Guest Reviews
- Daphne (8/5): -
- Boris (9/5): - Everything was great. The location is perfect to take a walk downtown as well as to the beach. The apartment is very comfortable and well suited.
A short misunderstanding with the reservation could be resolved quickly and the owner responded immediately.
Always happy to come again.
- WOJCIECH (8/5): -
- Mall (8/5): Good stay, comfy sleep - Comfyyy stay. Was pitstop for our NC500 trip.
- Gary (10/5): 😉 - Spot on gaff upside down pineapple wallpaper had me in stitches.
- brian (3/5): A total disgrace of a property and poorly maintained and misrepresented - the only positive was the beds- very comfortable so many things: we booked 4 bedroom property and were given 2 bedroom.
They have mixed photos of multiple properties so be warned - what you see may not be what you get and in any other planet that is misrepresentation.
Overall - very poorly maintained:
Sitting room: leather? sofa has threadbare cushions; rug actually looks grubby.
The kitchen: tap is not secure on sink; 2 ceiling bulbs blown; hob light broken; only 1 pot for cooking; 1 tall drinking glass and 1 small drinking glass - seriously? only 1 dessert spoon!
Outside: the wooden ' decking' is broken and dangerous; fence falling down - see photos. The guttering is warped and not secure.
Bathroom: toilet flush sticks and you have to move cistern lid to stop water continually flushing. The radiator in bathroom stays stone cold with others in house warm....
Bedrooms: both side table lamps flicker when moved - either wiring or on/off switch issues. certainly one of the switches needs replaced.
Listing states private parking: there is not parking outside (double yellow and resident parking). The C0-op and other nearly parking lots have a 2 hour limit
Overall - a total disgrace to rent this and when it says pet friendly - wait till you read the notes from owner.. what do they expect a dog to do - be tethered up for whole stay? and to threaten cleaning charges if they find any dog hair on what is an already grubby 'leather' sofa is a total con.
- Craig (9/5): - Clean, tidy and good communications with the management N/A
- Julie (8/5): Exactly what I needed - No coffee or tea provided

- Paul (4/5): Great Location but bland basic interior - Central Location The interior is very bland and unwelcoming.
Needs some TLC too.
- sarah (5/5): Ok for one night very disappointed about broken washing machine. - Large beds with good bedding . Comfortable lounge. Washing machine broken, large water leak on kitchen ceiling, front door difficult to lock/ unlock.
A lot of light pollution at night coming from Co op car park into bedroom.

- Baschera (10/5): -
- John (10/5): -
- Agata (9/5): easy and comfy stay. would come again. - location and easy access to parking spot was the best. well equipped with everything you need. super good communiaction with owner makes life easier. could be some carpets on the floor. i know that the idea of appartment is 'pet friendly' but without carpet have the hospital feeling.
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Bolanos (9/5): Pleasant and cozy - Location amd comfort
Place is clean tidy and cozy The one property could do with even one more toilet if it house 6-7 person base on the number of rooms
- Charlotte (10/5): Très bien - Tres central et confortable
La gentillesse de notre hôte
- Samsogen (7/5): -
- Emma (8/5): - The flat had plenty of space in a quiet building that was close to shops/restaurants/takeaways etc.
Very easy to find and access with the keybox. Front door handle was a bit loose and the door could use a paint.
Kitchen tap handles were also wobbly and could be hard to turn off!
- Trudi (9/5): Hit the spot! - Lots of space. Comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen. Weird layout. Not that it affected our stay once we found all the bedrooms!
- Christopher (8/5): Pleasant stop-ff on the way to the Orkneys - This is close to the beach and the centre of town. Easy to find and access, the property is well appointed to cater for people with dogs and/or children. Very reasonably prices and a lovely host. We would stay here again.
- Michelle (5/5): Okay - Close to supermarket and somewhere to eat out Peeling wallpaper, no table and chairs to eat at, drab decor, marked walls, flat pillows, saggy lounge.
- Chiara (9/5): Full equipped flat - Well equipped spacious flat, all you need inside. Easy self check-in. Close to supermarket. Nothing
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (10/5): Lovely and Central location - Lovely home to have as a base whilst travelling around the NE coastline. Lots of storage space for food and drinks. Comfortable beds and spacious
- James (9/5): Comfortable and well equipped apartment, with shops within walking distance. - Very clean, easy to access on arrival, beds were very comfortable and the shower was really good pressure. Sofa was also very comfortable and the wifi had a great connection. The pictures showed a washer and dryer, though there was only a washer available when we arrived. It might have be a combination unit but it wasn't very clear. We managed to get a rinse on and use the air dryer over night which mostly did the job to refresh our camping gear.
- Fiona (6/5): Pleasant - Location
Bedding and bathroom clean. Cigarette ends in garden at back door. Broken gate leading off the garden where dog could have escaped. Wall paper hanging off wall above door in lounge area.
- Lloyd (7/5): Good -
- David (8/5): One night heading north - very happy. - Location - close to main driving routes, supermarkets and restaurants. Quiet location; spacious property. Nothing to improve.
- Sue (5/5): Basic accommodation Ok for an overnight stop over - Excellent location for an overnight stop prior the ferry to Orkney. Very clean and beds comfortable Downstairs bedroom window didn’t open and it was very warm. Very steep staircase to single bedroom.
Insufficient cutlery for 7 people.
- Bruce (10/5): Great pet friendly apartment with excellent facilities. - Once we were able to get in the apartment was exceptional. Big rooms, amenities were great, clean, tidy. No issues at all with the apartment Struggled to find the apartment and had issues getting in. Once resolved no issues at all.
- Anton (4/5): Disappointing. For the sake of a few quid it would have been an8/10 - Bedrooms clean and comfortable Wall paper peeling in sitting room, no welcome pack or even washing up liquid and WiFi is charged.
- Philip (7/5): Good -
- Emma (9/5): Handy as a pitstop - Good location No parking
- Stephen (8/5): OK - Property very clean State of front door off putting
- Nathan (8/5): Very good -
- Nicola (8/5): Very good -
- Prue (5/5): Adequate. With some maintenance and more attention to details the place would be good. - Location was ok. A bit tricky to find at first. Spacious. Beds good. Poorly equipped. No tea or coffee supplied. Window in the bathroom wouldn’t open and the bedroom blind was stuck. The rubbish bin under the sink hadn’t been emptied. The door on the clothes washer was broken and a knob on the cooktop was broken. This meant one of the hot plates was always on unless the stove was turned off at the wall. This is a safety and fire risk. The place was not all that clean.
- Stephen (6/5): Pleasant - Location So called parking is street parking. The property worn out and kitchen needed upgraded. Oven missing the dial which we need to guess.
- Prue (5/5): Just ok - The bed was comfy and the apartment was roomy and mostly clean. Was easy to get in There was rubbish left in the bin under the bench which was still there when we returned 3 days later. A hot plate control on the stove was broken and was turned on whenever the stove was turned on at the wall. Very dangerous and a fire risk. The
At h on the door of the washing machine is broken and can only be opened and closed using something like a knife to prise open the latch. There was no tea towel supplied the second time we stayed. Compared to other places we have stayed the apartment is poorly equipped and there was no tea or coffee supplied. Overall disappointing. With just a little maintenance and careful cleaning the apartment would be good.
- Graham (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lenard (6/5): In the end it worked for us. - Location No instructions for heaters, wifi etc and parking.
- Katy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (7/5): A good stay all in all. - Clean, comfortable and spacious. The property was a bit difficult to find and instructions on parking would’ve been helpful. A welcome pack would’ve been handy particularly on how to work the heating. Cooker has seen better days with a knob missing.
- Catherine (3/5): This place is clean with comfy beds and good quality bedding but NO FRILLS. - Location was very good for eating at Ynot, a good quality venue just opposite. The wash basin in the bathroom was out of action due to the seal on the plug hole having been totally removed. You could lift up the plug socket. Water poured out onto the floor. When reported the owner said, "LOL- waiting for a plumber". We managed.
- Guy (6/5): Acceptable but needed more artistic touches to make it feel homely - Good communication from the owners One bathroom for 7 adults
- Kerry (6/5): slightly disapointed - a central location and easy to get to town and beach. it was exceptionally clean and the bedding etc was lovely. Good heating. The kitchen was clean and functional as was the living room. J
ust needs some focus on finishing touches and bathroom upgrade. We were disappointed with some of the levels of detail and bathroom was not in a great state. it had received some decoration. It felt like it had been rushed into use. No warm touches such as pictures/ornaments. The front door was in a shocking state of decor which was the first impression and the handle fell off.
- Carol (8/5): Very good - We loved the size of the house. The bedrooms, kitchen, lounge area and especially the shower.
Just a few details below that could do with improving
My sister left her purse behind and they were great in finding it and sending it back to us. A Knob missing off oven, chipped counter in kitchen.
Marks on walls and walls filled with polyfilla. This might be because of pet friendly status.
- Stewart (7/5): Was enough for needed - Good size The hard flooring throughout. Living room just didn’t give that comfort feeling was ok for two days but if was for a week on holiday I’d struggle
- Beverley (10/5): Exceptional - The property was perfect for what we required with facilities we weren’t expecting such as a washing machine & dishwasher. The enclosed garden was an added bonus so we could let the dogs out before bedtime We requested an early check in on the day of arrival but we weren’t notified this had been granted until 1 hour before we were checking out! This resulted in us wandering around for 4 hours waiting for the 3pm check in
- Jacqueline (8/5): Spacious and comfortable flat in centre of Thurso - central spacious property in the centre of Thurso It's useful to have a welcome folder with info for guests
- Grace (5/5): Passable - Clean property, comfortable beds
Location positive - close to pubs, shops, and riverside walks etc
BUT No mention in description that it was an upstairs flat which could have been problem for someone with mobility issues.
No clear instructions where to park car. Hopefully not incurred charges parking in Coop carpark as waste ground other side is used by garage for scrap vehicles. Minimum supplies of catering equipment and only one bedside table/lamp in each bedroom. Washing machine unusable as door handle missing. Basic maintenance/repairs required on several things around the accommodation. No instructions on how to switch heating on and off so took a while to work out. No hoover or dustpan so could not do basic clean up at end of stay or during stay.
Location negative- noisy at night due to close proximity to boy racers route & gatherings of local youngsters.
Would not stay here again.
- Kathleen (10/5): Perfect pet-friendly accommodation close to the ferry. - I was travelling with my 75yo mother and my energetic little dog - it's not always easy to find somewhere that suits everyone! This place was perfect with very spacious kitchen and living areas plus two comfy bedrooms. The host was very helpful and kind when I had to message about something. I only wish we'd had longer as we arrived late and had to leave early for the ferry. Would definitely stay again if in Thurso. I can't really think of any downsides.
- Lincoln (4/5): Below par compared to other accomodation we have stayed in. - V comfortable bed. Shower was good. Heating didn't work. Washing Machine Broken. Luke warm water. No tea towels. Overall feel & decor was depressing
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Very spacious, clean. Comfy beds, nice lounge, good kitchen. Tricky to find. Make sure that your satnav accepts Meadow Court, not Meadow Lane. No tea towel.
- Ajit (9/5): Superb -
- Fiona (7/5): Good - location was fab , ideal to know I can take my dog next time a little basic and some upgrades needed to paint etc
- Leanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorraine (1/5): Hostel type place , not nice avoid - Nothing Horrible place ……avoid
- Sian (4/5): Disappointing - The location and instructions to find it. The flooring throughout is like a wet room and whilst I understand it is advertised as pet friendly I was shocked to feel like I was staying in a vet practice!
The shower was held together with sellotape which again was disappointing given we booked it do have good showers midway on a 12 day camper van trip.
- Joan (2/5): Wont return - @ the rooms Were spacious warm bit aso no welocme packk and once she herd from.us she didnt text see if all om a d no welcome package. Constant nyt partyin down stair till all hrs in early hours morning wgich i have recordings off
I was also asked clean bins out house av never been asked that in a stay it was jst basic
I also wld say this is digs for men for a job
I asked on texts on route she said has to go as she has a farmers life also wasnt happ
- Matej (9/5): Superb -
- Jack (5/5): Nae bad, nae good - Great location and cleanliness Flickering light in the bedroom, there was a broken knob on the cooker so one hob unable to be used, no salt and pepper or tea or coffee in the kitchen (minor issue), the TV doesn’t work but might be able to be used with an HDMI, no laundry tabs in the box under the sink
- Jane (10/5): Spacious and comfortable - This apartment was beautiful and spacious! Everything was clean and perfect. Parking was close and the area was quiet.
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and comfortable
- Scott (10/5): Absolutely brilliant - Was everything we needed Excellent location was exactly what we needed
- Elizabeth (5/5): Ok for a place to sleep, more like a hostel - The beds were clean and comfortable there are a few cute shops around and street parking right in front The floor was dirty we had to keep our shoes on, information came late from the host, chairs were not comfortable. It would have been nice to have a small table and chairs for eating and a few hooks for coats. Small touches like coffee would also be nice ( it has been available ever other place we have stayed in Scotland)
- Mandy (7/5): Good - Comfortable and clean Wasn't a area for the dogs to run as advertised. Plus being top floor was awkward with my walking sticks.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (8/5): Was in quiet area considering was in centre of the town - Close to all amenities and everything thing was perfect
- Adelle (8/5): Very good -
- Lukasz (9/5): Superb - Big house, 4 bedrooms
- Daniel (6/5): Handy place needing some tlc - Comfy beds No light bulb in only lamp, garden messy, no supplies in kitchen, limited furniture in living room
- Richard (8/5): Such a comfortable bed!! - Very accessible The property was good - maybe the front door needed a little bit of paint - but I’m being picky!
- Colin (4/5): Okay, but could be so much better. - Comments are based on the information from my colleagues that actually stayed at the premises and not myself. Location is great, but a number of issues with some broken bits n pieces and a few other issues. According to my colleagues, the general condition of property needs some TLC
- Sinclair (10/5): Exceptional - The laundry didn't work. Otherwise, it was a great experience.
- Sinclair (9/5): Superb - the doorknob on the entry door was broken. And the washer dryer was not working.
- Andrew (7/5): Very clean, good facilities, perfect for pets. - Ease of access to the property, cleanliness, bedrooms/ beds etc. Could have had better communication prior to our visit. I tried to call several times, on several different numbers without reply. Downstairs TV didnt work, Internet/ wifi wasnt working.
- Aileen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jayne (4/5): Very dissatisfied - Close to amenities, Very basic, the property shown on booking . com was not representative of the property we stayed in. Fridge was not clean, lap trays were filthy. The radiator and shower leaked. Bathroom items were rusty Toilet flush is in need of repair. The kettle switch was broken. Mouldy smells to the property. Very dissatisfied.
- Atul (9/5): Good value for the money, - Room and house size, cleanliness, kitchen facilities were excellent Only one toilet cum bathroom for large house caused inconvenience in the morning.
- Kenneth (6/5): Basic place to stay over - N8ce location to Y not food and drinks. Great place to stay over Basic or maybe too basic. Have fridge and freezer turned on as guests arrive would be helpful. Also basic soap in bathroom and a few extra toilet rolls will go far in getting the basics eight
- Sunil (5/5): Not very happy! - Clean and tidy There is no private parking need to park in the street. I was waiting for long time to get into my staying.
- Thigmy (4/5): Misleading listing - Location The photos on this listing are very misleading. The listing covers 4 properties which are not identical. It is only after selecting an option that you can click  on it to see photos of your chosen property. Not all properties have king size beds, drying machines or dining tables.
- Tina (7/5): Short stay in a comfy and spacious flat. - Spacious and dog friendly - everything we needed in the kitchen Location was both good and bad. Very central but the area was also quite noisy. People talking loudly outside late in the evening and cars speeding on the road along the river.
- Outwithjamie (7/5): Good - Central to centre of town, easy access to property, clean. Accommodation more like a hostel than a self catering home.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeremy (8/5): Overall very please with accommodation in terms of having a dog with us and good facilities - Perfect flooring for having a dog with us we all relaxed. Good facilities Looking a bit tired
- Lorraine (5/5): Disappointing - Was central to all amenities. There was no tea or coffee, tea towels, hairdryer, hand soap and shampoo, conditioner!
Very expensive for what it was!
Also there was no information about Wi-Fi, how to use shower or anything in the apartment just lots of pointless information about the restaurant next door that you might never visit.
- James (8/5): The location is very good. Easy access to shops, pubs and beach. - No breakfast TV access
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (1/5): Very dissatisfied and will not be back - The beds had not been made or cleaned at the property and the shower was freezing, it was very dirty and dated Not being clean , beds not made and no hot water
- Amy (8/5): Very good - Large clean living spaces and bedrooms. Excellent location, could walk to everything in the main part of town. Would have liked better clothes drying facilities.
- Ximena (10/5): Big apartment, great for groups - Súper confortable and big Nothing to say
- Teresa (8/5): Great for dogs!@ - Basic comfortable accom; great shower with plenty of hot water. We couldn't get the coffee maker to work.
