Guest Reviews
- Mary (10/5): - We loved our stay at the Front Row B&B! The location couldn’t be beat!! We lounged in the relaxing common space and prepared some simple meals in the extremely well equipped kitchen. A great place to hang out on a rainy morning, afternoon and/or evening!
- Enma (10/5): - From the start communication was fantastic! The area was clean, comfortable and safe. Very walkable and would highly recommend to anyone. Will most definitely be coming back in the future!
- Michael (4/5): One feature is a deal breaker. - Absolutely beautiful location, beautiful view, very nice facility. The fact it is a "shoe-less" facility is a deal breaker. You have to park in the back, shuttle luggage to the door, take shoes off and on to shuttle luggage to your upstairs room. Extraordinarily inconvenient. Also surprised we had to cook our own breakfast.
- Chun (10/5): - Front Row Bed and Breakfast is located in a very convenient and beautiful part of Seward, Alaska.
Upon our arrival in Alaska, Sarah greeted us with a very warm and welcoming message. She provided excellent communication and clear instructions, and her amazing cooking made all of our mornings extremely happy. Breakfast at Front Row was always delightful, and the sourdough waffles are a must-try!
Our vacation in Alaska was spectacular, and our stay at Front Row Bed and Breakfast made the entire experience even more extraordinary. Sarah was extremely nice, informative, caring, and thoughtful!
We would definitely stay at Front Row again if we were to visit Seward.
- Craig (10/5): - Beautiful location, easy walk along the shore to town. Great made to order breakfast by Sara, with the best sourdough waffles and homemade sweet breads. Would definitely stay again.
- Kimberly (10/5): - This place was amazing to stay at! Highly recommend. They fill your refrigerator with fresh orange juice and other food AND fresh baked bread that is beyond amazing
- Atif (10/5): - The best location in town with amazing views!!
- Karthikeyan (10/5): - Incredible views! Great hosts. Would've loved to stay for longer.
- Grayson (10/5): - Hosts provided very generous breakfast items in our room. You can still walk a block away for a full breakfast.
- Maryam (8/5): - Great location, Sarah was amazing, kind and responsive. We had a little bit of noise issues with the noise coming into our unit from upstairs. Breakfast was simple and good!
- Matt (10/5): - The property is even more stunning in person.
- Jeanne (10/5): - Great view. Family friendly. Thank you for opening your home to us and allowing my local son to join us. Beautiful, functional kitchen made our stay feel like home.
Highly recommend for location to the downtown, museum, library, and guided trips.
- faith (10/5): - Beautiful property, great location, perfect!
- Mystery (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful house close to everything
- Nancy (10/5): - How anyone rated this property less than 5 stars is a mystery to me. Everything about it was perfect. Sarah was extremely accommodating in helping us set up a boat tour and gave us a great recommendation for a hike and a local place to stop for dinner. We were there with another couple and we had the entire first and second floors to ourselves - it felt like home, but with an amazing view! The kitchen and fridge is incredibly well-stocked and the extremely short walk (one minute) to get a made to order breakfast was well worth it! The living room furniture is super comfy, as are the beds. We loved this place so much, we stayed an extra night. 100% recommend!
- Adrienne (10/5): - Beautiful place
- ira (10/5): Excellent place to stay - Excellent accommodations, great location. Breakfast was fabulous. Sarah the property manager provided great advice on things to do in the area. If we have the opportunity to come back, we'll definitely stay here again.
- John (10/5): - A phenomenal stay! From checking in through leaving everything was wonderful. Breakfast each morning is made to order. The room and bed were very comfortable and had effective black out shades that made for great sleep.
There were snacks and drinks always available and everyone was very helpful. When we return to Seward we would stay here.
- Donna (10/5): - Wonderful location.
- Eden (8/5): - Gorgeous view, incredible breakfast and very accommodating. Allowed us to store our bikes in their garage due to rain. It’s a popular spot cause of how awesome it is so it was fully booked when we stayed. Everyone was nice and courteous however the walls and doors aren’t well insulted so you could hear murmuring through the rooms and all the plumbing. Not the end of the world by any means, and it didn’t deter us from continuing our multi night stay! The hosts more than make up for the thin walls!
The breakfast is delicious! Homemade loafs and coffee available in the kitchen daily with additional breakfast items for on the go, or you can do a sit down for a made to order breakfast with sourdough waffles, toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, and/or breakfast potatoes! So delicious!!
- Nancy (10/5): - Due to a scheduling problem my reservation was changed to Northern Lights B&B, a sister property of Front Row. The change is booking was seamless and owner very helpful and accommodating. Northern Lights is a beautiful small b&b in an excellent location. The staff was wonderful and the breakfasts were made to order and delicious. I would absolutely return if ever again in Seward.
- Maresa (10/5): - Front Row B&B beyond exceeded my expectations!! The room was spacious and immaculate and we really appreciated the thoughtful touches like the fresh baked chocolate chip banana bread and fresh fruit that was provided! The view was gorgeous and the area was very nice and quiet at night. The B&B is continently located within a short walking distance to the downtown area. Best part was the made to order breakfast that is provided at their sister property (also a very short walk). Best sourdough waffle I’ve ever had in my life! The manager is so sweet and you can tell she loves what she does! I would highly recommend this place! Why stay in a hotel when you can stay here!?!
- Mary (10/5): - Super fun stay in Seward - friendly hosts, clean room, wonderful breakfast and great recommendations on what to do in the area! Highly recommended!!
- Jerry (10/5): Home away from home! - Beautiful place to stay! Anyone wanting a place to stay in Seward should definitely give this a look
- Linda (10/5): - Hosts and manager were lovely. Very clean room and house. They enjoy their guests and have alot of knowledge of the town and it's history.
- Leddie (10/5): - good place to stay for a few days.
- JASON (10/5): - Best location in Seward, hands down! Clean as a whistle. Had a delicious loaf of Blueberry lemon bread waiting on us with fresh Orange juice.
We had the hit breakfast three mornings and it was outstanding! They love their guests! Thanks a million!
- Marya (8/5): - Area was beautiful and the view was exquisite. The only issue we had was the hot water ran out. The property managers were very friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay great.
- Laura (10/5): Fantastic waterfront BnB!! - Wonderful BnB with very accommodating host. The common spaces are very comfortable, great views too!! Coffee, milk, juice and breakfast items anre all provided. As well as a hot cooked to order breakfast is offered. The bedroom/bath size was a little small, but fine for two In the bed and pillows were comfortable! All in all the great stay and we would not hesitate to recommend or return again!!
- Jienjung (4/5): - Not recommended!!
Noises easily heard from next rooms- toilet flushing, showing, chatting, etc. Tiny bathroom and filmy mattress. One of my worse experiences at a B&B.
- Rebecca (8/5): - Place is very clean, fresh fruit and drinks available; host is very friendly and responsive, prepared hot breakfast earlier than usual to fit our schedule for a tour.
- Philip (10/5): - Had a wonderful stay, best location in town with breathtaking views. Numerous restaurants within walking distance and amazing breakfast made to order. Highly recommend for anyone staying overnight in Seward!
- lois (10/5): - Staying at Front Row was a highlight of an amazing vacation. From the location to the management to the details, you will love your stay! I definitely plan on returning.
- Gillian (8/5): - Stay in the main house. The views are fabulous. Where we stayed the ground floor studio was not comfortable. Lighting was bad and it smelt of cigarette smoke. It was nice to have the main house to go into which if we hadn’t had a lot of luggage would have chosen
- Jennifer (10/5): - This property was everything it needed to be. Good mattress, clean room, friendly staff. Planning to stay there again!! Views were also amazing from common area. Breakfast was fantastic.
- Anne (10/5): Fantastic Views and Delightful Hosts - Front Door Bed and Breakfast was a great place to stay on our visit to Seward. The room and bathroom were fairly small but comfortable. The shared living area was fantastic with incredible views from every angle. We had a lovely chat with the manager, Sarah, who was extremely friendly and gave us plenty of ideas about activities in the area. We didn’t go to the sister property for breakfast, although we heard from other guests that the breakfast was phenomenal. However each morning there were delicious fresh baked goods in our kitchen as well as fresh fruit, juice, coffee, tea, and everything that was needed to make a complete breakfast. We spent some great hours sitting in the living room reading and watching the fabulous clouds and sunlight dance on the glaciers.
- David (10/5): - Sarah, who manages the Front Row B&B, was super helpful, provided great breakfasts and was just genuinely kind and friendly to all her guests. The Front Row B&B is a very clean and comfortable place to stay.
- Valerie (10/5): - Worth every penny. The property is gorgeous and the hosts are really sweet. The breakfast was very tasty and they even allowed us an early check-in, which was so nice. Would absolutely stay again.
- Wei (10/5): - We truly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. After we saw the ocean view picture on the website, we immediately canceled our earlier booking in another local hotel and chose this one. It was a right decision! The view from the window is breathtaking with ocean waves nearby, snow mountains afar, and sea birds flying low and high, far more better than any pictures that could possibly depict. Imagining you have a cup of hot coffee in hand and sit in Tom’s rocking chair in front of huge window, life is as good as you can get! The house is located in the historical downtown next to the Waterfront Park. If you come to Seward by cruise or train, you can take Free Shuttle at cruise terminal/train station and drop off at Stop #11. The house is about 20-30 meters from the shuttle stop. We used Free Shuttle to our cruise for next journey. It is very convenient (and free). The unit has everything we expected, upscale, comfortable, clean and welcoming. The owner Tom is such an amazing gentleman to chat with, knowing so much about salmon, AK history back to 17th century, local tribes, glaciers, and global warming! His advice (to have layers on) made our day during our one-day-long boat tour to glacier! Also, don’t miss Sarah’s sour-dough waffle for your breakfast - it derives from the sour dough made 23 years ago!! We sincerely thank Tom to share this wonderful house with us and highly recommend to you all!
- Joshua (10/5): - Had a great weekend stay here. Sarah was a huge help with planning my weekend, giving me recommendations for tours, hikes, etc. Breakfast was also great each morning. Highly recommend staying here, will definitely rebook next time I visit!
- Emmanuel (10/5): - People were super kind and friendly. Had a great time just chatting and hearing about the area. Food was excellent and accommodations were fantastic. Will stay here again!
- Sumeet (10/5): - The hosts and the B&B, both, are lovely. Very warm and welcoming.
- Linda (10/5): - Perfect location overlooking the water and mountains! Sarah was super helpful. We would highly recommend Front Row B & B.
- DON (10/5): - Great place to stay. Beautiful views, great location.
- AMY (10/5): - Front Row Bed and Breakfast was absolutely Top Notch!! Tom and Lori gracious hosts to a stunning B&B with incredible views right by the water and mountains. Sarah, the manager, went above and beyond and her homemade breakfasts were wonderful. Can’t give this place enough stars. If you come to Seward this IS the place to stay!
- MIKE (10/5): - Exceptional hosts and highly recommended.
- Karen (8/5): Bed & Breakfast... Not a Hotel - 227 Ballaine was a nice Bed & Breakfast. Room had a private bathroom. All was clean & comfortable. Rested well, didn't stay for breakfast but the owner was kind and friendly. Nice views of the mountains and bay.
- Chen (10/5): Fantastic bay-front studio unit with kitchenette - Had a great 3 night's stay at the Bear's Den at Front Row Bed and Breakfast. Clean and cozy in-law-suite under the main B+B, with its own kitchenette and bathroom. It had everything to cook a simple meal. The bed was very comfortable. The place was right across the street from the waterfront, with access to a beautiful walk along the shore. Tom was very friendly as the owner, and Sarah and Kristen were great as the B+B managers as well. Bear's Dean guests can also access the common area in the main B+B to lounge, relax, and cook as well if needed. Parking was super easy in the driveway right in front of the unit. Excellent cooked breakfast every morning by the B+B managers at the nearby Northern Lights B+B kitchen/dining area as well included. Would definitely stay here again.
- April (8/5): - The staff communicated with me several times prior to arrival and offered recommendations. The location is excellent; the view is excellent from the community areas. My only negative experience is that I did not see a hair dryer. I’m sure I could have asked for one.
- Kerry (10/5): - Great breakfast, very clean,
- Steven T (10/5): - Great location right across from bay. It’s close to Sea Life center
- Libai (10/5): Perfect stay - Perfect location. Good size for
- Karen (10/5): - The view and breakfast were wonderful. Accomodation clean and complete.
- David (10/5): - X
- Michael (10/5): - Great location and excellent customer service!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This property is on the most beautiful location in Seward! The staff are incredibly helpful and accomodating. We absolutely loved our stay.
- Steven (10/5): - -
- Bob (10/5): - Can not express enough how much we enjoyed this property. Kitchen had everything need to make breakfast or you can walk next store to sister B&B and have it prepared for you.
Most impressive was living room where you can sit and enjoy unobstructed views of Resurrection bay and mountains beyond
- Tara (10/5): - Awesome hospitality. Had a great stay.
- Mark (10/5): - A wonderful location! Sarah took great care to make sure we had a wonderful stay.
- Keegan Daniel (10/5): - Had the place to ourselves, it was a very enjoyable experience! Will book again if ever in the area.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Gorgeous views and quiet location - The basement apartment-like accommodation was ideal for our family. Beautiful view of water & mountains, location at mile zero of Iditarod trail, and convenient to downtown Seward. Phone calls/emails returned promptly. Very clean studio, and comfortable beds. Breakfast included, either prepared, or do it yourself with grocery items stocked in refrigerator. All the extra touches and kind/friendly staff made our stay wonderful.
- ronald (10/5): - Beautiful place to stay. views are truely alazing. Easy checkin. comfortable home.
- Rose Marie (10/5): - The decor is rustic Alaskan. Location is perfect for up town dinning and still just a short drive to the docks.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff is great, the place is safe, the view is awesome, breakfast is good. No internet on the ground floor unit (bear den), so I couldn't check emails or do any work. Owner was not helpful and recommended us to go to common area. We couldn't access common area after 8:30 PM. No cable, you got to have a Netflix account as that is the only accessible service.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Owner of property lives in the property which means the property is better kept than average. In fact, this property is the best B&B that I have been to in last 10 properties that I've been to.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location and accommodations are perfect. Beautiful place. Great service. Flexible late check out option was great allowing us to shower, eat, and pack after our excursion
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had such a wonderful 3-night stay in the Bear's Den (the room downstairs w/ 2 beds and kitchen). Having a kitchen was unexpectedly handy as many restaurants were closed or too busy to get in. We were provided ingredients in our fridge to cook eggs, sausage, potatoes, etc. We chose to take breakfast in nearby property, which was outstanding. Beds were comfortable. Access to laundry was a bonus. Best of all -- THE VIEW!!! Absolutely breathtaking!!! Hosts were helpful and friendly. Stay here!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Do it
