• Jennifer (10/5): Pam & John were great hosts. We had a very relaxing stay and hope to be back again sometime soon. - Breakfast supplies were extremely generous. We loved the support of local producers. The fridge was stocked with bacon, sausages, eggs, tomatoes, Mungalli milk, 2 individual serves of Mungalli Icecream and Gallo Cheese. The fruit bowl was overflowing with many varieties of fruit and avocadoes. There were 2 varieties of locally produced bread in the bread box. There was choice of spreads including home produced honey, local coffee, Daintree tea. Port and a small box of Gallo chocolates.- Location was midway between Malanda and Yungaburra which encouraged easy exploration of other areas of the Tableland. There are good restaurants in Atherton, Malanda and Yungaburra for evening meals. There is a BarBQ, good cooking facilities and equipment, oils, S&P, alfoil, gladwrap available for DIY catering. • David (10/5): Rainforest paradise! - We recently stayed at Sharlynn by the River and it was one of the most relaxing and memorable places we’ve stayed in our travels around the world. From the moment we arrived we felt completely at home. The cabin is beautifully set beside the river and surrounded by lush rainforest. Sitting out on the deck with a morning coffee, listening to the water and the birds, was such a peaceful way to start the day. It really feels like your own private retreat, yet it’s only a short drive into Malanda and perfectly placed for exploring the Atherton Tablelands. Inside, everything has been thoughtfully prepared and is immaculately clean. There are so many lovely touches that make the stay feel special, including generous breakfast provisions and local produce waiting for you in the kitchen. It’s clear that a lot of care has gone into creating a comfortable and welcoming space. The hosts, Pam and John, were wonderful. They were friendly and welcoming and clearly take great pride in sharing their beautiful property, while still giving guests complete privacy. We had coffee with them both mornings. Unfortunately my wife had quite a bad sunburn and Pam gave her a lovely hat to improve protection and some lotions to sooth and cure the burn. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed and very lucky to have found such a special place. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful to stay in this part of Queensland, Sharlynn by the River really is a hidden gem. I would absolutely recommend to family and friends. Nothing

Das Haus war sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, sauber, das Bett war bequem und die Aussicht auf den Wald und Fluss war einfach grandios. Das Frühstück war mehr als ausreichend, mit vielen netten Details und von lokalen Anbietern. Wir können diese Unterkunft wirklich jedem empfehlen.
• Tracey (10/5): Magical - perfect in every way! - Magical, although I wish I could lie and say it wasn't... as now you will book and I won't be able to get in again. From booking to leaving everything was perfect, not one complaint - except I wish we had booked 3 nights not 2! Luckily, we do live close enough to come again, and we definitively will!!! Clean, comfortable, amazing generous food provisions and all local which we love! The hosts are amazing, and no question is too much. We went out at night exploring trying to find tree kangaroo's and we were given some tips. Not enough time there

Für s Frühstück war gesorgt - der Kühlschrank war gefüllt und uns erwartete ein großer frischer Obstkorb. John hat uns in alles Wichtige zum Aufenthalt eingeweiht und uns noch einen Tipp für eine möglichst erfolgreiche Schnabeltiersichtung gegeben. Die Unterkunft ist eine klare Buchungsempfehlung, für die die es ruhig und etwas abgelegen mögen. Es gibt einige Ausflugsziele direkt in der Nähe. Wir behalten unseren Aufenthalt in guter Erinnerung.

• Annemieke (9/5): Superb - Very well appointment rustic and romantic cabin with a wonderful private outlook and a lovely short walk to the adjacent river. The attention to detail was a standout and the breakfast beautiful and plentiful and locally sourced. The location is central and great for Atherton tableland exploration. There was nothing to dislike. If I could recommend to add another shower screen to the shower to avoid excess water on the bathroom floor.
• Julia (10/5): Outstanding! - The breakfast supplies were fantastic—such a great variety, and honestly, far more than we could eat! The location was absolutely superb, tucked away in the rainforest with the soothing sound of the Johnstone River rushing just below our deck. It was quite chilly during our stay, so we made good use of the pot-bellied stove each night, with fresh firewood thoughtfully restocked daily. We especially loved the large spa bath with its stunning view of the rainforest, and all the luxurious little touches from our hosts made the stay feel really special. A truly beautiful property! It couldn't have been better!

The accommodation was excellent and provided everything we needed, and the gardens and creek were just paradise. We were also totally spoiled with a great selection of breakfast goodies and extra treats in the fridge. Pam and John are delightful hosts, and we totally recommend a stay with them if you love nature, a peaceful environment and a luxury cabin. We couldn't fault anything.

The glorious cabin faces over the river and rainforest, in the opposite direction to the owner's house. The cabin is equipped with excellent examples of everything you need and numerous extra touches that really go above and beyond. The breakfast items provided are varied and plentiful (served us for both breakfast and lunch for each of our 3 days there!). The physical location is perfect, so close to Lake Eacham and an easy drive to Malanda, Yungaburra or Atherton. We're so pleased we found and were able to book Sharlynn. Don't hesitate!!

The breakfast foods such as yoghurts, milk, coffee and jam were all locally produced (and delicious). It was an easy drive to lake Eacham and Barrine, and Yungaburra. We also had some tasty pizza in Malanda. Thank you for an amazing and relaxing stay! Nothing, everything was excellent.

• Leta (10/5): Absolutely loved our stay here. Very central to everything, easy to find, very clean and tranquil. - We have never stayed in such a clean and well appointed place!! Everything was provided for... food for breakfast, fruit, robes, slippers...we even got a vase of fresh flowers! All the items for breakfast were of top local quality... and so very, very nice!!! You can hear the little river from the back deck while you sit in very comfortable deck chairs.... there is bird life all around you in the rain forest, which is just meters away. Very tranquil! There was absolutely not a single thing to not like about this place or our hosts! Everything was exceptional!!!

Thanks to John and Pam for being very accommodating, we really enjoyed the morning coffee and breakfast. The cabin is very comfortable and the decking around it is beautiful. Sadly, did not see any tree kangaroos, we loved out stay by the river. A great base to explore the Atherton tablelands and chill out. Nothing - this was one of the best accommodations I have booked in Australia. Wish we could have stayed longer!

• Rodney (10/5): A well equipped cabin in a very beautiful location with great hosts - what more could you ask for? - Sharlynn by the River is in a beautiful and peaceful setting and sitting outside on the private verandah was an absolute treat. The cabin was spacious and had everything we needed. The provided breakfast food was excellent and plentiful - we had more than enough for our two breakfasts. Pam and John were very welcoming hosts as was Charlie.

After opening the door and stepping inside, it took our breath away with the presentation and all of the little extras that Pam and John had included. Pam & John really take care and welcome their guests really well (with only one guest group taken up at any time). The cabin was located in a natural private rain forest resort with river and birds chorus in the background. The cabin was very well equipped with top rated fittings and appliances and loaded with all the goodies from local organic fruits and dairy supply. We, as a family of three adults, ended up spending more time relaxing in the accommodating than touring. It was the highlight of our five days trip. Nil

• Brian (10/5): Just a most amazing place to stay!! - 'Wow' is the only word to describe 'Sharlynn'! We spent two wonderful nights here and wished we could have stayed longer. A place to chill, relax and simply enjoy the surroundings - rain forest outside the door; Johnson River at the bottom of the slope; massive, comfortably furnished terrace'/verandah with BBQ overlooking the rain forest. And the accommodation - spacious, incredibly well equipped kitchen, comfortable longe area, very comfortable bed and huge, well equipped bathroom. And enough food for two, large gourmet breakfasts with plenty of choice (and there will still be some left over). You make breakfast yourself, but that's all part of the experience. Absolutely loved it!

Breakfast was great and was alot of options, also wasn't very far from lots of dinner options. Special welcome by a very warm and intelligent dog, Charlie who will alert his owners to tree kangaroo sightings on the property. We did not have to venture out to look for one and were very lucky to spot one from the veranda! Lovely owners, Pam and John who clearly set aside time and effort to ensure an exception stay, they are always keen to share their knowledge about the surroundings. Hearing a rushing river below us and bird calls.

• Alice (10/5): Great location, friendly owner and well equipt - The cabin was very well equipt and the owner provided loads of local produce for our stay. Short stroll to the river and large garden to wonder around. Close to all attractions around the Atherton Tablelands area. We visited several lakes and waterfalls within 30 minutes driving distance.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - A mastercraft built accommodation unit with your own private rear balcony lined with trees over- looking the river. This area and the garden are good for bird watching. The hosts are most hospitable and willing to advise on local sights. The accommodation is first class, with everything you need including a very well stocked kitchen with all your breakfast provisions supplied. Located just outside Malanda, it is central to the sights of the Atherton Tableland. Could not fault it.

Fully stocked kitchen and breakfast amenities, including nice little “unexpected” touches (chocolates, large choice of jam spreads etc). Large bathroom and spa and all the conveniences included. 10mins drive to Yungaburra and nearby attractions.

A river that crosses a mini waterfall to form a swimming pool. The chance to see platypus and tree kangaroos. Drinks on the deck at sunset listening to the chatter in the trees. A very generously stocked kitchen for breakfast. Five minutes to the lovely old town of Malanda. Ten minutes to Lake Eachem and on to quaint Yunginburra. Pam & John, extremely attentive but non-intrusive hosts. Just go, you’ll love it.

• Julia (10/5): Personalised stay in a beautiful setting - We had a brilliant time at Sharlynn by the River. We were welcomed by John and his dog Charlie when we first got their, and were given a tour of the cabin and surrounding area. There is a lot to explore - they have a river and a creek that merge on the property, and a good watering hole for a refreshing dip if you like to explore a bit. They also have citrus trees up the back of the property that you can walk through, as well as help yourself to the fruits. The cabin is very spacious and was very clean. They have great facilities for cooking and barbecuing with plenty of utensils and other kitchenware to be able to cook up a storm if you want. You can also help yourself to their herb garden for your cooking! They provided a really wide variety of food to help yourself to for breakfast. The bathroom was impeccably clean and includes a spa bath if you want to use it. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The next morning at 10am we had coffee with Pam and John and had a great chat - they are very warm and friendly, and very interesting people to talk to. We had plenty of privacy with a good balance of John occasionally checking in to see if everything was okay/if we needed anything. I would highly recommend Sharlynn to anyone visiting the area, and I'll definitely be spreading the word!

• beatrijs (10/5): Wauw! - Een uitstekend verzorgd verblijf is wat je krijgt wanneer je Sharlynn boekt. Alle details zijn tip top in orde, een verrekijker, zaklampjes op de nachtkasten, een gitaar, prachtig luxe linnen, een zeer uitgebreide en goed gevulde koelkast maakte in combinatie met de omgeving en zeker ook met de gastvrouw en heer dat we dit verblijf een absolute 10 toekennen. Op het eigen terrein een tree kangeroo gezien evenals een schildpad bij de mooie rivier. In de directe omgeving is veel te zien en we komen hier heel graag terug. We zouden Sharlynn aan iedereen van harte aanbevelen, het is een ware traktatie.

Falling asleep to the sound of the river and the crackle of the fire after a relaxing hot spa was lush. John an Pam made sure we had everything we needed, and Charlie the collie was well behaved. We hope to return for another stay in the near future.
