Guest Reviews
- Michael (10/5): -
- Catherine (10/5): Picturesque stay in Carlingford - We had a great stay. Everything you could have needed in the house, comfortable beds and a fabulous view too! Close to Carlingford, just a 5 minute drive or 25minute walk along the back road. Pete was very responsive and very helpful to solve any problems. We enjoyed our time in Carlingford!
- Geraldine (10/5): - The location and scenery were breath taking.
the cottage was spotless and had everything available that you need
The owner made contact to ensure we had everything we needed
We will most definitely be returning 💞
- Mark (8/5): Exceptional Views and Peaceful location!!! - Views exceptional!!!! Rooms small , suitable for our siblings visit but might be a bit harder to navigate with kids.
- Cassandra (9/5): Beautiful spot - Lovely little cottage with astounding view. We loved it
- Margaret (9/5): Very comfortable and enjoyable. - Fantastic views and location. Excellent nearby restaurants. Great hikes.
- Liz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roisin (9/5): Lovely cosy cottage with amazing views - The cottage is in a beautiful location overlooking the lough and only a short drive to Carlingford where is is plenty of restaurants and bars
- Niamh (9/5): Great location and the most stunning views. Lovely cosy house and 5 min drive into carlingford - The most stunning view A tired exterior but didn’t affect us. The steep driveway could be a real challenge to an inexperienced driver.
- Aislinn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brenda (8/5): Clean, warm, cost & stunning view - Views, comfy beds, location The directions, it read as if we where coming from the opposite direction eg:Dublin when we where coming from Belfast so we drove right by it.. if it said just after Omeath & before Carlingford & it's hard to see the sign leading up to the cottage as it's low down. Not everyone has sat nav
- Ann (7/5): Lovely location, lovely views, property a little tired in need of freshening up in a few areas. - Location & Views. Comfortable beds. Disappointed with cleanliness of toilet / dishtowels in drawer / cooker splash-back / hob extractor.
- Paula (9/5): Relaxing ,comfortable and stunning scenery from every window - The scenery. The cosy accomadation The steepness of the lane though this was unavoidable ,the bumper was hitting the road taking the turn
- Sabine (8/5): Very good -
- Ruth (8/5): Thank you for the excellent hospitality - Spectacular views, great facilities and well maintained. We had some issues with accessing the driveway as it has a steep hill on entry. This probably wouldn't have affected us the same in the summer, brighter periods.
- Bridgitte (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brendan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erika (10/5): Exceptional - This place is just stunning! The host very nice and responsive, actually they were the one contacting us and making sure we are enjoying.
The house has a great view, very clean, warm enough, confortable beds and pillows, clean towels.
Just need to bring in your tooth paste and shower gel, some bricks for fire place if you want to use it.
We love it, we want to go back and definitely recommend it.
We really appreciate the gesture of welcoming us with a nice attention.
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location , view was perfect and the cottage had everything we needed. Spotless, beds super comfy and communication with hosts was excellent. Can't wait for our next visit .
- Peter (10/5): Definitely book again - Lovely cosy cottage with spectacular views over Carlingford bay, open plan kitchen with dining area and living room
- Aisling (7/5): Comfortable stay thank you 😊 - Second time staying- facilities much cleaner. Had a lovely stay The Complementary crisps provided are always out of date 😅 second time
- Sheena (7/5): Lovely views. Lovely cottage - Prosecco & crisps Location.
- Anne (9/5): We enjoyed our stay in this quaint cottage. - The view was the best part of this cottage. We saw the most beautiful rainbow we’ve ever seen. It was a bit difficult to find and not within walking distance to anything.
- Patrick (9/5): Superb -
- Rodolfo (10/5): Lovely stay at Carlingford Sea cottage - The views, the cleanliness, tthe comfy beds, the terrace, fully equipped, and the owners were very attentive. Lovely place to stay. Nothing
- Fiona (5/5): Very Disappointing - Great shower. Bedding very pretty. Coffee machine and pods a bonus for a coffee lover! Host communication was good and the bottle of prosecco was welcome. The house was surprisingly dirty, as was the equipment. I cleaned and washed all the dishes and surfaces on arrival. It also needs a lot of TLC both inside and out - the paintwork needs to be touched up and the furniture needs a deep clean. Overall, the condition of the house is not as reflected in the photographs. The outdoor areas are unkempt, the garden furniture is rusted or broken and there was no fire pit. Most disappointing was the view, which was completely ruined by outdoor cables. These were not evident in photographs. This place has a lot of unrealised potential, but in its current condition is not worth booking.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anita (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely comfortable cottage and a great base for exploring Carlingford. Spectacular scenery and the hosts provided everything you would need to make the most of your stay. We will definitely be back 😊
- Dympna (8/5): A beautiful and comfortable house in a lovely location. - A second bathroom would have been nice.
- Hannah (8/5): Great Stay- would definitely recommend - Clean, bright and all the amenities that we needed Quite far out - not within walking distance of town
Poor parking
- Aisling (4/5): Disappointing - Great location and helpful staff Very unclean. Hairs over pillows, and lamps etc. felt unclean. Bathroom drawers full of dead wood lice and bugs.
Lumpy pillows.
Untidy patio.
Disappointed that it’s Dog friendly even tho it says online it’s not. I’m uncomfortable with dogs inside which added to the incleaniness
- Emmet (10/5): Relaxing - Lovely cosy cottage Nothing
- Caroline (10/5): I look forward to staying here again - Great communication from the owners. Stunning property. So clean. Beds were so comfy. Home from home feel. Costs about 8 euro for a taxi to the village if you would like to have a drink. Great to enjoy the atmosphere of the pubs and restaurants and then return in a few minutes to such a peaceful quiet cottage Outside could do with a lick of paint
Nothing else
- Barry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -

- Eileen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - Views were great across the Lough. Easily sleeps 4. A nice walk into Carlingford 20-30 mins. You can drop onto the greenway through fields close to the cottage which is a much nicer walk than the road. Hosts where great with communications.
- Siobhan (8/5): Beautiful location - Beautiful view. Cottage was cosy and comfortable with everything you need. Hosts were very helpful. Very steep drive. The road was too dangerous to walk to or from the village. Was difficult to get a taxi on the way home.
- Colin (9/5): Superb -
- Ciara (8/5): I really enjoyed it, as did my friends, I definitely go back again. - The views in particular, the beds were also really comfy! I sent a msg to the owners when I got home as I had left some clothes behind. I have yet to receive a response. I would like to collect my belongings.

- Emmet (9/5): Lovely time in Carlingford - The view was fantastic and the beds were really comfortable.
The books and toys for the kids were great.
The bottle of prosecco on arrival was a nice gesture. The deck area and planting looked a little tired compared to photos. As It rained for most of our trip, we didn't sit out in the end.
There were a few dead flies on the windowsills and the outside of the windows had some marks and dirt.
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mc (10/5): Exceptional - The View is amazing. The Driveway was very steep.
