We would really recommend staying - one of the best hotels we've stayed in. The room and the hotel are decorated with so many great touches and fun. The breakfasts and the food at the Italian night were superb. There are so many great things to do and see - we loved the gara rock circular walk and the beautiful beaches. We will definitely be back.

- Ashby (10/5): Welcoming, comfortable, great food and a good location to explore the area - Really friendly welcome and really comfortable accommodation. Breakfast was amazing and the guys certainly go the extra mile to ensure a great stay. We would certainly come back if in South Devon and bring our dog next time. in a nutshell, there is nothing to dislike about this hotel.
- Mark (10/5): Fabulous place, highly recommended. Can't wait to go back to this place again in the future - Fabulous breakfast with amazing options to choose from. Attention to detail second to none. nothing
- Paul (10/5): -
- Julie (9/5): Great boutique B and B with fantastic hosts - What a fabulous find just a stones throw from Salcombe and Hope Cove🥰. Alastair and Scott have created something very special, the decor was amazing, spotlessly clean everywhere and bed was so comfortable. On top of this the breakfast was absolutely superb, highly recommend and would definitely return. Nothing
- rebecca (10/5): - Quiet cozy room , comfortable bed , delicious breakfast.
Scott provided a truely great breakfast an hour early as we had to leave for work , fantastic hospitality.
I slept well as the room was quiet overlooking the courtyard and thatched cottages beyond .The room was dark , the right temperature , slippers and dressing gown provided.
I would happily return if I need to stay in this area again . It was all good
- Tanya (10/5): Superb stay, highly recommend - Beautifully decorated
Friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts
Breakfast was excellent
- Gail (9/5): Superb - Just great. Fabulous breakfast, lovely garden area and wonderful hosts.
- Gill (9/5): Superb -
- Terence (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was exceptional and the hospitality was warm.
The room was faultless, clean and comfy, with lots of little extras. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Ali (9/5): Fabulous stay, very welcoming hosts and a wonderful environment to both relax and explore! - The hosts were so welcoming, the breakfast was incredible (best B&B breakfast I've ever had - so many choices, and such high quality!) and the house and garden are wonderfully decorated. We also took up the opportunity of hiring the hot tub for a couple of hours (which came with a bottle of prosecco), which was a lovely way to celebrate our anniversary! It's also only a 40min walk into Salcombe which meant we could stroll down without the worry of parking (and meant we could try out the many bars/pubs available)! Can't think of anything I didn't like!
- Mark (9/5): Nearly perfect. - Lovely welcome from Scott and Alistair. Best hosts of a small hotel I've ever experienced. Awesome breakfasts and lots of choice. Communal areas work really well. Lovely garden. Honesty bar with quality products. Clean towels each day. Use of dining area for takeaways if needed. We live in the country so the only room on the ground floor at the front of the hotel took some getting used to in terms of traffic.
- Venetia (10/5): Our hosts were delightful and extremely accommodating . It was spotlessly clean and the best breakfast I have ever had. - The brightham was situated in a quiet village . For once it was a totally unique look with interesting interiors, a refreshing change from the usual generic grey you get everywhere !! There was nothing not to like, it was perfect
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Everything! Amazing customer service, getting in touch beforehand to help with directions, a warm welcome, hosts always interested in our day ahead etc. The room was finished to such a high standard, clearly very well looked after and the little bits - such as toiletries, tea and coffee in the rooms - were not just your standard "little bits", for example the milk is fresh and kept in a little flask - not those little milk jiggers you usually get in hotels. The breakfast was outstanding, so much so it was probably the highlight of each day!
- Mike (10/5): 5 star experience throughout - Beautiful stylish and very comfortable. Friendly hosts nothing to much trouble. Luxurious property. Would highly recommend. Scott and Alistair really make you feel welcome and the breakfasts are amazing.
- Daniel (10/5): One of the best B&Bs we have stayed in. Incredibly welcoming hosts who went above and beyond. Also the food was incr - Hosts, food, decor n/a

- Jonathan (10/5): a wonderful stay we really enjoyed it - location good breakfasts excellent none
- Louise (10/5): A destination B&B - Unusual room - Art Deco and interesting curation of iconic 1920s events/people. Beautiful garden / dining retreat and bar and delicious breakfast with some unusual options (try 'Gone Crabbing'). Very easy bus trip to Salcombe a minute walk from the B&B, Thank you to Alistair and Scott for a lovely stay!
- Andy (10/5): Relaxing and fun with great food and welcoming and helpful hosts. - Great themes and decor for the rooms. Lovely outdoor space. Awesome breakfasts. Nothing
- Simon (10/5): Made my first trip to Devon not want to be my last. - Absolutely everything, from amazing hosts, breakfast was immense, location, incredible decor. We had to leave.
- Derek (10/5): Brilliant; just wish it had been a holiday trip rather than a work one - I had one of the best breakfasts I have ever had in my life!
- Juliet (10/5): Fabulous boutique hotel - This was a fabulous find! Fabulous rooms & amazing friendly owners who help you with tips of places & beaches to visit . Breakfast was the best I've eaten in any hotel, all freshly home cooked & a variety of choice - the pancakes & omelettes were to die for!
Loved the honesty bar too - great choices of drinks, crisps & nuts too - we will be back!
- Greenwell (10/5): Stylish seaside retreat - I felt very relaxed and safe as a solo female traveller.
Alistair and Scott work very hard at making the place a comfortable yet stylish place to stay .
Wonderful breakfasts with so much choice and a lovely dining area and garden terrace. Nothing to report here...!!!!....maybe longer running buses into Salcombe as they finish around 8 pm if you want to get an evening meal you would need a taxi back if no car.
- William (9/5): Superb - Excellent all round Nothing
- Victoria (10/5): A gem of a find … you won’t be disappointed! - Quirky , stylish clean and inviting . The property oozed character and personality which was found in every inch of the property.

The house is beautiful , with thoughtful interior design.
It’s a 30min walk into the centre of Salcombe , which we didn’t mind !

Decor certainly unique but fun. Conservatory a delight for breakfast.
Our bedroom was quite small, we knew this when booking, but it had everything you needed and more. All bathroom fittings were top quality, towels, the softest ever, and changed daily.
Alistair was the perfect host and very informative about the area.
Altogether a very memorable stay and we would stay again. Nothing.
- Carly (10/5): We’ll be back!! Thank you Scott and Alistair!! Brilliant hosts!! - The owners were fantastic, very welcoming and knew who we were by name. - Yvonne (10/5): We couldn’t recommend this highly enough. We had the perfect weekend stay and will be back. - We had the best time here. The decor is beautiful, hosts friendly and helpful, and the best breakfast we’ve had at any stay away. Perfect location for walks to Salcombe and Hope cove which is why we originally chose it. That we couldn’t stay longer
- John (10/5): Thoughtful and Caring hosts deliver a wonderful stay - Super hosts, super stay
- Sara (10/5): wonderful - it's spotless amazing hosts , amazing breakfast loved everything
- Gary (9/5): Lovely couple of days, great personal attention, friendly and professional from Scott and Alistair. Would thoroughly rec -
- Katied27 (10/5): Do not hesitate to book this B&B, everything was wonderful - The two gentleman (and their two very cute dogs) running this B&B were wonderful people. Their attention to detail was lovely, for example at breakfast talking with guests and remembering details about what they were doing the previous day and asking them about it, remembering what coffee order you like. On arrival I was given a lovely glass of sparkling rose to drink, which I did in their stunning garden watching the fish swim in the pond, idyllic.
If you are a foodie like me, you will see that the choice for breakfast goes far above and beyond standard breakfast options. Very good quality produce, delicious options and everything was so fresh and beautifully cooked. There was nothing I didn't like, however, as I was a last minute booking (thankfully they had one room left), I would like to try one of their other rooms next time.
Don't hesitate to book this B&B, you won't regret it.

Since the first step into them house you can smell all the passion and effort which they put into. Omg the brekfast was Amazing, the Bagel create dependence... lol The car park was very tiny, of course is not them fault if the guests used to park first in external places instead of the internal.

Hosts have mastered unobtrusive attentiveness, casual but professional, absolutely top notch stuff.
Will heartily recommend to all!! The onsite parking (there are free and nearby offsite options) is very tight, maybe a couple fewer spaces or a dedicated turning space would make things a bit easier.

The service they provide is second to none, from the immense and tasty breakfasts, the honesty bar, and decor, to the immaculate bedrooms, quirky, clean and with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved the 80s/90s music, the real individuality of the property, how close it is to most things in the South Hams, parking, gym, hot tub, the list of places to go by email...... wow! That the breakfasts were difficult to finish. I can't really say that there is anything worth making an issue about! Less than 5/5 would be awful.
