Guest Reviews
- Joanna (7/5): - Prywatny onsen, widok na górę Fuji z pokoju. Piękny klasyczny, japoński wystrój pokoju. Ciekawe doświadczenie spanie na podłodze. Właściciele odwozili na stację po wymeldowaniu. Lokalizacja w porządku. Brak dużych ręczników, można byłoby poprawić czystość w toaletach.
- Kelly (1/5): As soon as I stepped into the house, I saw the cemetery in front of the house. The constant cawing of crows made me real - I dont like this As soon as I stepped into the house, I saw the cemetery in front of the house. The constant cawing of crows made me really not want to stay here, but the homeowner stood in front of the door and asked me to pay and then be able to leave. I had no other choice but to stay, but the next terrible thing - all the rooms shared a bathroom on the 1st floor and all used the same toilets on the 2nd floor. To go to the toilets , you had to line up and to go to the bathroom, you had to take a communal shower. It was too dirty and old. Carefully, I squatted down and had to splash water continuously with my right hand. I couldn't bathe with other people in the same bathroom, so I waited until 11:00 p.m. when no one else was around to start taking a shower. I had to ask my husband to stand outside and watch because I didn't lock the door because it was a communal bathroom. I was just afraid that while I was bathing, someone would come in. The third worst thing was that there were too many mosquitoes in the room. My husband and I were bitten a lot by mosquitoes and other insects. The sheets were dirty and itchy. crows cawing all night long, I didn't sleep at all. At 4:00 am, the entire room was as bright as day because there were no curtains. It was truly a terrible night for me

- Scarlet (9/5): Nice place - Nice place, very cozy and good vibes, the owner is very great women. Abit messy at the ground floor but it is not a big problem

- Dylan (10/5): Amazing view of Fuji and authentic onsen facilities! - A fantastic stay just out of the centre. It was an easy 15 minute walk. The view of Fuji was incredible from our room. Onsen facilities were very nice. The property was great, the only negative was there were a few hairs left on the bedding in the room.
- syairah (8/5): - Location and view Nil
- Zoe (9/5): -
- Alexander (10/5): Lätt, mysigt, bra läge - Härliga ägare
- Michaela (8/5): The perfect place to stay for a few days - The location was great—right next to the bus stop and a store—and you could take a short, pleasant walk to the lake.
The room was a traditional style and looked absolutely beautiful.
We had a room with a view of Mount Fuji, and I have to say it was a truly wonderful experience that more than made up for any shortcomings of the accommodation.
Also the onsen was very nice, not too hot and very comfortable.
An elderly Japanese couple takes care of the accommodation, and they were very kind—they showed us around, explained everything, and even offered to drive us to the train station for free when we were leaving. Despite the air conditioning, the room was quite cold.
And as many people have mentioned, the accommodation wasn’t exactly clean—there was quite a bit of dust on the furniture and hair in the onsen—but it was manageable.
Also, the walls weren’t very soundproof, so you could hear people in the hallway quite clearly.
- Ing Zhen (10/5): - Friendly host, provided transportation to kawaguchiko station. Although it’s old and facilities arent new compare to other hotels, the environment is clean.
- PANCERA (10/5): - View on Fuji-san, warm welcome, warm hosts, equipment, onsen !!!, futons, room, price : everything was perfect
- Ellen (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay at this traditional ryokan. It felt very homely and comfortable, with a great location near Mount Fuji in Fujikawaguchiko.
The staff were very accommodating. Even though they didn’t speak much English, they made a real effort to help, showing me where the onsen was, assisting with my baggage, and making sure I knew where everything was, including the toilet and other facilities.
The experience was exactly what you would imagine when you think of a ryokan, peaceful, authentic, and very relaxing. The onsen was especially perfect after a long day of exploring.
Overall, it was a memorable and relaxing stay that I would definitely recommend.
- Tomiris (10/5): - Недорого и комфортно
- Zongjing (10/5): -
- Jorge (10/5): -
- René (7/5): Leuke ervaring voor niet veel geld - De Onsen is bijzonder Geen normale douches
Helaas is er veel achterstallig onderhoud
- Mike Sn (7/5): - Beatiful views of mt fuji when weather good
Comfort of tatami room but you need understand what I mean
Lots supermarkets and good food nearby
Perfect venue to prepare climb Mt fuji Road from street to entrance is rough - better drive
- Yu (7/5): -
- Dinopoulos or Ntinopoulos (9/5): -
- Richard (10/5): -
- HUNG LY (7/5): - Close to stores but a bit too far from train station. Owner is nice and trying to be helpful. Facilities are a big old. Owner requires to pay in cash only.
- YUCHEN (7/5): -
- Bethany (7/5): - It felt like staying at your grandma’s house! It was a family run business with cute family photos on the walls. Simple facilities and onsen, was great value for money for this area. We also got a view of Fuji from our room and I don’t think I paid for that so it was nice of them to let us have the room anyway! It did need a good clean all round, not sure our duvet covers had been washed since the previous guest.
- Ala (7/5): -
- Vivek (8/5): - Excellent location for Mt Fuji viewing
- _AD (7/5): -
- Yana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wei (1/5): Bad - This is a bad place I ever have. The old Japenes couple are owner and do nothing for clean, I felf dirty aroud and uncomfortable from everywhere . The rent is cheaper which match the value. nothing
- Marc (10/5): Lovely - Stunning , great view of Mt Fuji and we were both able to go into the onsen.
- Aizil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Goodburn (2/5): Very poor - Nice views The matter were very uncomfortable would recomend stacking a few on top of each other to actually be able to sleep. The onsen was pretty dirty and general facilities dirty. No day use once checked out was also not great. Other than those issues ok
- Anonymous (7/5): Traditional Japanese sensation with friendly owner - - Spectacular view of Mt.Fuji through the room's window.
- Nice service from the owner even though they can't speak English.
- Easily to walk to the supermarket and FamilyMart.
- Can walk around the area, closed to the Kawaguchiko lake and bridge. - There is uneven footpath from the bus station to the ryokan. Not recommend to walk. Should take a public bus.
- Shared bathroom with hot spring pool. Toilet is quite smell.
- Not sure mattress and blanket is clean?
- There is A/C but not sure it is a heater as well and not sure how to turn the heater on. It's quite cold during the night.
- Karolis (7/5): Good cheap stay with possibility for wonderful views of Mt Fuji - View of Mt Fuji in the morning was spectacular The room was clean but it seemed that some of the sheets were not so much. It was a bit loud too, since the walls are thin, but overall the price was super low so it makes sense not everything will be perfect
- Piet (8/5): Very good - Great location with a beautiful view to Mt Fuji from the room.
The onsen was very nice to end the day. Not as clean as other places we have stayed at in Japan.
- Sharizan (10/5): The most beautiful hostel experience in Fuji - My room got mount fuji view at 2nd floor. Just open the window. 1st floor i can see toilet and public bath, 1 for man, and 1 for woman. The owner is an old granny and helped by 1 staff, a man around 40 years old. Although they cant speak and understand english, they will google translate to communicate with you. The place just 17 minute if you walk from kawaguchiko station. The environment in the house is so nice, it is like an old house you watch in japan old movie. Room is clean. Futon is the best. Full star for this hostel.
- Erin (10/5): Unforgettable - treasure the memories of Mount Fuji forever! - We loved the onsen, the view and the staff were so lovely!!! Nothing amazing
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phua (8/5): Very good -
- Thomas (7/5): Good -
- Megan (8/5): Great location! - The good: great location. We had a wonderful view of Mt Fuji right from our room. Close to the sight-seeing bus line. Close to restaurants and department store. Onsen was fun. Neat to have a room with tatami mats and paper window panels.
The bad: older building and in places really showing it's age. Staff only speaks Japanese (but Google translate helps with that). I also learned that futon mattresses aren't comfortable for me (my son loved them).
- Androniki (6/5): Traditional house with sweet owners, but a little dirty - The owners or Maruyaso were absolutely lovely! Even though they didn’t speak English, they did their absolute best to show you around with google translate. It was also cool to stay in a more traditional ryokan room, even though I did not have the Fuji views a lot of reviews mention. The old house itself also had a lot of charm.
Unfortunately I also found the room to be quite dirty. There were quite a few hairs on the floor, as well as in the bedding that I doubted had been washed. I had checked out the showers but they weren’t really private showers and also didn’t look too clean, the showers are next to an onsen that’s open 24 hours and it’s just an open space with a row of showerheads.
- Mesunee (8/5): Fill like at home. - When we wake up can see Fuji.
- Gautier (9/5): Great onsen and Fuji view - An old fashion traditional house. Great onsen and amazing view on the Fuji San ! And very welcoming host
- Tom (9/5): Excellent - I had a pleasant night ! The hot spring is really a plus.
Hosts don't speak english but are very welcoming.
- Yuliya (9/5): Superb - Amazing Fuji view from the room and hot onsen all day! Cozy and welcoming place at a great price! We absolutely loved it thank you!
- Brighid (10/5): Amazing Mt Fuji view and onsen - We ended up booking another night, we loved the place so much! The hosts are so lovely and there is helpful information posted. It is very traditional with a great onsen and absolutely amazing view of Mt Fuji 🏔️🩵❄️ Beds could be thicker but still comfortable, and worth it for the traditional futon vibes.
- Mohd (9/5): Superb -
- Muhammad (9/5): Superb -
- Lachlan (10/5): Exceptional - Great location with views of Fuji from the room. The lady showing us around was lovely and helpful. Shuttle bus to the station as well :)
(8/5): Very good -
- Oliver (10/5): Exceptional -
- Debopam (7/5): great location - location, Hot bath and morning Mt.fuji view from window. little dirty but as old property it's ok
- Narges (9/5): Superb -
- Chelsea (6/5): Pleasant -
- Judith (9/5): Great view and really comfortable onsen - Great view of Mount Fuji from the room's window The walls were kinda slim, and the people next room to me were kinda loud, you could listen everything. But I think it was just becuause I was unlucky with my neighbours
- Lucia (5/5): not worth it - the view and the location I did not mind the fact that it's an old house but it was not clean at all, you have to share the toilette with a lot of people
- Jacob (7/5): Can’t complain too much the stay was cheap. Wish room and bathroom were better kept. - Very nice location, close to supermarket and a convenience store; nice scenery and good view from the room. The floor had stains on it, and the bathroom was dirty with bugs.
- Doreen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shahane (10/5): - Very simple and comfortable, clean. And has hot tub!
- Anna (8/5): Very good -
- Nisa (6/5): Not bad not perfect - Staff is very kind and place is only 20 min walk from the station. Place is surrounded with family restaurants and very near to the route bus Place is old and not cleaned enough
- Adam (7/5): Good -
- Mitton (10/5): Exceptional - This was amazing if you want to experiment a Japanese life style with kimono and spring bath this is the place with a beautiful view on mont Fuji
- Rand (7/5): Traditional ryokan - If you want a ‘trip back in time’, then, that is your place. It is a traditional house, with traditional (small) rooms with tatamis. The owners barely speak english but they do their best to make your stay confortable. 1 toilet for a lot of rooms.
- Aneta (7/5): Great location and a good way to experience Ryokan - The vibe of the Ryokan and the fantastic views of the Mt Fuji as we woke up and had coffee with a view. The location was also great, walking distance to the lake, convenience stores, and a cafe which had a robot as a waiter, definitely recommend going there for dinner!
- Siraphach (4/5): Disappointing -
- Etienne (5/5): Passable -
- Yuhong (6/5): If there’s English signs will be better - Owner are nice but they don’t speak English at all, it’s difficult for foreigners. The bedding is not clean, with hairs on the comforter cover.
- Agata (8/5): . - Outstanding atmosphere. it is a family run guesthouse, more traditional . The hosts are extremely helpfull, thank you very much. We enjoyed a lot.
- Vernon (8/5): Very good -
- Nishizawa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Titiruck (7/5): Good - The house is very traditional. You get the sense that you are really in Japan. The room itself also has a view of Mt. Fuji. There are super market, marts, and good places to eat closed by. As this is traditional room, sleeping on the floor is not the most conformtable experience.
- Alex (9/5): Perfect place to stay and especially popular for those planning to climb Mt. Fuji - Great location. Close to Lake Kawaguchi (perfect for a walk or run around) and very clean. -
- Pedro (8/5): Very good - Beatiful ryokan, the 24h available bath is really nice, the staff was kind It isnt too good to sleep in futon, so you should not stay long
- Alex (8/5): Very good -
- Amanta (10/5): Will be back again🥰 - The ambience, the view and the grandma 🥰🥰 The hygiene of the shared toilet
- Nir (3/5): Not clean and not comfortable - We did have a mt. Fuji view from our room. The host wanted cash in advance the second we got there, the place isn't clean, they don't speak English and don't reply to text on booking. There's one toilet for each gender which are connected from above and you can hear everything.
About the room, we couldn't lock the big window so never felt safe about our belongings. And the window couldn't get sealed so there was plenty of bugs everywhere.
- Josefina (8/5): Very good -
- Anna (7/5): Good -
- Lu (7/5): Good -
