Guest Reviews
- Rex (10/5): - Beautifully kept apartment! Directly across the street from… The Colosseum! Max is the one you would meet on arrival. An absolutely charming wonderful individual looking to make your stay outstanding! Definitely stay here again.
- Donald (10/5): - We loved the location within sight of the Colosseum and walking distance to cafes and markets. The owners of the B & B Domus Chiara were friendly and very helpful.
- Corinn (10/5): - Our stay was wonderful. You could not get any closer to the Coliseum. Literally outside the door and down 1 block! Max is a very congenial host and gave us advice on local restaurants and transportation to the train for our next phase of trip. We would stay again and recommend to our friends. Also the breakfast down at Oppio was complimentary and just the energy we needed for our full days of sightseeing.
- Martha (10/5): - Wonderful host who had dinner recommendations and answered all our questions. Nice clean and well equipped accommodation. Thank You!
- Jessica (10/5): - The hosts were kind and hospitable. They allowed us to keep our luggage in the apartment while we toured around Rome until it was time for check in. Wonderful little piece of Rome.
- Lucas (10/5): - Que lugar espetacular!!!!
Com vista para o coliseu, bares e restaurantes por perto, além da ótima recepção do proprietário que nos tratou super bem. Se eu pudesse daria nota 100000!!!
Super recomendo
- Bridget (10/5): - Amazing location!!! Right by the colosseum. Rome is so beautiful and loved staying here
- Meaghan (10/5): - Max was an amazing host. Told us where to eat and go. The room is very private and safe. Right beside the Colosseum. He gives you a breakfast voucher for a little cafe with an amazing view right beside the colosseum! He provided a safe and a fridge with waters and snacks. The bathroom and shower are awesome. Bed was comfy and very private. We paid for parking in the street! Highly recommend.
- chris (10/5): - So close to everything “must see”. Rent scooter or bikes and be anyplace cool in 1/4 of walking time. Very accommodating host; felt very at home.
- John (10/5): - Great location - private room. Very helpful owner - extremely accommodating. Literally across from the Coliseum. Room is large, quiet and very clean. Great value.
- William (10/5): - Max was a great host! My daughter and I felt safe and used his recommendations for where to eat. He also stored our luggage for us which was so helpful! Loved the location.. perfectly situated for the entire Colosseum area! Great stay! Would definitely stay there again!
- DESIREE (10/5): - This B&B was fantastic and I will definitely re-book if we return to Rome. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Bathroom shower was exceptional! The owner was so friendly and helpful. They made wonderful recommendations of things to see and places to eat. And on top of all of that we were feet away from the Colosseum. The breakfast was at a restaurant a few feet from the house and we could not have asked for more. Delicious and plenty to eat for the price. Overall, this B&B exceeded our expectations.
- Véronique (10/5): - Merci pour l’accueil
- Andy (10/5): - Less than a block to the Collusium, lots of dining very close, and everything else very near. The host was very friendly and knowledgeable.
- Darcie (10/5): - Grazie Mille to our wonderful host! Of the four places we stayed in Europe this was our favourite. It is so convenient and close to some remarkable sights and great restaurants. I liked that it was walkable to the train station and that the host met us at the door and explained everything to us.
- Sunshine (8/5): - What a nice place to stay by the colosseum! The man who welcomed us was so informative and accommodating! He also provided snacks and drinks! Loved chatting with him and petting his dog! Would definitely stay again if we come to Rome!!
- LINDA (10/5): A wet start but a great stay! - Unfortunately it started to pour when we arrived at Colosseo stop. We had difficulty finding the property because we couldn't see. We knew we were close so popped into a little Cafe for shelter and nessaged Max. He was great. We were early and could not reach us by phone so he came to find us! The location was AMAZING and we walked everywhere from there.
- Carl (10/5): - What an excellent stay, we were very happy with our experience. Max - the host of the property - was very helpful to us and made some great suggestions about dining and transportation while in Rome. The building is located very close to the coliseum and the included breakfast was wonderful. The only negative was the noise outside at night, but if you want to stay in the middle of all the action, that is part of the bargain!
We would return there in a heartbeat if we were to visit Rome again.
A suggestion would be to provide a picture of the actual exterior doorway and intercom pad to assure unfamiliar travelers they are at the right place since the streets are not marked well and our cab driver was a little sketchy. Our initial arrival was a little confusing to us English speaking folks!
- Ivan (10/5): Nota 10 - Albergue fantástico, o dono do local é uma simpatia e sempre a disposição e a localização é espetacular, dá para ver o Coliseu da janela do quarto.
- John (10/5): - The location is exceptional - right beside the Colosseum. The hosts we excellent - kind and accommodating. A great place to stay!
- Tina (8/5): - Clean and modern and nice. Wifi was not great for anyone relying on it. They did try to fix it so maybe it will be better in the future
- Tom (10/5): - What an excellent choice this was. The owner was wonderful and very accommodating. This coliseum was directly across the street. Walk to everything including the subway. I highly recommend this property.
- Niya (10/5): - It was seemless and AMAZING!!
- Lois (10/5): Beautiful B&B - lovely host! - Our stay here was amazing and far exceeded our expectations!! Max was a brilliant host and very friendly which was much appreciated after a long journey!
The room and bathroom were immaculate and there were all the amenities you could need, including a hairdryer, tea and coffee and even free cold water and snacks in the fridge which was a lovely touch!
The location was brilliant as you can see the colosseum just around the corner of the
street which was a 20 second walk if that! And it was just a 4-5 minute walk to reach the entrance of the colosseum.
I would recommend this B&B to anyone looking to stay near the colosseum in Rome and I would definitely stay here again!
- Maverick (10/5): - We loved the stay, they are very nice with a cute dog! Would definitely come again!
- Giovanna (10/5): - .
- Darin (10/5): - Max was very polite and respectful. Complimentary Italian breakfast was great.
GREAT LOCATION
CLEAN
The restaurant downstairs on the corner facing the Coliseum had the best Mojitos I’ve ever had and 1 was plenty. Their menu had several mojitos to choose from during their “mojito party” and the view was AMAZING
- Diane M (10/5): - The hosts are wonderful - welcoming and so helpful!! There is a large window with a great view of the Colosseum.
The room was large, comfortable and well outfitted with easy access. Location 5 minutes from a Metro station and the Colosseum.
- Lori (10/5): - Max and his family were awesome. Location is excellent, room was super comfortable. Highly recommend staying here!
- Hannah (10/5): - We had a fabulous few days staying here. Did not want to come home. Very friendly, helpful host. Great view, location, cleanliness. We will be back!!
- John (10/5): Bang opposite the collesium.... - Max's apartment is delightful, well appointed well situated and clean & tidy. But what made it special were Max, Chiara and Roberto's hospitality. Nothing was too much teouble and were made to feel entirely welcome.
We had breakfast everyday in lovely cafe overlooking the collesium - perfect....
The apartment could not have been in a better location, making it a perfect base to explore the magical eternal city from.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Vacation stay @ B&B Domus Chiara - The place was very cozy, but the best part of the stay, was that the Colosseum was basically across the street, and the Metro train was just down the hill. The host was very helpful in helping us on sites to see. I would definitely stay here again. This area is a bit noisy at night, but that's what is expected when one is on vacation in beautiful Rome
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was across the street from the coliseum! The room was great, bed comfortable, quiet and super friendly !
- Megan (10/5): Wonderful location! - This place was amazing! Seriously across the road from the coliseum with easy access anywhere in Rome via the bus/train. The breakfast location was perfect and was right above a brewery! We had an amazing time here, even got to meet the family dog Gus! Was a bit surprised this room was off a shared family room, but we had absolute privacy and help if we ever needed anything. Absolutely loved it!
- Mario (10/5): Felices. - Muy contentos por todo.
- Jessica (10/5): Best place in Rome - Best place to stay in Rome! Max was amazing at checking us in and explaining everything from local transportation, the Rome pass, and the included breakfast in the cafe around the corner. The room was comfortable, with a refrigerator that has snacks and drinks, along with a private bathroom with a rainfall shower head. It is near many places to eat (there is the Oppio Caffe and Brewdog bar literally on the corner of your building), and there is a supermarket 6 minutes away by walking. It is less than a five minute walk to the metro, and you could see the Colosseum from your window! Many other attractions were in easy walking distance. In five to ten minutes at a moderate pace you can visit the Basilica di San Pietro in Vincoli, the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. In under 25 minutes walking at a moderate pace ( or 14 minutes by the bus) you can visit the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain. In under thirty minutes by the Metro you can visit the Vatican Museum, St. Peter's Basilica, and St. Peter's Square. You can ride the metro for five minutes to the train station and then take a thirty minute train ride to the Fiumicino airport. There is nothing bad that I can say about this place and I wish that I could rate it higher than what I am allowed to do.
- Mindy (10/5): - The hosts were wonderful and the location was unbeatable! Open your bedroom window to a view of the Colosseum! Very easy to get to from the metro. I would definitely stay here anytime I am in Rome!
- Donald (10/5): Fantastic Hidden Gem - Stayed only one night before returning home from our annual trip to Italy. Greater very warmly by Max who explained everything. Great person. Quiet and tranquil being across from the park. Great walking area. Excellent WiFi too.
- Marisol (10/5): Warm, friendly, comfortable, best location. - Max and his wife were wonderful warm hosts. The room was clean and comfortable. We could see the Colosseum and ate a free breakfast at Cafe Oppio sitting outside directly in front of the Colosseum! Would stay again!
- Jessica (10/5): - We had an amazing time in Rome and loved staying at B&B Domus Chiara! Max and his entire family were so kind and it was so great to they were available if we had any questions at all about navigating the city, or where to go to grab a good bite to eat. The great service, the amazing location and beautiful space made our stay in Rome very special. Thanks so much!!
