Freshly cooked breakfast from a decent choice. Also very good. Great location, right in centre of West Bay. Nothing really. It was fairly represented.
• John (10/5): Fabulous time at The George 🤩 - The location was fantastic and view from our room over the harbour was amazing. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and we ate two nights and the food was fantastic. This was our second stay both times for our anniversary and both times were amazing and had so much fun. Booked again whilst there and very much looking forward to seeing you all again soon. • Gloria (10/5): Great position in West Bay with very nice room. - Right in the middle of West Bay, close to bus stop and with terrace next to the river. Nice room with good shower. Arrived for breakfast just after they had finished serving as we got times wrong but still allowed us to have it, and it was a huge full English. Breakfast can do with finishing later,but I understand they have got to get pub ready for lunches etc.

Lots of storage, very nice bathroom with nice toiletries. Very good breakfast too Very steep staircases to rooms, not suitable for less mobile!

• Jackie (9/5): Good place to stay in West Bay. - The property was in a good location and had a car park for guests. Furnished rooms were large, clean and fresh with tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, bottled water and toiletries in the bathroom. The bed was large with good linen and 2 pillows each plus cushions. Breakfasts were very good and it was no problem adapting them for dietary needs. The pub/restaurant menu has lots to choose from and the meals are very good. Unfortunately we found the bed to be uncomfortable for us. Seagulls in the area deposited onto cars whilst flying over. The staff were helpful as they let us have a jug of water and some blue roll to clean the windscreen.

The George works hard to look after its customers. - Lovely room with great view, very nicely furnished, and comfortable bed etc. Staff friendly and helpful, excellent breakfast and we enjoyed our evening meal. We were very fortunate with the weather and very much enjoyed our stay.

• Graham (8/5): A great place for a long weekend break - A perfect location with excellent and well-trained and attentive staff. We enjoyed the breakfasts ( we didn’t have a chance to try other mealtimes on this holiday) Could be a bit noisy ( it is a pub in a seaside town after all) and some of it was a little bit run down ( though that was part of the charm of the place perhaps?)

• Michael (8/5): Good location, nice room, friendly and helpful people, good food. - The room was comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was excellent quality with generious portions. Can't comment on dinner as we ate elsewhere due to other commitments but the menu looked good. No long mirror in the room. The bathroom mirror was too high (we are short 1.6m - 5'2") No shelving or hooks in the shower cubicle to put gel, shampoo, sponge or flannel etc on.

• Milly (6/5): Down at heel - Good location for walking and exploring West Bay. This was once the principal inn in West Bay with its prominent position in the harbour and yet it feels very unloved and down at heel. No heating or real fire on early evening and cheap chairs and tables propped up with beer mats. Breakfast the next day was poor - poached eggs like bullets tasting of vinegar. The landlady wandering around with an armful of her personal laundry. Cleaning products left on the bar. Before arrival we were messaged about opening hours but it would have been nicer to have added a note about where we could park rather than having to move the car from the parking in front of the pub. For £125 odd this is poor value.

• Rachel (9/5): Great friendly hotel - Booked for my parents and apparently the best breakfast ever.. we joined them for dinner and the food was great! Great parking Not their fault but mum and dad were at the top of the hotel. I should have mentioned her mobility issues but they coped.

My room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The food was delicious and nicely presented. Overall, a wonderful experience — I couldn’t have asked for better hospitality. Highly recommended!

• Elizabeth (10/5): - The George is ideally located in the center of town near to a bus stop. Everything about our stay was wonderful; a large en-suite room beautifully decorated with large bathroom. We ate dinner at the George day of arrival which was delicious and breakfast was fabulous. I highly recommend the George.
• Lauren (6/5): It was too windy (and rainy) to really enjoy the outdoors, or the beach. The breakfast is great! - The staff were all lovely. Really good breakfast! Parking! A second chair in the room and a small table would have been great. A luggage rack or two would be helpful as well. Lots of stairs, but knew that going in-an old building. No refrigerator.

• Kay (10/5): One not to be missed - Our second visit and still an excellent place to stay. Everyone is friendly and they all go the extra mile to make sure your stay is enjoyable. Breakfast always exceeds expectations and sets you up for the day. It’s always a busy pub but everyone makes sure you are welcome. We had our evening meals there. Lovely fresh produce, tasty, well presented and always enough to fill you. We will certainly be returning yet again,

• Alexandra (10/5): - We hadn't realised we'd booked something in West Bay, we thought we'd booked in Bridport, but the people in West bay were absolutely lovely and so friendly, and we found a great place to eat, so we were absolutely delighted with our little mini break. Thank you to all staff at the George pub, you were all fabulous and smiley and welcoming. We would recommend this place highly.
