• Andy (10/5): - The friendliest staff on our entire Tripp (we booked 18 motels for over a four weeks period.) very well maintained property, extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. The entire place is designed for relaxation and a welcomed break from a busy schedule to digest our road-trip experience. There is nothing I can think of, which I did not like. It was simply a pleasant experience.

Check in was easy. the cabin could use another lamp for us who cannot handle having the "big light" turned on. Would appreciate a few more hooks on the wall given the amount of gear packed for skiing.

Found the heater and plugged it in so room was warm and dry. Could not get TV to work correctly. Was disappointed for the cost.

• Matt (9/5): Awesome place to base in Shell - We rented the cabin and it was just wonderful for our group of five. Though it does not provide privacy, it is an ideal cabin for a family or group that is very well acquainted. The kitchen was well-supplied and offered ample ability to cook. The bathroom was very clean, large, and offered a great shower experience. The manager was extremely helpful, offering advice on the surroundings and help in every way. Thank you so much! There is very little in terms of services in Shell. That may be a plus for some. However, plan ahead in terms of groceries you may wish to bring.

Geld für die Maschienen konnten vor Ort an einem Automaten gewechselt werden. Achtung nur 1 Dollar Scheine. Würden wir wieder so buchen. Self Check in, somit kein Kontakt zum Personal. Sehr kleiner Ort, keine Einkaufsmöglichkeit für z.B. essen vor Ort.

• Barb (10/5): Cute, cozy, and comfortable - Shell campground cabins are exactly what a campground cabin should be. Small, cozy clean cabins. Bonus to have a small fridge, microwave small coffe maker and TV. No frills beyond that and we loved it! We had the deluxe with a double bed and twin bunks. We were comfortable for a two night stay.

• Patricia (10/5): - Beautiful cabin and area! We stayed here for just one night (wish it had been longer). We chose it for its convenience between Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone. It became a little less convenient when we were forced to change route due to wildfire on other side of mountain. It became very stressful when we had to go over mountain while clock-watching trying to get there before their 7PM check-in deadline, with no cell service to be able to call them. But, as it was, they did provide for us being a little late. Once there, though, stress melted away in the calm beautiful locale. It’s a beautiful spot! Cabin was clean, cozy, thoughtfully decorated. It had heat, refrig, internet. The owner was friendly and accommodating. If we go west again I would definitely plan another (longer) stay there.

Mold in the refrigerator. Portable air conditioner was so loud made it difficult to sleep . Worker did semi clean before we returned and gave us a clean bed spread . After we arrived it was difficult to get in contact with person running it no one ever in the office and called the number posted left several messages to no avail. We reserved on line and COULDN'T get a refund The pictures presented were not at all what it was . Super disappointed. Checked out 3 days early .would NOT recommend!!!!!!!

• Boyd (10/5): - The one thing I would mention there's really nothing here for shopping.. there is a store but I came in on a Sunday evening and it was closed I had to travel 15 miles to greybull to get any food or really shop for anything I don't know what it's like on the other days far as the little store in Shell.. I suggest if you need anything for you stay to make sure you have it before you get here.. and also make sure you have towels and washcloths for the shower house .. there wasn't any in my tent when I arrived and office was closed when I got here on Sunday evening.. the shower house was nice and clean.. I'm not sure of the office hours

I was irritated that the couple next door had radio on at 6:30 am and it was loud enough to keep me awake. Would have slept better if in my own cabin, not connected. Store didn’t open until 10:00 am, too late for most folks

• Christopher (10/5): - Would happily stay again, or have stayed longer. Stayed in one of the tents during a severe weather event: tent remained dry and sturdy despite rain and v strong WY winds. It's as-advertised, maybe not "glamping" but a very comfortable tent with a nice view and a deep stream directly in front. Comms were excellent: instructions were clear and they called that day to confirm. They recommend the local store for provisions, but right now that closes @4pm (about the moment I arrived) and opens late mornings, and there is *nothing* else for 15 miles, so I'd suggest you bring with you what you need for the first night and breakfast, at least.
• Ela (10/5): Beautiful stop in Wyoming - Very beautiful property! We stayed in the tent for one night. Amazing view facing a stunning sunset and with a little creek running right in front of us. Tent was very clean, bed was comfortable, looks exactly as pictured. The drive to the site was breathtaking and it was pretty quiet all night even though there is a road nearby. There was lawn games you are able to play with and bathroom/ showers so close by. I do wish there was more information on checking out as a tent since we left hoping we did everything properly, but we did appreciate the calm and easy manner it was to get our tent when checking in. Owners were very responsive through email when we first booked to answer any questions. Would stay again if crossing Wyoming in the future.
• Nve1988 (6/5): Exaggerated - Self check-in was easy. Facilities listed on this page are much exaggerated. There was no sofa, sofabed, or sitting area in our cabin (the Bunkhouse). Stovetop is a one-burner hotplate. There is no wardrobe or clothes rack. The view from the Bunkhouse was the main building on one site and another cabin on the other side. No mountain view. Washing machine and dryer only take quarters ($1.50 per load, so you need 6 quarters each time). The playground is a small grass field and a few balls to play with. No swings or slides. The convenience store is not one site but one block away.

We were late arriving yet staff was friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend the facility. We hope to return for another stay. The radiant heat was not working in our cabin. Staff however did provide a stand alone heater. It was cold regardless. Did have a few outside residence taking up wall space - cobwebs were thick. But this is/was the off-season. We were pleased to find the place open, feasible and totally different than your typical motel. Regardless of the temps, it was worth the stay.

We had already been out 8 days and the on-site laundry was great! The room was small but had absolutely everything we needed. • Verified traveler (8/5): Pre-hunt stay - My outfitter recommended Shell Campground as a place to stay prior to my hunting trip. The room worked fine for that purpose.
• Ron (6/5): - Nice value for the money. Our road trip itinerary changed due to road construction and they were very nice to let us change our stay to the next day. We stayed in a cabin which was fairly clean except we had to wipe out the frige. Bed was ok. We could have used more than one hand towel but we were only staying one night. They have a coin laundry which we used. Thete are picnic tables by the cabins and we saw a pretty sunset.

We're on a just retired road trip, stopping at places we've been wanting to go. The glamping tent was PERFECT to be off the grid, no TV, peace and quiet snuggled under blankets listening to the light rain. Woke up to deer outside our door! Enjoyed the dog friendly restaurant a few blocks away, delicious food and homemade dessert. Wish we could have stayed longer, will definitely be back.

• Scott (10/5): This is a wonderful property and the owners should be very proud of what they have created and are creating. A greater - The cottage and the overall property was excellent. The owner has put his / her heart and soul into the business and it shows except for the “ no contact” check-in and overall attachment to the guests. People want to connect, especially post-Covid. We just wanted the chance to compliment the owners on the accommodations. Others needed help with accessing and connecting to their RV site that was only provided by other residents.

• Keith (10/5): - Nice place to stay If you’re traveling between Yellowstone and Mount Rushmore or just happen to be in the area. Check in is easy And the cabins are clean, quiet and comfortable.
• Ervin (8/5): - It was quiet, clean, easy to get to easy access to the cabin, barbecue grill, good air conditioning I would definitely stay here again good showers and less money than a motel

• Laurie (10/5): - Very peaceful and quiet. The grocery store and bar up the road has the best burgers and my favorite Ale, Speed Goat. Beautiful sunsets and close to Shell waterfalls, closest to the Medicine wheel. Much cheaper than Lovell or Ten Sleep.

• Carla (10/5): - We loved staying at this cute little cabin. It was very clean and comfortable. A perfect place for our family to spend the night after the long day of driving and experiencing the Big Horn Mountains.

• Melissa (10/5): - Cabin was perfect for our family of 6. Check in and check out was easy. Everything' explained well via email. The cabin was clean, spacious and decorated very cute. Arrived late and checked out early the next morning. Beds were comfortable. Would have liked to stay longer but it was just a stopping point for the night. No complaints.

• Kimberly (8/5): Very good - The cabin was very cozy and comfortable, check-in/out was easy, the location is gorgeous and peaceful. I was there for some personal quiet time and a little Big Horn adventuring. It was the perfect place to stay. The wall between adjoining cabins is a bit thin. I had to keep the bathroom fan on so as not to hear the neighbors TV, throat clearing, and walking around. It made me feel like I had to keep my music and tv barely audible and careful how I move around, open/close things, and such so as not to disturb them.
• Maria (10/5): Wonderful place for making excursions in the wonderful surroundings. - The small cabin (delux queen studio) is located in a small RV park. It is nicely designed and well equiped, close to the incredible Shell falls and canyon.

• Dustin (10/5): Outstanding - Very well ran... So much closer to the BH than options in Greybull etc. I will certainly return. Very quiet and peaceful.

• Eric (10/5): - We were there off season so it was lightly filled. The owners are very gracious and the cabin was wonderful. Beautiful views nearby and a small town feel. Just outside Bighorn National Forest and mountains. A great location.

• Fran (8/5): lovely one-night stay on our road trip - quaint, friendly staff, quiet no place in town to eat, as it was Monday and the only restaurant in town was closed.
• Laurie (7/5): Nice place in good location just needs some comfort tweaks for those coming down from mountains and camping - nice, clean room, new but still rustic, close to the store. baked good were amazing. grounds are very well kept. The water does not get hot in the shower. could benefit from room service for more than 1 night stay to replenish towels and toilet paper could use tissues in room. The extra blanket in closet was stuffed in and not folded, looked used and not washed in between guests, bed spread on beds are very thin and do not provide warmth. Limited to no privacy in cabins with lack of personal fire ring/grill that seem to benefit those staying at the tents. The on-site grill was dirty and rickety and not grilling worthy.
