- Lynne (6/5): Disappointing - I left The Lucena after 3 hours. I needed sleep having flown overnight but the bed was ancient and extremely uncomfortable, the wi-fi kept going off, and there were only a couple of channels available on the tv. I read the reviews before I booked it and they were fine. Maybe I just had the worst room in the place? Definately would not recommend. I found a far better option in St Annes.
- Elle (10/5): Saturday night stay for illuminations - Just returned from an overnight stay at the Lucena with my partner and toddler. Arrived early and asked if we could leave our cases but we were able to check in straight away. We had room number 3 which was a double bed and bunk bed room. We had more than enough room for us all. The beds were really comfy which was definitely needed after countless walks up and down to see the illuminations and the kettle in the room was very welcomed. Hotel was in a great location and close to the attractions but was also quiet. Carlton was a lovely host and we absolutely would be booking again on our next return to Blackpool. Thanks!
- Gareth (10/5): - Carlton and Stacey were absolutely amazing and their girls too, so friendly and welcoming they made our stay perfect. A stones throw from the beach and main street made getting around so easy. We will definitely be visiting Blackpool again and staying with anyone other than Carlton and Stacey would be a crime. We loved it and we can't wait to see you again.
- Robert (6/5): - We had a great time,,hosts where fantastic,,outside could do with a clean,but so could the whole area Room was comfy onsuite a bit tight but we managed,, I felt really disheartened not because of the property but the whole area no where near how Blackpool use to be,,costs of the pleasure beach,swimming pool, tower,familes cant afford £80-£100 entrance fees When you book a B&B you expect breakfast included,,not an extra charge on top of the room charge ,this was not a problem,,but should have been noted on the Expedia web site
- Alan (2/5): - Don’t think they clean this place, bed linen has stains on it, black mould around shower, only one small towel for 2 people, taps on sink don’t work, didn’t bother having breakfast so went to a local cafe, the place is filthy, am not one for giving bad reviews, but am being honest with my stay. One night only and went and stayed at Blackpool fc.
- Graeme (10/5): A good weekend stay - Had a super budget break at this Blackpool central venue, we had our room ahead of standard checkin time and was given a stirling welcome. Room met our needs and even had tea making facilities, for the budget price we all agreed we'd stay again.

- Wendy (8/5): - Had 2,nights here with friends… does what it says on the tin…,Carlton is a great host.. nothing too much trouble…room clean.. little rough around the edges but more than ok….breakfast was lovely ..went above and beyond with this ..,full English ..buffet service… juices fresh bread… lovely fresh fruit grapes strawberries etc.. jams and marmalades…well worth the £10….would definitely stay again .

- Donna (6/5): - 😊 - The owners are lovely. There was a great atmosphere in the bar and the drinks are really reasonably priced (try the bubblegum cocktail!) The hotel is in a great location, it’s a very short walk to the promenade. There was plenty of coffee (but no decaf,) tea bags, sugar and milk, and decent sized mugs which is always good! Toiletries were supplied. The bedding and towels were clean, and the pillows were comfortable. 😕 - The hotel interior could do with sprucing up. The stair carpet was threadbare in places, woodwork paint was in dire need of stripping and redoing, as could the wall paper. One of the curtains in our room was partially hanging off the heading tape. The lino in the shower room was extremely worn, there was no plug in the sink, there was many cracks in the shower tray which had been repaired with some sort of filler and the sealant round the tray looked grimy. Whichever way I turned there was a spring in the mattress digging in my hip, this and the metal rim around the edge of the mattress made for an uncomfortable night.

- Holly (10/5): Lovely family run hotel - The owners were amazing and really welcoming. The owners went above and beyond to make our little girls 6th birthday our son didnt want to go home. The hotel felt more like home than a hotel and that made the stay even better. Breakfast was also amazing under 12's eat free and ita £10 pp per night but its all you can eat and offers soming for everyone from full english to cereals and fruit and yoghurts we will be staying here again

- Carrol (6/5): Lucena Hotel - The owners are very pleasant and a lovely family. Breakfast was good, bar was reasonably priced. The Room was for 5 people with a double bed and triple bunkbed. This room hasn't got the space for 5 people. We were super cramped trying to get dressed, etc. Had nowhere to sit other than on the end of a bed. The room was severly dated. The bathroom was awful. Mould around the shower. Little things like no plug in the sink, there were 4 plug sockets next to a mirror but there wasn't enough space under the plug socket so we couldn't plug in the hair curlers, etc. Definately family friendly, we were glad that our itinerary kept us out of the room. The Beach was really close and the B and B location was brill.
- Tim (10/5): Great budget hotel - Great budget hotel. Room small but clean and comfortable. Had everything you need. Decent location. Local shops and takeaways. Easy walk into town. Only downside : some neighbour's dog that barks loudly every morning, sometimes quite early. That's too disturbing.

- Adam (6/5): - Very basic but not terrible. Felt dirty, hairs in the beds & toilet area. Beds too small, but only small room so that's understandable. Doors banging frequently. All in all I don't think I would recommend it. Glad to be going home to be honest

- Anne (2/5): Stay away - Outside this hotel looks ok but once you start heading up the stairs with awful carpet that has obviously been down many years it just gets worse. The room had a strange smell, holes in the walls, blood stain on bedding, the carpets were so black with ground in dirt , the shower room was a disgrace. This hotel is 1 star at the most. It needs decorated badly . The bed was a spring mattress which had seen better days. We lay on top of the quilt to try get some comfort. I would not advise anyone to book this hotel. Oh and there are budgies in the bar area, my daughter has an allergy to bird feathers so maybe the hotel should put in description they have animals and birds in the property.

Games for the kids and a pool table . Plenty sockets for hairdryer,charging phones etc . Clean bedding and towels . Lots of Coffee, milk ,tea ,shampoo and soaps .

- James (8/5): Budget hotel walking distance to the town centre - I have stayed here many times but not for a couple of years and there are now new owners. The new owners have made some improvements such as a new door entry system and there is some redecoration. It’s a good budget stay.

- Tanya (6/5): Good Location and good host but very tired hotel - Lovely warm welcome, good location, good breakfast value for money wasn’t expecting a class room I’d read the reviews and read that the rooms was small and tired needs updating/decorating but they were ripped wallpaper and it was quite dirty it had not been hoovered they were hair clips on the floor ect I was I. Room 24 which was the top of the house the shower was leaking from the hose so more water was running out of that then the shower head it’s self bed was comfy but found an hair on the sheet and it wasn’t from someone’s head had a Terrible nights sleep which wasn’t the owner’s fault but they were a family with kids who was running up and down the stairs slamming doors shouting right up till 3am police was called I don’t think I’d choose this hotel to stay again sadly
