- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place but not well-maintained - We paid extra for a room with a hot tub that did not work properly. In fact, the hot and cold knobs were flipped, so I was almost scalded when I thought I was running cold water. The design of the hot tub is just very bad. But did nobody inspect the installation, given the hot & cold water mixup? The hotel is two stories, and there is no elevator. I'm disabled. Luckily, it was dead when we checked in so staff helped us with our bags. Climbing up and down stairs for three days took a toll on me, though. The room was spacious and well-appointed. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom, tho, was nothing more than a small closet. The shower was one of the worst we've encountered in our many travels. Breakfast is standard cheap hotel food. Powdered eggs, a waffle maker, and yogurt. The hot tub in the pool area was nice but heavily chlorinated. The timer also runs out far too quickly. The staff was excellent. They were very kind and helpful. The front desk staff is top notch, and our housekeeper also did a good job. The property was very quiet and comfortable.

The service at check-in was perfect, and the hotel itself is just a quaint little lodge with a great outdoor space for nice days. The location was super convenient, and the room was so much nicer than our expectations, with a fireplace and jacuzzi. The sheets and bed were super comfy, and everything was very clean. However, we didn't love the pillows or the breakfast. For our king-size bed, there were only four pillows, which were smaller than standard size and almost worthless. The breakfast wasn't very good.The hot water wasn't really hot, and the gravy for the biscuits was not warm either. Neither would have been a big deal, but there was no microwave to heat them up. The eggs and sausage were so flavorless, we didn't even eat them. The highlight was the yogurt and cereal.

Two queen beds, futon and extra space for air mattresses if needed. I only wish the single person shower stall was bigger. The yard is absolutely beautiful in the back. Tucked away behind a forest of trees. Ill continue to come back here.

- BRIAN (10/5): - Not too many places open in the winter near Pequot Lakes. But this one was and it was a good place to stay. Very cold, cold snap when we stayed. Double digits below zero. However, the heating was more than sufficient to keep the room cozy, and the water was plenty hot in the shower. Lots of parking, and even some plug-ins (however, these were dominated by the diesel pick-up drivers because macho trucks can't handle cold). No services adjacent, except the A pine cafe across the road. The A Pine is a nice cafe, but for more serious dining, you'll need to drive to Nisswa. There are a few bars/pubs in Pequot Lakes a mile south on the highway.

My only critique is… stop advertising a room with only a King bed as something that sleeps three, and then suggesting a roll in cot may cost another $20. If the King room doesn’t have a futon or couch, don’t state online that it sleeps three.

- Carl (10/5): Outstanding lodging. - This inn has been remodeled fairly recently and has a very attractive rustic interior, very clean and in excellent condition. It also has a large, beautiful yard with mature landscaping. All signs of excellent management. It is by far the best lodging owned by the Wyndham organization where I have stayed. Others have been cheaper but tacky. This one is exemplary.
