lovely and the location was very good with excellent views overlooking a very picturesque sea landscape.
- bridgeen (8/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great family get together bringing back memories of Marble Hill holidays - Very welcoming Nothing
- Tony (7/5): - Location was superb, staff very helpful and friendly. Bathrooms small. Some facilities not available.
- Mary (10/5): - My stay at the Shandon hotel was perfect.
All staff were very friendly and helpful
I'll be back to stay.
- Karen (10/5): The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, with stunning views of the Wild Atlantic Way that you simply can’t get enoug - Location and facilities in the hotel.
- John (7/5): location location location - We had a great stay at Shandon. It's in a wonderful position; just a short walk from Marble Hill beach. The staff were friendly, the room was clean, the breakfast was delicious. There was a wedding taking place the day we checked out, so all guests had to eat breakfast in the bar instead of the restaurant, which wasn't ideal. this also felt unnecessary. If breakfast is over by 11am, it feels like there would have been enough time to turn the dining room around in time for the wedding; doing it the night before felt like overkill and unnecessarily disruptive to guests.
- Paul (9/5): We had an excellent time. Right on a lovely beach with good facilities like swiming, tennis, football. The girls loved t - Great location & great staff. Nial at breakfast was always helpful. A small fridge in the room should be provided. Our shower pressure on the 3rd floor wasn’t the best. Maybe needs a pump. Also, no need for caps to be worn in the pool.
- ciara (9/5): -
- Eve (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at Shandon Hotel recently. Lovely staff on check in and booking. We were v lucky to have a room with sea view and it was fabulous. Bed v comfy and air con in the room. The food in the bar was really tasty. Pool was clean and pool staff v helpful. We played tennis while there and went for a swim in the sea just in front of the hotel. This is a beautiful beach. Overall I would highly recommend a stay at the Shandon Hotel!
- Katharine (10/5): Stunning views and beautiful room - The location took our breath away. With the good weather it is really a special location. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained and modern. The pool is small but fabulous and beautifully kept. Staff were lovely and the proximity to one of the most gorgeous beaches we’ve seen just added to the experience. Nothing really.
- Dorothy (8/5): Relaxed weekend - Location superb good facilities staff informative I booked 2 standard rooms interconnected rooms and bathroom compact access to shower via the bath very high no air conditioning could only open window slightly uncomfortable for sleeping everything else very good
- Matt (8/5): - Restaurant upstairs not open
- FIONA (10/5): - breakfast was lovely. wonderful selection. staff were really friendly and attentive. room was wonderful with the full length window wifi kept disconnecting.
i would have liked the evening dinner menu to have some more plain options available.
- Isabel (10/5): -
- Isabelle (9/5): -
- David (8/5): Great location, friendly staff, good quality food, just lacking the high end finish on some aspects. - Great location. Modern feel. Neither the Marbles Restaurant or Jonjo’s bar where open which was extremely poor considering it was a Sunday night stopover, the hotel was busy and people were being turned away from the beats bar and being asked to come back later for food leaving them the lobby area to wait. The lobby does not have a bar so you still had to go into the beats bar, order a drink and then carry it out to the lobby and wait for a table to become available. Yes the recommend booking a table but if you were late in arriving the majority of bookings would have gone. Also the portion sizes in the beats bar were rather meagre. Couldn’t fault the quality of the food just wanted and needed more. Finally as a Gluten Free eater there are no desserts available. Again that poor in this day and age.
- Anthony (8/5): Good. - Access and meal We wanted 4th floor sea view. Never happened
- Murray (9/5): -
- Carol (8/5): Lovely location, accessible room was excellent and view from room exceptional. - Breakfast was good plenty of variety The meal in the Bar restaurant was average. I ordered Cod with tomato sauce on the side. The Cod was very small and needed to be covered by the sauce to make it look an acceptable meal. Only for the dish of champ I would have been Hungary. Not good value at €27.
- Anne (9/5): Loved the hotel and all staff were extremely friendly and attentive, would love to return and will r - Staff went out of their way to be friendly and ensure we had all we needed Food a little expensive
- Clare (8/5): Very pleasant, too short a stay. - Great location and very helpful staff all round.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Excellent overnight stay to celebrate 50 th wedding anniversary with family - Everything Nothing
