- 336caroliney (10/5): Excellent Experience - We stayed at the Lakeside Hotel for two nights on a Heritage tour with our daughter, who is adopted from Fujian. My husband and I both have celiac disease and the hotel staff could not have been kinder or more helpful with accommodating our food allergy. To make things even more difficult, we are vegetarian. The kitchen took extra precautions to make food for us at breakfast. The buffet was plentiful with multiple options for us. Mr. Nick Chen was so helpful and kind. The location is beautiful, right beside West Lake Park. The beds were so comfortable and the hotel quiet at night for restful sleep after a day of sightseeing. Cannot recommend enough for your next stay in Fouzhou.

However, it didn’t keep up to the standard at present. I booked a non smoking room, but I can smell the smoke as soon as step out of my room, all over the hallway.

- GuoYe340 (8/5): Nice hotel - Had 11 nights there on a family visit. Hotel in a good location for the centre of Gulou, we used taxis due to the heat but would be walkable at cooler times in the year (30 mins or so). Local shops about 10 mins walk + direct access to the path around the lake right outside. Rooms were a decent size, comfortable, clean + modern. Staff friendly and helpful. Food a bit variable - lunch consistently very good, breakfast & dinner less so, particularly when breakfast busy. Plenty of food choices though for or a 5 star hotel would expect more international food options, also typically would have 6-8 different bread rolls available at breakfast, all of them white bread. Good size outdoor pool a big plus.

L’hotel propone due ristoranti uno alla carne ed uno a buffet entrambi molto buoni. Il personale dell’hotel e i concierge ha però problemi a parlare in inglese, solo alcuni lo parlano e diventa una impresa chiedere informazioni e farsi capire.

Rooms we stayed on 19th and 20th floor are clean and very quiet. The service is the best as they anticipated your needs and go above and beyond to meet them. The response time to our requests are usually within 10-15 minutes. Same day laundry services.

- Carolkayjoh (10/5): Perfect place - We stayed for a week and it was lovely. Location excellent! Breakfast was just awesome!!!!!a nice way to start the day. Concierge Kevin and Joe wang were very helpful. The reception staff and restaurant great Maggie and Tina went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The amazing part was when we checked in an Ayi gave our daughter a souvenirs . ( the Ayi was night shift lady - pass our thanks to her) The staff are always eager to help. The room cleanliness is good but can be improved having an eye to detail would help. Suggestions: 1. Have a retractable cloths line in the bathroom for hanging things you don’t want to send to laundry. 2. The restaurant alacarte menu had items missing ( the staff should be quick to advice what is not there) Overall experience 9/10. Will definitely return and can’t hesitate to recommend to others.

Stayed at a room on the 21st flor so the lake view was amazing! This is a non smoking hotel i mean very different from all hotels in china. Did not get to try thr restaurant and other services. There are a few bars a few minutes walk away.

- Klaus1234 (10/5): Excellent hotel at a wonderful lake within the First Ring of Fuzhou (main district) - Arriving by subway (Pingshan, Exit C), you need to catch a taxi to get to the hotel. The hotel is situated overlooking the "West Lake". You can chose either a seaside or a cityside room. Both are large and correspond with a *****hotel room: shower, bathtub, large window, very comfortable bed (you have to force yourself to get out of it!). The breakfast buffet offers a great variety of Chinese food, but also Swiss cheese and baguette as well as American breakfast; high hygienic standard, attentive service. Also the front desk clerks are very helpful and friendly.
- marg082018 (8/5): Beautiful place to stay refurbished in early 2018. - We had a room on 8th floor over looking lake, we were treated to this by a family member who had business to do in Fuzhou. Amazing views although it was very overcast the time we were there. Staff very helpful at breakfast buffet. I walk with a stick and staff carried my plate around and put my selections of food for breakfast on it. An enormous selection of food to chose from. The only minor negative thing was choosing Baked Salmon on the A LA Carte menu for dinner. We were not interested in another Chinese buffet to most peoples surprise and we were told we had to wait 60 minutes; my sister said no I think she said 16 minutes but we did have to wait nearly 1 hour although it was well worth it when food finally arrived. The Chinese relatives couldn't understand why we would order only 1 thing when we could have had a whole buffet!!!! My 5 year old great nephew enjoyed a hot dog with chips and salad.

- Alvin_Phey (6/5): Old hotel but clean and nicely located, service a little lacking. - This is an old hotel over looking the west lake park at Fuzhou. Although it's old, but it was kept rather clean and tidy. The front desk service was a little lacking: we checked in around 730pm, they took our passports for registration, but due to there were 10 of us in the group, they gave us the room keys and told us to go to our room first, and they will send the passport to us after completing the registration. However we waited for 1 hour and they didn't send it back to us, until we went to front desk and collected it ourselves.

- O9609WOdavidk (8/5): Nice place to stay - This was my second hotel in China, so hard to compare with others. It was very comfortable and very good value by American standards. The Breakfast buffets= was extensive with lots of choices for Western and Chinese tastes.. Chinese people we talked to seemed to think it was very old -28 - but it looked fine to us..Its proximity to a beautiful lake and park is also a plus - my wife and I loved walking through it and watching groups of Chinese sing, dance, play games, and just walk. The one problem was the internet, which was pretty spotty - often didn't work at all and wouldn't let us make telephone calls over it.
- alejk2016 (8/5): A modern hotel in the city of Fuzhou - This hotel is built on the land where our family's estate was. The garden used to be much larger but since they needed more land, they filled part of the garden and built the 2 hotel, one is an old building and we stayed in the new one. The manager of the hotel was very nice and helpful. We had a banquet in the restaurant of this hotel with our relatives who still live in the city and the food and service was very good. We travelled in May 2014 and our relatives still go to enjoy the lake view. They told us that if we have been there a couple of years earlier they had a picture of our property. We booked in the Internet and it was the new hotel. But my cousin went from Macau and their booking was in the old building.
- otonobo (8/5): Really enjoyed out stay - We stayed here to meet our adopted son. The hotel is lovely and in an amazing location. The staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast buffet is the biggest I've ever seen. Our only disappointment was that the pool wasn't full.
- izn2008 (10/5): Best location in fuzhou - If you come to fuzhou stay here! Hotel location feels like paradise! Locates next to westlake, with a beautiful walking boardwalk, a small child playland beautiful garden and 3 km walking boardwalk! The area has a few bars at night and restaurants! It feels like a resort here even though it is downtown! The location of this hotel is better than intercontinential or shangri la or any other! This is a 5 star hotel and feels like it! Has a swimming pool outdoor and outdoor bar and patio also has an indoor buffer and shops i hotel! Also hotel has coffee shop and bars! Rooms are excellent with everything one needs and more! Bed is a bit firm but not as firm as most chinese hotels are! Highly recomend this hotel
- GrandTour596885 (10/5): Very impressed! - I stayed at this hotel for 4 days and was very impressed the staff were very friendly some had limited English but still tried there best at helping at all times the rooms are clean and bed is very comfy , the view from our room was breathtaking I traveled with my 3yr old son and were well taken care of , the buffet breakfast is delicious a wide variety of western foods also Chinese not expensive at all the lake out front of the hotel is wonderful so many things for kids to do there my son was never bored I will most definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it , shopping centers only 2 km away many shops there .
- jamestT9751GA (10/5): I would return to Fuzhou just t stay at this fantastic hotel! - I went there expecting just another Chinese 5 star hotel but when I looked out my window..........wow...it blew me away..... the location right on the lake is absolutely wonderful. There is a boardwalk right from the hotel and it circumnavigates this beautiful lake. The short circuit is approx. 3 kilometres and the longer one 5 kilometres.....both a fabulous walk or jog. The views are ever changing and in the evening it even gets better with everything lit up like a giant fairy-tale. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent and with service to match, the room is just perfect and the check-in staff on the counter are most efficient and friendly. From the hotel it is a short walk into the action where there are many restaurants to choose from....... Incredible that Fuzhou which is virtually unknown has so much to offer.
- sifugarry (10/5): Lakeside Hotel Fuzhou - Excellent Hotel. Directly opposite a massive lake which lights up at night. The Fuzhou Ferris wheel can be seen across the Lake, all illuminated at night. The rooms are fantastic. Very large, with wireless and ethernet availability. Breakfast is certainly adequate and the Reception and Concierge is second to none. Highly recommended. I would not stay anywhere else if visiting Fuzhou.
- Hisgurl2015 (10/5): Beautiful setting and very good service - Stayed here on an adoption trip with my two 8 yr old boys. We stayed in a suite which was very nice with ample room and had the most beautiful view of the lake and the mountains. The buffet breakfast was very nice and the service was very accommodating. We ventured out a few times to walk around the lake on the boardwalk right outside the front of the hotel. The outside pool was not in use because it was winter. The bowling alley was not working and game room in the basement was not very good. I would recommend this hotel for a nice place to stay.
- KonVat (4/5): Dissapointing - We stayed there last year and we had a great stay but this year a different story. We heard that the hotel had been renovated but certainly the room we were given was n't! It was only after they heard us calling another hotel that they upgraded us. It is a pity. The hotel is in a great location with great view of the lakes but the service need to be improved.
- Zhongjian (8/5): Reasonable priced with a lake side view hotel. - Convenient location with walking and jogging lakeside Hotel.room is big and needs some remodeling.air condition is sub par.Buffet for breakfast and lunch is good. Lots of varieties and catered to all walks of life.
