The only thing is my kids found a pair of dirty underwear under one of the beds. Otherwise, very nice. I would visit again.

The description says Dinner and Bar, but there was no dinner when we got there (we arrived at 8, maybe too late?). We didn’t need dinner, but want to make others aware. There are other restaurants and food trucks around the area. We did grab a couple of beers from the cooler to enjoy in our room. Close to 2 beautiful waterfalls! Gorgeous view. Very spacious room (with a separate little room for our daughter). Breakfast was great!

- Jay (10/5): - The property is pretty far from the main road, but we were glad that not far from it is a very scenic spot of Hraunfossar and Barnfoss. The room is nice, with an attic level for sofas and a table with skylight.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Serene setting - This was my favorite hotel during our time in Iceland. The setting is positively beautiful and serene. Our room had a loft, so our teenager had her own space. Nice breakfast as well. Not particularly close to anything, but perfect if you want peace and quiet.
- Jennifer (10/5): - We had a very nice stay overall. We arrived close to the cutoff checkin time of 11:00 pm and had called in advance that we might be late. The owner was very understanding and accommodating. One issue we had was when we tried to use the hot water in the room after we checked in, it wasn’t working both for the sink and the shower. We called the front desk about it and they said that we would have to wait until the next morning as the tank was out of hot water. Other than that, the room was clean. We had the room with the loft as there were 3 of us. The free breakfast included was a nice treat.

We stayed and five different places through our Iceland and this was our favorite out of the five. Very fair price compared to everywhere else we stayed… highly recommend it

- Laura (10/5): Will stay again! :-) - Wonderful! We loved our stay at Hotel A. Wonderful host, beautiful location, room was exactly as advertised. The breakfast buffet and view in the morning was fantastic. The family that runs the hotel is so lovely and could not have made us feel more welcome. Dinner was offered, but as we were still jetlagged, we opted for an early night but the options sounded wonderful. We will stay again and will recommend to others. Also, go to Hraunfossar/Barnafoss (10 min drive) it is worth the detour to see this spot.
- caron (10/5): - The room was great, bed and en-suite downstairs, a sitting area upstairs, admittedly it's easy to bump your head on the ceiling going upstairs. When we arrived we were asked if we wanted to book a table for dinner, unfortunately we had already eaten as the menu, whilst limited, looked good. The breakfast was more than adequate, and better than some more expensive hotels, however I would have appreciated more fruit.

- SIGFRIDO (2/5): DOES NPOT OFFER WHAT WEBSITE STATES - We actually cancelled on arrival because although the website offers dinner on arrival we were told it was unavailable, after driving all day and having poor eyesight for travelling at night we did not fell up to wanting to look for somethiong to eat miles away. Decide to cancel, we were not refunded not even 1 night of the two even though the manager was agreeable.
- Sangita (10/5): - We stayed here for 1 night. We reached a bit after dark and it was our first night in Iceland. The guy at the reception did not understand much English. It was very dark as there is no light pollution. It would have been helpful if he had come with us to show the room, as we had to cross a little bridge after parking our car and we were fumbling in the dark. It is not far from the parking, or the main building, but he just gave us the keys and pointed outside, rather than just take the 5 min walk and show us the room. The breakfast was adequate and the view was good from the breakfast cafe. We did not see the northern lights that night, but the place can be great to see the northern lights. The cafe has microwave, and it is possible that they let you warm your own food there. The room had the coffee maker only.

- Sarah (8/5): - Room was nice. Good size. Hot water. Loft had a low ceiling, and the front door lock was a little frustrating. It auto locks, door is heavy, and the key chain is huge. Breakfast was typical for the other places we stayed around the region A bit hard to find in the dark. No real signage that we saw and it is 2 separate buildings that could be mistaken as a residence. Didn't spend a lot of time but we were hoping for more of a lounge / social area. Hoped for couches around a fire to curl up and read or have a drink but the fire wasn't lit, area closed at 10, and it was in the dining area. All in all it was a nice stay.

Located in a beautifully situated area, the owners have expanded the cabins with lofts and made some other beautiful upgrades, including in-floor heating. The young gentleman at the front was extremely kind and helpful, as well as the other gentleman who put together an amazing breakfast spread. We didn't get the opportunity to thank him for it, but hopefully he will see this review! Thank-you, Hotel A...we will be back again.

- Xin (8/5): Something cool, something a bit disappointing - We arrived in a rainy cold night at this place. The room is clean and linens looks good as well. There are in-floor heating, so really nice on the feet. However, there is no temp control in thre room, so we got too hot during the night. The sound insulation is not good though. We can clearly hear the next door baby cry and toddler buncing around. Btw, the room has a cool loft with a small skylight, with 2 couch on there, I guess it's for watching northern light, but we didn't have the luxlck to see it. The glass door entrance would also be a nice touch to stay warm insidde and watching northern light, if there is any. The nice fire in the lounge was not on, which was a bit disappointing. One of the reason I choose this hotel is for that nice fire...

As there is no real entertainment in this area other than drinking (which my wife and I don’t do much), a television would have been nice company until bedtime

- PETER (8/5): - The location of the property is fairly remote from any of the larger towns but it is surrounded by beautiful scenery. Make sure you take the 3 minute drive to the spectacular Hraunfossar. You won't be disapointed. The host is friendly and welcoming and the breakfast is nice.

- Laura (6/5): - The hotel had cute rooms with lofts where there was a twin bed. The property had been renovated and felt quite new and updated. The shower was large and comfortable. Plenty of plugs for charging. Our biggest issue was the midges. The hotel is near water, and if there’s no breeze the property is covered with biting midges in the summer. We had all of our doors and windows closed, and we still had them in the room with us. We left literally covered from head to toe with midge bites, which took 3 days to stop itching. There was not enough information given, warning about what the bugs do, or preventative measures taken by the hotel to ensure our room was midge free. The recommendation was “keep doors and windows shut,” which we did. So the midges must have gotten in when other people were entering and exiting. I hope the hotel invests in some fans for every room to help summer guests not have to suffer this fate.

The family is very friendly and the meals were great. We also saw the Northern Lights so clearly from here away from the light pollution of Reykjavík. Highly recommend!

Breakfast was also wonderful, a good variety of foods to choose from. Unfortunately, since we were visiting during the low season, the restaurant was not offering dinner. We had to find a takeaway meal to adapt to this situation.

BUT the accommodations were very good. Geo thermal heated slate floors were awesome. The Breakfast was simple great tasty. The homemade fruit spread and homemade chocolate spread were awesome. Would recommend. Plus Fluffy treated us nicely.

- Staci (10/5): Stay here, you will love it!!! - Wow, what a great place. We were in room 24, best one location wise so ask for it. Very comfy, plenty of room. The shower wasn’t the best but it did it’s job. The breakfast buffet in main building was delicious. They have a bread loaf there that was to die for. We didn’t try the dinner as cod and lamb were only entrees on the menu. My daughter is way too picky and wouldn’t have eaten that but everyone who was having dinner seemed to enjoy it. We did have to make the one hour drive back to Borgarnes to get dinner but it’s not a bad drive. The hosts were super generous and friendly. I wish we could’ve stayed longer. Enjoyed just sitting in the main cabin living area with a book and a beer. Fun dog on property that loved belly rubs. My 9 year old fell in love with him. Vidgelmer cave tour just down the road is a must do. Stay here, I promise you will love it!!!
- Piotr (10/5): highly recommended - Beautiful setting and comfortable stay. The loft upstairs was convenient for our son and we enjoyed the views right out of our window and porch. Food was delicious at the on site dining room but a bit pricy. We enjoyed staying there as our venture point for trips north and west, also checked the nearby waterfalls and nature reserve. Overall highly recommended and friendly.
