• Jeroen (8/5): Prima uitvalsbasis voor de oude stad en Mihintale - Een middelgroot hotel, maar toen wij er waren, was het niet druk. Het zwembad is heerlijk verkoelend voor de warmte in april. We kregen van de eigenaar een paar hele goede tips voor het bezoek aan de religieuze highlights, zeker omdat we met kinderen waren en dat vaak een beetje wordt vergeten. Verder prima ruime kamer met goede bedden. Door het laagseizoen was de selectie van het restaurant wat beperkt, maar dat is eigenlijk wel te begrijpen. Voordeel was wel dat het rustig was, want het is een complex met meerdere gebouwen en wanneer alle kamers gevuld zijn is het ons eigenlijk wat te groot. Ligging is wat achteraf, dus je bent al snel aangewezen op vervoer. Wij hadden eigen vervoer, maar anders wel iets om rekening mee te houden.

• Clémence (9/5): Nous reviendrons 🥰 - L’hotel est loin de la circulation, parfait pour etre au calme. Nous étions les seuls touristes donc nous étions très tranquille. La piscine est tres agréable. L’accueil était parfait. Le personnel des plus souriants, qui prend bien soin de ses clients. Le lit double est tres grand et tres confortable. Les portions du petit déjeuner sont tres généreuses. Vous avez le choix entre deux menus : européen ou sri lankais (voir photos). Le cadre est idéal en pleine nature, avec quelques animaux qui vous rendent visite au bord de la piscine. La climatisation fait pas mal de bruit. La chambre était un peu poussiéreuse avec quelques bestioles mortes, mais rien de méchant ! Le menu pour manger au restaurant est un peu cher, un repas pour deux coûte en moyenne 23€.
• Martin (10/5): - Es wurde sich sehr höflich um unsere Anliegen gekümmert und das Personal war super freundlich, zuvorkommend, hat mit gedacht, war sogar hilfsbereit in einem Notfall in den sie eigentlich nicht involviert war waren und haben alles möglich gemacht. Unterhaltet euch mal mit dem Eigentümer - sehr spannende Sidequest :) die Anreise ist etwas tricky, da Google Maps die Hälfte der Straße nicht kennt aber wenn man das Restaurant als Zieladresse angibt, finden einen auch die Pick Me Fahrer :) die Zimmer waren schön und der Pool ebenfalls! Besonders hervorheben möchte ich die Kochkünste!!!

• Daniela (10/5): Tolles Hotel mit Dschungelfeeling - Die Mitarbeiter waren superfeundlich und haben uns alle Wünsche erfüllt. Das Essen war Top, sie haben gefragt ob wir mit oder ohne Fleisch essen, für mich als Vegi sehr toll und es war sehr lecker. Die Betten und der Boden waren blitzeblank sauber. Der Pool ist wunderbar und sehr sauber, mit super Wasserqualität. Die Tür auf den Balkon konnten wir kaum öffnen, diese ist leider verzogen und klemmt. Wenn sie geöffnet wird Quitscht es mehrfach laut was die noch schlafenden weckt. Deshalb ist auch aussen der Henkel abgebrochen und es ist noch schwieriger.

• Sienna (9/5): Amazing pool and beautiful hotel grounds - This hotel was in such a nice location to be away from the busy areas and have a jungle feel, while still being close to the local attractions. All the staff were very accomodating and friendly, and the bed was the most comfortable I stayed in while in Sri Lanka. The owner told me he had them imported especially and it shows! The breakfast was served above the pool and was very filling!

• natacha (8/5): Très grande piscine à l’extérieur de la ville - Très grande piscine dans un joli jardin. Petit déjeuner copieux et bon. Chambre agréable avec terrasse juste devant. Hôtel très calme car à l’extérieur de la ville. Bon restaurant à l’hôtel pour dîner le soir car trop loin de la ville (prix très raisonnable environ un peu moins de 2000rs le plat). Personnel très sympathique. Ne pas hésiter à leur téléphoner si vous avez du mal à trouver l’endroit car vraiment au calme dans un petit chemin.

We hebben hier een geweldig oud en nieuw gevierd met andere gasten en het personeel. Onvergetelijke avond met BBQ, pool-toernooi, gezellige muziek en drank.

• Peter (8/5): - Wir waren 2 Nächte in Saliya Garden und haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist eine sehr naturnahe Anlage, die etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist. Eine kleine Sensation ist das Essen im Restaurant, wo man auch sehr angenehm sitzt. Ein weiteres Highlight waren die Gespräche mit mit dem Chef, den ich Nelson Mandela genannt habe - zu seiem größten Vergnügen. Er hat philosophische Tiefe, zeigte uns seine bibiophilen Schätze und zeigte sich sehr kundig in der buddhistischen Tradition. Sehr gern wieder ein Gespräch mit Dir, Nelson! Er ist zudem sehr hilfsbereit uns half uns aus der Klemme, als uns ein bestelltes Taxi sitzenließ. Meine Partnerin hätte sich mehr Sauberkeit gewünscht, ich fand es okay.
• Arnoud (8/5): Great hotel with enormous swimming pool just outside city - Very comfortable hotel with nice bed, good shower and enormous swimming pool. Staff is very nice, a lot of parking space and amazing breakfast! Breakfast is big and will make you skip lunch. The location is a little bit far from town, like 15 minutes with tuktuk. Also the road isn't that great the last part of the journey. Like other places in Sri Lanka the electricity can drop though so be aware.

On a aussi apprécié le fait d'avoir des armoires pour ranger nos affaires, une bouilloire, un petit frigo dans la chambre... L'équipe est au top et Upali, le patron, est un monsieur adorable ! Propreté moyenne des chambres, le frigo était vraiment sale à notre arrivée :-/ L'hôtel est un peu excentré. Possibilité d'avoir un chauffeur de l'hôtel pour rejoindre les différents sites. L'application "pickme" fonctionne aussi si vous n'avez pas de véhicule, même si les chauffeurs ne trouvent pas facilement l'emplacement. Restaurant bien appréciable compte tenu de l'emplacement, mais les prix sont un peu excessifs.
• Henk en Jacqueline (7/5): Mooi zwembad, goede gids, verder wat verouderd - Mooi groot zwembad en goede badkamer. Vriendelijk personeel. Bij het hotel een gids geregeld om langs de tempels te gaan per tuktuk. De gids werkt zelf bij het hotel. Hij heeft ons een fantastische ervaring bezorgd bij de tempels en heel veel informatie gegeven. Het lag erg afgelegen aan een half verharde weg. Er was wat achterstallig onderhoud en de kamer rook wat muf. Het restaurant was relatief duur terwijl er weinig alternatief in de buurt is. Er was ook veel niet voorradig van de menukaart.

If you enjoy genuine conversations, this is the perfect place — the owner is open, respectful and truly interested in his guests, creating a very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. The food is very good and prepared with care. The price–quality ratio is excellent: comfortable accommodation, tasty meals and very personal service for a fair price. The owner also arranged a guide and a driver for me, which made everything easy and stress-free. I am very grateful for the warmth and hospitality I experienced here and would happily return. • Jerica (8/5): Goede kamer, aardige mensen, heerlijk zwembad, goede wifi - We kregen een kamer met een groot terras op de eerste verdieping met uitzicht op het zwembad. Op ons verzoek om een tafel en stoelen voor het terras werd meteen actie ondernomen, waardoor we fijn buiten konden zitten. Het zwembad is groot en schoon. Het ontbijt is ontzettend lekker en enorm uitgebreid. Leuk waren de eekhoorntjes die bij het ontbijt op de trap mee zaten te smikkelen van stukjes brood. Het personeel is ontzettend aardig en behulpzaam. De wifi is goed. Het ligt een stuk buiten het centrum, je hebt echt een tuktuk nodig om er te komen. Maar omdat het buitenaf ligt zit je wel weer midden in de natuur.

The hotel is from 2018 and you can see a bit of aging from the tropical humidity, but everything was spotless and very well taken care of. My room was beautiful, and the mattress was insanely comfortable – you can feel the quality immediately. The food was the real highlight: fresh fruit from the garden, and honestly one of the best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. The chef is truly talented. Same for the club sandwich and fries – everything was a 10/10. The pool is huge, perfect for swimming or just floating around in the sun. The garden is lush and green, and we even saw wild rabbits. Opali, the owner, was incredibly kind, helpful and respectful – great conversations, but never intrusive. A small, charming hotel with amazing food, a massive pool, and genuinely warm people. I’d absolutely come back.

• Heike (10/5): Eine Oase zum Wohlfühlen - Das Personal ist wirklich super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Danke an den Koch für sein leckeres Essen. Das Frühstück ist ausreichend für jedermann und ist köstlich. Es gibt sogar Cappuccino mit Lavazzakaffeepulver . Der Innhaber kümmert sich super um seine Gäste und kann schon viel aus seinem Leben berichten. Die Anlage hat er selbst mit eigenen Händen gebaut und darauf kann er auch stolz sein . Im übrigen gibt es einen tollen Pool . Das Wasser ist sehr gepflegt und riecht auch in keinster Weise . Sehr schön sind auch die vielen Tiere , die man zu sehen bekommt, Vögel , zB auch mehrere Pfauen, Streifenhörnchen , Affen , Frösche , Echsen usw Zum Hotel gehört auch Raalf , der uns in seinem Tuktuk zu wundervollen Orten gefahren hat und wir viel über die Geschichte des Landes erfahren haben. Auch dafür vielen Dank Leider klappt das mit dem Putzen noch nicht so richtig. Sie sind aber sehr bemüht. They tried their best to make us feel comfortable and were always polite. Unfortunately, the room was far below expectations, especially for the price of 65 USD per night. There was an unpleasant smell in the room and bathroom, stains on towels, curtains, and chairs, and the toilet seat was in unacceptable condition. We also experienced a temporary power outage and noticed a loose socket, which felt unsafe. In addition, there were ants and even a larger bug in the room. Overall cleanliness and hygiene were very poor, which made us decide to leave earlier than planned.

• Stef (8/5): Tussen de bananenplanten en palmbomen, ver weg van drukke wegen vonden we een oase van rust - Het hotel is wat afgelegen waardoor je in volledige rust kunt genieten van de locatie en grote zwembad. Het personeel was zeer vriendelijk, het ontbijt heerlijk en ‘s avonds kon je gerust blijven eten in het hotel. De warmtepomp van de airco buiten maakte storend lawaai. Hier en daar wel wat nood tot renovatie.

Wir hatten ein tolles Gespräch mit dem Chef der schon viel um die Welt gereist ist, und wieder hier seine Mitte gefunden hat. (back to the roots) Der saubere 25 m Pool sorgt für wohl empfinden. Der Chef stellte uns sofort sein Tuck Tuck zur Verfügung, einfach nett von Ihm. Er ist darauf bedacht, dass sich die Gäste wohl fühlen. Wir würden die Anlage wieder buchen. Die Anlage ist in die Jahre gekommen wird aber schon langsam aufgefrischt, aber hat einen angenehmen Charm.
