Guest Reviews
- Tsveta (9/5): -
- David (8/5): Great place to stay - Second time I’ve stayed here. My room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. Staff are fabulous, so friendly and on the ball. Nice tasty food served in the bar. My room was cold on arrival but a heater soon warmed it up.
- Alan (10/5): - Everything Shower was cold
- Anjuli (7/5): - The team are brilliant - I had a number of issues at different times of the day and every time the reception or porter were superb at remedying the situation; polite and apologetic. Given their response, I would stay at this hotel again.
Delicious home cooked breakfast I was initially in a room that had no heating (turned off) and no hot water (only discovered the following morning when I went to shower), I'm sure as a result of renovations. As such, I'd check both when you check in to make sure you don't have similar issues!
- Diane (10/5): - Staff are amazing, very friendly.
Had a great stay
- Pallister (9/5): - Food in the evenings was excellent. Room was comfy and very clean. Staff were friendly.
- Kelly (7/5): Greats service from staff, rooms needs some TLC. - The hotel was the prefect location for the family occasion we were attending.
The service from staff was amazing, all friendly and polite. Good option for food and food was lovely. The rooms were not the cleanest and need a little TLC , cobwebs and on the cold side. We couldn’t get any hot water to shower in the evening, however there was hot water in the morning.
- Norman (6/5): -
- Janice (7/5): - Great location from train station and Ross Hall hospital. Nice staff Very small room and very hot, took a while to get it cool enough to sleep. Road noise due to window open
- Mary (7/5): Very good - Excellent breakfast
Shower wasnt working
Hit water ok in the sink
- Leonard (1/5): Absolutely terrible - Turned up for my booking was told that I didn't have a booking was made to make another booking and pay twice as much as I had paid online when booking to then be asked to leave the hotel 20 mo
Ins later as apparently the room they gave me was already booked out very very poor service Turned up for my booking was told that I didn't have a booking was made to make another booking and pay twice as much as I had paid online when booking to then be asked to leave the hotel 20 mo
Ins later as apparently the room they gave me was already booked out very very poor service

- Ian (8/5): Convenient and friendly - Friendly staff and good value Doors locked after 23.00
- farahnaz (9/5): Clean nice and quiet - Friendly helpful reception to get taxi
- Sandra (10/5): Fabulous - Bedroom very clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing
- Andrea (8/5): -
- Alistair (6/5): Pleased enough with the hotel for the price. - Better than other places I've stayed.
- Evelyn (7/5): -
- Alan (8/5): -
- Alexander (8/5): Got a killer deal on this room. - Amazing food. They say that their steak pie is "famous," and it deserves fame. Very convenient that it was right next to the train station as well. Nothing in particular; the few inconveniences were things that the management and staff weren't really responsible for.
- Steve (10/5): With return, and I have already told several friends and family so. - Service was excellent.
Staff were so helpful and friendly,
I have been fortunate to travel to many different countries around the world, having left Scotland in 1977, it was a pleasure to return 👍😁 The first room was not what I wanted, my fault.
- Shirley (10/5): Very enjoyable stay - Friendly receptionist. Comfortable bed .
Friendly and efficient service in the restaurant. Can’t think of anything
- ELO (4/5): Nothing exceptional to write home about.Wasnt worth the money. - Nothing The facilities.
- Joy (5/5): Disappointing overall but staff were pleasant & worked hard. - I had a complimentary breakfast which was nice. The location was further away than it appeared from the hospital which I needed to visit several times so I ended up needing a taxi. When I arrived I was given a key to my room only to find someone already in there. Then I was given a little room at the end of the corridor which was directly above the bar & restaurant where there was a celebration going on the first night with loud continuous music. Followed with glass bottles being emptied & smashing into recycling bin. The second night it went on until after midnight & I had very little sleep.on either night. Toilets were poor & few by bedrooms.
- Kirsty (4/5): -
- Janet (9/5): - TV wasn't working in room I was given. Within 10 mins I was moved to a much bigger room with working TV at no extra cost. No negative points
- Iain (9/5): - Very nice stay. Will recommend. No toilet in the room.
- Gail (8/5): - Very accommodating staff and food excellent Lingering smell of cigarette smoke in bar /restaurant area
- Anthony (8/5): - Good
- Fraser (8/5): -
- Anthony (5/5): Well presented but sub standard, noisy locals drinking down stairs, nice staff though. - Fire door on my bedroom was not fitted to even a reasonable standard, the latch to the communal shower room was broken and the radiator in the room had a broken thermostat so the room was cooking on a warm night. The night staff moved me into another room which was a pain for me being tired as I was where I found long black hair under my pillow.
- Leonard (7/5): Very helpful and friendly and value for the money. - The breakfast was very good and value for the money. When I arrived was quiet sure were to book in.
- Somerled (9/5): Enjoyable Stay at Crookston Hotel - The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, the restaurant provided very good food at reasonable prices and the hotel was well situated with reasonable parking facilities. Overall, the cost of our stay was good value for money. No lift to the hotel rooms meant that for people with limited mobility like my wife, access was a little difficult; and there was no chair in the room so you had to sit on the bed, though to be fair, including a chair would have restricted the available space.
- Alex (10/5): My stay at the Crookston hotel - Family run hotel, always has been ... been coming to the Crookston since I was 14 yrs old ... always my hotel to stay in when in Glasgow as I come from the area ...
Food especially the famous steak pie is just amazing... friendly staff always will to help and service with a smile
Alex ... room 5
8/9th Jan '26 Say thx to Francis for me and for giving the staff a fright as thought I'd gone missing ...
- Isobel (7/5): Comfortable and convenient - It’s individual and updated rooms where very comfortable I did find it difficult to regulate the heating
- Sylvie (9/5): Great hotel, very convenient for the Ross Hall Hospital - Lovely room, very comfortable bed, very quiet and the staff very kind and helpful.
- Christopher (7/5): -
- Ellie (4/5): We ended up getting a refund and not staying - Its location The rooms, smelled of smoke, dirty and cold.
- Charmaine (7/5): -
- Stuart (9/5): Great Value! - Good value for money and great location Slightly dated rooms but perfectly acceptable
- Sonya (10/5): Would highly recommend it - Great location and friendly staff and atmosphere!
- Littlest.hobo (10/5): Beautiful hotel with great transport connections - Great hotel in a residential area of Glasgow. Perfectly located to get around using public transport. The 2x an hour train takes you to either Paisley or the city centre in minutes. There are buses that can take you to Silverburn or Braehead shopping centres. It is not too far from Pollok Park to see Pollok House or the Burrell Collection.
The hotel is undergoing renovations. My room, thank you for the upgrade!, was beautifully decorated and comfortable.
Fantastic breakfast! Highly recommend. Not a dislike, just something to remember - this is a very popular place for drinks in the neighbourhood. Go early to get a table.
- Miss (3/5): Very disappointed - Bathroom was in a terrible state of repair. Moldy windows and blinds. Peeling paint. Awful shower that went from boiling to freezing cold. Emailed during my stay with no response. We were not made aware there was a function room below us and the windows were rattling from the music.
- David (8/5): -
- Robert (8/5): My wife was in hospital, and this was the perfect place to stay when not visiting hospital - The location was excellent for me, just down the road from Ross Hall Hospital. The staff were extremely helpful , and happy to be flexible around our unkown length of stay, caused by medical reasons. The food was really good, and the prices were very reasonable, and competitive. As an older property the toilets were shared, but as the hotel was not full this was not a problem.
- Ross (8/5): - Easy access to City centre nothing
- John (7/5): -
- Carolyn (7/5): -
- Margaret (8/5): Position of the hotel was ideal for my requirements - Didn't have breakfast but good choice for dinner in the evening.
Seemed very popular with locals,
Bed very comfortable Remote control for TV not working
Cobweb on the wall
- Mackenzie (10/5): - Staff were exceptionally friendly helpful and accomodating. They couldn't do enough to help. Evening means were delicious and reasonably priced. Excellent location to walk to Ross Hall hospital.
- Catherine (10/5): -
- Wilson (10/5): - Staff superb, location great right beside railway station, breakfast superb. Nothing.
- Sarah (10/5): I shall stay again if in the locality. - I did not stay for breakfast as I had to leave early. The location of the hotel was very convenient for the purpose of my being in the area. There was nothing I did not like.
- Joanna (8/5): -
- Jim (8/5): Was excitable for the cost the bar was welcoming staff very good - Unfortunately couldn't stay for breakfast Please consider putting a cover ( plastic bag )
Over the TV remote as looked very dirty
- Traynor (10/5): -
- Paul (7/5): -
- Lainey (10/5): Perfect for the solo traveller. - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms, although small, were perfectly clean, comfortable and warm. It is absolutely perfect for solo travellers who want somewhere to use as a base for exploring Glasgow. You are right by a station that makes accessing the city so easy. The food was lovely and portions generous. I prefer having my own bathroom, however, albeit the bathrooms were shared, they were absolutely clean, and fellow travellers were very mindful of the other people staying at the hotel and nobody left any mess at all. A small chair in the bedrooms room would be ideal.
- James (10/5): - I absolutely loved how clean the room and toilet areas were, aswell as the staff like usual (I've been before) were the absolute best help That I didn't stay longer
- Lorna (8/5): -
- John (6/5): OK but with room for improvement. - Bar / restaurant was good. The food was fine- our evening meal was good value and tasty and the servers looked after us well. There was a lively atmosphere in the bar. Our room (23) was next to reception and opposite a noisy function room. To be fair, the noise died down before 10pm. The beds were comfortable but the room was dated with a wonky sliding door to the bathroom. The central heating was not working but a portable electric radiator had been provided.
The breakfast service was poor. There were no menus for the cooked options and the buffet choices were limited. (However the breakfast cost was included in the room charge).
The hotel seems more aimed at functions (funeral parties etc) than for overnight guests.
- David (9/5): Nice food but a littlr pr - Staff very friendly food was lovely. Can highly recommend the Steak Pie although roast potatoes were disappointing. Breakfast was lovely too Location was a bit far to go to the hospital. Room was a little tight too. And a crying child in the lounge during dinner was annoying to say the least
- John Paul (7/5): - Room was big enough but needed refurbishment
restaurant/bar was good and staff were great
breakfast was very good
location was excellent dated and in need of upgrade
- Karla (10/5): Lovely people and place to stay, highly recommend! - The staff are so lovely, they couldn’t be nicer. Everything is really clean and well maintained. The bed is comfy, and the food is lovely. The breakfast in the morning is so tasty too. Highly recommend! Everything was great
- Charmaine (8/5): - Staff very friendly. Room clean breakfast nice.
- Helen (8/5): -
- murphy (7/5): -
- Narinder (10/5): Brilliant stop - Very friendly. Good location Nothing
- janet (10/5): Pleasant experience at a local hotel - A good base for visiting local hospital and had excellent public transport links on the door step. Every member of staff was courteous and professional in their contact with me and everyone made the stay consistently a good experience.
- Janet (8/5): -
- Fraser (7/5): Ideal location for our needs, very friendly & welcoming staff, room was spotless - Location was perfect for our requirements Unfortunately the hot water/ heating was not working but this inconvenience was overcome with a 50% reduction in the room fee.
- Anne (8/5): Lovely hotel - Staff were very kind and helpful. Food excellent There didn't seem to be a problem
- Ian (7/5): Apart from the night watch man idea , it’s still a nice hotel - Stayed many times , and always good value They have now made the decision to have a night watchman to unlock the main door at night , on my last stay he disappeared for over 1 hour, leaving me freezing in the car park !! No explanation where he went, if he’s not going to be there, give guests a key
- Melanie (7/5): Comfy and good value for me - Really comfy bed. Cosy little room. Felt safe. Toilet was shared which was fine for me but not for everyone. Noisy at night due to the bar which again was no problem for me but others might struggle to sleep if they are early to bed.
- Anne (9/5): Great hotel with easy access to airport 15 mins and Glasgow Central 12 mins on local train. - Great hotel - lovely breakfast. Staff brilliant with super help during hot water issue. Room lovely with loads of towels toiletries and tea making facilities.
Bar buzzy and fun We were happy with everything.
- Scots John (7/5): Scots John - Been here many a time as location good for transport.Breakfast was good and staff helpful. Plenty of coffee, tea etc Cold room, shared shower freezing even after the 2 minute warm up time they say.Could do with a chair in the room to watch tv instead of on top of the bed.Was locked out first night until a staff member in her way home managed to get hold of the security guy who had left his mobile and wandered somewhere.
- Iain (6/5): -
- Brenda (8/5): Lovely hotel, would book again. - Refurbished bedrooms were beautiful, clean and beds were very comfortable. The bar was very noisy and very busy, there wasn't anywhere that you could sit and have a quiet pint and a chat.
- Sheena (8/5): - Staff were very attentive, kind and helpful at all times.
Good food at reasonable prices. Minor problem was that the water in the shower could do with being warmer.
- Ross (7/5): - clean with pleasant staff nothing74
- Jill (8/5): Homely, friendly hotel, with lovely helpful staff! - Breakfast was great (perhaps a little meat heavy for some!) - would have liked a choice of how eggs are cooked, plus black pudding or haggis. Nice coffee!
Excellent base for Glasgow/Paisley area, with convenient transport links. No lift, but not a big deal . . .
- Angie (9/5): Fantastic family feel and really great food - The staff are fantastic! I came in late with a migraine after a horrible day of travel and the people were so sweet and understanding. I wish I would have had more time here! The room was a beautiful mix of old and new, very clean and comfortable. Hmmm... I think the only thing that I thought "oh that's tricky" was the lock on the door. I had never used one like that before. Once I figured it out though it was easy peasy 🙂
- Michael (9/5): -
- michelle (8/5): - Nothing, it was just what we needed
- Ivan (8/5): -
- James (10/5): - The staff here at the Crookston could not be more helpful, in lines of finding your way around, having a good laugh or greeting you with a smile in the morning. As well as the room and facilities also clean and looked after
- Fiona (7/5): Location was ideal for our needs. Food and staff great. - The room was immaculate and recently decorated. The bed was comfortable. We had twin beds(unexpected) and there was very little room to move about to reach the bathroom. Plenty of tea and coffee. Coffee machine. Room was warm enough and an extra heater was available. We had dinner and breakfast the following morning. Big portions and freshly cooked. The staff make this hotel. They are very friendly and work well as a team. Plenty of free parking. Quiet location. Good transport links. We were only staying one night so these issues did not cause problems. The room was smaller than we had hoped and we looked out onto the flat roof of the kitchen with the extractor fan running. The window opened but needs adjustment as it has dropped a bit and did not close easily. There was music in the bar until 12. There is no lift and the stairs are tight for suitcases etc.
- Helena (6/5): -
- Michael (9/5): - The food was fantastic the staff were very attentive ,, even though the restaurant was always busy,,,,and a big shout-out for the wee Spanish girl and her co,workers well appreciate,d ,,, Nothing
- Iain (8/5): -
- Gary (8/5): - Food, staff and room were all super My shower had very low water pressure
- dechagan83 (7/5): -
- Elaine (9/5): - Location and value. Breakfast included and staff were very helpful
- MacKinnon (8/5): - Comfy bed and pillows The noise of traffic in the morning.which can't be helped.
- MacKinnon (8/5): - No fuss, just explained where I was sleeping, and breakfast times..
This was my 2nd visit in a week.
The first time I needed food and was very pleased with the homemade Steak pie with vegetables followed by Eton Mess Sundae.which was gorgeous. Nothing
