The household staff was not up to stuff. They performed as a five star staff should perform only one in three nights. The restaurant is not at all what one should expect from this category of hotel. It is a cafeteria, and not a good one although the restaurant staff was extremely helpful and friendly

Only very small con was I couldn’t get much water flow out of the bathroom tap no matter how I tried and I’m not sure if the air in would be cool enough in the heat of the summer. Just a thought and not a moan. Food at breakfast was lovely with some fizz & port too. Great location too

Breakfast was another highlight, offering a wide and high-quality selection, even including Porto wine—something you don’t often see. It truly felt like a 5-star experience. We had to check out very early in the morning, and the hotel thoughtfully prepared a breakfast box for us, which was a nice touch and much appreciated. Overall, a fantastic stay. The staff, particularly Alex, Barbara and Philipe were so welcoming and helpful. The room we stayed in was spacious and exceptionally clean and well tended throughout our stay. Complimentary items were provided throughout our weeks stay including Port wine and pastries! Highly recommend this hotel and its exceptional value for money. Five stars all the way from us!

- 30Grimaldi (10/5): Somewhere special to go - This is stylish hotel and right in the middle of Porto and so very accessible to public transport, great shops, restaurants and the tourist trail sights and the river. Our bedroom was good but as the air handling system in the corridor directly outside of the bedroom was very noisy we had to change rooms. Beware of room 113. The good point was that the hotel staff suggested the room change without even being asked to do so. They were extremely helpful, polite and courteous. For our first night we dined in the hotel restaurant, all was fine but had to pay for the bread rolls and olive oil, the waiter just brought them and did not mention the price of 10 euros. Had we known we'd have declined it. So beware of the extras. Otherwise the hotel was pretty much perfect and we'd happily stay there again and 100% recommend it. The breakfast offerings were plentiful but oh they so need to invest in a rotary toaster as the machine they have is hopeless.

We were given the chance to upgrade to allow access early morning to a room which was wonderful. Although the roadworks are very noisy, the double glazing is good enough that it does not disturb you the staff are so helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Good sized bathroom.Large windows that could be opened for ventilation if it’s warm. Some street/traffic noise at night but if you’ve walked as much we did you’ll be too tired to be disturbed by it. Very friendly and helpful staff,especially Alex on Reception. Good breakfast choices to suit all dietary needs. Hope to return in the future.

Em um dos dias, deixaram uma surpresa no quarto: uma torta e vinho do Porto, além de bilhetes super atenciosos. O café da manhã é bom no geral, mas tem produtos que poderiam ter melhor qualidade (como os bolos, por exemplo). Apesar de muito simpáticos, não havia uma banheira disponível pro meu filho, de 1 ano e 7 meses. Só foi providenciada quase no fim da estadia. Poderiam também disponibilizar um microondas na área do restaurante.
- 20jacopoc (8/5): Beautiful property in a prime location, but not quite a flawless 5-star experience - I stayed at Pestana – A Brasileira Hotel for three nights and booked an Executive Room, which was undoubtedly spacious and generously sized. The room featured large floor-to-ceiling windows with a lovely city view; however, it was a pity that they were locked and could not be opened. Despite their size, this still created a slight sense of confinement. There were a few minor issues at the beginning of our stay, particularly at reception when locating the reservation, as well as some inconvenience regarding housekeeping. We were informed that rooms could be serviced as late as 5 p.m., which, in my opinion, is rather unusual and quite late for a hotel of this category. It means that guests can only fully enjoy a refreshed and tidied room towards the late afternoon or evening. That said, when I kindly requested to have the room cleaned earlier (around 1 p.m.), the staff were both courteous and efficient in accommodating our request, which was very much appreciated. Breakfast was good, although not particularly memorable. The hotel’s main strengths are certainly its excellent central location, the comfort and size of the room, and perhaps surprisingly, the fragrance throughout the property. It may sound like a small detail, but both the hotel and the city of Porto seemed to be defined by wonderfully pleasant scents, which added to the overall atmosphere. I am giving it 4 stars because, for a 5-star hotel, there are still a few small aspects of customer service and attention to detail that could be refined in order to make the experience truly exceptional.

- Witold (8/5): Ogólnie bardzo dobry hotel, naprawdę godny polecenia - Śniadania bardzo dobre, choć w ładnej jadalni mało miejsca jak na tak duży hotel, teraz w marcu było na styk, w pełni sezonu zapewne jest problem. W pokoju torebki z herbatą nieuzupełniane, butelka wody też raz nie była dostarczona

- 26peach (10/5): Superb hotel in a great location. - 3 night stay, beautiful hotel, great history, fantastic location a short walk from Sao Bento train station (which is worth a visit). Central and within walking distance to practically all tourist sites. Breakfast was great, everything fresh and continually well stocked. All types of coffee to order. I enjoyed hot chocolate. Beautiful bar to enjoy a glass of wine after a busy day and 10% off food and drink if a guest of hotel. Executive bedroom was well appointed and very comfortable with a pillow menu. Freshly made up daily and replenished with water. Staff were all welcoming and friendly. It was a pleasure to stay here. Highly recommended.

- Mobile687226 (10/5): Champagne in the sunshine, Porto style! - I stopped for a glass of champagne in the sunshine and this is the perfect spot! I was served by Barbara Fonseca and she is such a super friendly, super warm, super attentive member of the F&B team. (Truly, a consummate professional). I appreciate her taking the time to chat and recommend places to visit during my Porto trip and my extended my thanks to her for bringing a smile to my day. I cannot recommend A Brasileira or Barbara highly enough!

- alunw522 (10/5): A Jewel in Porto’s crown - If you are visiting Porto, I would highly recommend this hotel, it is excellent, its location is ideal for exploring the city or for travelling further afield. The staff are extremely attentive, friendly and helpful. The rooms are so well equipped, the beds are without doubt the most comfortable hotel I’ve ever slept in! The proprietors of this hotel have a real eye for detail and this helps make your stay the best it can be. The breakfast is outstanding with lots of choice and excellent coffee…. My only criticism is the second lift was often not working…. All in all, there was a party of 10 and we have all promised to return

- TheAlexanders100 (10/5): Charming hotel in a Central location - Lovely hotel with extremely friendly and professional staff. Central location between Bolhao and Sao Bento stations meaning most attractions are easily walkable. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. Our room was big enough and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel has a small gym and you can get free coffee throughout the day. Highly recommended!
