Guest Reviews

- Rutha (10/5): Great location in the Downtown. Highly recommended. - All the staff at the Azar Hotel were very friendly and accommodating. They were able to source things we needed and bring them to the hotel and we're really helpful when printing off our tickets. It was our first time here, after staying at various places in a similar price bracket in Cairo, and we'd return without hesitation. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable and the hotel was quiet at night. We had a large balcony and a spacious bedroom. Thanks again to all, for a very enjoyable stay.
- Suda (8/5): - We owed our trip to the staff so much. We really appreciate their support.
- Ekaterina (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent Nothing
- Mr.culture (7/5): Good - Nice Staff, Location, very clean finding the hotel was very difficult, no proper sign, no instruction !!!
Breakfast was always same and the service was not good! you have to find the kitchen by yourself and order the breakfast...
- Maram (10/5): Exceptional - The property is clean and people are nice.
- Ahmed (6/5): Pleasant -
- Youssef (7/5): Good -
- Loai (7/5): Good -
- Marianthi (8/5): Very good - I had a problem with the money we expected to be charged 788 Egyptian pounds but they asked us for 1000 pounds a room and said that the booking app is showing that amount of money. Also the internet didn’t work at all
- Du (7/5): Good - The staff were very friendly and willing to assist with tourist activities and getting around Cairo. And terrace was really nice to sit on at night and brought tranquillity to the chaos of the city. The hallways echo, so it was quite noisy when other guests returned during the night/early morning.
- Youssef (8/5): Good for the money paid - It's good for the money paid Staff is relatively slow at doing things, and you need to ask them about everything or they will probably forget to tell you.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Mısır merkezde bir otel - Otelin girişi belli değildi, onun haricinde şampuan yoktu her sey icin verilen katı sabun vardı, temizlik orta idi, 3 yıldızlı otel oldugu icin cok da birşey beklememek gerek sanırım.
- Mihai (8/5): Very good - Highly recommended.
- Gaston (6/5): Pleasant - Location They charged me 10 more euros than i was supposed to pay. I know they can charge a bir more but i think it was too much. 30% more of the total. Ridiculous
- Bakr (1/5): Bad -
- Panagiotis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saif (9/5): Superb - Very welcoming staff
Rooms are clean and comfortable
The place was near downtown
so it was easy to go anywhere from it
- John (9/5): Very good value and location - Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room. Nothing to dislike although during my stay the WIFI wasn't working.
- Nikolaos (1/5): Bad - Arrived all paid for via company travel platform and they claimed they haven’t received funds, made me pay cash for 7 nights then collected from my company pre booking , scammed to say the least, staying somewhere over 150 years building Below floors and entrance slums
- Ahmed (9/5): Superb -
- Robert Ethan (8/5): - We liked this place a lot. On the edge of downtown Cairo, it's accessible to the heart of the city and at any hour of the day or night, you can find what you want or need. Staff (Mr. Wael and Mr. Hissam) were delightful and helpful in so many ways. In this area, you wouldn't expect luxury and some aspects of the hotel are a little run down. (An example is a balcony door that wouldn't quite close, letting in a few mosquitos.) Breakfast is okay--the rooftop dining area is nice. Overall, glad we stayed here.
- Mr. (5/5): Passable -
- Abdulaziz (8/5): Very good - The cleanness
The staff
The location Its at the sixth floor with one elevator
- Sinisa (8/5): Very good - Splendid location.Fine receptionist.Balcony view.
- Putnik_namernik (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel is in the downtown, it is excellent and more than expected. Big and clean rooms, tidy bathrooms, comfortable and clean beds.
- surendran (10/5): - Clean room with very good service at central location at reasonable prices
- Mohamed (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kelen (9/5): Superb - The staff was really helpful and kind. We could leave our lauggages after we have checked out and use the bathroom and shower as well. The rooftop is amazing:) The breakfast was same every day but it was ok.
The rooms are a bit used.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing staff... Really friendly front desk team. Hotel is like an oasis of calm in downtown Cairo. It's an amazing city but intense. You take the lift in an unasumimg building to the 6th floor and rooftop..you enter another world. Clean rooms. Good size with air conditioning and a wet room/bathroom. You even get your own bathroom. A total hidden gem of a hotel. Nothing
- Alessandro (7/5): Good -
- Kenza (10/5): Exceptional - Feels like home thanks to عم احمد
- Susan (8/5): Very good - The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and were a highlight of my stay. Breakfast was served on the roof.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Friendly but basic - A fun area to stay, with very friendly and helpful staff and at a good price. However, the room was sparse and shabby, only had a bed and bedside table. The bathroom was spacious but needed properly cleaning and the tiled floors were very slippery when wet. It all felt a little more dated than it should.
- Ibrahim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hyung Goo (8/5): - It is located in the center of the city with shopping center, restaurants and shops. The staff is friendly and they have pick up service from Cairo airport.
- Departuresone (8/5): Good location in Central Cairo close to Metro Stations, can also arrange day tours - Location is in a busy part of central cairo close to Attaba or Naser Metro stations so easy to get around. Lively street below so restaurants and shops to get drinks. Hotel is on top floors so rooms were quieter. Roof terrace with cool evening breezes. Breakfast provided in covered area of roof. Staff speak excellent english and desk is manned all hours. Elevator to bring you up but not designed for lots of large luggage. They arranged a day tour to Alexandria but used a bad exchange rate so make sure to check amount first. Also some disagreement over itinerary, where they had planned vs where I wanted to go but we sorted it out. I did not see any westerners staying here but there is nothing wrong if you are willing to stay local. Staff all spoke english, the district was safe, and I was using the metro stations to get around. Also paid for late check out on last day as I had the sleeper train to leave Cairo. Entrance is not actually on Adly Street but the west side street, or you can come up the west alleyway on Adly to get to the entrance. Have to climb 6 floors if the elevator does not work.
- Hala (9/5): Superb -
- Mcadam (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ali (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (5/5): Not bad experience - Reception is good and cooperation is good. The level of cleanliness is not enough. And the breakfast places are not good, also the quality of the breakfast is not completely good. The single bathroom is broken and there are no bathroom amenities such as a towel, soap, or shower gel
- Merhan (8/5): Very good -
- Omar (2/5): Very poor - The breakfast
- Haitham (1/5): Bad - Nothing Bad location
- Mohammed (8/5): Very good -
- Saber (6/5): Pleasant -
- Amine (7/5): Good -
- Deo (8/5): Very good -
- Yamato (10/5): Near to metro station - Location good
Friendly staff
Good roof views
- Badia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Habib (10/5): Exceptional - Professional service downtown cairo Close to all amenities Nothing not to like
- Mohammed (7/5): Good -
- Loren (8/5): amazing hotel in the heart of Cairo! - location & decor entrance to building
- Reham (8/5): Very good -
- Gelan (9/5): Superb -
- Bryn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pawel (8/5): Central Cairo with a great value for money. - Central in Cairo with amazing service-minded reception. Great people working at the place, either taking care of the space, cleaning the elevator or having a nice chat with guests. Cleanliness of the hotel is top-pop. Rooms are large enough - big plus for all the rooms with a balcony. Great bathrooms. Access to tea and coffee 24/h. Spacious rooftop. One of the best choices in the area - great value for money. Breakfast is very basic - two breads, cheese, hardboiled egg and banana. Definitely there is a space for improvement here.
- Peter (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anonymous (7/5): nice location thought will come back - nice location although the entrance looks scary scary lift
- Mohamed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pawel (9/5): Superb - People working at the place are great, helpful, service minded and with a good sense of humour. Even if outside life in Cairo does not stop until late at night you can get a good night sleep. In the room is just quiet. Very nice rooftop where you can enjoy your breakfast, coffee and tea. What's not to like?
- Mohammed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mohamed (8/5): nice Hotel - nice location- clean
- Bryn (10/5): impressed - very good location, middle of downtown, very welcoming staff, rooms clean and rooftop is amazing. hard to find but just give them a call when you are nearby and they will come to you
- Mohd (8/5): Very good -
- Mustafa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Irshaad (7/5): Good -
- Yashtir (7/5): Ok for Down Town Cairo - Good wifi, good shower, comfortable bed Lots of roaches in the room
- Haynesta (7/5): A good stay in the city centre - The hotel has recently undergone a refurbishment in a modern style. Check-in/reception staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was a good size, clean and comfortable. It had adequate power outlets for battery/phone charging and tea/coffee making facilities as well as a private balcony. We were unable to avail of the complimentary breakfast (available on the 7th floor roof terrace) but the facility looked somewhat spartan. We arrived by train and discovered the hotel could be reached within a 20-minute walk but crossing roads was a challenge.
The hotel is located close to a number of restaurants and bars as well as several shops. Access to the hotel was a little difficult as its entrance is off Emad El-Deen (rather than the 9 Adly address provided by the owner) and then up several steps before reaching a lift for the 6th floor when the hotel is located.
The wooden storage unit beneath the sink in the bathroom had clearly suffered from water penetration and the shower floor was slippery.
Furniture provided on our private balcony looked somewhat faded.
- Ziyuan (7/5): Good - Location, quiet (compare to other hotels in downtown Cairo) No kettle in the room, TV can't switch on, space small
- Helen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Scott (8/5): Nice Hotel. - Located 6 and 7 floors up, it’s very peaceful at night, during the day, the streets are absolutely mobbed and chaotic. Bed was comfortable, shower was good, can’t ask for anything more really. Rooms are as the photos, but are dated, not new as they look. Still perfectly acceptable though.
- Wojciech (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ahmed (9/5): Superb -
- Salar (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mirto (1/5): No for a European citizen - Nothing. It was a bad experience for a European citizen. Nothing compare with photos. It was dirty, we left the next day.
- Mullins (3/5): Room very small , only cold water - room very small , no hot water , i will never stay in a place again that does not provide hot water , when sleeping the tap on the bidet fall off which i never even used and it could have flooded the room and ruined my passport , money etc, if i didn't wake up and know that full pressure water was flowing in the bathroom on to the floor and bedroom floor, my passport, money , clothes etc could have been ruined , i booked a taxi for the airport the night before but they said in the morning that the booking was never made , they said that they would provide a better safe taxi to the airport but the prices would be higher , i paid a higher price to the hotel for a better taxi instead an assistant from the hotel took money off me and instead of providing their taxi , they took me down to the road and he hailed a very old car which never had a taxi sign on it and only gave the driver part of the money which i gave them and when i got to the airport the driver expected more money from me because they only paid the driver very little of the money which i paid the hotel , i felt I and the driver were taken advantage off by the hotel keeping a proportion of the money for themselves instead of giving it to the driver , hotel was hard to find without proper signage
