• Azizul (1/5): Staff behaviour is very 😞 - ​I had a very unpleasant experience with Green Leaf Guest House. I had a confirmed booking with an advance payment for a 12:00 PM check-in. Since I traveled from Dhaka and arrived early around 8:00 AM, I called the reception simply to ask if we could leave our luggage there for a few hours so we could explore the area. ​The behavior of the staff was shockingly unprofessional. Instead of being helpful, they showed a massive ego and treated us as if they were doing us a huge favor. They clearly lack the basic manners and etiquette required to work in the hospitality industry. ​Because of their rude attitude and "don't care" behavior, I felt extremely unwelcome and was forced to find another resort to stay in. I would strongly advise travelers to avoid this place if you value respect and good service. There are plenty of better options in Sreemangal where guests are actually treated with courtesy.

• Rahman (6/5): Average - Feels like home. They tried to give a flavor of "Gram-bangla" in their guest house. We also left our baggage in their custody after checking out since our train schedule was in the evening. So that we can roam around the city. And those baggage were all fine. We also spent a few leisure hours before heading to the station, and the staff were pretty helpful even at that time. The washroom was not clean at all. Dirty and smelly. The floor was also a bit dirty since we found some hair (may be of previous guests). And there were ants in the wall. The pest control should be strict. There was no complementary breakfast like other hotels or guest houses.

The rooms were clean, well-organized, and comfortable. Their service was excellent and very professional. Overall, my stay was truly pleasant. I would definitely love to come back and highly recommend this place to others.
• CHRISTINE (10/5): I don't hesitate to come back again so typical place - First, the first contact with this guest house is to see in the main entrance a lot of beautiful green plants with a big sign « welcome ». Then a nice decoration on the walls the women pick the leaves of tea in the tea hills, a very cozy living room with local objets, lamps, plants. Inside is like a museum the Bangali culture. Second, at the reception, Ashik’s manager helps you for a tour, ticket train, bus or any questions you have. So, Ashik and his staff Prosanto and Rupak very professional, friendly and good communication. There a good value for money, good localisation, good room services : in the room all is get ready a spray for mosquetos, a bottle of water, wifi and sheet, pillow, blanket are clean also washroom. Tourist people no hesitate to go to this guest house to spend a good time. Ashik’ manager and his staff Prosanto and Rupak welcome you. I’ll keep in my memory this stay was well.

Wir haben mindestens 6 Kakerlaken im Bett gefunden und dann entschieden, die Unterkunft zu wechseln. Schade, denn nach einer ordentlichen Reinigung wäre es wirklich sehr schön hier gewesen!

• Raihan (4/5): This is my first worst expeience that I have booked room and after arrival; they disagreed !!! - Location was good, walking distance from Rail Station. I booked one room for my family by booking.com. I also talked with facility manager over phone and he confirmed that my booking is confirmed. Also, I send them email and they confirmed my booking. Terrible experience is that, when I arrived to the facility after a long long journey along with my family and kids ; the facility manager has informed me that they have cancelled my booking as I have not yet pay the rent. I asked them how I can pay as booking.com has confirmed me that I have to pay while I stay and there was no option came on screen while I conduct booking ? They told me that they can't do anything for me, cancellation is final and without prior payment ; the are not doing/keeping any booking. They also told me that they are not keeping any booking through booking.com due to advance payment issue. Its make me very unhappy and uncomfortable. Lastly, they arrange one small room for my 3 members family which was very much uncomfortable for my stay and make me annoyed. During my departure, they advised me to pay in advance for any direct booking and also advised me to not book any room through booking.com.

• Summer (9/5): Centrally located hostel in the centre of Sremangal - Friendly and helpful Manager. He even treated us to a Bengali breakfast which was a really authentic and nice experience. The guesthouse is more like a hostel than a hotel with areas for socialising outside the rooms. The rooms are pretty basic but ideal for budget conscious travellers. We chose to stay here to be close to transport links (i.e. train station and bus depot) both of which are within walking distance. Quite a few mosquitoes but nothing some bug spray couldn't get rid of

• Alishan (7/5): Anyone can visit to there it's very comfortable and safe place to visit. - The location is good and their behavior is also so good. Their bed quality and conditions are very poor.

• David (9/5): Superb - Great design and arty feel to the place. Staff very easy going and friendly. Let me stay extra 2 nights and pay at the end. Nice common area to sit and chat to fellow travellers - in 2 weeks at 6 different places, this is the only one that I even saw other travellers. Lots of good and cheap places to eat in 5 minutes walk. Be aware the doors are locked at 11! No hot water shower but this was common and for the amazing price, it's not something to complain about. I think they might get you bucket of hot water if you ask. There was a problem with the bill at the end. I really don't think it was deliberate, there are so many staff, I'm not sure they all totally know what they're doing! We had to go through it several times to get it right. Just maybe something you need to be aware of and not take it as correct when you get the bill.
• Elizabeth (9/5): Superb - I fully enjoyed my stay at Green leaf Guest House. The location is convenient and central, close to the railway station, markets and restaurants but also an easy walk to explore peaceful tea plantations away from the jeeps and tour buses. My budget single room was simple, clean, good bedsheets, fan and an opening window. It also had extra hooks and hangers which I appreciate. The bathroom is small and cold water only but the staff will supply bucket hot water if requested. There is a nice lobby and seating areas with local decor, plants, and books giving it a comfy guest house vibe. The manager, Ashik and staff were great, always available with a smile to answer questions or help. Suleman is a wonderful guide, not only giving me a personalized one day tour of some of the sights but also sharing a lot about life in Bangladesh, meeting his lovely family, and always available via WhatsApp if I had questions or needed anything. As a solo traveller I felt well cared for by Suleman and the whole Green Leaf team. I came for 2 or 3 nights and stayed 8! No outlets near the bed - a minor inconvenience. There can be some mosquitoes but getting the staff to spray a bit before going in to the room in the evening always solved the problem. ( also keeping the bathroom door closed)

• Dip (10/5): Overall the place is good. - Decoration of the guest was super nice representing our culture and highlighting the significance of Sreemangal. Staffs were friendly. The location is perfect. Budget friendly. Overall I liked the place. The bed sheet was not changed before our arrival. We had to call them to change the bed sheet and pillow cover. There was a little bit disturbance in the lock of the door of our room which was fixed later.

• Mette (10/5): A perfect shelter with service from Rubak that was personal and meant the world to us - My daughter and I stayed for three nights and during this time unrest started and curfew was enforced. The sweetest staff, Rubak, helped us so much. He made us feel welcome and safe. Rubak made tea, showed the news, told about what happened and he made sure we could telephone our guide. He even told us we could wake him up any time during the Night. It was the best service even and far exceed what I could expect. We are grateful. A little dusty

• Carciofi (8/5): Recommend air-conditioned rooms． - Friendly, well behaved staff. The level of cleanliness is top class in Bangladesh. Even the back of the toilet seat in the bathroom was clean. It is amazing that they keep the place clean, even though there are many mosquitoes and other insects here because it is surrounded by greenery and very humid. When I found bedbugs they quickly changed me to another room. They also sprayed the whole room with insecticide spray at night. Unfortunately, I still spent the night with tick bites, and eventually slept on my own towel on the bed. Of course, this is not the hotel's fault at all. Maybe I should have had an air-conditioned room. Air-conditioned rooms are more expensive than in other towns. Cold shower.

• Sumon (5/5): The hotel is recommendable if staying in the city center is a priority. - The hotel is located in the downtown and has some aesthetic value/appeal. Bed covers / pillows / blankets had stains and didn’t look clean. Main gate/ front desk closes at 11 pm, and afterwards guests cannot go out. No terrace or rooftop access, no backup generator during load-shedding, no elevators and dining/ restaurant services.
