Emilie (9/5): - Les prestations sont dignent d’un hôtel de grand standing Le complexe est magnifique et très orienté nature et sérénité La restauration était excellente Les services supplémentaires sont assez onéreux Les excursions peuvent être plus simple et donc moins chères (ex atelier bijoux en argent, visite des environs avec chauffeur …) Nous avions une tente avec piscine privative et l’aménagement était très qualitatif mais le côté tente était très bruyant et sujet aux aléas de la nature, bruits de lézard, grenouilles et autres animaux et insectes de la jungle. La tente n’était pas totalement hermétique et nous a laisser quelques inquiétudes sur la présence de d’animaux ou insectes dans le logements Nous n’avons pas, de fait, passé les meilleures nuits de notre séjour malgré la qualité de la literie.

I did the morning market visit and cooking class with Juliawan and Merta who were wonderful. The beautiful Dewi from the private lounge, Ekawati and Ariasih and Ayu at the incredible spa. Thank you all for making this such a memorable stay!

The atmosphere and location are breathtaking, while the room was beautiful and relaxing, and the staff were extremely hospitable and kind. We decided that we will be coming back to Bali to specifically stay in Sideman again and to stay at this resort. They have gone above and beyond our expectations.

Seaside661241 (10/5): The best money you’ll spend - We stayed 5 nights at Wapa at the end of 3 weeks traveling Indonesia and it was the best money we ever spent! Perfectly manicured gardens and grounds, friendly and attentive staff and endless inclusions. The glamping tents are more like luxurious villas. The sound of the rain on the fabric was incredible and the fact you could open the windows without the bugs coming in is genius. And out favourite part - a huge AC unit to keep it cool. The restaurant makes delicious food and drinks with a beautiful view and having 4 different pools to choose from is so spoilt!! A very special thanks to JULI ANTARA, SANTA, BUDI, ADI for making our stay very special. These gentlemen deserve a lot of credit. We will be back again very soon.

DaveyC_12 (10/5): Paradise in the Heart of Sidemen - We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Wapa di Ume Sidemen and honestly can’t recommend it highly enough. We stayed in one of the beautiful poolside villas overlooking the river, rice fields, and stunning mountain views — the scenery was truly breathtaking and incredibly peaceful. The food was delicious, the drinks were excellent, and every member of staff made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely exceptional. We also arranged a private day tour to explore the local sightseeing areas, which was one of the highlights of our trip. A special thank you to our driver, Mahend,who looked after us so well and made the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free. If you’re looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in Bali surrounded by beautiful nature and outstanding hospitality, this place is perfect.

6ixtraveller6 (10/5): A Beautiful and Serene Stay - I stayed at Wapa di Ume Sidemen for one night and honestly wished I had longer there. What stood out most to me was how peaceful and serene everything felt. The natural beauty surrounding the property is incredible, and the entire resort has such a calming energy to it. My room had a beautiful balcony view overlooking the greenery and mountains, and one of my favorite moments was simply sitting by the pool taking in the scenery around me. Sidemen felt much quieter and calmer compared to other parts of Bali I visited, which made the experience feel even more special. The staff were also incredibly kind and welcoming. Every staff member I passed, whether they were helping guests or simply sweeping the grounds, would stop to smile and say hello. There was one staff member I interacted with in the mornings who was especially warm and attentive, and they also had a trainee there who had such a sweet and genuine energy about her. If you are looking for a peaceful escape surrounded by nature, I would definitely recommend staying here.

kholoudk507 (10/5): 46 countries later—this might just be the best stay of my life - I can’t speak more highly of this gorgeous,lush, whimsical resort. Where do I even start? The luxury tent was fabulous- it was elegant, comfortable and aesthetically beautiful- you stayed in a tent that had hard wood floors, soft brown leather, wooden panels, windows that over look the outside green and a patio with a private pool. Everything is personalised for you, from the letters you find on your desk or on the bed, to the turn down service to the messages you recieve on your phone- you are treated like royalty. I don’t think he word no exists is in their dictionary- they try to accommodate your every need, my room with my private pool was overlooking a spot that wasn’t as private as I liked- when I asked they not only changed my room, they upgraded me and gave me a toom with an even bigger pool and created a partition to ensure it was to my liking. They change your towels twice a day, fill up your fruit platter in your room, give you a choice to have breakfast or lunch, and since it’s à la carte, they let me choose multiple dishes to try out very single day at no extra charge. If you have a chance to experience the river side BBQ- it’s imperative- the experience isn’t complete without it-It’s truly a night to remember, the entertainment, the food made by a chef who worked for the royal family, the Balinese dancing, the live band and a short movie talking about the history of Bali. The location of the resort overlooking the valley is mind blowing - one doesn’t need to go anywhere, just sit and absorb the beauty. The staff was the highlight- they’ve handpicked the kindest, warmest and most supportive people to work there and make your experience an absolute joy. A special thanks to Ari, Julia, Ekawati, Gede, Putu, Sonia and everyone else who made this trip unforgettable

The grounds and surroundings are absolutely stunning, creating a peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to completely switch off and relax. Every detail feels thoughtfully designed, balancing elegance with the beauty of the natural environment. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the people. The staff are without doubt some of the nicest and most genuine hotel staff I have ever encountered — always greeting you warmly, remembering you, and interacting in such a friendly and caring manner throughout the stay. Their hospitality is exceptional and makes you feel welcomed from start to finish. The food was also incredible, with every meal being high quality and beautifully presented. Breakfast in particular was outstanding and became a daily highlight. Simply amazing in every way — a truly memorable experience that I cannot wait to return to.

We took a cooking class with Chef Marta and Jana (who also took us to the local market early in the morning) and it was a highlight of our trip, so fun, we learned a lot through the conversations with them and made the most delicious food. The hotel grounds are gorgeous and well maintained, excellent breakfast, coffee and the restaurant. Thank you so much for making us feel welcomed!

Judith (10/5): Un hôtel d’exception au cœur des rizières de Sidemen, avec un service digne d’un palace, des équipements variés et une t - Un séjour absolument exceptionnel à Sidemen. L’hôtel est tout simplement magnifique, niché en plein cœur des rizières, avec une vue à couper le souffle et une atmosphère paisible. La qualité de service est digne d’un palace : le personnel est incroyablement attentionné, toujours souriant et aux petits soins du matin au soir. Les équipements sont nombreux et parfaitement entretenus : salle de sport, spa, trois piscines, cours de cuisine, barbecue… sans oublier les vélos mis gratuitement à disposition pour explorer les environs et rejoindre le village de Sidemens. Côté restauration, tout est excellent : les petits déjeuners sont délicieux et variés, et le restaurant de l’hôtel propose des plats de grande qualité. Nous avons séjourné dans une tente de luxe avec piscine privée : un vrai coup de cœur. La chambre était magnifique, très confortable et parfaitement intégrée dans la nature, offrant à la fois intimité et dépaysement. Une adresse que je recommande les yeux fermés pour une expérience inoubliable à Bali.
Alessia (1/5): - We’ve stayed in over 30 different hotels across Bali over the years, covering all kinds of price points, and this is easily the worst experience we’ve had. The so-called “luxury tent” is anything but luxurious. Because there are no proper windows, it is incredibly loud and impossible to cool down even with the aircon blasting on maximum. During a thunderstorm, we genuinely feared for our safety. It felt like there was no real protection from the elements and the whole structure seemed vulnerable, which made the experience very unsettling. The worst part, however, was the food. Both the restaurant and the breakfast were shockingly poor. The quality was far worse than basic street food, yet priced at around ten times more. On top of that, we made our allergies very clear multiple times before check-in, again at check-in, and again at the restaurant. Despite this, the staff failed to accommodate or take it seriously, which is unacceptable. The WiFi across the entire resort was also terrible. It was slow most of the time and occasionally completely unavailable, which made it very frustrating to stay connected. To make matters worse, when we checked out, we were charged 700,000 IDR for stained sheets. We were told this was discounted from the usual price of 3 million IDR, which is frankly absurd. Yes, we acknowledge that we stained the sheets, but they were already extremely worn, with visible stains and even large holes before we used them. Overall, this place is not worth the money or the risk. We would strongly recommend avoiding it.

Amazing rooms and surroundings, totally relaxing and reenergizing environment but most of all the kindest and most friendly staff ever experienced. A speciall thank you to Wira, Wahyu and crew who carried my mother up and down stairs so she could participate in the BBQ evening by the river !! You made her and ours stay unforgettable !! nojci (10/5): A Truly Special Escape in Sidemen - Our time at Wapa di Ume Sidemen felt like a little dream we didn’t want to wake up from. The atmosphere is calm, intimate, and beautifully in harmony with nature – exactly what I was hoping for. What made it unforgettable, though, was the people. The team is incredibly warm and thoughtful, always ready to help in the most genuine way. I have to mention Bobo in particular – his kindness and attention to detail really made a difference, and he made us feel so well taken care of throughout our stay. We stayed in one of the tented villas with a private pool, and it was simply stunning. It felt very private and exclusive, yet still cozy and connected to the surroundings. Waking up there each day was a highlight in itself. The dining experience was equally impressive. Every meal was delicious and beautifully presented, and the service was consistently attentive without ever feeling intrusive. It made each evening something to look forward to. The hotel also arranged a few programs and excursions for us, and everything was handled so smoothly. No stress, no complications – just perfectly organized experiences that allowed us to fully relax and enjoy. All in all, it exceeded what I had imagined. The level of care, the setting, and the overall experience offered incredible value. I would absolutely come back again.

A special thank you to Bobo, who truly stood out – incredibly attentive, kind, and always one step ahead. The level of care and personal attention from the staff overall was exceptional. Everyone went above and beyond, always with a smile, making everything effortless for us. The tented villa with a private pool was something else – very exclusive, peaceful, and perfectly designed for relaxation while still feeling connected to the surrounding nature. It felt like a hidden retreat. The restaurants deserve a strong recommendation as well. Great food, beautiful presentation, and again, outstanding service from the team. Every meal felt like a highlight. We also booked excursions through the hotel, and this made a huge difference. Everything was seamlessly organized, completely hassle-free, and tailored to us – we could just enjoy the experience without worrying about anything. Overall, this stay exceeded our expectations in every way. Exceptional staff, beautiful setting, and excellent value for money. We would return without hesitation.

Rabea (10/5): Such a special place! - Wapa di Ume is one of my all time favorite places to stay! The people, the location, the view and the room were amazing. We stayed in one of the tents with a pool and loved the fresh air in the room and the quietness of the location so much. We also joined their BBQ evening which I was initially skeptical about, but it turned out to be such a fun night. Everyone in the hotel was doing their best to make sure we had a fantastic time, remembering our names but also never being pushy. We also loved the breakfast and the afternoon tea, as well as the morning excursion and the Sidemen tour. Thank you so much to the entire Wapa Team!! No comments here

The staff were amazing, so attentive and friendly. Me and my partner participated in the cooking class and had a romantic dinner - both activities were incredibly special and great value. It is not the cheapest place in Bali, but for the quality of food, service and area; this Resort is unmatched. Would highly recommend.

A special mention goes to Utari from the Front Office, who ensured our arrival and stay were seamless and comfortable. Dining was equally memorable—Sastra and Yoga took wonderful care of us during both breakfast and dinner, delivering attentive and personable service that truly elevated our experience. We would also like to commend the team at the afternoon tea lounge. Although we regret not recalling each name, their gracious service and attention to detail did not go unnoticed—they exemplify top-tier hospitality. Our departure was handled efficiently and warmly by Sonia, leaving us with a lasting positive impression. Overall, the level of service throughout the resort was outstanding. Every team member we encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely committed to making our stay memorable. We left feeling well looked after and truly appreciative of the experience. Dennis (10/5): Heel bijzonder - en absoluut een plek om nog eens terug te keren - De rust en geweldige faciliteiten van het hotel, gelegen in de prachtige omgeving van Sidemen. Het meest unieke was zonder enige twijfel de rivier die achter onze kamer stroomde en waarop we uitkijk hadden vanuit ons balkon en het grote tweepersoons-bad. De service en de bediening was fantastisch, maar misschien soms net iets "te veel". Bij elke bestelling opnieuw de vraag krijgen "do you have any allergies" voelt overbodig, zeker bij een kleinschalige accommodatie waar veel ruimte is voor persoonlijke aandacht.

Sharon (10/5): Absolutely LOVED this piece of heaven - We booked a room with a private pool and it was amazing - clean, spacious, comfy, huge bath, outdoor shower, big pool and stunning view of the rice terrace. Breakfast was excellent, including a live Balinese music (quiet and relaxing to start the day with) and I loved the afternoon tea time. The free tour to nearby rice terraces and sarong factory is a huge bonus, and so was a free yoga class in the beautiful area overlooking the view. Staff were super kind and greeted us with a short purification ceremony. I cannot recommend this resort enough, it's just PERFECT.

Un petit trekking avec un guide (anglophone) dans les rizières et jardins environnants. Une sympathique soirée barbecue dans le jardin avec un groupe de musiciens et un spectacle de danse locale. Personnel sympathique et souriant… avec un employé (Budy) qui parle très bien français. Les piscines privées sont fraîches. La salle de sport est minimaliste avec un équipement en panne. Coussins du canapé extérieur et transats tachés. Tarifs élevés pour les massages. Attention ! Les prix annoncés pour la soirée spéciale « barbecue » ne comprenaient pas 21% de taxes et services facturés lors du Check out alors qu’aucune information au préalable n’avait été donnée.

Every member of the staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring, from gardeners to waiters and housekeeping. It created a very warm and personal atmosphere throughout my stay. The resort is beautifully quiet and surrounded by nature, with stunning views that make it the perfect place to relax. I stayed in a luxury tent with a private pool, which was a unique and very comfortable experience. It was thoughtfully prepared each evening and morning, and despite the natural setting, there were surprisingly few insects. The food was very good, and I was especially impressed by the laundry service, my clothes came back perfectly clean. Overall, an exceptional place to unwind. I would definitely come back.

Nous avons bénéficié d’une réduction hors saison, ce qui a rendu l’expérience encore plus agréable. Il est possible que nous n’aurions pas pu nous offrir ce niveau de prestation en pleine saison. L’hôtel propose de nombreuses activités, dont une randonnée gratuite le matin dans les rizières avec Wira, que nous avons particulièrement appréciée. Enfin, une mention spéciale à notre butler, Budi, qui a été formidable et a su répondre à toutes nos questions avec beaucoup de professionnalisme. Un bruit de musique dans la vallée le soir (sans que cela soit de la responsabilité de l’hôtel)

There is an amazing focus on details which makes your stay truly extraordinary. I also can’t speak highly enough about the staff. The location of Sidemen is very quiet, so ideal if you want an escape from the busier areas. We would have liked the bar to stay open later than 10pm, there isn’t not very much to do in the area, so it would be nice to have somewhere to drink after other places close. However, they do allow you to sit/stay after the bar stops serving, which is a plus.

The food was great, best views we ever had in a hotel anywhere in the world. Love the pool, amazing service. Great things to do like the morning walk with Wira. Loved every bit of it! The walk uphill to get out of the property. Also the wooden bridge is beautiful but a bit slippery/scary during heavy rain.

JoAnn (10/5): Paradise - Incredible facility!! We stayed in one of the luxury "tents". It was spacious, excellent air conditioning, shower, decor,etc. The term tent is a misnomer-- these are large comforable rooms. Ours contained a small private pool. The setting is breath taking; sitting in a valley surrounded by rice fields, colorful gardens, a small river,and Mt. Agung in the distance. Nights were quiet except for the soft distant sound of moving water in the river; perfect for sleeping. Restaurant 5 stars. We did 2 activities which we recommend-- a 2-3 hour guided walk to the town and village across the river. And a Balinese cooking class. The guide for the walk-- Wayan - was great. Also a shout out to the chefs Made and Agung. The chefs have both worked on cruise lins so they speak English well and are fun and funny conversationalists. The meal was delicious and the experience was a high light. Finally, the entire staff was so professional, curteous, and helpful. They were a delight!! Unfortunately, we only booked for 2 nights. An additional 1 or 2 nights would have been well worth it.

Valeria (8/5): - Los espacios comunes eran muy lindos y sus vistas a la selva. La tienda también era hermosa y todo el personal muy amable. Sentimos que no habia tanta privacidad en las tiendas, aunque eran muy lindas, si de noche no bajabas las persianas se veía todo. También se podía ver desde la ducha porque cuando uno se bañaba habia muy linda vista pero habían pasillos y la gente podía pasar por ahí, entonces había que bajar una persiana. Lo mismo estando la piscina privada, la gente podía pasar por el pasillo y la vista casi directa era a la siguiente tienda, con lo cual terminamos optando por ir a la piscina general ya que tenía mejor vista. Otra sugerencia seria si la tienda pudiese tener algún mini armario para guardar algunas cosas, ya que sino tenia que estar todo en la valija. Algunas veces aunque hacian la cama hemos visto que nos dejaron un plato sucio o no se acomodaron algunas cosas como las mismas toallas. Aunque uno entiende que si contrata excursiones de un hotel de este nivel es más elevado, el precio podía llegar a ser 2 o 3 veces mayor.

Dat vond ik echt bijzonder en het is voor het eerst dat ik dat in 50 jaar reizen dat dat mocht. Ook upgrade kamer heb ik zeer op prijs gesteld. Echt het hotel en de staff hebben me positief verbaasd in alle opzichten. Als ik dan toch iets moet noemen, dan het frisse water in de zwembaden 😉

Although sidemen is quiet, the location is perfect with a few other restaurants down the same road if you want to go for a walk to find dinner! Prachtig uitzicht, heerlijk zwembad en geweldig restaurant. Ook de spa was ontzettend fijn. Rondom het resort enkele winkeltjes en leuke restaurantjes. Echt een plek om tot rust te komen en te genieten van het prachtige Bali zonder massatoerisme. Niets
