- Farman (7/5): - Really good valve. The light in the bathroom did not work.
- Mark (1/5): Find somewhere else. - The location is convenient. The bar staff were friendly. Narrow stairs to access. Room was dirty. Room was basic and in need of redecoration and repair. I informed them and left early.
- Eve (7/5): Was ok wouldn’t return - The cleaner was lovely Breakfast was very bad ..I asked for my egg to be done a little more and he stuck his finger in it in front of me
- Neil (10/5): -
- Willoughby (10/5): -
- Michael (1/5): - Staff The room and general cleanliness dirty
- Nimmagadda (10/5): -
- Alison (7/5): -
- Victoria (3/5): Very poor for the price. Wouldn’t recommend. - Centrally located. Lovely old building. Not well maintained or updated. Looked & smelt dirty.
- Phil Unwin (4/5): - Nothing Room was absolutely freezing, cups left for morning tea had a top lip covered in old coffee stains. This was our 2nd visit because no-one else was available won't go again. Have already booked somewhere else for next visit.
- tony (8/5): good location for where we needed -
- Steve (8/5): Definitely not the Ritz but comfortable and friendly - The staff were friendly and the room, while initially very cold, was fitted with a heater that warmed the room while I was out. The food was very nice. The steak with the hot rocks! Winner every time!
- Paul (8/5): Exactly how it was advertised. A great price and the evening steak meal was exceptional. - Breakfast not offered. Evening meal was exceptional.
- Jennifer (6/5): Lovely people, but room wasn’t up to standard - Did not have breakfast because it was in a box,
The staff were lovely friendly and helpful.
The place was central and near a bus stop The room was difficult to get to as it was steep and twisted ,
The room smelt musty but that could be because it was an old building,
The room wasn’t really ready for me,there wasn’t any towels, the dispensers hadn’t been filled up,and there was a beer mug mug in the bedside drawer,
The other thing which wasn’t in their control was that the town clock goes off every quarter hour even through the night, and as my room was quite close to it I didn’t get much sleep.
- Karl (8/5): -
- Cara (2/5): Poor cleanliness and overall bad experience - I really appreciated the brunette lady who helped with our booking – she was friendly, accommodating, and genuinely lovely to deal with. The food was also amazing, beautifully cooked and full of flavour. The room was very poorly cleaned, with dust, cobwebs, and hairs left behind, and there was no TV remote despite asking staff. The bed was rock hard and uncomfortable, giving us one of the worst nights’ sleep we’ve had in a hotel. Flies were everywhere, especially while eating, which completely ruined the dining experience.
- Carina (4/5): not what i expected and not the most comfortable. - The staff were really friendly and helpful, it had potential. The bedding, room and towels seemed clean. The decor was poor the small bed lumpy , it smelt of cigarette smoke including the clean towels and the toilet seemed blocked.
- Barry (1/5): The room was damp, cobwebs everywhere, hair in the sink, and the bed was uncomfortable. Very disappo - seems like a cosy pub Booked for 2 nights but left after 30 minutes. The room was damp, cobwebs everywhere, hair in the sink, and the bed was uncomfortable. Very disappointing experience.
- David (8/5): - Friendly staff good beer local knowledge. It's a little dated in decor however quite acceptable
- Hazel (8/5): Comfortable - Location The winding stairs
- Angela (6/5): -
- simon (3/5): Disappointed didn’t sleep well at all. - The food was good. The room was dirty looking and damp. Bed mattress looked like it’s been shredded and just covered with a clean sheet. Wallpaper peeling of and walls dirty. Carpet dirty. No on site parking as suggested in advertisement. Had to park up the road and pay to park and being on a fishing trip had to leave kit in car but didn’t feel safe to (very disappointed).
Would expect a full refund.

- French (6/5): - Location was good for our needs. Very old fashioned. Poor bathroom situation. Not easy access to the bedroom.
- Steve (6/5): -
- Catherine (4/5): The staff were great the room was not clean. - Good location It was not clean and the room wasn’t very secure
- alex (5/5): - close to shops.
close to where i worked.
easy parking. although i have 2 beds, 1 double and 1 single. i had a bit of back pain in the morning.
- David (9/5): - Comfy and clean beds/bedding. Great location in town centre. All good.
- Peter (8/5): -
- Nicolae (7/5): -
- Alex (7/5): Great place to stay and warm welcome as solo cyclist - Staff are great! Nice pub and food was great. Solo cyclist - pub let me keep my bicycle inside the building.
- Neil (9/5): Great staff and food - Had a lovely room - a little old fashioned but good value and lovely burger and chips in the pub / bar Hotel upstairs areas are little run down but i liked it and would def go again
- Lindsay (6/5): -
- browning (7/5): - Location was great Stairs are a little steep
- Gemma (4/5): Fairly comfortable place and friendly staff but disappointing facilities - Friendly staff and good location No parking despite the listing saying it has - staff explained that it says in their small print parking is available in a private car park up the road which you have to pay £6 a day for so is very misleading. Rooms are very basic, provided two of everything (cups, towels etc) despite there being three of us in a triple room, toilet flush didn’t work upon arrival so we had to have a plumber round, pillows rock solid and very high so we actually had to sleep without them, bathroom is tiny and shower has very weak water pressure
- Kemp (5/5): Absolutely filthy! - The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The food was very nice.
Never met the owner. This hotel is filthy, I mean absolutely disgusting. The shower was covered in black mould and only had a trickle of water. It was unusable, I didn't shower all week. The sink in the bathroom was too small, and if you fill it, the water trickles out of the bottom of the pedestal. The toilet was not cleaned properly, and the seat moved sideways when you sat on it.
The inside of the kettle was dirty, I had to clean this. The mattresses were old-fashioned sprung mattresses on metal frames a bit like camp beds. Not very comfortable. The cold water was warm at night, not drinkable.
The shared public toilet was so disgusting and unusable.
We have many more photos if you would like proof.
There is no breakfast included, they offer a box of things left outside your door for an extra charge. The items all looked cheap, we didn't bother and went for breakfast up the road.
- Igi71 (8/5): - Good room for 1 or 2 nights. I don't recommend it for longer. If you have mobility problems, I don't recommend it, there are very narrow stairs and low ceilings. Comfortable bed and clean in the rooms. Unfortunately there is no parking at the hotel, there is a park nearby for 5.70 per day.
- Mark (8/5): Good all round -
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Heather (9/5): -
- Maria Lucila (5/5): -
- Rafal (10/5): Very nice stay👌👍😊. - All was nice👍👌😊
- Rachel (6/5): Price was fair for the room - Nice location, very quiet Prawn crackers under the bed, bath panel hanging off rooms tired, breakfast not available only cafe across the road which we could not use due to having a dog.
- David (1/5): -
- Sheila (2/5): Rubbish - Didn’t have breakfast Better access for disabled
- Szulc (8/5): -
- Claire (6/5): - Clean basic facilities
Great food reasonably priced Disliked music in bar too loud
Bar decor rough and ready
No string cord for light switch in bathroom
- Philippa (7/5): - Central location, but quiet. Lack of parking and accessibility. An old building with very narrow staircase.
- Jarrod (8/5): -
- Matthew (10/5): -
- Ana (8/5): Personal amable y atento. - La ubicación y el personal muy atento. El colchón era muy incómodo.
- Cathy (6/5): - Location, food and staff. Not cleaned!
- sarah (7/5): Not again - Beer The bed it was like lying on stone. When we got to the hotel we had to pay for dogs £10 even though it said on booking.com that the dog fee was included
- Marshall (7/5): Holsworthy stay - Nice and quiet. No toilet paper. No milk for are drinks. We had to ask but we're given it straight away. Some ones dress and shoes in the wardrobe.
- Diana AMM (9/5): Pleasant and great atmosphere - Comfortable room. Friendly staff
- Iain (8/5): -
- Camilla (1/5): Time used inunqustated - Filthy, disgusting, used, dirty, limp, unearthed Stench of death
- Iain (8/5): -
- PETER (8/5): -
- de Piro (10/5): -
- Maria (5/5): - Very friendly nice basic room. The bed had springs coming through the mattress very very uncomfortable both beds single and double.
- Joanna (7/5): Underwhelming! - Good location, friendly staff and beds were reasonably comfortable. Hallway was very dirty and bathroom was very shabby.
- Merija (10/5): -
- Dorcus (9/5): It was good but the stairs are not wide enough when you walk you feel as if you restricted the space is small for bid wo - Cool I was in the first floor the stairs are not good the space is small within the stairs I wonder how you took everything upstairs but I liked it though I will come back again because I had come a long from London The staff were Brilliant.
- Regina (8/5): -
- Lee (1/5): -
- Olga (8/5): -
- Sheila (5/5): Ok for one night, in a good location, - This room was ok to stay for one night, the White Hart is in a good location. I had got ready for bed and went to the bathroom no toilet paper left, so went along to another toilet down the corridor and none in there either, plus went to make myself a cup of tea and the 2 mugs were in the bathroom soaking with the teaspoons in them, so I dident bother.
- gary (8/5): -
- Nina (8/5): Great location as we had a family party to go to nearby which we could walk too - Great location & the pub is nice.
The pub food looked really good but we didn’t have time to try it do will plan a return visit. Location & the pub downstairs
- alison (4/5): -
- Valerie (6/5): OK, convenient for our stay - Located on the main road through Holsworthy, parking is available in public car park just 5 minutes walk away.
Old pub, room on second floor up a very narrow winding stair case.
Room light and airy, 1 double bed, 1 single.
Clean and tidy, although it could do with some modernisation, just a bit dated.
Bathroom with shower over the bath
TV, hairdryer and coffee and tea available.
Staff friendly.
No breakfast, but you can order "breakfast box", to take away. No view, overlooked building next door.
Shower a little tempremental, went from really hot to cold, probably the water pressure, not mentioned at checkout as no one around.
- ed (7/5): great value for money for in and out. - the faded elegance and hospitality
actually - after you've read the - sorry - negativity below - our room I recall now was obviously recently renovated and indeed very nice. when i say it was good - it was good for the money.
it must be very very expensive to maintain any building of this size and i'm sorry to say it shows :-)
i ventured into the bar area once late at night but ill leave it to you to see why i didn't again.
i just hope this old classic will survive - and you all do your best to help it along! and appreciate the faded elegance of days gone by. A nice experience.
BTW: If the website says "Parking" yes there is - across the road in a metered council park.
but I was told not to worry too much - you could put your money in the night before! :-)
- Daniel (5/5): -
- Deb and Rob (7/5): - This old hotel has been around a long time and has no doubt served a lot of travellers. There was a covered place to park our bicycles overnight which was okay but was not really secure. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful and the bar downstairs looked to be a local favorite. This was adequate for our needs for one night of shelter but no more. Unfortunately our room was really cold. There was a radiator in the room but it wasn't giving out any heat and the night was a cold one.
- donna (8/5): -
- gary (7/5): -
- trevor (4/5): -
- Jane (5/5): It suited my mother and I for one night but we wouldn’t have stayed any longer - The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed the meal we had that evening.
The water was lovely and hot The heater in the room didn’t work and we were very cold
- Wwndy Tayor (8/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the White Hart Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. - Good
- Karst Otten (6/5): -
- Alexander (8/5): - Friendly warm easy Not your fault staircase
- Iysha (9/5): -
- Jayne (8/5): - We couldn’t find the password for the wifi. It was too late to ask anyone.
- Jason (4/5): -
- Loraine (1/5): Freezing, unclean and unhygienic - Ideal location for a family visit, also not far from Bude. Specified room heating was an electric radiator which meant the room was freezing on arrival/during, this created a damp feel to room(Electric radiator, no central heating), blood marks and handprints on bathroom door and bathroom, blood covered toilet roll, mould on shower ceiling, poor shower heating regulation, 2 water bottles in room however one was 3/4 full(Looks like someone had a drink), the specified tea and coffee machine was a kettle which technically is correct, however this is a misleading description. All marks blood and mould were easily removed by the bar staff with a damp cloth. Very overpriced for the facility’s provided. There weren’t any staff members when we checked out for us to speak too to voice our concerns.
- Emma (9/5): -
- Barry Pike (10/5): Excellent - Excellent place to stay and very reasonable price wise. Definitely would stay again Nothing to note
- Lorna (8/5): -
- Martin (8/5): Definitely bang for your buck - The staff were all friendly as well as the local people, and good food and beer at a very reasonable price
- William (5/5): For a one night stay it was OK, bed was comfortable, only problem was the shower started as hot and - I didn't have breakfast, location suited me Cold shower
- Allison (6/5): -
- David Adamson (8/5): -
- Kerry (7/5): -
- Lorna (8/5): -
- cathy (3/5): Needs new mattresses - Location was perfect,in town lots to see and do only a few miles from Cornwall. Best of both worlds. Spiral narrow staircase. Rooms were dusty wiring looked very dodgy by kettle TV etc. But my biggest problem was the bed! The mattress I could feel every square spring and it dipped to the sides it was so old and uncomfortable. Unfortunately I would not recommend.
