Guest Reviews
- Geraldine (10/5): - Warm and inviting inn with a spacious en-suite room with a beautiful view of Loch Fyne. Amazing breakfast, lunch and dinner, delicious and well presented. Welcoming and helpful staff.
- Gail (10/5): - Room was very spacious and comfortable, food for supper and breakfast was excellent!
- William (10/5): - Old Creggan’s inn is an absolutely beautiful location facing Loch Fyne and the mountains surrounding the loch. Dinner was delicious and the Loch Fyne mussels are heartily recommended. Sunset from the upstairs guest lounge room is absolutely gorgeous.
- Gary (10/5): Great Inn - Wonderful inn with friendly staff and very good pub/restaurant. Outstanding!
- Raewyn (6/5): - Food and service great. BUT you could hear your room neighbours. Parking excellent. I didn’t like that there were so many dogs in the bar, and barking all the time, also you had to step over them.
- Megan (10/5): Wonderful Inn for our family vacation - This Inn was delightful and the staff were great. We ate at the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast, and both were excellent. I would recommend this inn to anyone!
- Andrew (10/5): - Fantastic location overlooking loch fyne ,20mins drive to invarary town, castle ,jail and escape rooms.friendly staff , well appointed rooms, quiet great food inhouse restaurant ..recommend to travellers.
- lynn (8/5): - Great staff in bar and fabulous food . Enjoyed a comfortable stay for one night
- rick (10/5): Amazing - Amazing. Room was beautiful!! Staff was great! Food was wonderful. Definite highlight of 4 weeks in the UK
- John (8/5): - Good place to relax, with spacious rooms. Breaksfast starts at 0800 which may be a bit late who want an early start to trek into the mountains.
- Nigel (10/5): - Friendly, relaxed and comfortable place with good food and a sensational location
- Robin (10/5): - Liked lochside setting and helpful staff
- Lowri (10/5): - This Hotel is an absolute gem. Slightly off the beaten track with fabulous views over the loch. Staff were excellent, room and bathroom both spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. We dined in the restaurant there and the food was super. Highly recommend and will definitely return
- Ella (10/5): Badehotelsstemning. - Kro med rigtig god mad både morgen og aften. Hyggeligt værelse med udsigt over vandet. Godt udvalg af vin, øl m.v. Fri parkering. Dejlig have. Gåturs mulighed langs vandet. Dejlig have med flere bord/ bænksæt. Gode stuer til spil, læsning m.v. Sødt personale.
Man skal nok tænke på at opvarme kroen i sommeren hvor der alligevel var køligt, der var en fugtig luft i selskabslokalerne som vi besigtigede.
- Melissa (10/5): - My husband and I were in Scotland for 10 days and stayed at 6 different hotel locations from moving around a lot to see the country. The Creggans Inn was easily my favourite! It was a cute, older style Inn directly on the ocean! The only thing I was disappointed with was we only stayed one night. Absolutely beautiful scenery, beautiful garden out front, nice room, and friendly staff who love talking about the history of the place! Great food as well.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely place to stay. - Such a lovely little inn. We stayed in one of the twin rooms at the top. It was beautifully decorated and had views of the loch. Keep in mind there are many narrow stairs so if you pack heavy or aren't able to carry your luggage, request a room lower in the house. Gracious sitting room with beautiful views. We had dinner the first night and it was one of the best meals of our trip. Much more gourmet than I was expecting. The front desk were very nice and accommodating.
- Hans Jacob (8/5): - Nice and cosy - super service and hospitality
- Barbara (10/5): - Gorgeous old fashioned place with great furniture, art and individual rooms. Food was terrific. Rooms comfy, beautiful location.
- Walter (10/5): - I liked pretty much everything about my stay at The Creggans.
The only concern i had was that there is no bath mat so i felt a little unsure while in the shower. But that might also be due to my age😊
- Bruce (4/5): - Rooms great , food not, standard pub grub, lots of burgers and chips. they have fantastic dining room overlooking the loch where you can watch sunset, but it is shut… what a pity, instead in a windowless bistro with pictures about wine in London. Need to think what sells, which is the views from front.
- Dr N L (10/5): Enjoyable 3-night stay - 3-night stay. Staff constantly welcoming and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast and dinner excellent. Convenient parking. Had a wonderful stay
- Bernard (10/5): Great view great food great stay! - Always love visiting Creggans inn, great ambience and food.
- lorraine (8/5): Amazing food and sunsets - Our first night on a week long 25th wedding anniversary trip to Scotland was spent at The Creggans Inn. We booked because of a recommendation in a book called 'Cool pubs and Inns with rooms'. All the pubs recommended also do great food and The Creggans Inn did not disappoint, the food was delicious. Amazing sunsets set immediately in front of the pub over the Loch. Our bedroom was clean, nicely decorated with modern wallpaper, and comfortable but the pipework was very noisy. Other than the bedroom and the restaurant the rest of the rooms and bar were very dated and would benefit from a little love and attention. The upstairs lounge could be very special, especially with that amazing view through the very large picture window.
- Mark (10/5): Wonderful hotel in a magnificent location 👌 - Went to Scotland for a soltice party and stayed at the creggans. Beautiful property with scenic views. Warm and welcoming staff and gorgeous food, especially the oysters. Room was lovely with big bathroom and great view over the loch. Breakfast was amazing too and included in the price. 👍
- heather (10/5): Simply the best - Staff who are extremely efficientcould not have been more helpful. Great imaginative menu.
- James (10/5): - Stunning location overlooking Loch Fyne. Kind and helpful staff. Food was excellent.
- P (10/5): Comfortable, friendly base for Cowal, Bute, etc - My wife and I stayed for two nights. It was warm, comfortable and with very friendly, helpful staff. Our bedroom had a large en-suite bathroom, with spacious shower cubicle and separate bath, all very clean. Breakfasts and dinners were good, see the sample menus online. And there's a lot of lounge area, both upstairs and on the ground floor, with books, games, jigsaws etc available. The views are excellent!
- jaclyn (10/5): - The staff was outstanding. The property was lovely in a beautiful area, and the food was wonderful.
- Peter (8/5): - Comfortable stay. Excellent food.
- Beatrice (10/5): - Sehr nettes Peronal, tolle Atmosspäre, leckeres Essen.
- Bernie (10/5): Four Star Stay! - Always a great stay and amazing food.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff very friendly.Food good.Spacious room and bathroom although a little tired.
- Royston (10/5): A fine taste of Scotland. - The Creggans Inn is on a handy route to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland via car or foot-passenger ferries fro near Gourock. Loch Fyne make a fine view from the front of the Inn. The views are absolutely magnificent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant and food offer were delightful. Inverary castle is only about 10 miles away.
The viewing/relaxing area across the road is a tie-breaker.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasant stay - Good stay, nice room with a great view. The food could definitely be better, just standard bar meals tbh. I don’t think it would have been value for money if I’d paid full price, but a pleasant stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Drive on by! - Very disappointing and vastly overpriced. Owner had a very casual attitude to his facemask, wearing it nder his chin most of the time which hardly inspires confidence in the management of COVID measures. Food was awful. We returned 3 simple dishes. Shabby and dirty bedroom furniture. Cheap bedding and foam pillows for £200 per night? There's a main road directly in front of the hotel so be warned if you're a light sleeper. Swerve this place!
- vaughan (4/5): shame - No denying the great location. Sadley it’s hard to enthuse about anything else. Room was fine, the communal areas were dull, tired, stained, damaged, old furniture. COVID aside. Staff were friendly but The place was hugely disappointing , our food was poor and had such expectations before we arrived ! Need to up their game dramatically to justify the cost ! I will save the embarrassment of supplying pictures .
- MikeC (10/5): - the Property was in a lovely quiet area although a main road ran on front of the property it was not a very well used road and was quiet from 8.pm. onwards. The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly and whilst the food was home cooked it was to a very high standard.
- Michael (4/5): Substandard - Tired, musty bedroom, blanket on bed, window fell down when opened, very ordinary pub food.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff are excellent, Loch Fyne location is beautiful, food and drink at hotel is tops. No need to leave the site but if you do, Inverary is 20 min away and charming.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location, serenity, staff are attentive and top notch, food is notable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Stop over. - Comfortable but a bit dated. Not great on accessibility for people with even slight mobility problems.
- Doreen (10/5): A room with a view - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Creggan Inn, beautiful views over the Loch and friendly staff. Although the hotel is looking a little tired in places and some of the furniture could do with a makeover, it really is a lovely place and very welcoming, we would definitely stay there again.
