- Angharad (10/5): Absolutely wonderful hotel and incredible staff. If I could give it 11 out of 10, I would! - The location, setup, rooms, facilities and restaurant were absolutely excellent. The staff were all amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. Such a wonderful hotel and I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to recommend the Pilgrim to anyone. The provision for people with dietary requirements was also fantastic - one of our party is coeliac, and she was amazed that she had so much great choice on the menu both at dinner, and breakfast the next day! Nothing - couldn’t fault a thing.
- Angharad (10/5): Perfection. Amazing place, wonderful staff and fantastic for disabled access. - I stayed with my Mum before and after a wedding at Dewsall Court. This hotel is in the perfect location - less than 10 minutes drive away, and with recommendations for local taxis to book if needed. Mum has mobility problems, and the provision for her room was fantastic - great communication beforehand to make sure she had an accessible room, loads of space in her bedroom to comfortably move around, and a really well equipped bathroom that meant she didn’t need to worry about accessibility. She couldn’t speak highly enough of how comfortable her stay was (and mine too, in my really gorgeous room). Both of us have said it was the most comfortable night’s sleep we’ve had in a really long time! Breakfast was delicious, and the whole team couldn’t do enough for us. We’ll be back! Everything was amazing!
- Emelye (5/5): Disappointed and expected better for the price we paid - Staff were really friendly at check in and check out. The location was great on a main road and not noisy at all. The rooms need serious updating. We stayed in a ‘deluxe’ king room and it was definitely not worth the £100 a night we paid. The bathroom especially was very old and grubby. Poor water pressure electric shower over a bath with a curtain and black mould on the tiles. The toilet flush button was cracked, the floor was very creaky and the door and bin both looked in need of a good clean. The door and lock to the room didn’t feel secure at all, there was a big gap at the bottom giving zero sound proofing to the hallway. The walls were also thin to the point you could hear the tvs and other guests snoring either side and the creaky floor boards made us feel like we had to be careful every time we walked around so not to disturb the rooms below. (The ONLY free plug socket was at ground level on the opposite side of the bed which was very inconvenient for charging phones) Overall no feeling of privacy at all and definitely not worth the price we paid.

- Annamiriamcalvert (2/5): Terrible customer service - While I appreciate the hotel’s response to my complaint, I feel there’s no alternative now but to share my experience for other guests to see before they book this hotel. Yes there was a storm and the weather was poor leading to power interruptions, but that does not excuse the way the situation was handled. I was left in a very cold room, and despite being provided with portable heaters, the conditions remained uncomfortable. More importantly, what has not been addressed at all is that I was effectively told I could leave the hotel during the night, in severe weather, at the age of 71. This was extremely distressing and, in my view, unacceptable. I did not feel cared for or supported as a guest. Regardless of external circumstances, a hotel has a duty of care to ensure guests feel safe and are treated with respect. I hope the management reflects not just on the technical issues that evening, but on how situations like this are handled, particularly when dealing with older guests. Unfortunately, this experience has left me unable to recommend the hotel and we will no longer visiting for meals there like we used to.

- danielbU8814TM (10/5): Family meal with a view - We attended a family meal last week as relatives were visiting from Australia. The Pilgrim seemed like the perfect venue and setting and it was indeed! All the team made us feel very welcome and we all had a fantastic time, the food was served on time and was very tasty indeed. There were some awkward dietary requirements to deal with and the team far surpassed the level of care and attention expected and were very professional and informative on the ingredients used in each dish served. Once we had finished our food in the separate function room which sat 40 of us very comfortably, we retired to the patio area for drinks as it was a glorious day and wow what a view. A perfect end to a perfect day. Thank you and we will see you very soon.

- nee121 (10/5): Lovely cosy hotel - We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is lovely, surrounded by beautiful countryside and peaceful scenery. Our room was very spacious, with a comfortable double bed and a single bed, perfect for our family of three. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the hotel was very quiet, which made for a great night’s sleep. The beds were extremely comfortable. Overall, a fantastic stay and we would happily return.

- Julie (8/5): - Lovely little hotel, great views. Nice food. The walls and ceilings are paper thin and constantly heard people above us and next to us. Not much around in the area. Bar was expensive.
- Gary & Debbie (7/5): Overall okay, but for the price charged we would not return. - Great location, good breakfast although it was an additional charge. Comfortable bed. Room was nice and warm. For a superior room, there was no proper wardrobe, no iron, no mini fridge, no glasses for a drink. There were 2 plastic glasses in the bathroom but one was dirty with toothpaste at the bottom. Bathroom light wirings were very dated, shower over the bath was an old model with no rainfall shower head. Very small bottles of shower gel, hardly enough for a good shower. Door to the room had a lot of paint chips and a very wobbly handle/lock. It was a cheap fire door possibly dating to the 70s. Surprised there were no offers available at this hotel as it was so quiet. Also we were advised that the bar would close by 9.30pm on a Saturday evening.
- Mihir Badiani (9/5): Great, affordable stay - Decent hotel in the countryside with big rooms and a good breakfast. We were thankful for the heating as it was freezing outside. Great place to stay if you are visiting the meditation centre. The shower could have had more power, but we stayed for only one day, so it was fine. The room ceiling had a patch of water damage but nothing that bothered us too much.

Could hear guests in rooms on either side and below. Shower hose, tiles and bath mouldy and carpet edges need a good vacuum. Dirty tissue behind bed, used mug on tea and coffee tray. No electric socket near bed for phone charging, although usb sockets by kettle.

- Geoff (7/5): Ideally located, comfortable hotel. - The Pilgrim is situated a handful of miles south of Hereford with lovely views from the back of the hotel. We were visiting Hereford so good location for us. The rooms have been refurbished but the bathrooms are still to be done. Dinner was pleasant and not over-expensive. The restaurant was never warm all the time we were there with people pulling cardigans etc on as they came in. There was no mention of breakfast in the booking.com options - it costs £12.50 and is quite pleasant if fairly basic - so would be better if a bed and breakfast rate was available or at least the breakfast price mentioned as it usually is.

- tdsjp (8/5): Lovely one night break - Stayed one night on Dinner, bed and breakfast deal. Booking was easy and Emma the receptionist was friendly. Large car park. Our rectory room had lovely views across the farmland and hills. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. Some noise from the corridor when other guests passed but quiet overnight. Evening two course meal was tasty and filling. The chorizo scotch egg was very tasty Breakfast was a good standard. The coffee was very good. The bar area is a reasonable size.

- Elvis123 (4/5): Beware the noisy maintenance man! - Greeted well by Emma who was lovely pre and on arrival. Room was fine but it all went wrong when the maintenance man thought it would be fine to start hammering, drilling and sawing from 8am in the morning jolting us awake. Adding insult to injury he then had loud conversations which annoyed us further. When you book a two night stay away you expect to feel relaxed . This was taken away and spoiled our stay. Reception did ask him to stop the noise until 10.30am but the damage was done. There had been no warning. No offer of recompense so it will be a long wait before we go back based on this service sadly.

- Jay (8/5): Quiet Country Hotel twenty minutes outside Hereford. - This was our first trip to more rural England, and we wanted to be located central to Herefordshire. The woman at the desk greeted us warmly, and provided us with quite a nice room that had a lovely view of the countryside behind the hotel. The local village is called Much Birch, and is about 20 minutes south of Hereford. The Pilgrim Hotel is quiet and pleasant. The staff in the bar/lounge and restaurant are friendly but in a totally helpful and unobtrusive way. The breakfast options were spectacular. The options for vegetarians were quite good and exceeded expectations. The room was quiet and restful. The back patio deck was quite enjoyable for an evening's drink. We really enjoyed our stay at Pilgrim Hotel. Something not under the hotel's control is that it was a little farther to Hereford than was comfortable for a first time driver on UK-left hand side driving. But that means that it is also away from any hustle and bustle. The carpets might use to be updated, but the cleanliness was not an issue.

- Sally (8/5): A comfortable stay. - The location was excellent with regards to my plans for my time in Hereford and easy to find. I had a beautiful view from my room, which was vast and nicely furnished.. The evening meal that I had was lovely and the service very good. The bar was a good place to meet up for a drink with a family member and her partner who live near. The furniture in my room could have done with a thorough dust. The curtains needed some TLC. Breakfast was optional and I opted in for the first morning but was disappointed with the offering as regards the buffet, although the hot food was fine.

- Albert (10/5): Fantastic room.Really thoughtful staff and beautiful surroundings can’t ask for more - The property’s location was stunning with the views and the well tended gardens to enjoy. The penthouse room had everything that we needed and was spacious and immaculately clean and well laid out. The food was of a very high quality and having a drink on the terrace with spectacular sunsets was beautiful. Will definitely go again Absolutely nothing

- MarkofZorro54 (8/5): Great hotel with friendly welcome and good food - Great hotel with lovely views over the countryside. Despite being on the A49 the rooms were quiet and at the back. The restaurant for the evening meal is also at the back overlooking the view - and the sunset. Evening meal was well done and the quality of the steak and chicken were evident in the flavour and tenderness, obviously a benefit of good local ingredients. Room had all the essentials and breakfast was nice. Hotel and restaurant staff were all welcoming. Would definitely stay here again if travelling in the area.
- María (8/5): Impeccable place and very comfortable - It was beyond expectation. A really really nice place, it felt comfortable, well looked after, the bed amazing and all my requests were fulfilled. The staff couldnt have been any nicer Unfortunately we couldnt connect to the wifi. We tried many times And gave up. It wasnt a massive problem for us.
