Guest Reviews
- Liz (7/5): - Was an overall good stay for the holiday weekend. The pool was very cold when we arrived, but the staff eventually were able to warm it up.
- Brian (8/5): -
- Pamela (8/5): I was more than happy with my accomodations. - Very clean with helpful staff. Breakfast was fresh and filling. No shelf in shower for shampoo, etc. I kept dropping them, risking a fall. Disappointed that pool was not available.
- Dorothy (7/5): Staff very pleasant and helpful -
- Randall (10/5): Had a nice stay - Was good
- DARYL (9/5): -
- Frank van der Linden (7/5): Good location to explore the region. Hotel is basic but rooms are spacious and clean -
- Vithear (6/5): -
- Wijtse (8/5): -
- James Jiskra VG (8/5): -
- Liudmila Torres (10/5): -
- Odo (4/5): Disappointed - Location Place is old and needs updating. Toilet would not flush unless you held the handle down until it flushed.
Towel rack was hanging by one screw ready to fall off the wall. They need a handyman to go through each room and fix things that need fixing.
- Patty (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liana (5/5): Passable - Breakfast was good. a good selection to choose from. price was way too high!!!
- Jennski8574 (4/5): Bad experience - When I booked online I wanted one room with 2 queen beds. Website said they were all sold out so I had to book a more expensive room with one bed and a sitting area with sofa bed. Room had 2 tv's and 1 remote. TV's did work so front desk came to fix the problem. Then, when ready for sleep, I tried to pull out sofa bed but it wouldn't pull out. My brother helped me and it came out. The mattress was terrible and I wasn't going to sleep on it so I thought the couch would be more comfortable but the brackets holding the bed were broken and we couldn't get the bed back in. Another call to front desk. Couldn't get the bed back in the couch so I was given a key to another room and my brother stayed in the original room. Lo and behold, the room had two queen beds (which I thought were sold out). In the morning the shower didn't drain. I grabbed two sweet rolls and coffee for breakfast. The pastries were at least a week old and I threw them out because they were not edible. I don't recommend this place.
- Susan (3/5): I Would not recommend this hotel. - Bed comfortable. No water, could not use pool or hot tub. First room we were in had black mold on window frames. Blood stains on wall.
- mikedeitz3 (2/5): 3rd world experience - water main failure. dirty hotel in lobby and stairs and one and only toilet. Rooms orderly but smelled of dogs, cats, and tobacco smoke. Dated . Staff handcuffed by City of Grafton water main for no water, however this hotel needs new "life".
- Kathryn (9/5): Superb -
- Hannah (3/5): Overpriced and dirty - Our first room had a foul smell as soon as you walked in, and the bedding was visibly dirty and was not changed. When I asked for a new room, they were going to put us in the one right next to it until I requested to be on the other end of the hall. The bedding in the new room was washed, but stained. There were stains on the carpet, walls, and lampshades, but the room didn't have a smell like the first one. The lighting was poor so during the day we had to open the curtains and sacrifice privacy for more light. My husband refused to stay there so he found other accommodations. The pool temperature was too cold so the kids had to get out multiple times to warm up to prevent physical shivering and blueish lips. We expected to play for a couple hours but due to loss of body temperature it was a little over 30 minutes total. The hot tub was empty and non-operational. Breakfast was a typical continental, so no issues there. Definitely not worth the price per night for a standard room with 2 beds, but when there is no local competition besides a mom and pop motel, I guess people will pay whatever.
- Brenda (8/5): Very good - When I called to see if it was pet friendly they assured me it was with an additional charge the first thing he said to me when I showed up was pets are not allowed in the building
We just drove 400 miles with the insurance that our dog would be allowed I was extremely unhappy then he changed his tune and said oh yes with an additional charge needless to say my first impression was very negative
- margaretmC5643AA (2/5): Avoid if possible - Worst hotel experience in a long time. Was given a smaller room than we reserved. Sleeper couch was dirty , unchanged and so uncomfortable it was impossible to sleep. Breakfast was stale bagels. Terrible service We complained several times and were given new sheets that we had to change ourselves.
- Liana (5/5): Passable - Being able to have a room on the first floor. Couldnt get the door to our room to latch! We switched rooms.
Breakfast was a little dissapointing, not a whole lot to offer. The muffins were pretty dry.
- Camarena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marjorie (3/5): Poor -
- Cory (6/5): - The property just needed to be cared for better.
- Ginnie (8/5): It was a good place for our short trip. - It was nice place and the gentlemen working I believe was the only person working. He was there every time we came in and out. He was doing a great job. The hot tub was not in service, the water in the pool was COLD and the toilet in our room did not flush and we ended up changing rooms.
- grappler130 (10/5): Enjoyable experience - I think a lot of the bad reviews are from people that have never stayed in a small town hotel before. Service was good room was clean breakfast was timely and the pool was open.
- Nicholas (6/5): Pleasant - The staff was amazing and did great. There were issues with many minor things like sticky door latches and keys that didn't work. The place was way understaffed, but the one person that was working was great in his performance.
- Karina (6/5): - There are not much options of places to stay but this is the second time i’ve stayed here and it’s better that the other available hotel. My only feedback would be the cleanliness. I recommend you wipe everything before use. When I stayed everything felt sticky and there was dust.
- Bernadette (10/5): It was very nice. - I liked that the check in person told me about places to eat . Nothing
- tborow (4/5): Needs upkeep - Pool and hot tub were both closed. TV remote was held together with electrical tape and the office chair was peeled away and gross.
- Marla (2/5): - The family went for a funeral. There was something wrong with everyones rooms. Our room was dirty, needed new carpet or clean carpet, ithers rooms bed sheets stained, hole in sink and leaking. Fireplace didn't work. Needs some attention. Send something out to inspect the property and rooms.
- Diane (5/5): Passable -
- Dawn (6/5): - Hot tube was out of service
- oldairplanenut (2/5): Dumpy - Pool area was closed when they said it would be open. Burned out bulbs in nearly every light in the room. Dirty carpet. Lobby was nice with a buffalo head above the fireplace.
- Jody (4/5): - Didn't like much except it was quiet. No service at bar pool had algae in it. Could of been cleaned with 5 min of brushing. Been there a few times in last 2 yrs Jacuzzi has never worked. To me not a good representation of Wyndham.
- Jessica (6/5): Pleasant -
- Verified traveler (6/5): Tied of no HOT TUB!!! - Getting tired of every hotel motel we stay at and the pool is hot tub being down... Have been paying full price for the last year and a half and have had ONE reservation out of 20+ stays that we've actually gotten to use the pool or hot tub!!!!
- R (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (4/5): So sad to see it going this way. - Hot tub not working. Tv cables broken. Needed 2 remotes to use tv.
Takes way to long to check in when you book and pay online.
Clean room and nice bed.
Last 2 stays either the pool or the hot tub are broken.
Used to be a great place to stay. Now it’s just okay.
- Trent (4/5): - The room was ok, the breakfast on the first day had sausage and that was it for warm food the pool was absolutely disgusting between the dirt and hairballs in the water and the pistachio shells all over the floor the hot tub is out of service and apparently has been for quite some time it was very quiet though
- Heidi (10/5): Excellent staff - Staff absolutely accommodated us N/A
- Alisha (1/5): Bad - I didn’t like the pool was broken I booked it then a week later it broke we should have got an email about it . So nothing to do bc pool was broken . Breakfast was a joke for sure . Will never stay there again for
- Allan (4/5): - Overpriced
- Keith (10/5): - It was a convenient stop along my way.
- Patti (2/5): - The room was dirty the Pool area and whirlpool was dirty. The continental breakfast fast would not feed my dog. For the 150 paid drive right on by. The fridge in the room did not stay cold told front desk they did nothing and on top if that it stank of spoiled food. 2 lamps did not work and my fire alarm was in the dresser drawer. DO NOY STAY HERE DIRTY
- Evonne (10/5): - Nice and clean and fast, friendly check in.
- Jody (6/5): - Just an average hotel. Didn't like large trash can out front could be in a cage. It's a construction crew hotel at best. When you have no other choice that's what you get.
- Heidi (1/5): Bad -
- rafirth2023 (10/5): Amazing staff so helpful and accommodating. The - It was fantastic. Clean and the front desk staff went above and beyond. While the breakfast was basic conti ental the coffee was delicious and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Reasonably priced and very comfortable
- Chris (6/5): - The hotel has become very dated over the years. The breakfast was subpar and only went until 9 am. The coffee was horrendous - it was literally water with minimal coffee. The boiled eggs were rubber balls, and jam was solid when used for toast.
- Jim (8/5): Very good - Comfortable bed. Quiet room. Good hot water.
- White (2/5): Very poor -
- Amelia (8/5): - Hotel was clean, staff was great
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- S6097VYinfo (10/5): Great Stay over the 4th of July - We had to stay in Grafton since our destination city, Park River, was booked up. We thoroughly enjoyed it there, since some friends has the same problem (no quarter) from Park River. They lived near the Twin Cities (we are from Cedar Rapids, Iowa). The Attendant made us a pizza and all was well with our soul. We visited our relatives, young and old.
- Richard (3/5): Cost too high for this room and. this location -
- Vern (5/5): Passable - The location was great. The hot tub was not working, and apparently, it had not been working for quite some time. No one offered us this information prior to our arrival. One of the reasons we chose the hotel was to enjoy the hot tub in the evening. Very disappointing.
Also, we were a family/friend group of 12 adults. The images/ description of the three suites we booked suggested a 450 s.f. suite with separate living rooms and bedrooms. When we arrived, we discovered they were not separate - again, it was very disappointing, and we ended up renting an additional room to accommodate privacy aspects.
- Geraldine (6/5): - Needs updating- especially carpet!
- Myrna (4/5): - While the staff were great, the property was disappointing. The pillows were in need of replacement, the towels were yellowed and thin. It is an older property that needs a very thorough cleaning in the lobby. Dusty blinds, dusty buffalo head, dusty easy chairs. Bright spot was the complimentary breakfast which was satisfying. For $150 night U.S. I expected a better quality hotel.
- Lori (7/5): The stay was okay, but quite pricey for Grafton, ND. - It was okay. The decaf coffee was exceptionally weak. Not much room for seating.
- Terry (10/5): Exceptional - Clean an quiet Price
- Kingbird (9/5): Superb -
- DarlaG51 (10/5): Great Hotel! - Nice place to stay! The manager and his wife treat me like family every week. Very helpful staff, clean and well kept. Free breakfast is always ready and available. I always look forward to my stays!
- Meander32942853003 (2/5): Keep searching for a hotel… - Where do I start? Unfriendly staff. Dirty. Hot tub not working. Pool towels are NOT washed- literally pulled from the dirty basket and folded, poorly, to be used by an unsuspecting pool user- YUCK! Dirty towels all over the pool bathroom and half drank beer bottles. Coffee was out in a dirty and dusty coffee pot! Food did not look edible. Key cards/locks are faulty. Had to exchange cards 3x!
Water damage around room window. Paint coming off the walls in hotel and room. Our bedding was all white with plenty of nasty big stains on them. Pillows the same. Hair in the tub/bathroom. Dusty room. I cleaned the room before my family did anything in it. Also asked for CLEAN bedding. This is absolutely overpriced and not worth it. The worst Americinn I’ve ever been to. Stay somewhere else!
- Eva (6/5): Expected a better room and room service for the amount we had to pay. - location absolutely no room service
- 49erfan8529 (4/5): Won't stay again. Not worth $131 stay. - The pool was nasty, the hot tub wasn't working, didn't keep up on breakfast, there was an open part in the hallway ceiling and one of the front doors was stuck open. Should've stayed somewhere else. This hotel wasn't worth $131 for a night.
- Gabrielle (7/5): Good - Nice lobby and decent breakfast. The heater in the room was too loud for me to sleep well.It kept coming on and off and sounded like a motorcycle starting.
- Rick (9/5): Overall very nice place - Good location...clean facility. Very nice place to stay. A little overpriced for the small town it's located in. Staff was not very present on site. Night clerk seemed bored. But she did respond when called.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Pleasant 22 - I would stay there again. Friendly and helpful staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean. Great service. Hard mattress. It’s spring too mattress.
- Ray (7/5): Good - The toilet would not flush properly. The gentleman at the front desk was very apologetic, rightly indicated he couldn't get a plumber at that time to repair it. I asked for a plunger, which he gave me. It wouldn't do the job. I borrowed a better one from a relative. It, too, wasn't adequate. No matter how many times I used it, I could never get the toilet to flush. I left a message about it, and hope it will be repaired for the next guest.
- 846coryd (2/5): Worst Americinn - The pool and hot tub where closed. The Bar was closed. The lobby had boxes sitting there right by the front doors. Lobby was dark all the time it look like the hotel wasn't open. The staff are not friendly at all both at check in and at check out. Breakfast was the worst I every had at a Americinn. All the hot food was cold. The juice machine wasn't on. I had to turn it on. This is the worst Americinn that I have stayed at in a long time. It needs work.
- Eldon (8/5): Very good -
- Sjnd2019 (2/5): STAY IN GF - Our bedding was stained/dirty, hot tub didn’t work, paid for bigger room (got smaller but charged for bigger), couldn’t get a drink at the bar (yet others were served) because no employee to be found …
- Gushulak (8/5): Very good -
- Livin (8/5): Very good -
- Styles (5/5): Passable -
- Jeromy (10/5): Exceptional - Did not eat but looked like had lots of options Price
- Jim (8/5): Best of the local hotels. We go to visit family, we’ll stay here again. - clean, accessible, has a pool and bar/lounge. Breakfast. 6 day stay, bar/lounge was never open. Staffing shortage we were told, understandable. But quite disappointing, it’s nice to have a cocktail before retiring.
- Ashlyn (9/5): Superb -
- Margaret (8/5): - There was no coffee with the morning breakfast. Pot was removed and no hot coffee cups
Bar was closed the evening of our stay.
- Isacow (10/5): Great place to stay!!! - Love the friendly staff!! Free breakfast was good!!! Super clean!! Our kids had a blast!! Love that when ever we needed anything, the staff was happy to oblige..We will be back!!! Thank you too all the hotel staff for your awesomeness 🥰
- marye762022 (2/5): Dirty - Do not stay here, rude owners and they don’t clean the rooms and give clean towels and pool area is very dirty. Spend the extra money and stay in grand forks. Will never stay at this place again. The breakfast food tasted old
- Jordan (8/5): - Comfortable place to rest. Friendly staff.
- dkiley952102 (8/5): Friendly staff - Hotel lobby was beautiful, breakfast was wonderful, very easy to find on the edge of town. Staff was always so friendly and smiling all the time. Rooms were always very very clean. Lots of room in the parking lot to park. We were always able to park close to the front door which was nice since it was cold out.
- Andrea (2/5): - The floor was dirty and the room smelled
- Rbaird_12 (6/5): Service not the best - The only real issues was that the breakfast area was not kept clean. People behind the desk could have helped out if there was a shortage of help due to covid. Table were dirty, not kept cleaned off both mornings we ate there. We had to wipe out own table down to sit down to eat on them. Not good.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Property was clean and well maintained. Lounge was closed which a slight disappointment.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Was a quiet and easy stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Frances (10/5): - Nice room- quiet and roomy. They gave us a handicapped room! Clean lobby and nice breakfast!
- Bill (6/5): Last room in town - The room was generally good, but the door was broken and needed repair. Overall good
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The rooms are very dated and dark especially for the price I paid. P.M. staff acted like I was intruding while the a.m. staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine.
- L74OCkatek (8/5): Standard chain hotel, not bad - I stayed here for two weeks on business. My room was aged but clean, functional, and fairly quiet. The staff was hit-or-miss on following COVID-19 protocol (despite signs everywhere saying they must wear masks, etc.), but everyone was courteous. The breakfast was nothing special and was the same each day, but at least there were some hot items instead of just prepackaged carbs like many hotels have been doing the past year. I didn't use the pool or hot tub, but they appeared well-maintained. There is no elevator in the building.
- Thomas (8/5): - The hotel was clean and comfortable. We were given a handicap room. Not sure why. Since we were not familiar with handicap showers it was a little bit clumsy maneuvering within the shower. I would have preferred a regular bathroom. Otherwise, we were happy with our stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very comfortable with the room and the cleanliness - Very clean- breakfast was good and we were comfortable with the precautions being taken.
- ekinwilliston (6/5): NO! - Going downhill. I've stayed here many times as my parents live in Grafton. It's always too expensive, but it's becoming shabby. Employees are not friendly, not interested in the customer, and generally incompetent. I won't list specific incidents as I have to stay at this hotel regularly, but multiple issues when I stayed earlier last week.
Not many options in this town, but the 40 mile drive to Grand Forks might be worth the $20.00 or more you'll save in room cost.
I cannot recommend.
- Questovia (10/5): Just Right! - Three of us shared a 2nd story room and were exceptionally happy with our stay. The room was comfortable and provided all the amenities we needed. We had wanted to go swimming but the pool is right of the little bar area and that made us feel uncomfortable. That is our only complaint with the property.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - There was almost zero participation of any covid-19 rules in place. No one was wearing a mask and sanitation was not even a thing. Stayed in my room the whole
Time. Walked out in the morning to check out and was wearing a mask and the front desk person tested me rudely and seemed annoyed I was wearing a mask. We are in the middle of a pandemic!
