Cameron (8/5): Great higher end hostel - This was my first time staying at a Socialtel since Selina folded. The experience was exactly like Selina - other than the branding it was exactly the same. Value for the price was good. Room and bedding was comfortable. Hygiene products were provided in the bathroom. The common spaces (lounges, coworking space, rooftop) were all really nice.

Gustavo (10/5): - The Selina was in a great location. Our stay came with a welcome drink & breakfast which were very good! We decided to have dinner there too with our complementary drink. The food was very good & even reasonably priced for the quality! The view from scenic roof top restaurant topped it all off for a great experience! It is perfect for backpackers & weekend trips. Once checked out they will store your luggage & you are still able to shower & nap in the lobby accommodations. The staff was bilingual, welcoming & helpful!

En todo momento tuve comunicación llegue temprano y no permitieron estar en la parte de abajo pq estaba lleno y no se podia hacer early check in. En relación al cuarto excelente excepto que no tienen cortinas black out asi que esta de frente a un farol o poste de luz y toda la ncohe tuve claridad la cual no me agrado pq no descanse. Pero en localización fue la mejor. El desayuno muy bueno.

Alvin (8/5): Great location, limited amenities - The hotel is situated in an excellent location. The view from my bed faced the cathedral. Staff was limited in communication. No one shared with us the special activities or food options the hotel offered or what the local establishments offered. The hot water was a hit or miss. I was able to deal with the low pressure but not the cold shower. The bedroom was cold at times. Blankets and Towels were scarce. My friend slipped on the wet floor after a shower. No towel for the floor.

kevin (2/5): - I will be requesting my money back from Expedia for this visit for both rooms 207/208 ! No hot water in shower , only scolding hot water in the sink . The 3 rd floor is the party floor and the noise from above and in the hallways was horrible ! The staff was nice due to the horrible conditions . 95 perfect of the customers were 20 to 30 year old hippies which I don’t mind . There was no air conditioning in room so it was hot until approx 3 am and then cold after that !
Lisa (6/5): - Selina Baños, in a few words has become a Party Hotel, at least in the weekends. Let's be real I'm 24 and if I didn't have anything better to do the next day I would be partying too, but that is not always the case when traveling. The biggest mistake by the hotel is not letting us know that on Friday the party goes on until 1 am (at least now with Covid, maybe later in normal times) and after that the whole party moves to the street in front and even to the hallway. The bar on the rooftop is simply enough a functional discotheque and affects the rest of the hotel installations. Another big no for us are the rooms, which are not the cleanest, taking into account that a family room is a lot more expensive than de bunk bed rooms ($163 x 2 nights) we were expecting much more. The cleaning service came knocking at 4pm when we were resting from a busy morning, after the party Friday we understood that maybe most of the clients wake up with a hangover; the beds are all single, pretty hard and you just get a linen and a thin blanket (granted Baños isn't cold but it could be better, again for the price). Again, if I had known that it was such a party place I would have booked another. But the only information was that there was a open bar from 9pm to 10 pm and then they were going away in a Party Bus (this seems reasonable), I think they just expect you to take part of the activities. Another extra for Covid times is that no one seems to wear a face masc, or any other safety measure
Elizabeth (6/5): - we came to a Selina hotel because I had heard they were a few steps above the average hostels. Room was clean and space was cute. However the bed broke middle of the night (when we were quite literally just sleeping, no other funny business) and we had to change rooms. The other room had a way less comfortable bed that felt like a rock. We messaged on the Selina help and asked for a refund since the room was an obvious downgrade but they were not helpful. Like other reviews mentioned it was incredibly loud (and flip cup was being played / screaming occurred until 11 pm), and the concierge gave no information when I asked general questions about baños.
Rodrigo (4/5): - The property looks nice from outside, inside as well, organized and well maintained. The staff is friendly and the check in process is simple and fast. The location is very convenient since it's close to all the restaurants and tour agencies. There's no parking on site but they have an arrangement with a private parking lot for 5 dollars a night, but, since it's not always open you can't take out or leave your car anytime you want, also the 5$ will only get you 8pm to next day, if you want to park any other time in the day (if it's open) it will be 1$ per hour or fraction. Now all that being said let's discuss the rooms. The rooms would be nice if they were clean! I mean you have enough space, a table, a small closet and a full bathroom. But the curtains are so dirty (from being a bit too long and dragging on the floor, the mattress cover is stained beyond belief, the room we got(me and my wife) had a window with a street light (LED lights) RIGHT OUTSIDE! WITH NO BLACKOUT CURTAINS! It was so bad that at 2am the whole window would be bright as if it was 2pm. And last, but not least, the shower curtain, besides being ripped in some parts, HAD MOLD EVERYWHERE!!! I mean black spots all over it, so much we almost wouldn't dare to touch it. I would not recommend staying here, I landed there using my Expedia points but even at almost no cost to me it proved to be a bad experience overall.

John (8/5): - The finishes are delightful! We loved the puppy that hangs out near the front entrance. The staff was incredibly kind and them speaking English was really helpful. We loved the hot water!! Every room of the hotel has a unique charm that we really enjoyed! We kind of had the expectation from the images on the website, that our room would be larger. The room was lovely but since the images were only of the larger rooms, it was surprising. More rooms need to be included on the website with more of a description. There were also several strange noises over night. There was a constant beeping all night from the lobby. The sound is not dampened at all from any lobby sounds. The rooms get warm with the windows closed but there is a lot of street / ambient noise, including a strange whining that came from something on the roof.

Had a room away from the centre this time so it was a lot quieter until the morning as everyone parks their cars on the road outside and heard a bleep every minute which was annoying. The check-in time is really late, we were able to leave our bags arriving just before 12 but it's much nicer to have a room. It is nice but it's also quite expensive for a private room even without breakfast. There's other hotels on the same square for half the price for much the same

There are some rooms that can be a bit loud in the morning, since there are closer to the street, but the view from some standard rooms is amazing.
Verified traveler (8/5): - After staying in another Selina in Colombia I thought I'd have another try. Sadly it has similar problems. The buildings are really lovely, designed really nicely but the open space totally forgets about sound proofing. I stayed for a few nights and required ear plugs every night as beyond midnight there was still a lot of noise from both people and music, I wasn't even sharing, this from a private room! Also surprising considering the town itself felt pretty lifeless in the evenings. The cleaner must work half days I guess as she didn't visit the room in three days. The breakfast service needs work, the actual food was good but I was overcharged one morning thinking I'd asked for two drinks without the offer of refund and then the last morning after 25 minutes and completing the rest of a breakfast had to leave without the coffee I paid for as the machine takes too long to warm it up. There's another Selina in the City I'm in now, I've chosen not to stay this time...

The restaurant/bar/lounge on the top floor has great food and drinks, and a beautiful view. No need to look any further, this is the hotel to be. I will recommend it to all of my friends traveling to Baños
michael (8/5): first Selina stay! - great location right near a main square/church. Easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and bars. The place is very new but very stylishly decorated. Staff are extremely friendly and definitely make you feel welcome. Only negative was hot water took ages to heat up and also there is a road beneath that is fairly noisy on one side so probably not best for light sleepers.
