- Kim (10/5): -
- Mamadou (9/5): -
- Kaitlyn (10/5): Relaxing get away that felt authentic - Wonderful place and people. Good location and beautiful views! Thank you! Nothing
- Andries (9/5): Excellent stay with a great host and a superb breakfast. - The host is very friendly and helpful. Google translate is the enabler and makes communication easy. The place is great and the homemade breakfast is amazing!
- Xiaoqing (7/5): -
- Teodora Maria (10/5): Fantastic! - The staff were very friendly and the traditional breakfast was amazing!
The location was great too, right by the lake with a park nearby to enjoy views of mount Fuji. There is also a view from the roof. Nearby, there is a place where you can rent electric bikes or regular ones for the entire day, which gives an easy way to explore the lakes.
The elderly man who was running the ryokan was so friendly and helpful despite the language barrier. He always made sure everything was ok, and when I mentioned I wanted to go to 5th station on the mountain, he went above and beyond to help me find cheap tickets at kawaguchiko station. He also helped me carry my bags and provided a shuttle transportation to the train station when requested.
I also adored the traditional room with the tatami mats, the futon bed and the yukata for the hot spring, as well as the view of Fuji from my room's window as I woken up.
10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to go to Mount Fuji and have an excellent stay.
- Luke (9/5): -
- Monnot (10/5): -
- Jochen (8/5): - Außergewöhnliches Frühstück. Super Aussicht von der Dachterrasse.
- LETICIA (10/5): -
- Ruben (9/5): Great value for money, good peaceful location, very nice owner. - Great ryokan, wonderful owner who does his best to help despite language barrier (got us a dinner reservation in a really nice spot that would never have had us on our own, arranged a taxi for us not to miss our early morning bus), location very convenient for a stroll along the lake, Fuji-san viewing from the rooftop terrace, inhouse onsen. Not exactly in the center of the action, so be prepared for some walking to trains, buses, restaurants, etc
- Delia (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay here - Lovely location close to the lake with an incredible view of Mt. Fuji from our room. Rooftop also had stunning views. Staff was welcoming and showed great hospitality, and it was convenient being picked up by our host from Kawaguchiko station. Facilities were clean, comfortable, and spacious. Room was quiet at night. Breakfast was especially delightful! The onsen was also very enjoyable!
- Roseragnes (10/5): - El propietari va ser molt simpàtic i agradable. El ryokan era gran i estava net. L'habitació era espaiosa i teníem vistes al mont Fuji.
- Monica (9/5): - Love the traditional breakfast 💕 and friendly staff. 👍
- margalida maria (8/5): -
- Adrian (10/5): -
- Nicola (9/5): - Room with Fuji view!
- Youssef (9/5): -
- Katy Belbs (10/5): Our favourite night in Japan - book it! - Our favourite night in Japan so far - I couldn't recommend it higher! We had a glimpse of the base of Fuji on a rainy fay but to be honest, I would recommend it even if you don't have a view of Fuji (which we all know, is rare). The rooms are very traditional and it really feels like you are staying in someone's home. The breakfast is amazing, too!
- marta.7 (8/5): -
- Ebru (9/5): -
- Andrea (7/5): - Bella esperienza prima volta in un Ryokan
- bastien (10/5): -
- John (9/5): - The staff were friendly and very accommodating. They provided relevant and unique information for seeing Fuji as I'd wanted to, but it was rainy the first day. The breakfast was delicious. The lack of busses in that vicinity, but it's not their fault. The place is on the lake with great views and they provide shuttles to and from (times are limited with both but they're present)
- Maria Augusta (10/5): I loved to stay there! The host is amazing, the view is amazing. The fouton bed was very nice and confortable! Really gr - Location It was all perfect
- Calum (10/5): Very friendly and homely ryokan with amazing views of Mount Fuji. - Great location, amazing view of the lake and Mount Fuji and very quiet despite being a short walk from the station and restaurants. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Lack of plug sockets in room but we didn’t need them too much.
- Gillian Mary (10/5): Best place to stay in Lake Kawaguchiko - Lovely ryokan. Family-run. Very clean. Amazing, unobstructed view of Mount Fuji. There is a breathtaking view of the volcano from the rooftop. Beside Lake Kawaguchiko with lovely views of that too. I had a big but cosy tatami room with a beautiful view of Mount Fuji. The breakfast was amazing and it was different every day. The owners are very kind, helpful and responded quickly to my messages, before I arrived. The ryokan itself was really nice after a day of sightseeing and you can book a private time to use it. The owners offer pick ups and drop offs to the bus and train station. Highly recommended. Nothing. All great.
- Anne-Laure (10/5): Magnifique !
- Julie (8/5): -
- Cynthia (8/5): I would book again - Great l9cation. Has rooftop access for great view of my fuji. Excellent breakfast. Great location next to bridge for fireworks view.
- Callum (10/5): -
- YUNYI (9/5): Great location, friendly staff, comfortable tatami, best view of Mt. Fuji from our own room - Breakfasts exceeded our expectation- each morning we had a set breakfast included 3 different fish, 2 pork dishes, 1 egg dish, plus salad, yogurt, and 3 different type of fruits. The items also changed between the two days we stayed there. It was absolutely amazing!
- Ariane (10/5): -
- Jacob (9/5): Lovely Ryokan in amazing location - The hotel is in a really nice location and the views are amazing. Staff were lovely and the rooms were great and spacious. Place was cleaned regularly and the public bath was lovely The room itself was a bit old and had stains on the curtains
- Christelle (10/5): -
- Alexis (10/5): A perfect stay - The view on the rooftop, the chamber was nice, not too pricey in the end if you don't go alone. Among the few places we stayed it was probably the best one, not to mention the breakfast. Kawaguchiko il a beautiful place too. Absolutely nothing
- Brian (10/5): -
- Mariia (10/5): -
- Guillermo (9/5): -
- Girbal (10/5): Everything, the room had an ideal view of Fujisan which I didn’t expect. Very comfortable futon. The breakfast was abso - Everything, the room had an ideal view of Fujisan which I didn’t expect. Very comfortable futon.
The breakfast was absolutely amazing
The host was so helpful ! He even called a museum for me on New Year’s Day to make sure they were open. Really amazing stay
- Genevieve (7/5): Simple and friendly - Extremely friendly owner. Short drive to centre and sightseeing. Generous and tasty breakfast. Simple hostel type facilities but ok if you embrace the traditional aspects.
- Ting Feng (7/5): -
- Davide (10/5): -
- Tineke (9/5): - View on Fuji, hot bath and breakfast
- ilayda (10/5): -
- Sandy (10/5): -
- Tushar (10/5): -
- SATOMI (7/5): -
- yoshinori (7/5): -
- Matteo Lapo (8/5): Ryokan giapponese - Struttura fantastica e ben curata pienamente in stile ryokan.
- Gabrielle (9/5): - A lovely stay with a fantastic view of the lake from the room. Rooms were a great size and very comfortable. Staff were nice and kindly dropped us back at the station. Onsen was nice to relax in. View of Mount Fuji from the rooftop is fantastic, worth booking just for this! If you do not wish to shower/ bath in front of others there are no other alternatives, just something to consider when booking.
- Maggy (10/5): - The Akaishi Ryokan was an amazing stay and experience. The whole place was very clean, and the owners and staff were amazing. The view on the rooftop is incredible, as well as views of the lakes. The hot spring baths were so relaxing and not busy at all, I had the onsen to myself everytime I went to use it. The breakfast was spectacular. It is an excellent location. I can't wait to stay again.
- Alaya (10/5): Cozy, romantic stay on gorgeous Lake Kawaguchiko. - Beautiful location! Onsen was wonderful after a long day of biking around Kawaguchiko. Room was lovely and cozy. Staff was so kind and helpful despite the language barrier!
- Jay (10/5): -
- Iván (10/5): - Great views of fuji from the outdoor area, and really close to the lake.
The staff was great and super friendly. The AC was great Not that many options for electrical outlets, but that seems more like a general issue of tatami rooms.
The room I got would get super warm during the morning, the materials and the sun hitting it directly making me wake up sweating. (though I am someone that cannot stand the heat) The AC was very much needed.
- Ayelet (7/5): Good location for a shared bathroom place near fugi - Location is great- Fuji Mountain View from our room, and a walking distance from a bridge from where you can see even better
Mattresses and blankets were really comfortable and cosy
Breakfast was amazing and the owner was friendly and worked to make us happy The bathroom is shared, I missed it when I book, although it was ok after all. Onsen is simple and can be better cleaned
Rien
- Elizabeth (10/5): Fantastic roof terrace views of Mt Fuji, without the crowds. Host was very attentive. - Great value, budget ryokan. Enjoyed the generous Japanese style breakfast.
- Jackie (9/5): Great view of Mt Fuji. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice breakfasts. - Rooftop deck has spectacular 180 degrees view of Mt Fuji and surrounding area. Onsen is available for private reservation (¥1000 for 40 minutes) for yourself and/or with another person. Good traditional Japanese breakfast. Free shuttle to town twice in the morning. Helpful staff. Rooms don’t have private bathrooms. Ryokan is a 15-20 minute walk from town.
- Cora (10/5): Beautiful traditional experience that made our Kawaguchiko visit so memorable - Beautiful location by the lake, with amazing view of Fuji. Extremely welcoming and hospitable owner who provided a hearty breakfast. The futons were very comfortable and the onsen was a great way to relax. Nothing
- sarah (6/5): -
- Margaret (10/5): Amazing! - We booked our room early. We had a full view of mt Fuji while laying in our beds. A shirt walk to town. About 1 km. Great for me. But not for others
- Simon (10/5): -
- Evelyn (10/5): -
- Aleksandra (10/5): Amazing Ryokan with best views - This Ryokan offers an authentic and unique experience. Delicious breakfast prepared by the host, amazing views, on-site onsen and free shuttle to the bus station. We really enjoyed our stay. N/a
- Pam (6/5): Underwhelmed - Lovely breakfast. View of Fuji if you climb to the terrace (our room gad a view with a bug power pole in the middle), A bit shabby. Lots of rules. A long way from station and the shuttle service is very limited.
