Guest Reviews
- Danielle (10/5): - Amazing breakfast! Very friendly staff.
- Daniel (10/5): - Friendly staff. Breakfast cooked to order every morning
- matthew (8/5): - NICE PLACE. BREAKFAST GOOD. DEFO RECOMMEND
- David (10/5): small, but amazing - what an amazing place. super easy going and very friendly. we had a great time. the made to order breakfast was the icing on the cake.
- Julia (8/5): - This hotel is very convenient for a night or two, but the room is small and the staff was not there on arrival or very friendly at breakfast. Also, the headboard of our bed was an actual tree trunk that stuck out over the pillows, so we bumped our heads a lot. Breakfast was also okay, but not great.
- Jeff (10/5): - The rooms are very clean and homey. Sarah was truly astounding in her help and guidance.
- Gary (10/5): - I had a informed them we might arrive a little and were told no problem our room is ready. Key in the door and we were in. Fire in the fireplace hot water for hot chocolate etc. Very cozy then breakfast the following morning. They have a menu to choose from. Cooked while we had coffee. Hot off the grill do delicious. Everyone very helpful and friendly. This is our second time there and will use them as again. Thanks.
- Susan (10/5): Fun place to stay - The room was fun with the loft. Would be great with kids. Could use some better lighting at the bedside to be able to read a book. Breakfast was just what we needed.
- Dallas (10/5): - Perfect and convenient
- You (10/5): - The room was very clean and tidy as described, the location is excellent too. We had a great time there and would definitely recommend staying.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location and really cute inn. Room is clean and bed is comfortable. Breakfast was awesome. We had a great time there.
- Erwin J (10/5): - Great breakfast, nice room. Overall as expected from Expedia description. Unable to get Taxi for 6pm at 5.30pm, had to walk to the harbormaster office with suitcases, recommend to leave plenty of time if taxi is needed (60min+).
- Sylvia (10/5): - Beautiful view and access to the water, gracious and helpful staff, delicious made to order breakfast, small but comfortable rooms, close to town and shops, and relaxing atmosphere.
- Nellie (8/5): - Staff was very welcoming. Check in was easy. Lift bed was fine for me but I could see that others might have a problem getting up there.
- Virginia (10/5): - Location and staff are great. Fine breakfast. B&B type. Owners accurately prepare guests for the tight quarters.
- Hal (8/5): - Nice place to stay in Seward. Had everything we needed. Great breakfast. Our room faced a street and had some outside noise.
- cynthia (10/5): - Great unique b and b type of place. Self check in was great. Great views, nice staff.
Just wish check in wasn’t so late (5pm) and check out so early (10am), but they did let me in early and said I could hang out after 10am so that worked out, in the end…
Great vibe.
- Nancy (10/5): - Very quaint, excellent breakfast.
- Anindya (2/5): - This is an extremely tiny room where there was no room to walk around by the bed. The expedia listing does not clearly mention that the kitchen, the dining area everything is shared with other residents. The room has no heating source. Our toilet was clogged when we arrived. This place is more like a hostel and not appropriare for family. The breakfast is made to order and the staff was nice, however the quality and option for breakfast is limited. I wonder how this property received all the 10 star reviews. I was heavily mislead by the reviews. Over $275 per night, this was absolutely not worth it. The building and facility is very very old and smelly at places. Only saving grace is the location in the heart of Seward.
- Susan (6/5): - Not suitable for older persons
- Vishwanatha (8/5): - Pros - Best breakfast. Great location and views, Host is very nice and helpful.
Cons - Sound from adjacent rooms and people walking outside
- Linda (10/5): A great family stay - This was one of our favorite stays on our family trip to Alaska. The location was great, it was set up perfectly for meeting other travelers. It was super close to almost everything in the downtown area. The loft areas offered in some rooms are great for kids. The breakfast every morning was delicious
- Charles S (10/5): - Lovely property
- Guang (10/5): - Love the kitchen!
- Jianping (8/5): - The room is small but can accommodate a family of four or five. Room is clean and has many hooks and shelves and storage areas. Big common dining area has great views, big kitchen for cooking if you want to. Owner Sarah let me waiting for my family in the common area after checking out, which I really appreciate. Also, the made on demand breakfast is great too.
- Angela (10/5): - This was my dream location and property! The made to order breakfast was delicious and the room were so cozy. I loved all the communal areas.
- Glen (10/5): - 2 adults with 2 teens. We had a loft for the boys that worked well. Good breakfast. No A/C. Eclectic older place. Worked out well. Bags do have to go up stairs. Walkable to the heart of Sewart.
- Raheel (8/5): - Pros:
Comfortable accommodation
Great location
Beautiful scenic views from the property
Friendly staff
Cons:
Breakfast could be better
Pricing could be more reasonable
- Alan (10/5): - Convenint to doentown.
- Helen (10/5): - The breakfast options were great. Friendly staff. Homemade breads fabulous. When they say the loft is small and meant for kids, believe them. But it worked out for my family even though my kids are grown. The sleeping loft created a family memory. =)
- Brenda (10/5): - B
- Carolyn (8/5): - Our room was tiny, but very cute and eclectic. The only problem we had is we were there during a time when light ran laid into the evening and quite a bit of light came in around the shades. We ended up getting up in the middle of night and finding masking tape in a drawer and taping a blanket to the window so we could sleep.
- WILLIAM FRANCIS WOODS (8/5): Solid Hard Working Management-3 Girls - Breakfasts are includsed and are super. There is a quiet time from 10-7 but not all guests understand what that means. Walkable to some very nice restaurants including Seward Hotel which I think is the best. Great view from the common breakfast room. No TVs in rooms but then again the town begs for you to get out and about. Room 2 is the best.
- Chantel (10/5): - This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast. It was an absolutely amazing experience. We'll be back for certain.
- Mary (8/5): - The included hot breakfast made to order was great! Same with homemade tea breads 🤗
- Hannah (10/5): - We LOVED our stay and would 100% come back. The location was ideal and central. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The made to order breakfast was great and we loved the personal touches of fresh sourdough goodies. The room was very clean and the common areas were spacious and clean as well.
- Trisha (10/5): - Our family loved the inn, its location, the breakfast, and the inn staff.
- Katie (10/5): - This is a great place to stay in Seward. Walkable to the downtown attractions and shops, with great views of Resurrection Bay. The breakfast is very good and everyone was pleasant to deal with.
- Karin (8/5): - I really liked the staff and it felt very homey, but the room was very tiny with nowhere to sit. The common area was next to our room, which felt a bit awkward hearing people’s conversations through the door.
- Ruth (8/5): - There is a very nice breakfast and the room is nice. The one issue is that the loft, where the second bed is, has a very low ceiling (I knew about the ladder, but I didn't realize that you wouldn't be able to stand up. Great for kids, not so much for adults. Very friendly staff.
- Greg (10/5): - The place is unique, the staff friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. Sarah texted me the check in instructions, which made it easy to arrive and get settled in.
- SAIF (10/5): - The hotel was a quaint and charming property located close to many attractions and nice restaurants in Seward. The place was very clean and well equipped. There is a shared kitchen which you can use to heat up or make simple meals. The beds are very comfortable. We had to check out very early before breakfast time, and the host was kind enough to pack breakfast for us before we left. Would recommend the place !
- Lydia (10/5): - Great breakfast, friendly staff, easy check-in.
- Susan (10/5): - Very easy check-in and very comfortable room. Also the common room was nice and breakfast was good.
- Minnie (10/5): - Loved our stay! I knew there was a ladder but (not the fault of owners) I didn’t realize how tired I would be going up and down after walking all day lol. Also in room 7 it gets so hot upstairs. Other than that it was a comfortable stay!
- Mary (10/5): Worth the steps! - You do have to wrestle your suitcase up
quite a few outside steps but there is plenty of room. It is worth the view from the dining area where a delightful breakfast was served. It is a cute, quaint place full of character. The hostesses was delightful.
She was friendly and fun to visit.
- Scott (8/5): - I would love to stay here again. Great view of the bay, friendly staff and first class breakfast.
- Margretta A (10/5): - Wonderful little Inn. We were able to drop bags and check in early with a simple phone call. Room and other areas were just as pictured, cozy, comfortable and squeaky clean. By AK timeline, this is in an older building, and the room is directly adjacent to the dining area. But guests were respectful of quiet hours and the bedding was very comfortable. We could see the harvest moon, northern lights, and spectacular sunrise over the bay right from our window. Then there was the tasty fresh, hot breakfast. Great location, a perfect stay in Seward
- Monica (10/5): - This is such a cute little bed and breakfast. Lots of charm and thoughtful touches. It is also located very close to wonderful dining and the marina.
- Matthew (10/5): - The Swan Nest Inn is located at the end of town near some restaurants and shopping. The water is only two blocks away where there is a nice park like area. Additionally there is a Safeway and Starbucks a short drive away. Breakfast was cooked to order plus you have free use of the kitchen and refrigerator if desired. We actually prepared a nice pasta dish with bread and wine one night for dinner. The Inn has a very relaxed atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. Our room was small but cozy with a large shower. Hairdryers, fans, heaters, and extra towels or blankets are in the hallway to use as needed. We had a relaxing, comfortable stay.
- Stephanie (10/5): - Check in was very easy, our room was clean and warm when we arrived. Will definitely stay here again...
- Diane (6/5): Good breakfast bad bed - B&B located in walkable area of Seward. Good breakfast. Room was small. Bed took up most of room. Mattress desperately needs replacement. No place to relax. Common area has one uncomfortable chair and even more uncomfortable bench. Okay for 2 ppl for 1 or 2 nights. We were there for 4 nights. Happy to move on.
- Craig (10/5): - Great place to stay at a reasonable price. If you have mobility issues it may not work for you because only access is by stairs.
- Lurdes (10/5): - We had a great time in Seward. Great food all handmade for breakfast! Friendly service, thanks so much.
- Gabriel (10/5): - Small. Very private. Treated very good
- David (10/5): - We had a great time and enjoyed breakfast.
- Lynn H (10/5): - The Swan’s Nest was perfect for our trip to Seward. We had the corner room next to the dining area and it was very quiet. We had a view of Resurrection Bay and enjoyed watching the skies change. The breakfasts were outstanding. I will definitely recommend the Swan’s Nest for a stay in Seward.
- Mark (10/5): - The place is an Alaskan treasure
- Abigail (10/5): - The hosts are so nice !! Cutest spot ever so cozy and comfortable
- Inger (10/5): - I really loved my stay in a Swanns nest Inn. Such an adorable B&B. Seward is an amazing little town. Thank u Sarah
- Claudia (8/5): - Rustic bare essential. Second floor not handicap friendly. Love the warm freshly cooked breakfast and dinning area.
- sandra (8/5): - Needs better security. Old doorknob lock, no deadbolt.
- Alison (8/5): - Staff was very accommodating- prepared us a delightful to go breakfast one day. Check in was very easy. The place had a common room for meals or hanging out. Much needed as our very cute room was small, so the only option for sitting was on the bed, which was quite firm and uncomfortable for sleeping. HOWEVER, this place has charm and was otherwise wonderful with so many things available (kitchen, coolers and more!) the breakfast was cooked to order and delicious!!! It’s a short walk to the waterfront and Alaska Sea Life Ctr., as well as quaint shops and restaurants.
- Shakil (10/5): - The make a great breakfast and it's superbly convenient to the "downtown" area in Seward walkable to all the restaurants and such.
- Gary (10/5): - Very efficient good breakfast rooms are comfortable. Thanks to Sarah for the extra she did for us
- Heather (8/5): - Quiet B&B that has amazing breakfast included. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Space was tight for a family of 4 in one room, especially with teenage boys that were not able to sit up in the loft. But for a place to rest your head and tired feet it did the job.
- Lawrence (8/5): - Our room at A Swan Nest was nice but very small. We were not in the room much anyway so that wasn’t a big deal.
Having breakfast options made to order was great! Staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would have liked was to have tissues in the room.
- Omkar (10/5): - Great location, excellent breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good
- Lori (10/5): - Our stay at the Swan Nest Inn was outstanding! We loved our room. Traveling with 2 children - ages 12 and 14 - who loved the loft! It gave gem a bit of space any privacy! The shared spaces of the TV room and Dining room are perfect. We enjoyed playing board games provided after a long day playing hard outdoors! We even used the kitchen to have a simpler meal one evening. Breakfast is AMAZING! The homemade breads, fresh fruit and hot breakfast cooked to order is just awesome! Sarah’s breakfast potatoes are my fav! Location is perfect for easy walking and exploring of the SeaLife center, restaurants and shops. Super friendly staff. Highly recommend.
- donald (8/5): - Just a nice comfortable B and B. Great location, comfortable bed, nice breakfast. Wish the room was a little bigger but overall we liked it
- Rose (10/5): - Awesome location, friendly staff, delicious breakfast and the place is homey. We enjoyed our stay! Thank you for the hospitality.
- Darlene (10/5): - This place was pleasant surprise. The building was a little dated but very clean. The staff was helpful and friendly.
- Robert (10/5): - It is so quaint. Lovely facility. Enjoyed my stay.
- Zhan (10/5): - The room is adorable with unique style. Staff were very warm and helpful.
- Shawn (10/5): - If posh is what you’re looking for, not sure this is it. But, Swans Inn is absolutely comfortable, practical, central and convenient. Sarah — your host/manager — is totally knowledgeable, helpful, and informative. Breakfast is adequate and timely. Feels like what BnB should, with DIY expectations and interesting guests.
- Mary (10/5): Definitely would stay again - Very clean and fabulous people. Breakfast was very nice. Great little place. Shower was nice and hot which is appreciated in Seward.
- Aditya (10/5): Best hotel in Seward - Two major highlights are 1. Kids loved the bunk bed style room 2. Breakfast was super good fresh made by cook
- Kaichang (8/5): Good breakfast - This is a nice B&B place. There are shared kitchen and dining area. Our room is right next to the kitchen and the dining area, it was a little noisy staring 6:20am. All room are located on the 2nd floor, no elevator, would be a problem for older people. Our room has one queen bed and two twin beds. The two twin beds are in the attic, more suitable for kids, but not suitable for little kids for safety concerns in my opinion. Breakfast is good, you can order to cook. The breakfast lady is very nice. I never saw the manager behind the front desk. I would recommend this place.
- Brian (10/5): - Stayed in a room with a loft with 2 beds for the kids. Overlooking the harbor! Cute room and great breakfast. Great surprise for us after a wildfire cancelled our other hotel. Best stay of trip!
- Cynthia (10/5): - Location and staff were excellent
- Chris (10/5): - The staff was very helpful with recommendations for dining and activities in the area. Our kids loved the loft!
- Lori (10/5): - Great property in Downtown Seward. Walkable to restaurants, stores and Sealife Center. Free shuttle stops nearby to get around Seward (Harbor & Tours). Property is very well managed. The hosts are very friendly and very accommodating. Would definitely go back for another visit!
- STEPHANIE (10/5): - We loved staying in a B&B in downtown Seward and the Swan’s Nest was perfect for our family.
- LINDA (10/5): Swans Nest is the best - We loved our stay at swans nest and would not hesitate to stay there again. We walked everywhere in town. The views were magnificent and the hosts friendly and helpful.
- Merritt (10/5): Cozy Inn in Seward - I had a perfectly fine stay at A Swan Nest Inn. My room was cozy and comfortable and the staff keeps the small inn very clean. Breakfast was great - I ordered scrambled eggs and potatoes, and there was an assortment of fruit and bread. I would certainly stay there again if traveling solo.
- Melissa (10/5): Awesome Find! - Great breakfast - loved the homemade breads. The room was comfortable and it was great having 3 beds so we didn't have to rent a 2nd room. The loft worked out nicely for 2 adults. Location was great - very close to everything we needed.
- Beth (8/5): - Our grandson is a large guy and had trouble climbing in and out of the loft to sleep band the bed took up most of the room space. Difficult to walk around bed. The view of the bay was phenomenal.
- Catherine (8/5): - Great staff and nice location. Beware the stairs are not for infirm people.
- Matt (10/5): - I’m a Marriott Platinum Member so I travel quite a bit and typically stay in Marriotts and I have to say staying at the Swans Nest was one of the coolest experiences and most memorable parts of our vacation. I highly recommend it and if we are ever back in Seward The Swans Nest is where we will be staying!
- Kimberly (10/5): - Easy check in with all the information needed!
- Algeria (8/5): - Breakfast was good and great staff!
- Georgetta (10/5): - The staff are wonderful and fresh baked breads and eggs to order were a plus. Allowing guests to leave luggage in tv room and hanging out there for tea was a nice touch. Friendly people
- Joe (10/5): Great place to stay in Seward. - Really nice B&B. Located within walking distance to the downtown area. Rooms are clean and well kept. The breakfast is fantastic.
Rooms are a little small, and don't expect a TV, microwave, coffee maker, or blow dryer in the room, but that stuff is available in common areas.
No complaints thought, I will happily stay here again!
Photos are the view from our room.

- Questa (10/5): Lovely stay at A Swan's Nest Inn - Clean, comfortable, beautiful mountain and ocean views, cozy dining room with fresh flowers, constantly available coffee/tea, delicious, homemade breakfasts. Warm and responsive staff, friendly fellow-guests. Room with queen bed and two beds in loft happily accommodated our family of 4.
- Leonard (10/5): - Simple and easy, breakfast was good.
- Kristen (10/5): - Small and quaint good price
- Scott (10/5): - What a beautiful place, close to several dining options and right in front of the bay.
- Mary (10/5): - Loved the delicious breakfast made for us each morning. Room and dining area were very clean. The only thing we didn’t like was that the rooms were very small, actually smaller than hotel rooms. Walkable distance to shopping areas. Overall was a nice stay.
