- Jessica (10/5): - Beautiful accomodation just 2 buildings away from the bus stop, and there is also a Co-op (grocery store) a few steps away. I thought the price was very reasonable, especially considering you could order breakfast (not just continental, but actual dishes!) for each morning you were there. They would also put out desserts in the lobby mid-day, which were always delicious. The bathroom was a bit odd -- there were steps & such, and the provided carafe was quite fragile and broke when I was filling it up lol

- Jane (9/5): - Quaint hotel in the heart of grassmere. We stayed in the Cozy room and expecting a box. But it turned out to be more than adequate with a great picture window looking over the hill. Staff friendly and pleasant and managed to get car park stay easily. Breakfast was traditional in nice conservative looking over gardens. Highly recommend for prices.

- kate (6/5): They have the right foundations it just needs a few tweaks. - Position was wonderful with access to fells from the front door. Staff were all beautiful souls and would do anything to make your stay better. It was immaculately clean. Dog friendly with sausages offered to your pooch for breakfast. Bedroom was huge. Sadly our room was right next to reception and the front door with a sitting area for people to use of an evening to congregate. This created an awful lot of noise which meant we slept very poorly for the two nights of our stay. Staff refunded our dog fee (£25) to try and make up for this which was a lovely gesture but sadly not enough to erase the uncomfortable sleep. The bed was very firm leaving my hips sore. We have a firm bed at home but this bed was overly firm. In contrast the pillows were too soft and provided no support. There were no drawers to pop your clothes or underwear, just a hanging space. The smell of the house when you enter reception is musty from the beautiful but old furniture, but then this is covered up by a very sickly plug in behind reception. It made me feel a bit queasy every time we walked in and the smell emanated under our bedroom door. I think it may be time to invest in a few more expensive diffusers around the hotel. Parking. It is very limited. We didn't once get to park on the property in three days. We have an EV car and sadly we found petrol cars parked in the one Ev charging space which is quite frustrating. The sausages on the breakfast were more like a European sausage with lots of fat lumps and gristle (similar to the texture of chorizo) It didn't really go with an English breakfast. My golden retriever found them delicious though and the staff were once again so welcoming to her and by the second day she was visibly waiting for her breakfast sausages 😂 Peeling paint on the ceiling of the shower and a toilet seat that didn't physically fit the heritage style cistern. Staff uniform is scruffy.

Also the information prior did not say we couldn’t leave the dog in the room. This was annoying as we had a crate and he is fine alone(doesn’t bark). We ended up having to take him out for food and sit outside the restaurant in the cold & rain with him

Parking available and one EV so on a first come first served basis could cause guests an issue- not us as charged at a friends place 2 minutes away. We had an upgrade to family room unexpectedly which was nice. All you needed was provided and the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was great and the service was spot on - very attentive staff. Would recommend a stay there. We were woken by the kitchen extractor fan early and made quite a bit of noise.

Our dog was warmly invited for breakfast too and was welcomed with a nice bonus sausage served for him 🐕🦺👍! Our breakfast was delicious and in large portions, particularly good was the omelette and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. We had a very relaxing stay on our 35th wedding anniversary, the central Grasmere location was very convenient for hikes, with nice cafés and restaurant next door. The staff upgraded us to the shepherds hut in the garden which looked fantastic, but we turned it down because I wanted a shower, (a loverly gesture though.) Being very picky, but although the breakfast was very good, please get proper vegetarian sausages. There are loads on the market, I didn’t know they still made the mashed veg and potato variety from the 1980’s.

Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and impressed with selective menu provided. A nice touch in reception was free homemade cake. Room on top floor was lovely and comfortable with an amazing view. Location excellent. Would recommend to anyone thinking of staying here. Will be back. I can't think of any negatives

The location is brilliant, the lady in front desk was lovely and the breakfast was good! The walls and ceiling are quite thin so you will be woken up if other guests are noisy. But totally not the end of the world with earplugs.

The design of the communal spaces and rooms was really tasteful and full of beautiful vintage items and art. The only downside was the lack of a mini fridge in the family room to store milk etc for our toddler, however they did have a communal fridge near the kitchen which we were allowed to use

The rooms are all very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Great location, friendly staff and delicious breakfasts. A good selection of tea and coffee in the bedroom. Will stay again. Although our room was lovely, clean and comfortable and the views were spectacular, we struggled to keep the curtains closed in our Stargazing Room due to the way they hang. Maybe a blackout blind might be a good option to put behind the curtain.

- Edwin (9/5): As a last minute stop over it was great to find a homely and welcoming place. - The breakfast was delicious. Provided exactly as requested for an assemblage of items. Very attentive, polite and friendly people. All was freshly prepared and cooked to order. I can image it being booked up at peak times. Not the easiest parking, but not difficult either. Limited spaces at the property, but on-street outside was ok. There could be a space reserved for people with mobility issues, but not a big problem for me in this case.
