Guest Reviews

- Lisa (7/5): Everything good but Not worth the Price for a Hostel - The whole Area is very nice and the Facilies are Perfect for Meeting new people - real Hostel Atmosphere and the Shared Areas are very clean and pretty. Beds are super comfortable. Our Room was tiny and didn‘t had any Charme. Not Even a nightstand light or anything like the Pictures. We had our Honeymoon and Even asked if we can have a nice room. Felt like the gave us the worst of the rooms.

- Estelle (8/5): - Very well located and nice staff ready to help anytime. The rooms were good, facilities and swimming pool as well. But the beds weren’t comfortable at all for the price we pay..
- Mauricio (10/5): Excelente - Todo Super bonito
- Elisa (7/5): -
- John (10/5): One of the best places I’ve stayed - The perfect place for co working great space Greta internet friendly team loved it Room was not cleaned at any time during my 5 night stay
- Barbara (10/5): Un 10!
- Julie (9/5): Very lovely private room and well maintained facilities with the loveliest staff. - The room felt really new and the bed was super comfortable. The staff was incredibly sweet and very helpful. We also loved the little breakfast truck! The only downside is the bathroom door in the room. It‘s kinda just a stall door, so there isn’t really a lot of privacy.
- Shaffven (10/5): -
- Melissa (8/5): -
- Iida (7/5): - Amazing co-working space I have never met as unpolite volunteers in my life than here. This is the reason why I wouldn’t choose this hostel again.
- Matthias (9/5): -
- Lizzie (6/5): Not for me - Pool was nice although smaller than it looked on the pictures but there was always space to chill. The free yoga classes Hayley the teacher was friendly welcoming and held space for your own practice. Very close to the beach I really wanted to like this place but it wasn't for me. It had a strange vibe not social unless your part of the click. Then theres the remote workera who keep together. The rooms were poor bed uncomfy no sockets or light by bed and no curtains. There were literally 3 showers and 3 toilets for 8+ dorms each holding either 6 or 4 people which is clearly not enough also there was no privacy frosted glass which was virtually see through. Although there was space to chill it was right outside the rooms which is poorly thought out. 11pm no noise was not adhered on most nights.
- Lauren (4/5): More hostel than hotel - Amazing location, cool coworking space, nice pool This was a hostel which I wasn’t prepared for. The photos of the room made it look a lot nicer than the one I stayed in and my first time showering I cut my foot open on a rusty drain cover that was loose in the shower. I notified the property of this and it was never dealt with. The screen in the bathroom was also mostly falling off. Towel changes were self service and it just wasn’t was I was expecting.
- Esteban (10/5): -
- Jordan (8/5): Very enjoyable time, fun Euro crowd. - Quiet, good for remote work. Clean, relatively quiet. Nice pool, outside showers. Ronny’s 1 market is basically at the end of the driveway. You will meet plenty of interesting Europeans, which is always fun. The rooftop gym is great, as well as the yoga & Pilates classes. Free coffee in the workroom area. Nearby Carmen beach is beautiful. Volunteer Argentinians were colder than the ice cubes in the freezer. I’m a low-ego fella, but I will always say hola to people, as well as engage in lite, Spanish convo’s. Hospitality, is clearly not in their vocabulary. 2 full-time people, (trained in Hospitality), alternating check-in is all they need.
- Karel (9/5): Surfers & digital nomads vibes. - This hotel used to be part of the Selina accommodation network before; I used to stay there in 2021. It is in a perfect location, it has a coworking, a shared kitchen (modernized since the Selina times). It is a good accommodation for a good price, usually used by surfers and digital nomads. Liked the vibe. Good facilities, nice swimming pool. The rooms are small and basic, but clean and well-designed. I enjoyed my stay. There is just one WiFi for the whole hotel. The coworking space does not have a dedicated WiFi. So while working there, you have to use the hotel WiFi. It was very slow, but after many complaints, they modernized the WiFi during my stay, and then it worked fine. I would still advise dedicating a separate WiFi for the coworking.
- David (9/5): - Rooms are beatiful and very clean. Mattress was recent, firm enough but comfy as well as the sheets. Staff a bit snubby, not very welcoming overall.
- inigo (10/5): -
- Kathryn (10/5): Beautiful hostel with aircon - Liked the air conditioned dorm, great kitchen and hot and cold water dispenser. Free yoga classes and nice spaces to chill Quite a few digital nomads so felt a bit more like a coworking space than a social hostel vibe but that could have just been the people I was there with at the same time.
- Hélène (8/5): -
- TallulahRH (9/5): - Beautiful accommodation in a great location
- Sanne (10/5): Perfect! - It was amazing!
- Adeline (9/5): Magnifique - Tout était magnifique, merci beaucoup !
- Sophia (8/5): - Eu adorei a equipe.

- Zach (10/5): Viva Argentina 🇦🇷🇮🇪 - Fantastic atmosphere and facilities, and the kindest and most caring staff you could ask for. Gracias Team Armonia❤️

- Zach (10/5): - Super comfortable, great facilities and such a warm and welcoming team

- Cassidy (10/5): - It was a beautiful property! Like a treehouse tucked away in the jungle, but right on the main strip 5 mins across the street from playa Carmen. Close to great cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores. Our check in process went smoothly and the private family room was perfect, except that we noticed quite quickly the AC wasn’t working on the 2nd level in the bedrooms. The staff were so kind and quick to work hard and fix it by the time we went got back for dinner. 10/10 customer service. Would absolutely stay here again!
- Charlotte (6/5): - Booked a 4 bed dorm but when I checked into the property, the dorm was attached to a massive kitchen/communal space with an 8 bed dorm at the other end. There was only 1 bathroom between us, there was a $5 charge for a towel (there were not even hand towels or bath mats provided in the bathroom), barely any windows and the air con did not work. Definitely not the worst hostel I have stayed in but far from the best.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Love Selina santa teresa south! The pool is so clean and beautiful and they clean the rooms if you want. They upgraded us to a private room but I’ve stayed in the shared bunks and it was very nice and clean too. The people here are super nice and friendly. Also monkeys. Lots of monkeys.
- stephen (2/5): - Bloody sheets upon check in could not be changed until the next day. Laundry service took 3x as long as promised.
Stay away
- Stiven (6/5): - Good place
- Kim (8/5): Selina South - Pros: great location, friendly staff. Cute decorative touches, lots of places to lounge, nice little pool, great workout area (no weights). Tasty food truck!
Cons: The curtains don't keep out any light, and there is construction everywhere starting super early. My room was on the second floor and above me sounded like about a thousand pigeons. Inability to sleep was my biggest bummer.
- Sara (10/5): Lovely stay! - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable, there were lots of amenities and convenience was great. Location was great and we really love the coworker area. So nice to have filtered water and a beautiful apartment option with a kitchen
- Maayan (8/5): - Nice place to stay on the southern part of Santa teresa walking distance from everything however you need to manage your expectations.
We had private room with shower and toilet.
In the room and outside everything was clean quite and well decorated.
Free parking is available.
Lovely pool, and good food at the food track.
You can take Yoga classed, surfing use co work space etc for extra payment.
And the Selina north facility is also available for the guests.
However in our room we had 2 huge transparent windows you can’t cover in the shower facing the neighbours we felt no privacy in additional we asked to change towels once a day and we have been told every day that towels are not available.
For Expedia VIP members, it was complicated with the hotel, we had to explain 3 times we booked through Expedia and we have some benefits on our reservation, it is written we have free drinks (we were not able to get them at first) some front members wasn’t aware what is Expedia others tried to help and took care of it in the end.
Regarding room upgrade it was not offered at all, we were not expected once we were told they don’t know what is Expedia VIP .
I will recommend staying Selina but bring extra towels.
- Andrea (10/5): Great community & environment with attentive staff - I had an excellent stay here! I came for a few days but I loved my stay so much I ended up extending for two weeks. The staff is incredibly helpful, Hariel and Diego took care of every question and need I had. They help create a good environment of digital nomads with an incredible coworking space and a relaxed and inclusive community. This is especially great when traveling as a solo female traveler. The staff went above and beyond to ensure I had a good stay. Location is excellent, off of the main road with access to a supermarket, many restaurants, and the beach within footsteps. Best sunsets in Costa Rica!
- Andrea (10/5): I keep coming back to this hotel. - Another great stay at Selina Santa Teresa South! After coming for two weeks I booked a second stay to return for another two weeks here. Between the great coworking community and attentive staff, it's a perfect option for digital nomads or just visitors looking for a week or weekend break to surf and chill. Hariel, Diego and Minerva were really helpful with extending my booking and are always doing extra actions to accomodate guests (for example, when I wanted to buy fresh tuna from the fisherman in Malpais, Hariel arranged everything and purchased it on my behalf). Catalina also helped me with the proper paperwork I needed from the coworking space to arrange business expenses.
Thank you to the Selina staff for another great stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved our stay, got amazing check in and service from Hariel at the front desk. Really the most helpful, especially after having a bad experience at a previous hotel.
Our room was so clean and comfortable, we had everything we needed here.
The property could offer more free coffee and water and more experiences.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Crazy how expensive it is for what you get - I paid 180$ for a private room and felt like an insane price for what I got. It didn’t feel that private since window faced people. The tiny shower had a dirty shower curtain. There was no hairdryer (asked for one, but no luck). Bed was very hard, as were pillows. Sheets dirty. Woke up with sunrise since curtains didn’t block light and needed to keep bathroom door open to feel a/c so got bright light from that side too. Also super loud/ no sound proofing so can hear everyone. And no real customer service. I get that it’s a hostel not a hotel, but for 180$ would expect a bit (or a lot) more
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Paid $200 USD for a private hostel room, shared bathroom. Half the front desk staff was great, one girl had incredible attitude, really bad. I wouldn't stay at south selina ever again, but I do like Selina hotels in general.
- Emma (8/5): Beautiful, clean rooms, professional and friendly - Beautiful, clean rooms, professional and friendly service. This Selina is head and shoulders above any other options on the Santa Teresa strip in terms of comfort, cleanliness and quality of service. But you do pay the price for it. Worth it, in my opinion. We chose a private double room for about $60 per night between two, so not all that much more than dorm options. There was a lot of noise from birds on top of the roof at dawn (hence 4 stars) but they were in the process of fixing this at the time we stayed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great value! Friendly staff and close to the beach and local restaurants. The room is also a good size. It would benefit from having a small communal kitchen area.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - we got to the hotel and they had no more rooms for us even tough we had a reservation , they sent us to the other sekina north and it felt like a frat house , and was too smelly to stay there
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean and comfortable! If you stay at South instead of North you have about a mile walk to the breakfast and most of the amenities!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay - it was wonderful. Quiet, clean and very close to the beach.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The design of the place is amazing, the stuff was super nice and helpful and the place is close to the beach and a lot of good restaurants
