- Hogan (7/5): - Location Room was old and smelly, sensor lights kept me awake all night. Noisy, sounded like tables being moved at 1am.
- Haran (10/5): Excellent - Great staff
Comfy bed
Very clean room
- Leonie Franey (6/5): - Location We could not go to our room until after 9,pm due to vibration caused by kitchen fans below.

- Elizabeth (10/5): Great location in Hamilton - rooms very comfortable (especially the bed), very clean, minimal noise. - Great location for my purposes as I was attending a Wedding nearby and could walk back to hotel.
The room was fantastic, everything you could want and more - ceiling fan, air conditioning, TV, a real ironing board and iron, mini fridge, electric kettle etc etc and VERY CLEAN. The bed was sooooo comfortable, I wish it could've fit in my backpack! Minimal noise from hotel below.
Dinner in restaurant was DELIICIOUS, especially the Guinness Pie and Mash....

- Paul (9/5): - Great staff, location and atmosphere. Rooms and bathrooms very clean.
- David (8/5): Nice venue. Don't appreciate paying twice though. - Venue was great Don't appreciate getting charged twice for the room.
Upon arrival, I used booking.com to try to book and pay for a room. After going through the process, I received a msg that the room was no longer available, so I paid cash ($125) to the hotel directly. Now I see that my bank account has been billed by booking. Com for $115. I should be refunded.
- Phil (8/5): -
- Sally (6/5): Good. Will return. - Good location. Clean rooms. The rooms whilst clean are very dated.
- James (7/5): -
- Miriam (9/5): Excellent value for money - I love staying here. The location is excellent, and the value for money is darn good. The room I booked (ensuited, with a Queen and a single bed) is large and comfortable, the water pressure is good, and (given that it's a pub and on the main street) it's not noisy. They provide complimentary bottled water, and the room is bright and airy. This is the 5th time I have stayed there, and will stay again. Be aware that you will have to climb a flight of stairs with your bags, and the nearest all day free parking is a couple of streets away. These aren't problems, but something you might need to know.

- mark (8/5): ill be back as it was great - central to everything i was doing shower a bit dirty
- Darren (10/5): Value for money. - The room was very clean. A good size. The staff were excellent. No complaints. Maybe asking too much but a bar fridge to keep drinks cold would have been appreciated.
- Paul (5/5): - Close to all the pubs and clubs in the area No parking. Had to park on the street. No breakfast available, couldn't turn the fan up it was on 1 or off. Pigeons on the roof early in tge morning making a racket made it hard to sleep.
- Edmund (6/5): -
- Mutombeni (6/5): -
- FJS Gibson (8/5): Comfortable and convenient - Great location. Good pub. Enjoyed the guitarist and singalongs in the bar. Close to Hamilton station to get home and buses straight to the beach and Newcastle cbd. of course it was noisy as Saturday night but we were prepared for that and not too bad.
- Liesl (8/5): The staff at the hotel and restaurant were all lovely . Room was clean shared bathroom was also very clean. - Room was what I expected for the price It was easy to access and clean
- Kristie (8/5): -
- MacLean (7/5): -
- Wang (10/5): Nice stay - Great location and wonderful service! The staff here are extremely friendly — they always greet you with a warm smile and are genuinely happy to help with any request. Their attitude made our stay feel very comfortable and welcoming. Highly recommended!
- Harry (8/5): -
- Mark (10/5): - The staff were lovely, very central to the Newcastle Entertainent Centre and great food. The A/C needed a dust down. Other than it was great.
- Darren (8/5): - convenient nothing
- Nathan (10/5): -
- Katie (10/5): -
- elorah (8/5): loved the room, was quite, spacious, clean and convenient location - it was super cute, old but modern feel the check out process was unclear
- Leigh (9/5): Value for money, clean and comfortable. - The room was very clean and quiet. The mattress was a little too first but the pillows were excellent. The Aircon worked a treat. The communal/shared bathroom was very clean and well situated. Water in the fridge?
- Holly (10/5): Very enjoyable - For pub rooms and shared bathroom they were very clean and tidy The noise, would be worth looking into some sound suppression.
- Madison (10/5): - Great location
- Mellor (9/5): -
- Mark (10/5): Great place to stay. - Great location, very clean, very comfortable. Great food and drink. Very central. Nothing
- Tammy (8/5): Good location, good room and friendly staff. - It was a great location, great amenities and close by everything. No onsite parking and could hear the music and people being loud until 3am into Sunday morning.
- Steven (8/5): Grand stay great craic - Location, staff and Guinness
- Jan (7/5): -
- Scott (10/5): - The quality of the accommodation was excellent Nothing not to like
- Dale (6/5): - Good size room, loved having my own bathroom in pub, shower/titles a bit dirty.
There was NO facewasher and NO teaspoon for our coffee. They could have king or queen size bed instead of double. Great location but extremely difficult to find carpark. Rough area at night time on weekend. Cheap accommodation.
- Minji (7/5): Valuable accommodation for one night with reasonable price and good location - Good location, friendly staff, various cafes and restaurants around accommodation Noise until late night from the bar, no sound proof between rooms, dirty sink, damp smell in the room
- Phil (8/5): - The checkin service was excellent. Room was a large comfortable room for the night. Unfortunately the bathroom wash basin was not very practical for adult hands. Location was excellent & the dining room was great with good selection of dinner meals options.
- Robert (7/5): -
- Guy (8/5): - A great 1-night stay.
- Guy (8/5): - Great two night stay in lively area
- Chloe (10/5): - Great location with everything you need all around you. Affordable for basic accommodation. Quick easy check in and out
- John (10/5): - Simple, comfortable and affordable accommodation.
- Justine (10/5): - Quiet, clean, and convenient place to stay. Was surprised by the communal bathroom/toilets but they were very clean. It's an old style hotel which might not suit some people. We enjoyed our stay.
- Cassanda (8/5): Great find and would definitely stay again - We loved the comfort of the beds, the location of the property and the meals were great in the dining room downstairs When we pulled back the sheets we found the bottom sheet had a big stain on it. You could tell the sheets had been washed but I'm an Airbnb host and there is no way I would continue to make the bed with that on it. Highly noticeable.
- Tony (8/5): - cool
- Mitchell (3/5): Nothing to rave about. Wouldn’t rush back. - Not Much. Small bathroom not fully cleaned, Bright light in window. And very noisy and got very little to no sleep
- Barbara (6/5): - The staff attitude excellent when change of room requested. Amenities in the room not good enough - no plates, dishes for breakfast, only 1 dessert spoon - no teaspoons - it was a three person room (1 queen, 1 single bed). Toilet paper terrible - like very thin tissue paper. Only one spare blanket. No lift, only stairs so not really suitable for elderly people. Advert needed to be clear this was essentially a pub hotel.
- Lesley (8/5): Loved Pints of Guiness - Location Shower over bath
- Chris (10/5): Great location, Clean and comfortable. - Great location and value Hall ways are a little dark.
- sean (10/5): - Great little room (with en suite)
- Esther (7/5): -
- Price (7/5): Cheap and Cheerful! Ticks all the boxes - Great location for Newcastle Entertainment Centre. Bonus of enjoying the live entertainment in the pub when we got back to the Hotel.
- Peter and Sharon (10/5): - Great service
- Luke (10/5): -
- Luke (10/5): -
- Leanne (7/5): -
- Fiona (8/5): - Reading the previous reviews, the room cleanliness and size is great.
The loud exhaust from the restaurant vibrated through the floor but the staff were very kind and empathetic and let me know it finishes when the restaurant closes around 9 o’clock so it didn’t bother me too much.
Parking is easy along the street as long as you’re not there within business hours which we weren’t
Location is ideal for many dining options and proximity to the City area
- Kim (8/5): Great place to stay if you only need somewhere to sleep for the night, clean and tidy and comfortable. - Pub is in a great location with plenty of food choices.
- Michael (10/5): - Easy pub access from room for quick late night entry
- David (9/5): -
- Mick (10/5): -
- Damir (8/5): Good Hotel - Good hotel but no parking. Be even better if the kettle was cleaned once in a while........
- Bennett (9/5): - Really quiet compared to other pubs - I'm a light sleeper and I got a great night sleep! Cigarette smoke from the courtyard comes strongly into the indoor hallways and bathroom. But luckily not the bedroom.
- Silvano (10/5): -

- Luke (10/5): -
