- Tracy (8/5): Cute and basic - The Williams Street area is our favorite. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Check-in was easy, even though there is no staff present. Beds were comfortable. We stayed here for a concert at the Sylvee. It was about a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. This hotel is a great alternative if the hotels closer to the Sylvee are too pricey.
- Melissa (8/5): - It it clean and a big room. No staff on the premise which was fine. The restaurant below was closed. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the AC unit was very loud. I had to turn it off to sleep.

- Michael (10/5): - I was initially nervous when I read that the hotel did not have their own parking area, but it was super easy to find spaces on the street, right in front of the property. The check-in process was simple — I received a text with the access code and I was able to get in without any problems or fuss. The room was spacious and clean and had everything I needed. I will definitely book again.

There was some early morning street noise, not the hotel's fault, otherwise we slept fine. Never saw a human, but we didn't need any assistance. No frills, great location for us, a good value.

- Eric (10/5): A great place for me. - This worked great. A nice neighborhood to walk around, with a cafe downstairs and the food coop next door. It's the opposite side of town from the university, but the conference center and business center is 1.3 miles (a 25-minute walk), and for those on public transit, there's a bus stop just outside the door.

I was very disappointed when I tried to get someone to respond. There was no staff on site, and they responded after we checked out, saying sorry but no refund. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

- Stephen (10/5): Can’t beat the location! - About as in the heart of Madison as you can get at a great price! Saw most of the local sites on foot! The lack of human contact takes some getting used to, but I had no reportable issues. Well, except the air conditioner had an annoying high pitched whine but it was cool enough to turn off at night.

It was challenging to check in and confirm our room number and then once we got in our room its hot and stuffy and the super cool fan/ac doesn’t work and no one is available to talk to/problem solve with. A bummer to be sure.
- Adriana (4/5): - Too expensive for the conditions provided: more than 300 CAD per night for Sep 8 - 11 weekend. One of the bed sheets was previously used and it was not changed. We had to sleep without covering bed sheet and to ask to be changed the next day. The breakfast was not free as advertised. They had just coffee and pastries and you could have breakfast (eggs, pancakes) for a charge. Noisy at night - 12.30 am noise in the room above. No reception - no phone number provided (just email). You cannot contact anybody if there are problems.

The room smelled when we arrived, and further inspection revealed the bedsheets had not been changed (dirt, filled with giant hairs, creased from the previous night's bodies). The property was impossible to contact, for over 24 hours, meaning they couldn't put it right and we had to book elsewhere. Even Expedia found it difficult to get in touch with them! Give the Madison Marquette so-called Hotel a WIDE BERTH.

- Carol D (8/5): Very neighborly - Great hotel if you're in Madison for an event on the east side of the capitol. Check-in was completely contactless. They texted me the code for the door to the building and my room. The room was modern, clean and bright, with windows overlooking the neighborhood of housing shared by UW students. The lake is a short walk away. I had to leave before 7:30 a.m., so I missed the pastries, as well as the made to order breakfast that was available later. It would have been nice to have the pastries and some coffee out for early risers, since there isn't self-serve coffee in the room. If I stay at this hotel again, I'll plan to bring coffee and snack provisions. It felt like I was part of the neighborhood.

Because we had to check out at 4 a.m., we only wished there’d been some fruit or portable snack to take to the airport. We will recommend the Marquette to others.
- Desmond (10/5): - Property is a nice location on Willy street, and there is so much food and coffee options nearby, and the contact-less check in and also check-out is a nice feature as well, the tv with all the streaming services that we could watch for free was a big plus, and accommodations we requested from the hotel were given to us no problem at all. If you’re in town for a visit, I would recommend The Marquette Hotel!

- Laurie (4/5): Disappointing Hotel in good neighborhood. - Not a comfortable hotel. Room has awful vinyl flooring. Very inadequate lighting. TV system is disappointing. Breakfast is really minimal. It's more like a $100 Comfort Inn than a $200 a night hotel. The best thing is the interesting neighborhood it's in.

- Rachel (10/5): Wonderful Stay - Absolutely excellent stay for my daughter and me who were there to see the University. The hotel is on the bus line from the airport. $2 got us there. $2 got us to the University. Check in very easy. Management available for any questions or issues. Loved the free dryer because our clothes got soaked in the rain. We did not have to take wet clothes home with us. Pastries and coffee in the morning were top notch. The room was spotless and sparkling clean. Absolutely no complaints at all. When my daughter is in school during the next 4 years, I plan to stay at the Marquette.

The room was clean and spacious. Nice wood floors. The only downside was not having a closet or anywhere to place our clothes and bags.

- Jiqin (6/5): Depending on your needs - It is clean and quiet due to limited rooms available. The text communication for check-in and check-out was convenient. However, one needs to find a free street park spot which can be more than a block away. It will be a pain in a cold and snow/rainy night even if I assume it is a safe neighborhood. Unfortunately, the hand soap dispenser is broken from the first use, and the kids cannot reach the toilet paper roll since it was so far way from the toilet. Also, TV is much smaller than expected and in a very awkward position which only allow people in one bed to view. The free breakfast (7:30-11:30) comprises limited quantity of pastries (labelled one per customer), coffee, tea and orange juice. I am sure it might be good for others likely not suitable for a family.

- Kate (10/5): Great Safe Location - I was pleasantly surprised how nice the hotel was. My daughter and I stayed for one night on the 2nd floor. Safety was my frist priority when booking and we felt safe at this hotel. I was able to find parking close by, but the streets do fill up later in the evening so something to keep in mind. We stayed on a night they didn't offer a hot breakfast and by the time we went down to get some pastries there were only two left. I received a txt prior to my visit with the check in details and everything ran smoothly. I would definitely stay again, it was a nice clean safe hotel in a great location.
- Lisa (10/5): Great neighborhood hotel - The hotel is wonderful. The self check in was super simple. I had a very large third floor room. New bathroom fixtures, bed comfortable and appreciated the mini fridge for my left overs from a local treasure of a restaurant. Walked to my concert at the Sylvee and took a quick Uber back.Only downside was I ordered breakfast for the room and they lost the order. I eventually just grabbed my stuff and went down to the cafe. The girl was super nice and I just decided to dine downstairs. Waiting for my chai waffle. Hope it's worth the wait!

On a different note, the heating/cooling system was not operable. There was a window air conditioner unit installed which was very loud and rattling. The weather was not very warm, but we ran the air conditioner anyway since we could not open the other window. The room was spotless and the breakfast area had good coffee and pastries.

The tv had a bunch of streaming services I don’t normally use so use the local tv setting and that wasn’t too good, but didn’t watch much tv anyway.

- Kelly (10/5): - Pleasantly surprised about this hotel. My husband was wary because it was off the beaten path, but we were easily charmed by it! Easy check-in, very nice room, very clean, quiet. Our fire alarm battery began to beep for a low battery and it was changed within hours. The best complimentary danish ever in morning, with a cute café attached. We will stay here again!

Less concerned about the bugs, as bugs happen, but when brought to the attention of the staff they said I needed to keep the room door closed (which I had been), and when I pointed out they seemed to be coming from in the bathroom (sink, shower drain, etc.) they didn't respond. Would expect at least some commentary on trying to fix the situation.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place, good location! - Great place. Eco friendly. We stayed at ground level accessible unit that has its own private entrance. Clean and well thought out. It might be hard to park out on the street since the area is very popular. We’ve read about their great breakfast and were looking forward to it, but unfortunately the breakfast service was suspended during our stay for staff holidays. They did give us great coffee and pastries for free. Overall a very nice place.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel is lovely, but a little unusual in that they work towards a contactless experience. When you book, you're sent a code for the exterior door and your room. There isn't a check in counter, or staff. It's more like going up the stairs to an apartment. You simply use the codes and take your stuff up the stairs to your room. The rooms themselves are neat, stylish and very clean, . The bed was very comfortable. The communication says there is a blocked of loading zone so that you can get your bags up to your room more easily, but there was not one. You just have to find street parking, which wasn't too hard. We managed to find a space across the street. My only real complaint has to do with the hotels location in what is essentially a residential area. About 2 a.m. there were 3-4 people outside the building speaking loudly, with their bass heavy music thumping. After about 30 minutes they were on their way, but at that point I was awake. I don't know if this is a rare or common occurrence, as I was only there for one night. Overall it was quite a nice experience, and I would stay there again.

- Sarah (10/5): Great experience, great location! - We LOVED this place! Wonderful location, easiest check-in/out ever and the $5 breakfasts were divine! This place is located in a really fun, walkable neighborhood, which was perfect for us. The room is large, no frills, but the whole experience and process here feels very European - love how hands off it was. If I'm in Madison again, I'll only stay here!
