Everything you could need provided, including bathrobes and luxury toiletries, fresh milk etc. Fabulous choice of breakfast dishes and all cooked fresh to order by Paul. I can highly recommend his blueberry pancakes with fresh fruit and maple syrup. Free parking on site. - paul (10/5): Perfect, relaxing and felt spoilt. - All aspects of The Mill far outweighed our expectations, and totally warrants the amount of awards Paul & Clare have won. The luxury rooms are truly luxury, and full of beautiful little touches in the bathroom bathroom and tea/ coffee facilities, as just a few examples. The beds were super comfy and having access to our own little garden which we could share with our friends, was a perfect bonus for an early morning cuppa or a pre-dinner aperitif.
The location for long melford village and Melford Hall (National Trust and virtually in their grounds) was absolutely perfect, and we parked our car and walked for the entire weekend.
Lovely restaurants, walks, pubs, tearooms and boutique shops within a lovely walk, and even the Nethergate brewery at the other end of the village.
We would recommend The Mill to anyone, and in particular if you are looking for a perfect private location for 2 x couples.
Final mentions go to Paul and Clare as perfect hosts...and this review must finish on Paul's wonderful breakfasts... we tried them all and encourage anyone else to enjoy the same. :) nothing could be better

Good amenities, friendly welcome and great breakfast. We would definitely return! Our room came with its own garden, which is nice bonus. We didn’t use it much because the road and traffic noise significantly increased on our second day - not sure why, maybe there was a diversion?
- Paticia (10/5): - Excellent breakfast options and cooked fresh to order with local ingredients. The room was awesome and riomy!! Loved the slipper bath and private garden (Garden Room).

- Serena (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful stunning place, spotlessly clean, Amazing breakfast
- Kevin (9/5): Terrific - will return - Lovely rooms, nice and helpful owners and very good breakfast. Lots of little touches in the room too. Room a little warm. May need a fan in the summer as a bit of road noise if you open the windows. Apart from that, all very good.
- Geraldine (1/5): Shambles and rude - Due to travelling for work, and an emergency at work, I was delayed with travel and missed the check in of 7pm, I was then phoned and as I told the man what situation we found ourselves, he said "With all due respect, what do you expect me to do?" however, said with no respect at all. He was rude, surely and very unhelpful. Worried about his dinner reservation. I then had to stay at a nearish premier inn, he said surely I couldn't expect any hotel to check me in between 10/11pm? in his opinion no hotel would allow it. In my follow up message i suggested maybe they could install a lock boxfor keys for guests that sometimes arrive later...he again said, with respect no hotels use lock boxes in Long Melford, again as if this was proposterous and i was stupid to suggest. Even though the accomadation looked wonderful, even if i had seen it, I could never recommend such a disrespectful , host, despite his constant reminder of his supposed respect.
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): First rate B&B, would recommend - Couldn't fault it.

Wonderful garden and space. Everything has been well thought about here. We would love to return one day. Situated quite close to road so some road noise at night. This can’t be helped and the property is so lovely that it outweighs this! My husband slept soundly :) Just maybe take some ear plugs if you are sensitive to road noise.

I was very impressed with the breakfast menu, not just cereals and the choice of an 'English' breakfast but also pancakes and mackerel was on offer.
The mackerel was lovely.
Very impressed, the rooms were lovely just like our hosts.
I will be booking again in the warmer months where we can use an added extra garden area.
Excellent location with loads of choice for evening meals all a very short walk away.
Overall excellent.
Looking forward to our next stay.
- Nick (10/5): Great location, warm room & amazing breakfast - Lovely location, room and service.
Breakfast choices were very good and beautifully cooked…….. scrambled eggs just how I like them!
The most important positive was how warm the room was considering it was almost freezing outside.
It was a pity the advertised log burner didn’t have any logs for us to use as this would have been a lovely touch as well.
