Would highly recommend and hopefully we will return some time Only negative of our trip to Keswick was the bad weather we had, literally rained all weekend but even Gary and Sue couldn't do anything about the rain!

- Richard (10/5): Comfortable, perfect base for walking Keswick and surrounding areas. - Sue and Gary were very attentive from the start. Their knowledge of the local area and beyond was very helpful. Breakfast was excellent and the room was very clean. 20 minute walk from Keswick can be done safely along the disused railway track which you can access 2 mins away.

- Helga (9/5): Alles perfekt.
- Liana (10/5): 10/10 stay in Keswick - Gary and Sue were great hosts. Lovely people, who shared a lot of information about the area - hikes, places to eat etc.
Delicious breakfasts, comfortable bed, clean room, great location.
We loved that we could bring our dog with us, and he enjoyed a biscuit from Gary each day.
Would not hesitate to recommend to a friend! Honestly nothing
- Mark (9/5): It was a lovely location and very relaxing stay, Gary and Sue were lovely host and made our stay very relaxing. - Very clean and you could see straight away how well maintained the property was. Nothing all good with the property
- Kerren (10/5): Perfect base in Keswick with wonderful hosts, secure parking, and great breakfast. - Laurel Bank Guest House is a delightful B&B with wonderful hosts. Gary and Sue made our stay feel special with helpful route tips and local advice. We were especially grateful for the off street, gated & private parking for our motorbike and space in the garage for our panniers.
The room had welcome treats and coffee/tea, and breakfast was exceptional—especially the porridge from the devilishly handsome chef (Mark is still trying to master it! He's unsure whether wool would be better than acrylic? LOL :D). Breakfast is served on a staggered schedule, which suited us perfectly at 8am.
Gary and Sue provide thoughtful extras like umbrellas we could borrow, maps, brochures, rain cloth for the motorbike and fun breakfast table conversation starters. Laurel Bank is within easy walking distance of Keswick via the converted railway path, with great restaurant (& chippy) recommendations from Gary. Sapphire and Sadie, the two labs, were a joy.
We’d highly recommend this B&B and will book a larger room next time to fit all our motorbike gear. Nothing really—just our choice of the smallest room made things snug with motorbike gear. Larger rooms are available, and we’ll pick one of those next time.

Their knowledge of the surrounding area is priceless, offering ideas for long walks, short walks, scenic drives and activities to fill your days! A perfect stay thanks so much 🤩 would highly recommend a stay. Nothing

- Laura (10/5): Great family Owned and Operated B&B - Beautiful property. Squeaky clean and well maintained. The best part is the home feeling and friendship with the owners. I loved the wonderful location, outside downtown but accessible throw a walking path along a river. Gary
And Sue’s breakfast is fantastic. And their guidance was very helpful. There is nothing I did not like.

- David (10/5): Wonderful stay - Friendly people; good breakfast; nice location and parking. Nothing
- Lynne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barry (7/5): Lovely hosts, good breakfast, great location, very clean but extremely small bedroom and shower. - Lovely hosts. Great breakfast. Good location. Very clean. Bedroom was exceptionally small, we had to empty our case completely so that we could stand it on end as there wasn't even enough room to lay it on the floor, very claustrophobic. The shower was the smallest I have ever used making it very uncomfortable, literally no room to move! If you drop anything in the shower you have to get out of the shower to pick it up then get back in. Parking was provided free but very difficult to manoeuvre our car into the allocated space.
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Made to feel at home by the lovely Sue and Gary, lots of helpful information and an ample breakfast each day.
- Lorraine (9/5): Superb - Lovely, friendly owners who made our stay very comfortable.
A wide range of breakfasts to choose from too
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were extremely helpful and hospitable. Excellent cooked breakfast.
- Courtney (10/5): Clean, comfortable and well located. Sue and Gary were excellent hosts. Highly recommended. - Sue and Gary were welcoming and charming hosts. Gary was quick to share his local knowledge of hikes and other activities, all of which enhanced our visit. (Be sure to ask about the delightful former railway path to the City Centre -- it's a great way to get to town.) The room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was one the best we had on our trip. And the cook is devilishly handsome, so there's that. Nothing to report here!
- Sandra (10/5): Delightful break at Laurel Bank Guesthouse - Both hosts are always so friendly and lots of personal touches were provided during our stay. The rooms and dining room are exceptionally clean and the upkeep of the property is reflected. Well-catered breakfasts with lots of choices available. Made a fuss of our dog as well so 10/10 Not so much didn't like but would have upgraded to a larger room having the dog with us.
- Mohd (8/5): Superb - It was a very pleasant stay at laurelbank, hosted by gary & sue. They are kind, friendly and cheerful. It brightened up our stay at keswick
- Nadiah (9/5): Had an amazing stay, would 100% visit Gary & Sue again! - Gary and Sue are amazing hosts. With their warm personalities and kind words they made us feel right at home! The room was clean & comfy, breakfast was delicious (homemade by the handsome cook Gary) and the dog was showered with love (and treats)! The location is ideal for exploring the Lake District and the lovely town of Keswick. I would definitely recommend Laurel Bank Guest House to everyone! None

- Maria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (9/5): Sue & Gary were very good hosts and on site parking was great - very good breakfast, very good room and great location nothing to dislike
- Frederica (7/5): Lovely B&B, clean with great owners - The owners were really nice and tried to make my stay welcome, gave me advice and helped when I needed assistance. The room was very quiet and the other guests were respecful of the premises. Spotless entrance, breakfast room and very clean. The B&B is about 1 mile from the centre of Keswick so a bit far.
- Megan (9/5): Friendly, comfortable, and easy transportation - Tasty breakfast with plenty of options, friendly hosts, easy transportation and walking.
- Peter (10/5): A wonderful stay with very lovely hosts. Thoroughly recommend! - Gary and Sue were fantastic hosts and they have a super B&B. Brilliant location and delicious breakfast!
My wife and I had a lovely 3 night stay, Sue and Gary were so helpful with their recommendations and very attentive hosts.
- Lynda (10/5): Perfect place to stay - The owners, Gary and Sue, were so helpful and accommodating. We were with Swedish friends and the weather one day was very wet but they let us use the dining room to play games. The breakfast was very good and the fact there is a car park is a definite advantage. The property is about 20mins stroll into Keswick, but you can walk on the old train line which is very pleasant. We shall definitely stay here again. The shower cubicles are on the small side - no problem for me but maybe for someone larger.
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Vika (9/5): Perfect getaway - Excellent value for money, clean, cozy, well looked after property. The owners are the nicest people. Definitely recommend to visit. Nothing.
- Lindsey (10/5): Great hosts & a great spot for a Keswick break - Sue and Gary were warm and friendly. They took their time to share local information and activities with us. The room was very comfortable and had a great view.

The rooms were perfect & beds were very comfortable.
Clean and dog friendly.
It was brilliant that there is parking too.
Not far from Keswick town and is a lovely walk in.
- Ashley (10/5): Exceptional - Great breakfast selection. Full English cooked very well I'm fussy with my pillows. Could be firmer

- Caroline (9/5): Perfectly located and friendly B&B with hosts who go above and beyond! - Gary and Sue couldn't have been more hospitable! We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Gary showed us where to park and explained everything we might need to know in detail
Keys allowed free access
Breakfast was pre-ordered and all preferences were catered for. Plenty of choice and the food was excellently presented! Loved the little timer to ensure the tea was brewed for the correct amount of time!
Our room was exceptionally clean and very comfortable with clean fluffy towels (and robes should we have wished to use them)
The bathroom was immaculate with the inclusion of a toilet brush (so many don't have them!) and a bottle of bleach
Plenty of plug sockets and excellent wi-fi
Gary and Sue offered to fill a flask should we require. Gary also gave good information and advice about our trip to Scafell Pike, including the loan of maps.
He explained how to walk into the town
Gary also kindly allowed us to use his EV charger
We were allowed total privacy but it was reassuring to know Gary and Sue were there should we need anything
They clearly care about their guests. Communication was exceptional and they even asked us to let them know when we had arrived safely down from the mountain!
We would have no hesitation in booking to stay at Laurel Bank again, and would recommend to anyone wishing to stay near to Keswick Nothing really to dislike! Our only observation was that owing to the position of the room there was very little sunlight which made it difficult to dry towels etc. There was a towel rail in the bathroom but we stupidly forgot to ask how to switch it on!
- Philip (9/5): A beautiful short stay in Keswick, a truly gorgeous part of England. - Breakfast was lovely. Only an easy 15 minute walk to centre of town via a lovely walking/cycle track that used to be a railway line. Beautiful view from our room of mountains surrounding Keswick. N/A
- Alison (10/5): You can't ask for anything more. The owners gave 100% of themselves and their home for us. - Breakfast was top notch! With a chef flare for prepping food, the owners served us with a high end personal touch each and every morning of our stay. Gary and Sue both went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable as well as sharing great knowledge of the entire area for our navigation and beyond. It was like having a personalized guide. Parking on the property was convenient and safe. Conversations were very enjoyable with laughs and good humor. Thank you both.
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martyn (10/5): Sue and Gary are the perfect hosts. Cannot do enough to make us happy. We will be returning as often as we can. - Proximity to Keswick with parking facilities Nothing wrong with it.
- Paul (7/5): Comfortable - The breakfasts were very good and just as requested the night before. The guest house location is very good, 15 / 20 minute walk to centre of Keswick down a disused and converted railway line. The room was comfortable but the shower in the bathroom was far too small.
