Guest Reviews
- Traveler26899879206 (6/5): Good but noisy - The breakfast is awesome, the staff friendly and the location is great. However, the rooms are not well insulated and as a result you can hear everything that your neighbours are saying.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - A very relaxing place to stay. Staff were wonderful and very helpful in booking activities and transportation.
- Sally Anne (10/5): - Peaceful and quiet with staff so helpful with activity bookings. The rooms were very comfortable and decorated with local African artwork. Breakfast was superb, as were lunches and staff so friendly. Felt like a guest in someone’s home with only 14 rooms. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Victoria Falls!
- Mark (10/5): - This a small property with incredible charm and hospitality. Breakfast is always excellent with a wide variety of options on the menu. They also offer lunch and dinner with great choices. The pool is small but refreshing in a quiet and calming setting. The staff are very friendly with great recommendations on local restaurants, transportation, and activities.
- mfitzp665891 (10/5): Very comfortable - Our stay at Nguni lodge was faultless. The staff were professional, helpful and polite. Room was clean and comfortable and well situated.
- choffm757400 (10/5): Nguni Lodge stay - Lovely lodge, nice rooms and garden with a pool.
The personnel were very welcoming and helpful.
Quiet hotel and surroundings.
- kellycarlin (10/5): Great Stay - Lovely place to stay, staff were very helpful and friendly, rooms clean and adequately equipped, lovely little pool, nice and quiet, food was great too!
- Brian (10/5): - Great property and super nice service. The breakfast was good. They helped coordinate our taxis and our excursions. Was a little noisy at the neighboring properties on Friday and Saturday night. The roof doesn’t deaden the sound that much
- Lynn (6/5): - This is like having a private room in a hostel. VERY basic. Walls are paper thin. At night, I heard the conversations of guests in the next room. No phone in room to call the office staff. A chair in room, but no light near it to read. Bare light bulbs over night tables, so I couldn't read in bed either. No bottled water available. They say the tap water is filtered, but I wasn't comfortable drinking it. No curtain in shower area and no shelf, table, or sink top to place toiletry items in bathroom. No tissues provided. 3 hangars on a bar to hang clothes. Breakfast food is minimum. The worst part is that you have to take taxis to go anywhere outside the lodge. Each taxi cost $10. That adds up. Better to spend a little more for a room at a lodge that has free taxi service into town.
- Mike (10/5): - Lodge was clean and kept well. The staff was great and were super friendly. It was close to the local attractions and they arranged transportation for us. That turned out to be super helpful.
- Colin (10/5): - We were well looked after, good comfortable room and easy by cheap taxis to get around
- LeeG518 (8/5): - Rooms are clean and spacious. Beds are comfortable with soft pillows. Duvet/Doona with a top sheet.
Shower is step into hob with rain style shower head.
Power points use UK type G plus USB outlets.
A small bar looks over the pool area, and their breakfast and Dinner menus offer enough variety if you don’t want to go back into town. Taxi into town costs US$5. Same day laundry is available for US$10 per bag.
Staff are lovely and helpful
- gtalho138898 (10/5): Great lodge! - Nguni lodge was a great option for my husband and I, it was quiet, clean and the staff was helpful. Breakfast was great. I would definitely come back!
- Linzi (10/5): - A lovely one night stay. Perfect for what I needed
- Wendy (10/5): - Very friendly and very helpful in a lovely quiet location
- Tsitsi (10/5): - This is the true heart of Zimbabwean hospitality. The beds are so comfortable and the pillows fluffy! The facilities are well kept and the staff extremely polite and friendly. I will truly return!!!
- TRICIA (8/5): - Had a pleasant stay with pleasant staff. Quite, neat, cosy.
- mik9999888777 (8/5): Nice stay but breakfast could be better - The lodge is clean and quiet, some 2km from the town and 2.5km from the falls.
The only weak point is the breakfast - the choice is limited and the warm food (scrambled eggs etc.) is not good. The price for the stay is very high, so the breakfast could definitely be better.
- Joy (10/5): A great place - Very restful place to stay, with rooms set round a pool area. Nice ambiance and wonderful friendly staff. Helped us organise dinner cruise and taxis.
- 1014LisaT (10/5): Lovely stay - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nguni Lodge. Our cabana was clean and comfortable, the grounds were beautiful, and staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
- Stephen (10/5): - Really enjoyed our stay at Nguni Lodge. Accommodation was very comfortable and the staff always willing to help with booking taxis and our helicopter flight. Included breakfast was very good.
- Mark (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at Nguni Lodge for 2 nights. The place is beautiful and the lodge is very quiet. Rooms are spacious and I loved the warm water of the showers coming back after a long day. Staff always was ready to help. Breakfast was good. We 100% recommend this place.
- Daniel (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Rooms were spacious and clean. Relaxing vibes.
- Kimiko (6/5): - The neighborhood was a bit loud at night, the staff was very kind and helpful. They accommodated an early check in for us which was so wonderful.
- irobin387523 (10/5): Comfortable Stay at Vic Falls - Lovely smallish property with about 10 rooms, most leading onto the pool and peaceful garden. Quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of Vic Falls, which is within 20 minutes walking distance. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Recommended
- estavr300938 (10/5): Great experience at Nguni Lodge - I stayed as a solo traveller at Nguni Lodge in May 2025. The hotel is beautiful, well-maintained and very clean. The staff very polite and friendly, always smiling and eager to assist with anything. Good breakfast, slightly small dinner menu. Definately recommended.
- andreagP9034XF (6/5): Beautiful Zimbabwe - Very nice pleasant place with a lot of experience to have Love the Falls and the train trip over the bridge and all the view.
- SHARON (10/5): - Wonderful service at a quiet and beautiful property! Very pleased!
- Martin (10/5): Great Stay - It was a nice stay. Although, the shower pressure was not really giving it for me. Otherwise, great stay. Also, I was on my own and had breakfast for two. I was requesting if i can also have pancakes on top of my other order - the server wasn’t to keen to fulfill this reasonable request.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely place - Staff were so helpful, getting us transportation wnd booking a tour the night before, very attentive. Breakfast is very nice, as is the dinner. Room was clean and well kept, would visit again.
- David (10/5): - Very nice property with great staff.
- Brian (10/5): - Rooms were spacious and clean
Staff were extremely helpful
We used the pool every day after our tours and that was very welcoming
- lpalon582285 (10/5): Holiday - Very nice accomodation. Friendly staff and also very helpful. Transportation to the falls, restaurants and other intresting places were organized quickly. We enjoyed our stay and the beautiful nature in Victoria Falls
- florance03 (10/5): Very comfortable - Fabulous place, very comfortable with everything you need. Staff were helpful and the breakfast menu is fabulous
It could have done with a small fridge in the room and a hairdryer that worked but other than that it was excellent
The pool was lovely and towels were provided
- william (10/5): - Lovely pool area, friendly staff
- MGPAJP (8/5): Great choice when visiting Victoria Falls. - Another gem. We were welcomed warmly. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. Meals were tasty and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend it,
The gardens were well maintained and the pool clear and inviting.
- Grumpy-Weegie (4/5): Not a good experience - I had high hopes for Nguni Lodge after reading the reviews and seeing the photos but was sadly left disappointed. The staff are excellent but the lodge needs to improve its overall standard for modern needs. The rooms could do with a chair or two in them. The only chairs were outside on the terrace and when it rained, the fabric got soaking wet and were not usable. I frequently had to lie on the bed during the day.. The rooms could also do with a fridge - the temperature was in the high 30s and having a cold drink to hand would have been wonderful. There was water supplied but this was 'purified' and left in a jug on a table. I didn't trust it at all and bough bottled water in the town. The public areas were clean and well maintained and the pool was most welcome after a hard day out and about. The breakfasts were pretty good but the evening meals were of a poor standard and not worth the money. Given a choice, I wouldn't stay here again.
- charleskU2717PC (10/5): Birthday and proposal in Vic Falls in October 2024 - Our stay at the Nguni Lodge in October 2024 great, the booking and specific requirements were set up easily through the online reservation and messaging team through Booking.com.
The choices of room were amazing with both rooms facing the pool, we managed to take a quick swim in the hot weather whenever possible nearly everyday.
The check in went smoothly, with us being allowed to access our rooms slightly earlier than allowed; the location is close enough to town for activities, but also very quiet at night for a good nights sleep.
The breakfasts we had were filling, setting us up for our days filled with activities; we had dinner one night when there, the meals we ordered between us were tasty and well prepared by the chef.
The Nguni team helped us with the booking of the sunset dinner cruise and Boma Dinner experience, both went ahead without hitch, we especially enjoyed the sunset dinner cruise as it was a birthday and a proposal wrapped into one.
We will definitely recommend the Nguni Lodge and their team to anyone traveling to Victoria Falls, thanks for the special birthday treatment by the team.
- Ali921 (8/5): It's a place to unwind and relax. - It's located in a very quiet area. It's important to know that it doesn't match the quality of the international hotel chains but offers a quaint service. Dinner has to be prebooked and ends about 7.30pm with the bar closing around 9pm. With no TV it's a place to unwind and relax. Good security and like most accommodations they offer plenty of activities which you can book.
- Deserene (10/5): - Wonderful lodge or boutique hotel. Very nice room, comfortable accommodations, including an outdoor pool. Excellent service, close to Victotia Falls, restaurants, shopping, transportation/ tours available upon request.
- Joyce (10/5): - The Nguni was very pleasant, the front desk was very helpful. It had a small pool & breakfast was good, you chose from the breakfast menu & they prepare it for you. All of the staff were wonderful. You had to take a taxi everywhere since it is a bit out of town, but it was inexpensive $5usd one way into town. $10usd round trip.
- Mervyn (8/5): - Very quiet and relaxing. Excellent staff.
- kbosveld (10/5): Comfotable, charming and top-notch staff - The Nguni Lodge was the hotel booked through our Charm-level Exoticca trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe, and we were very pleased. Fortunately, when originally booking, we were able to add 3 additional days at Nguni so we could enjoy more of what Victoria Falls has to offer.
Nguni Lodge is located in a neighbourhood of Victoria Falls that is outside the tourism ‘downtown’ but where many of the tourist lodges are located. Nguni only has 14 rooms, and is situated on lovely grounds with plenty of African charm, mature trees and a small pool. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with excellent air conditioning and mosquito nets around the bed (no mosquitos at the time of our visit). Our room did not have a hair dryer, but I simply asked at reception and was given one. The staff are all very friendly, courteous and helpful.
Because Nguni has just 14 rooms, the breakfast is ordered from a menu with standard choices (eggs and bacon, omelets, French toast, pancakes, etc.). Dinner is also available from the hotel restaurant but you need to select in advance, since the number of dinner guests can be small since visitors are often on evening game drives or the Zambezi river dinner cruise.
A month or more before arriving, I emailed Bridget, a manager at Nguni, and she was extremely helpful with suggesting and arranging excursions. Can’t say enough about the great service she provided, which definitely added to the enjoyment of our visit.
Nguni’s location is ideal as excursions pick you up, and all you need is nearby, or it’s a $5 cab ride into downtown. We walked it one day – about 30 minutes. Given that Falls admission is $50 US it’s not something you do repeatedly. One trip to run the gauntlet of vendors on souvenir alley is sufficient.
Just up the street from Nguni, about two short blocks away, is a lovely local restaurant (Social Kitchen) with great wood oven pizza and a superb lentil salad, plus other excellent food, $3 beer and $5 wine. Next door is the Seven To 11 store – don’t let the name fool you, hours are roughly 8 AM to 6 PM. Night time walking is not recommended – not because of crime, but because of wild animals. All the lodges are walled and gated to protect guests. There was elephant dung just outside the gate one morning.
There were a number of other Exoticca travellers in our group that stayed at Nguni, and we were all very impressed and very pleased. Staff take great pride in the facility, and in ensuring guests have a comfortable and pleasant stay.
Thanks again, Bridget and Nguni team.
- caren (10/5): - Bridget and staff are so nice. The room is gorgeous. I wished could of stayed longer. Caren
- 151kudan (8/5): Nice lodge in a tranquil environment - The lodge is conveniently located in a tranquil neighbourhood that is close to town, the Victoria Falls and other places of interest. The staff is friendly and professional. Although I only had simple and quick breakfasts during my stay because I was always in a rush in the mornings, I appreciated the service very much. I discovered they have no TVs in the rooms but one at the bar. However, this was not a problem as their WIFI was reliable should one need to watch any movies or series.
- vndlov447926 (10/5): Lovely Setting - The lodge was a perfect place for us to unwind after a busy day either touring the Waterfalls or from a game drive. The deco at the lodge was nice and quirky reminding us of the traditional Nguni tools and artifacts used back in the day.The lodge was also peaceful and secure and served lovely English breakfast.
- Deanne (10/5): - This property was quite serene and quiet. I felt really safe and would definitely return and recommend to friends. The lodge is beautifully decorated with authentic African furniture.
- stilli954375 (10/5): Incredible - Could not rate this lodge highly enough. Staff so attentive. So peaceful, so well kept. A little gem!!
- StayRock81 (10/5): It feels like home...nice lodge - Nice and welcoming lodge. Clean rooms and friendly staff, ready to accommodate every request. Thank you to everyone, the reception, the bar and restaurant, the guard and cleaning staff. We couldn't ask for anything better.
Roberto and Daniela
- M3624ULrogerb (10/5): Lovely Place to Stay - We had a great time at Nguni Lodge. Very peaceful and intimate, the staff were really friendly and helpful. Rooms were lovely and there was a really nice ambience. Thoroughly recommend.
- Rebecca (8/5): - It was a lovely lodge. The staff were helpful and the food was very nice. They kept the property dry nice and got our room ready very quickly. They were very accommodating and the pool was also nice
- 419jacquip (10/5): Felt like home - Felt like 'coming home' at the end of each day. The rooms were comfortable, and we slept very well. The staff were friendly and helpful. Laundry was $10 a bag, and was returned the same day. which was a great deal. Special mention to Blessing, who is just a really nice guy, and who always set us up with taxi's and gave us advice on where to go. Breakfasts and lunches were cooked to order and were delicious. The gardens are well tended and everywhere you look there are little touches that add that little something extra. Highly recommend!
- Stephanie (10/5): - We stayed for one night and really enjoyed the peaceful setting of thisxlodge. A couple km away from the busyness and craziness close to the falls, this was like a little piece of heaven. Still close enough to take a cheap txi ride to the falls.
The room was very nicely decorated, the bathroom too. It was spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable.
- lazydaysagain (10/5): Delightful small lodge with wonderful people - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of 6 nights at Nguni lodge. The people are warm, friendly and provide excellent service. Our room was very comfortable and we slept so well every night. The grounds and gardens are peaceful and pretty with a lovely small pool. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order with a good range of choices- everything we ate was delicious.
I would highly recommend this lodge as a peaceful base when visiting Vic Falls
- Doug (10/5): - A rustic, clean, comfortable game lodge with 4 tents. The game rangers plus staff are all 5 star. And ni wifi, and no electricity brings everything back to real life in the bush.
- Sandra (10/5): - Staff were excellent, room clean and comfortable
- David (8/5): - Wonderful property and staff.
- Diane (10/5): - The staff at Nguni were fantastic. They arranged transport for us when needed (the lodge is not too far from the falls, but not walkable in the heat) and were generally very friendly and kind.
- Veronica (6/5): Would not return - We needed more upfront information on extra costs such as how much extra person in the room and the taxi from the airport. The lack of communication on these was unfortunate. Abrasive responses to questions such as will we have air conditioning later was uncalled for. Finally we could not even access snacks in the evening and told to go to a 7/11.
- J Scott (8/5): Nice place with very friendly staff - The staff here are so friendly and nice. Food was great. Landscapiing beautiful. My room was nice, but the walls are paper thin. I could easily follow the converstation of the couple in the room adjacent to mine. A minifridge would be wonderful so to keep some water cold.
- J Scott (10/5): Nice place with friendly staff - The lodge is very nice. Beautiful landscaping and vegetation. The staff is super friendly. Food quite good. The one thing that could make it better would be if they had a mini-fridge in the rooms to one could have cold water.
- Taesoon (4/5): - The blinds on the window were broken, letting in outside light, making it uncomfortable to sleep.
The front door is made of glass, so everyone can see inside, and you have to cover it with a curtain every time, which is inconvenient.
- Theodore R (10/5): - Great place for a nice stay at the Falls
- ELOM (10/5): - In a true sense of place and setting the place captures a safari theme surrounded by a green trees and plants just like the Victoria Falls National Park. Great staff was very helpful. Will definitely be back.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just ok. Not great. - I'm not sure how this hotel got a 9.4 rating. I thought it was just ok. Not terrible but not "fabulous". The bathroom had very little room to put any toiletries, the shower was open, so water got all over the floor. The breakfast was ik on the first day, but the girl running it on days 2 and 3 was standing in another room going TikTok videos (volume was up, so I could hear it), while items sat empty and dirty spoons and tea bags were sitting out. Tables needed to be bussed as well. The property was clean and quiet, but not located near anything.... Everything was a $5 or $10 cab ride away. Receptionists were friendly, especially when I had an issue at home that forced me to leave 2 days early. No refund, per their policy, which is totally fine with me....not their fault I had to depart.
- Belinda (10/5): - We stayed for 2 nights at the lodge in August .
Very friendly and accommodating staff . Super comfy and huge beds and lovely quiet surroundings
- Dan (10/5): - The staff was very helpful in setting up outings and selected good organizations for these outings. Meals at the lodge were good and all the staff were friendly and helpful.
- Linda (8/5): - Basic accommodations with optional add-on for dinner.
- Simardeep (8/5): - Nguni lodge provided a good home base and safe haven for us. Rooms are relatively big. Do not waste money on the deluxe option as the regular rooms are somehow roomier than the deluxe and the pool view isnt worth paying extra for. The reception staff can get you reservations and transpoetations to any activities to wish to enjoy. Breakfast staff was GREAT! T! They helped keep us in schedule each morning and provided great food!
- Connie (10/5): - Loved the people and enjoyed the restaurant down the street.
- Phillip (10/5): - Nguni lodge is a quaint comfortable place to stay in the Victoria Falls area. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant serves a hot breakfast that is included, as well as nice choices for lunch and dinner.
- Sarah (10/5): - The staff were so nice & everything was wonderful. I’d recommend for a quiet holiday.
- Ariane (10/5): - Quiet, secluded lodge which was a lovely refuge for a few days. Brigit, Primrose and all the staff were superb, kind and super accommodating booking transfers and day trips for us which we loved. Restaurant/bar was simple but adequate. Only thing we missed was a little fridge but really no issue. Make sure to budget to take taxis everywhere, there's little within walking distance.
Alternative dinner location was Reynardo's (I think it has a different name though) a 5 min walk. Excellent food.
- Lesley Diane (10/5): - Definitely recommend, especially if youre after a quiet, relaxing holiday. The staff are all extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Will be staying here again if we ever return to Victoria Falls.
- Natalie (10/5): A Cute Place with Amazing Staff - The Nguni Lodge was great! All of the staff were so amazing. Whenever we had questions, they were always able to help us out from tour recommendations to transportation.
- Mohamed (6/5): - great accomodation and friendly staff but poor food quality and limited options served by their kitchen
- Olivia (10/5): - The staff was super!!!
Location a bit isolated.
- Penelope (10/5): - The staff were super friendly and helpful. The Lodge itself was lovely, beautiful environment, lovely pool area. Rooms were spacious with full mosquito netting over the beds. Bathroom was a good size with a large walk in shower.
Comfy lounge area to relax in and excellent breakfast provided. I would stay there again if in Victoria Falls.
- Taichi (10/5): - All the staff were super friendly. Breakfast and dinner was great with very short waiting time until it gets served.
Little distance from the town but 20min walking was not an issue to us. if need a taxi only 5USD.
Surprisingly almost no mosquito! we found one but that was it for 3 nights.(we stayed early April)
- Carla Y. (10/5): - The staff are friendly and helpful. They take the time to help you plan your excursions. All the staff greets you when the see you. The food was good.
- Constantinos (10/5): - Very friendly
Great service
- Stephen (10/5): Clean and co foerable. A but far from town. - A bit far from town but the room was great and staff perfect. Comfortable and clean. Great setting.
The hotel does laundry for $10/bag and lets you run a tab for tours, taxi, and activities which makes booking tours much much easier. Would 110% recommend to others.
- mitch (8/5): Nice place to stay - It was very comfortable. Staff was fantastic
- Jagdev (8/5): - Very helpful and wonderful staff,
Could use good chair inside the rooms, also if possible , small FRIDGE and SAFE to keep the stuff locked inside.
- Dustin (10/5): - Overall great place. Rooms were nice and comfortable. Staff was friendly! Food was great! Thank you for making our trip memorable.
- Melissa (10/5): - Everyone was very helpful a
- Glorify (10/5): - Everything
- Sara (10/5): - A quiet oasis in the close to Victoria Falls. Clean and comfy, great staff, sparkling pool and amazing showers!
- Ann (10/5): - Loved that it only has 14 guest rooms, beautiful garden setting and wonderful staff.
Great breakfasts, and the convenience of being able to have dinner there made it a very relaxing stay.
- Sifelani F (10/5): - The property was well kept and staff was amazing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful facilities and clean.
- Ani (10/5): - Lovely lodge, quiet , relaxing atmosphere, very helpful staff, good food , offered and took care of my tours. Above and beyond d helpful ..
Good location.

I highly recommend this lodge.
- Don (10/5): - Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Quite and nice grounds.
- Stephen (8/5): - The only problem was the strong smell of chemicals from the thatched roof
- Verified traveler (8/5): - very nice stay. The staff were extremely helpful and also warm and friendly. It is a comfortable small hotel not too far away from town.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is a nice boutique lodge with all amenities. Great staff who go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. They have onsite vehicles and ho can drop you and pick you up. Very convenient.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Place - will stay again - great place. very friendly and helpful staff - with luggage, cabs, breakfast.
just a few KMs from downtown - easy access to shopping, restr and the falls/
