Good value. The bathroom has absolutely no privacy. Not only is the door a slider but the walls of the bathroom are basically see-through. Not to mention there isn’t a fan or anything to drown out sounds.

• 349reecej (10/5): Great Holiday Vibe at the Jupiter Next! - At Jupiter Next, the rooms are spacious, nicely laid out and always clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the location, views and amenities awesome. Close to restaurants and a short 20 min walk to downtown for the Saturday Market. Next is my go to hotel whenever I am in Portland and I've stayed there over half a dozen times over the last 5 years.

• 126austinj (10/5): Fantastic Stay with a True "Local" Vibe In a Great Location - Our week-long stay at Jupiter Next was fantastic. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful. As a light sleeper, I was initially very concerned about noise, given online reviews mentioning nearby excessively loud bars and the fact that I would be working on my stay. However, I slept perfectly the entire time, perhaps due to choosing a high-floor room (6), as I had researched. The bar below does play loud music, but from my floor I didn't hear it at all. If you are a light sleeper and concerned, I would also suggest securing one of the high level room categories (Next Level X) to be safe. The main reason for selecting this property was its excellent proximity to all the great dining spots, which provided a more "local" feel than staying downtown. I was walking distance from several highly awarded restaurants (James Beard) and bars. I also, especially appreciated the unique in-room beverages (like sparkling CBD) and the well-stocked amenities. The downstairs bar was charming and served great drinks. I got to watch them transform from their normal decor into their Christmas theme during my stay in December. Very charming and cute. My only critique for this property is the lack of on-site amenities. Specifically, a gym would have been ideal to help burn off the calories consumed at all the nearby foodie spots. I wonder if it would be possible to convert some of the unused space on the second floor for this purpose or space at sister property that could be used? Even just a room with basic gym equipment would go a long way for me. This single amenity gap is the only thing that would make me hesitate to book again. Otherwise, I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

• betsyp222 (4/5): Pass on this hotel… - This is a low budget option without a low budget price. The sink is outside the bathroom and was a stainless steel kitchen sink. There were no drawers, few hangers, and the room was depressing. The hotel bar and restaurant were not affiliated with the hotel so you can’t charge to your room. It took 25 minutes to get someone to take my money after a bad meal and worse service. I can’t recommend this hotel.

Food options are expansive in the area, from high end to everyone inclusive vibe places. Room was tidy, clean, comfy, quiet. Great value, convenient. I usually do Airbnb when I visit family and friends in Portland but I think this is a better choice.

• awjeffries85 (10/5): Nice spot for a weekend getaway - I was in town over the weekend of 9/19 for a concert. This hotel was a nice, centralized location within walking distance to the venue and other spots in town. The staff was very friendly and courteous, the room was clean, sleek, modern, and comfortable. I particularly liked the “fresh air” patio on the 3rd floor to have my complimentary morning cup of coffee. It was the weekend, so the lobby bar was hopping but not anything to warrant a noise complaint. For 3 nights, it was an affordable, cozy, convenient stay and I hope to return here again soon.

• Katparrasings (10/5): Best Decision Ever! - I had left an AirBnB that didn’t meet my expectations and found Jupiter Next. Best decision ever. The front desk manned by Matthew, was a perfect intro to the hotel as he was incredibly friendly and welcoming, helping to make my stay even better. Matthew saw there would be a wedding party for a couple of days during my stay and made sure to put me in a room far from the partying and noise. The room was clean, super comfortable bed, great shower and best of all— quiet! Thanks especially to Matthew for making my stay so fantastic. I will definitely be back and recommend to other travelers.

We had a great view of the city and the mountains from our room and the room had a very modern/urban vibe to the decor which we liked. You get complimentary coffee in the mornings down in the lobby and the restaurant downstairs was really tasty for dinner and cocktails. We went right across the street to Grendels Coffee in the morning to get coffee and breakfast sandwiches and just loved spending the mornings there. We saved money not parking in their garage but parking in a paid surface lot behind the hotel which we had no issues with.

The staff were incredibly friendly and even surprised us with an upgrade for our anniversary, which made the trip extra special. Nice hot shower, with plenty of space because the sink is outside the bathroom. Lots of counter space around the sink. Lots of soft fluffy towels. Long narrow desk with plenty of space for work and eating. Great in-room snacks and a refrigerator fully stocked with beverages. Comfy beds. Been sleeping like a rock. Giant TV. Thoughtfully placed light fixtures, convenient for every spot in the room. A lot of electrical outlets to re-charge electronics. Excellent air conditioning with your own unit and thermostat. I am allergic to everything, but not this AC. Not one sneeze the whole time I have been here. Great view from my room, which faces south. Black-out blind and sheer curtains (both super clean, by the way, no finger prints). Super quiet. The front desk staff has been excellent. Polite, friendly, helpful. I love the free coffee and tea bar downstairs. I don't need to make coffee, no mess or smell in the room. Very quiet. Seems like the room is soundproof. No bar music during my stay, though I think music is the reason you come to Portland. It's the reason I'm here.

• EirishC (8/5): Awesome Hotel with Great Food Nearby - We stayed at Jupiter NEXT for a family vacation and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect—there are plenty of great places to eat nearby, all within walking distance. About a block away, Le Pigeon and Canard serve creative French-inspired dishes and cocktails. And about a five minute walk, Project Matcha offers handcrafted matcha beverages and treats. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!

• O9571ORjessicai (4/5): Poor Front Desk Interaction - I booked a room at Jupiter Next through my travel rewards card and called to ask about early check in. The hotel didn’t have my reservation. I called my card’s customer service and they eventually got the reservation to show up on the hotel’s end but the front desk wasn’t able to “push through” the reservation without a manager and had to wait until the following day (the day I would be arriving). I wanted confirmation of a place to stay so the credit card rep decided to use a one time use card to reserve a room on my behalf. I called the hotel afterwards and spoke with Ethan who stated he can see the new booking but wouldn’t honor it without a credit card authorization form (I “could have gotten any credit card off the street and used it to book”). I had been on the phone about 1.5 hours at the time of this interaction but I was not directing my frustration at him until he started pretentiously lecturing me about booking third party and credit card authorization forms. I didn’t want to arrive to Portland for the first time (on a leisure long weekend) to start dealing with hotel issues and Ethan truly put a bad taste in my mouth. So I ended up canceling my trip all together because it was too late to find different accommodations. With all the great reviews (why I booked originally) I’m wondering if my phone encounter was a one off or if he was just annoyed that he had to do his job. At any rate, if he is a representation of Portland, it’s not a good look.

Superb dining just around the corner (Canard,Normandie). Great coffee shop (J&M Cafe). Near to downtown. Straight shot to Japanese Garden/Rose Garden/Powell’s books in one direction, Mt Tabor in the other. Easy access to I84 and I5. What’s not to like? Nothing

The floors are a bit thin so the person above you can impact your stay if they walk like an elephant but on the whole, it's a swanky hotel for the prices. The bar was also a nice place to stop in and treat myself to a slushy!

• NewYorker44 (8/5): Surprisingly kind and friendly for rocker hotel - I was put off initially because I called to ask if I could get a quiet room and the person who answered told me in a surly voice not to stay there ... plus there are all those reviews saying it is noisy and I was there for work. But people in Portland kept telling me to stay! So I did. I honestly found it to be very quiet and the bed was really comfortable. Plus there is the pretty bar and all those nice restaurants nearby. It took me a day or two to realize I could get breakfast there and also to remember there is a 10% discount at some of the restaurants so maybe that's something they could point out on check-in. I also wish they provided a kettle and a safe but I managed .... Incredibly nice housekeepers and the rooms were super-clean. I also had a great view.

The rooms are spacious, clean and convenient and my view of the Portland city skyline was spectacular. Having Hey Love restaurant in the building for bar/food is a nice touch.
• Wesley (9/5): Great place to stay, will come back. Maybe with my own sheets/blankets. - Complimentary coffee and tea were tasty. The smoking balcony areas were convenient. The sheets/comforter could be improved. The velcro does not stayed closed to keep the comforter inside the duvet. The scratchy feeling of the opening was not enjoyable.

• SacramentoMichelle (4/5): Nice place but too noisy for a return visit - Room was clean and updated. Location is great. However, this hotel is very noisy. You can hear people talking above you, next to you and definitely in the halls. Furthermore, if you get a room facing Burnside, Club Trio is a huge noise problem. We stayed over on a weekend, and Saturday night the noise didn't stop until 3:00a. You could hear the DJ and the crowd inside the club. Which I don't get considering noise restrictions in Portland are 10p-7a.
• Gyolai (7/5): Very modern, clean hotel with comfortable beds, but zero storage. Location was disappointing - Very modern, clean, secure, and staff was good. Beds were comfortable and AC worked well. Too modern. Absolutely no storage for clothes or belongings. I mean nothing. Not a dresser or nightstand to put your clothes. Literally lived out of our suitcase for several days. Thin walls so we could hear everything.

• Sean (10/5): - We loved the upscale boutique hotel vibes at a great price point. There's cool, funky shopping across the street and it's very easy to get around whether by foot or Uber/car. Parking was a little expensive, but it's underground and safe, which I feel is needed in a neighborhood that lacks street parking.
• Epperson (10/5): Exceptional - Great location & amenities! Very friendly staff! There was a nightclub/bar across the street that was very loud!
• Victoria (10/5): Just what I needed for a work trip + recreation - Stayed 4 nights for a business trip. Overall, a great experience. The staff were super helpful when I had questions and the room was perfect for my needs. The hotel bar has excellent food and drinks and a wonderful vibe. The hotel itself is within walking distance of many lovely shops and restaurants.

• Caylin (7/5): Clean rooms, comfy beds, kind staff. - The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms and property were clean and well maintained. The beds were really comfortable. The parking garage cost and that it is not attached the property. The hotel bar is cute but gets very busy and loud on Saturday nights.
• Melissa (10/5): Home away from home in my hometown - I moved away from Portland many years ago but it's still my hometown. Whenever I visit, I stay at Jupiter NEXT because I get exceptional service, superior comfort, & great views of my favorite city.
• haydens620 (10/5): loved Next - Loved our stay! Clean, amazing design, and gorgeous restaurant/bar at the bottom. Amazing to be in such a central location to restaurants and concert venue. We didn't know about Next, just knew about Jupiter (Doug Fir), but the reviews made me nervous that us old folks wouldn't get the quiet sleep we needed. Happy with our choice of Jupiter Next!
• scottgG2043RU (10/5): Excellent hotel in central PDX - My room was very quiet, the bed extra comfortable, the shower was hot and the staff was excellent. Came to PDX for a conference and would definitely stay here again next year. The location is in a convenient distance to the convention center, as well as many local bars and restaurants.
• benergizer2017 (10/5): An east side gem - Very comfortable bed. Spacious room and very clean bath-shower area. The complementary coffee is always appreciated. The staff is pleasant and a stop at the bar is a fun experience. Nice views toward Dwtn. Quiet at night …. Rates are reasonable and easy departure to airport (used Uber).

• karalavelle (8/5): Glad I visited, would consider returning - Comfortable bed and great view. Aesthetically pleasing interior design. Shower is great while using it, but it steams up the whole room. I don't recommend walking in the neighborhood unless you are prepared to dodge human fluids on the sidewalk (not an issue right outside the hotel, though).
• W8467FVnataliam (8/5): Quality hotel. - Nice hotel off Burnside. Within walking distance of lots of nice restaurants such as Canard and Le Pigeon and The Scotch lodge. Rooms were clean and nice, city views, yummy coffee in the morning. Cute bar downstairs. Staff were friendly and helpful. The parking sucks.

• Voyager761248 (10/5): Jupiter NEXT - I will return again - Our 6th floor room had a beautiful view of the sunset. We enjoyed the location as it is near many good restaurants and within walking distance of the river. While I attended my conference, my husband was able to explore the city and walk the riverfront park. Voodoo donuts was a fun find!

• Sarah (6/5): - The room was clean, beds were very comfortable. The team were friendly and helpful. We stayed with 2 younger kids and only for 1 night so it didn’t bother us but had we stayed longer we would’ve preferred a larger room. Our room was on level 3 (I think 2 floors above the hotel bar) and we could hear the music until 3am.. this was on a Friday night though so maybe this is not usually the case on a week day.
