Guest Reviews
- Juan (6/5): - It was okay. The bathroom needs repairs. But overall the place is okay for last min option for a low budget stay.
- KirillOussov (6/5): Average, cheap and cheerful - This is a typical soviet hotel. it is a welcome to '70-'80 hotel and whatever comes with it. I must admit, it outside view scares you on your arrival, but it is quite okay inside.
If you travel on the tight budget, you will get your money worth, as the rate per night is comparatively low, yet it includes a decent breakfast.
The rooms are clean and okay in terms of the size.
The location is rather far from the center, probably 2.0-2.5km.
The staff is welcoming and friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great staff, quiet surrounding. Bed was so comfortable and the room was clean.
Good breakfast.
- Magdalena (10/5): Great on budget - It was a good place for the money. Did not look great from outside but Clean and comfortable. No elevator .
- Stephen (10/5): Nicd Hotel - Nice hotel, close to a bus stop which is a 7-10 minute ride into the city centre. Breakfast was nice, a nice 247 bar down the road. Maybe offer an evening meal service, similar to breakfast.
- 970lidijal (8/5): Friendly staff - The friendly staff improved the picture of the hotel. Mattresses are extremely comfortable.
Breakfast is very good, bread and eggs are the best. The price justifies the interior and exterior of rooms and hotels.
- Mario (10/5): Vrlo korektno - Vrlo korektno sve, osoblje jako ljubazno.
- Karol (6/5): Fair enough - Very old hotel from soviet times. Rooms look ok but bathrooms are like from 60's. As for Zagreb it is cheap. Big parking is a plus.
- Michael (6/5): Shabby, but nice people; I hope it spruces up - The people who were staffing this hotel were very nice. The physical state of the hotel is pretty run-down, though. There is plenty to suggest that management doesn't care, can't afford improvements, or both. The exterior of the building looks unwelcoming; everything except the lobby needed a coat of paint.several years ago.The rack for the handle on the shower hose had been replaced (in a ramshackle way) with a coat rack that just barely stayed into the wall. The chair in my room had become loose and creaky to a dangerous degree. The front desk staff addressed that promptly when I brought it up, but I had a persistent feeling that no one is looking around or looking ahead to problems.
This is all too bad, because I'd like the place to succeed. The price can't be beat; it's very inexpensive. It's a bit of a walk to the centre of town, but it's a nice enough walk at that. I hope they can patch things up.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This property is in need or renos. It should be on your list for rental. It is basically a dump. We were very upset. Mouse pooh on the floor. Mold in the shower. Sewage stink coming out of the toilet drain, etc.
- Kristijan (6/5): - Great location. Hotel needs updating. Wi-Fi is excellent.
- Bheema (2/5): Very bad hotel - Had booked for 2 nights but left for another hotel after the first night.
Room was very basic, carpets dirty, walls with spider webs, No AC or fan, old TV with not much in it, bathroom very basic.
Location was good with frequent buses to city.
Parking free.
- Frederick (10/5): Don't go by outside appearance - Nice room, friendly staff, Outside looks like a dump, but everything else was great
- JacceH (6/5): Cheap - Well, if you find a cheap hotel, there's not much to ask. And that's exactly what you get in hotel Zagreb. Wellcome to 80's. The staff was friendly and they do accept the dogs. Location is little too far away from the center.
- alessandrav496 (2/5): A terrible hotel - This hotel is very horrible. At breakfast there aren't lot of choices. The bedrooms aren't clean and there is a terrible smell. The technology is backward. I think that the 2 stars are a gift. But this is just my opinion.
- S992URsimonm (4/5): Terrible exterior of hotel - To be honest appearance of the hotel itself a terrible. The interior is different, otherwise the rooms are clean and simple. If you are not choosy about the hotel looks and you want just to sleep somewhere, then this will be right choice. The location of the hotel is next to the park and approximately 5 km from the shopping centre and the city centre. They also have free parking.
- NinoMl25 (4/5): Cheap - A cheap hotel to stay at budget at Zagreb. Not much to recommend. Free parking and the location is good. The room was clean enough, the bathroom also. Its not renovated for a long time. No view from the rooms.
- 444lilyr (2/5): Awful - This hotel is disgusting, the breakfast consisted of yoghurt and egg 😷 the room was dusty and full of cobwebs. No English channels on tv, and location awful - in the middle of no where. Also the staff were very unhelpful as they didn't speak a word of English! There was nowhere to eat nearby either.
- 400annel (2/5): Never again - Hotel is close to sentrum, nice people in reseption. The hotel and room was i bad conditon,no air conditon, no firealarm, basic breakfast, I stayd for a week so there were not som many choise. The electricity were old, the lamp was not fasten so good at the wall.
- Mark74768 (4/5): Dont stay here - I stayed in this hotel late June 2016 thankfully for 2 nights. The single room was average size so made luggage storage easier. However there was a double book and moved all my items to another room even though I told them not to do it. Breakfast served each morning was very basic- just some breads, with canned fruit and coffee. Location was not central (20 minute walk to the city- you have to walk along a highway). However, the hotel is close to a pleasant park that is safe and well maintained. Area is safe. The staff were pleasant and did not have attitude. Overall would not stay there again.
- jana44444 (2/5): Never again - Hotel is on ok place, close to center..
When i walked in that room i didnt know or to get cleaning or to vomit...
First rooms are from 1900, tv didnt work and the chanels that did work were porns.. Bathrooms were old but solid.. I dont have problems with old hotels but 50 euros a night for that is defenitly too big price..
- alwynf2015 (6/5): Good for low cost - Stayed for a night on way to Poland, was ok for the price paid, very friendly lady on reception who was welcoming and helpful, rooms were basic but clean and secure, outside needs a bit of work but was situated well and was easy to get to Zagreb centre
- Balkanicious (2/5): Avoid, i repeat avoid! - I was here for one night and that was the worst night in my life! From the enter of the hotel which looked scary to the whole picture of it was absolutely terrible ! Smelly, VERY OLD and poorly looking hotel, bed was from 70 years ago, so uncomfortable, i could hear voices and sounds, even steps from outside and it was so scary since the window couldn't be closed and i felt like i was in some horror movie! I couldn't sleep how terrified i was! For the price of one night i could easily rent bb or just a nicely apartmant but i learned my lession!
Avoid this one, you really don't have anything interesting here to see! Poor and filthy hotel - it's overpriced!!
- Nibor88 (2/5): Roaches in the food!?! - I had hoped to enjoy Zagreb - a place where I've been several times. The cleanliness of this hotel is certainly in doubt. The local is great. I actually found the front desk helpful in scheduling reservations - but avoid the room service; we found dead roaches in the rice after consuming half the meal. On balance - this place needs a face lift, next time we're there - I'd like to try a different hotel.
- tonito641 (10/5): "Highly recommendable" - This hotel was fantastic ..Clean,wonderful rooms with super bed....the hotel is not far from City only 15min....stuff was super nice...the reception was very warm and thay giving advice for travel and what to see in Zagreb....Thank you for making my stay comfortable and leaving such great impression about Croatian hospitality... Hvala...
- CristinaR474 (2/5): So dissapointing! - Very old furniture, the bathroom was filthy, the room`s window could not be closed during the 5 nights I stayed there, so even if it was may, the nights were cold and I had to sleep in thick slothing. The breakfast was very modest, so I ate the same meal every morning. No water in the restaurant, only a very dubious-looking juice. The coffee I don`t even think it actually was coffee, because it tasted really strange and bad. Very dissapointing experience!
- GabrieleC3 (6/5): You get what you paid for... - First of all, the hotel is quite far from the city center: you can easily get a tram, but it's still a 20 minute ride to Jelačić Square. That said, the parking is free, large and really confortable if you reach Zagreb by car.
The building is old and looks scruffy, and once inside a closer look confirms the first impression, but people from the staff are kind and helpful.
The room I slept in was scruffy but the sheets were clean and the bathroom was ok.
Breakfast is nothing special: good bread, awful juice.
SO, in the end.... It's an average hotel. I recommend it if you are by car and on a budget -it's the cheapest hotel I found, and it was good... but I'm a backpacker. ;)
- EvitaPrague (4/5): rather motel, than hotel - I booked this hotel because of location, free parking and cheap price. It is close to a park, which is very nice place for a walk. I didn´t expect much, but I was quite dissapointed. The room stank of cigarette smoke, eventhough I asked for non-smoking room. The breakfast was very poor. Even the scrambled eggs were cold, which made them inedible, so were the sausages. The juice was masked yellow water. Only the bread was good. The furnishing and the bathroom was really old and out of date. The building needs total reconstruction. I appreciated the PC in lobby with free internet, while wi-fi in the rooms is paid. I recommend this hotel only for travellers with car, this centre is quite far to walk.
- SilvijaK_12 (8/5): Clean rooms, good breakfast - If you need a place to stay, and dont need some exclusiveness, but care more about cheap and clean rooms, I think this place will do. nice warm in winter days. Furniture is a bit older, but it is always clean. higher floorr rooms are non smoking. need to pay for wi fi if you want one (but you can find it in lots of caffes in center, and Arena shopping mall has it for sure). Breakfast is various and you can only dream about it in other european cities for this price. it is near Avenue mall (if you need shopping) and 10min from center with tram, ask on the reception for the station, its just 2 min away on foot. its located near the park so it isn noisy,we got good rest. In my opinion, it is an optimal solution.
- Chrismarog (6/5): Good Location - A rather tired looking 70's style motel. Average price, Average Breakfast, Grubby looking room, Had to pay for wifi, no air con. On the plus side Lovely night porter (gave me his fan) 3 stops in a straight line from centre on buses 220 or 221 an a 200metre walk and loads of buses run from approx 4am right thru till 1am. Very convenient for city and a must is the evening tour the secrets of Grich - really entertaining.
- sonia02gh (2/5): To be avoided - In a word: awful. I know this is a two stars hotel but even my most pessimistic expectations were overcome. I don’t know how I decided to book this exact hotel, but now I am sure that I could have found something much better for a similar price. The building needs extreme renovations (if I understood correctly, at the beginning, it was a hostel for students). The windows from the rooms are old and don’t even close properly. The furniture is also old, the room is very small and has a certain scent. Of course, no air conditioning or fridge. On a positive side, the rooms were almost clean and they provided the basic consumables. The staff is helpful, if they end their phone call conversations. The breakfast was ok and included all the main elements that can be found at any breakfast hotel. The location was not that great. It is next to a park and it has an accommodating parking but it is not near the center of the city, at least not next to the old city center which interests most tourists. You have to go by bus or taxi.
