Huskermale (9/5): Local Motel, very nice - Bobbie at the front desk was great and very welcoming. The rooms lock with a keypad, so no fumbling with a key or key card to get in. The bed was fantastic and very comfortable. The pillows were just right, size and comfort wise. The bathroom was a little tight, but the shower was very refreshing with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The body wash, shampoo and conditioner were nice. The bath towels were a little "rough" but absorbent. No in room coffee but 24 hour coffee in the lobby. The TV was good size and easy to understand, having built in ROKU for streaming channels (personal login is automatically erased at checkout) and also has DIrecTV. Breakfast was good with sausage patties, eggs, biscuits & gravy, cold and hot cereal and waffles. Plus a few other grab and go options. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area. Vending machine out of order. If we were not two doors from the lobby, no coffee pot in the room would have been more of a problem. Room refrigerator and a/c were not on when we arrived, which being pre-booked and paid, would have been nice.

Rex (8/5): Great! - Staff was great and they allowed us to be a little flexible on check out with our baseball game schedule. We have stayed in Des Moines/Ames 4 times within the last year. This has been our best experience. We usually travel for youth sports and stay cheap since it is literally a night or two. However, this has been the best. Breakfast was very comparable to a Quality Inn style. The cool thing is this hotel has some little sayings and banners around the hotel. Seems cheesy and goofy but it made me laugh and put a smile on my face. There is nothing I could bring up that we did not like.

Dorschner (10/5): I would recommend this hotel to anyone, regardless of your lodging needs. - Smooth online reservation. We were warmly greeted upon arrival. Every interaction we had with a staff member was exceptional. Our room was very clean and the beds were quite comfortable. Not sure where you would find a more welcoming hotel with pool, game room, workout facility, complimentary breakfast, and laundry facility for the price. Its location is easy on/off highway 65. Our stay was a bit rushed, so unfortunately, we didn't have time to enjoy the pool and/or workout room. From my experience, I can't think of one thing where this place falls short. Five stars for Hotel Pommier!

Heather (2/5): Not the greatest place to stay at. - It was close to where i needed to be for a funeral for my cousin who suddenly passed and close to food and a walmart 1st. After checking in i left to go to my cousins funeral. I was only gone for about 2 hrs . I took pictures of my bag my charging cord and the tv remote before i left cause i was robbed before at a hotel. When i returned i noticed my stuff wasnt left the way i left it. Someone was in my room. 2nd a room that they tried to give me the tub had patched holes and it was poorly fixed and the tub had a dirt black ring around it. And there was trash left in the bathroom. The other room they gave me was a little better but still dirty.

Bradley (6/5): - BEWARE: All Expedia rooms are on the 2nd floor and they have NO ELEVATOR. In every other aspect, it is a very nice hotel. Wal-Mart across the street. Taco Bell next door on one side and McDonald's on the other. Lousy coffee but an otherwise good breakfast. But my husband is a cardiac patient and the lack of an elevator was a serious problem.

Russ (8/5): - The overall property and room were dated but clean. Upon checkin we noticed there were hairs in the bathtub and on shower walls. When we reported it, the staff was quick to clean the whole bathroom. We were disappointed that the television in the bedroom did not work, the staff could not get it working and did not offer to replace the television or the Direct TV modem so that we would have a working television. The hotel was booked at very low capacity, so there were plenty of possible subsitutes. The check in staff was excellent and very helpful.

When I checked in the receptionist was sure to be vocal of that fact that she will have to change my reservation to another room since she saw a dog in my car when I pulled up. She then tried attaching an $88 (EIGHTY EIGHT!) dollar fee to that until I provided prof of my dog being a registered service animal, which was reluctantly accepted with an eye roll. As I was in town for a wedding I requested a late checkout which was granted with another eye roll. Yet exactly at 10am, which is 1 hour before check out time and 2 hours before late check out, and although I had a do not disturb sign on the door, a housekeeper comes walking in unannounced as she was told by front desk the room had been vacated The property itself I found to be very nice. Clean, modern, nice patio area and good breakfast. The “hospitality” workers however, could benefit from a workshop or 2 on hospitality

Peggy (8/5): - This is our go to stay when we are in Indianola to see our kids. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that so e places have bit that is not our dialog. For the price it is great. Staff is always friendly, breakfast is good. Love the apples and coffee available all the time. Even though it is now the highway it is quite. The lobby is great for extended conversation too.

Christopher (8/5): Nice local hotel - Short trip to Indianola for a few days of work. Chose to stay at the Hotel Pommier because of the reviews and the local flair of the place. Everything was good accept for the refrigerator. Understandably the hotel turns them off when rooms are not in use to save on electricity, however there was a very distinct and unpleasant odor coming from the fridge. The odor did improve as the fridge cooled back down, but it made an impression.
