• Camila (10/5): Excelente apartamento - A estadia foi excelente! O apartamento é muito bem localizado, com fácil acesso aos principais pontos de Porto. Tudo estava extremamente limpo e organizado, o que fez toda a diferença na experiência. O atendimento do anfitrião também foi impecável, sempre muito atencioso, prestativo e disponível para ajudar no que fosse necessário. Com certeza voltaria a me hospedar aqui e recomendo! • Bianca Thais (10/5): Your home in the heart of Foz - It is very well located, in the heart of Foz, where you can explore the charming area with beautiful beaches, lots of local restaurants and historical buildings. We live in Foz, and booked for our family who were visiting, and they simply loved it. The place is clean, well equipped with all you need for a comfortable stay.

Some nice touches like providing water and even some port. It was all good but the road that the property is on is busy and noisy.

• Anne-Marie (8/5): Heerlijk verblijf!! - Een heerlijk en fijn appartement, voorzien van alle gemakken, schoon, heeft een klein binnen tuintje en lekker dicht bij het strand. Met een Uber taxi, stadsbus of het oude trammetje ben je zo in het centrum van porto (de weg er al heen is al prachtig). David (de gastheer), was zeer vriendelijk en heeft ons veel informatie geven over wat we konden doen en zien in het mooie Porto. Porto is echt een geweldige stad en hebben 4 fantastische dagen gehad!! Theo & Anne

Wir haben viele Tipps bekommen.Die Wohnung liegt sehr zentral, nur wenige Minuten vom Atlantik entfernt. Die Wohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet, sogar eine Strandtasche ist gepackt. Eigentlich fällt mir da nichts ein. Schön wäre im Bad noch eine Lampe über dem Spiegel, da das Bad kein Fenster hat.

The beds were very comfortable, the mattresses weren't too soft, and the linens were clean. The bathroom was fully equipped, with clean towels. The kitchen was very well-equipped for preparing and eating meals. The terrace was a plus. The washing machine was also very useful. The area around the apartment was quiet and clean. Above all, we appreciated the kindness and openness of the owner, Mr. Dawid, who was always available to help if needed. We sincerely recommend this apartment to everyone.

Location is great: not far from City centre, not crowded neighbourhood but with excellent restaurants and shops walking distance. And a few steps from the ocean! The place was super clean, very well equipped- with even beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas! Beds were very comfortable and quiet for a good night sleep. The best part of all is the host - David is super kind and gave us the best tips to move around the city. Has maps and biz cards of multiple places to visit around. The communication prior, during and after the trip was excellent. We had the best of the times at this place
• Lance (1/5): Damp apartment as Sandeman's port wine cellar. - The only good thing was the apartment's location in a charming neighborhood close to the beach. We are two couples of friends who spent a week in David's apartment. The lead-up to our stay was quite fine, as David was good and quick to respond to the messages I had sent him. Furthermore, it was very appreciated that we were allowed an early check-in, three hours before the scheduled time. When we arrived at the apartment, we were greeted by David, who presumably wanted to give us a good introduction to Porto. We were therefore asked to sit around the glass table, while he spent 20 minutes guiding us around an unfolded map of sights and restaurants. This was not exactly what we needed, as we had been traveling since 3:30 in the morning. We needed to unpack and settle in. I therefore attempted several times to bring the involuntary tour of Porto's sights to an end. However, David completely lacked situational awareness and insisted on continuing the tour of Porto and going through every drawer in the kitchen, etc. It was certainly well-intended, but please try to notice your guests' attitude and body language! After David had left the apartment, we had the opportunity to explore it on our own, which unfortunately did not meet our expectations in any way. The apartment had a musty smell and was as damp as Sandeman's port wine cellar. All our clothes became damp and clammy and couldn't dry – even the bed was damp. We tried to heat the apartment, but it didn't help. Furthermore, we were very disappointed to discover that the apartment did not have a balcony, as shown in all the pictures in the listing. We were left with an inner courtyard, where the wooden outdoor furniture was so old that it was severely weathered in several places. The window in the living room could not be opened, so the only way to create a draft was by keeping the front door open. In short: a very bad experience, only saved by our schedule, which consisted of full-day trips away from the apartment.
• Howard (10/5): Absolutely fantastic. - Our stay was absolutely amazing. David is a fantastic host. He spent at least 30 minutes telling us about the area, what restaurants were best and how the bus system works. The apartment is in a 150 year old building and is beautiful. The original moulding is still on the ceiling. Amelia’s is just up the street and an incredible place for breakfast. I highly, highly recommended staying at David’s Lighthouse apartment. Staying there you are immersed in the real life of Porto. We will definitely stay there again when we come back next summer. Oh, he does leave a decanter of Port for you to try. Delicious!

Some water and coffee pods were provided. Location was close to the beach. The bus stop was close by. It’s pretty far to the town centre so you need to take a bus. There’s traffic noise sometimes at night. The bed is ok but not great.

The apartment was very small and there was a bit of an ant problem. On the last night we actually had ants in our bed. I didn’t say anything or complain to David because he was just so awesome to us when we arrived. However? Going forward they should deal with the ant situation.
• Graham (9/5): Amazing location and great host! - David was a fantastic host and very helpful including very kindly arranging an earlier check in for us. The location is fantastic. Moments walk from the beach with lots of lovely beach restaurants/bars- it’s quite an upmarket part of Porto. There are a number of beaches with plenty of space. Do note that on a weekend it does get busy, as do the beach restaurants. Lovely little shops near by including a well priced jewellery store and two supermarkets! Porto city centre is 20 mins in a taxi or a short bus journey. We chose to ride electric scooters in and then the vintage tram, which is a must experience in Porto! ( stop is about 15 min walk from the apartment) Apartment is great for a couple. Everything you need and a lovely balcony to enjoy a drink on. Overall this was a great stay. If you’re looking to go to Porto but don’t want to be in the city centre and have a beach/city break stay, this is the perfect place. Although we enjoy a little bit of city noise at night, it was slightly loud with cars outside on a few nights. Iron or steamer would be a helpful addition!

And of course spoke very good English which was a good help to us with ashamedly little Portuguese .Location is top - on the bus route to Matosinhos and Porto City and near to the last tram stop into the old town. We enjoyed the Gentle easy going vibe of Foz Do Douro with plenty of choice for beaches, cultural city excursions, cafes, and restaurants. The Balcony makes the apartment and we enjoyed evening drinks on the balcony. We were very sad to go and could easily stay another week or two! N/A
• Kiffy (9/5): A lovely retreat - Fabulous location in Foz, very close to beach, bus stops, good choice of restaurants, good supermarkets x2 and interesting shops. Apartment was comfortable with lots of attention to detail for holiday makers. We ate in a couple of nights and the kitchen had everything we needed. The balcony was wonderful 😊 Although it’s not on a main road, it is busy and it was noisy throughout the day especially with motor bikes.

Bus stop 10 steps outside the apartment, less than 10 minutes walk to the beach, close to restaurants, there are 2 super markets within 10 minutes walking distance. Inside the property, I had everything I needed. David also made sure we are provided with beach umbrella, beach chairs and towels! Can you get a better host than David? When we checked in, David also spent 20 minutes giving tips on what we can do in Porto :) first impression that lasts! And David helped with the airport transfers as well! Overall we had awesome time as family and David ensured that our first trip to Porto was a memorable one. Thanks David. NA

Near to the sea , and close to the bus stop to go into Porto. It had everything you could need provided . The bed was really comfortable. David was there to greet us and when we left . • Vicky (9/5): Very nice though can be noisy at night - Really nice spot just a minute or two walk from the beach and lovely bars. Room has everything you could need and a decent kitchen. Host was very nice and told us the history of Porto and some great recommendations for places we visited during our trip. During the day it’s very peaceful area but especially our first night it was extremely noisy outside all night, so be mindful it’s not the quietest spot at night.

Earlier check-in was possible, David was superhelpful and superfriendly, gave as all relevant informartion about Porto and it's neighbourhoods, we felt very comfortable and would return again.
• Joanne (10/5): Perfect period place with easy access to historic centre and the beach - Beautiful period property in a great location. The room was spacious and comfortable. Very nicely furnished with everything you would need. Bathroom was modern and clean, kitchen well stocked with appropriate equipment, cutlery and glasses. Bed big and comfortable. It was very close to bars, shops and restaurants but there was no noise from them. The beach was a very short walk away, stretched for miles with fabulous beach bars and restaurants. We stayed in the heart of Porto for some of our trip, wish we had stayed at the Lighthouse longer, we will be back! It is on the main road and there is occasional traffic noise but for us it was not a problem as the location was perfect for us.
• Laszlo (8/5): Quaint apartment - Check in was easy & David was very informative, letting us know about what’s around. The apartment was a short walk to the beach & several restaurants. It was lovely & the kitchen had all that you could need however I was under the impression that there was a washing machine on premises but the laundromat was a few doors down the road. We loved the French doors opening onto a small balcony & having breakfast with partial sea views. Parking was on the street & if you’re lucky & are there on the weekend, it’s free.

Thoughtful items for the beach and very good local information from the host. It was a little on the small side but still very comfortable for the four of us.

The beds were comfortable and it’s a very clean space. It is a little hard to find as the building is older and not labeled and we had a very loud neighbor singing and playing music late one night.

• Zuzana (10/5): Exceptional - Location was great, we had two separated rooms with two bathrooms and terase.. great, wery clean with everything you need and realy realy close to the ocean. And also manager was so soooo nice. If you want to go to porto, you should go to this apartments :)

• Alicia (10/5): Perfectly located and beautiful apartment - Such a beautiful place! So nice to drink wine on the balcony. Loved the neighboorhood too! Nothing. But good to know it is only one room, which was not quite clear to us.

• Paul (9/5): Superb - David our host was very helpful and hospitable. The apartment is well equipped and laid out in a great location just a short walk to the beach and close to all amenities. It's not overly spacious. But absolutely big enough for a family of 3 to 4 people for a week or two.

• Christopher (8/5): - While the property was nice. There was an ant problem. I didn’t notice when we arrived. It looked as the though the manager just cleaned up a stray crumb. Unfortunately that was not the case. For the remainder of the time we were there I had to fight an army of ants. This was startling to my daughter and dampened our last vacation together before she went to live with her mom. While the inside was aesthetically pleasing we just had hard time forgetting about the ant issue. The location was pretty good. It was within a few minute walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The street was very busy and at times noisy. Uber was an easy trip to the center of Porto and usually ran 5-10 euro.

• Petra (8/5): Excellent - Très joli studio. Superbe emplacement, près de la plage. Vu que le studio donne sur la rue, c'est un peu bruyant...mais pas gênant. Studio propre et bien équipé. Lit très confortable. Rien a dire, je recommande cet appartement.
