- Wiskidogz28 (10/5): Safe and warm from a snowstorm - My hotel stay was unexpected due to a snowstorm. So I literally had nothing with me, but the front desk person was so kind. I was able to get a comb, toothpaste, coffee, and a hot breakfast. The only thing that I’m going to pack in my car just in case it happens again would be my swimsuit because they have a lovely hot tub. If I visit again, it’s because of a snowstorm, but I was so lucky that I was able to stay there and be safe.

We were traveling with a team and had access to their large hospitality room, which was an unexpected bonus. The online check-in/check-out process was also convenient. On the last morning of our stay, a member of the staff was chastising some of the boys on the team for running and going up and down the stairs. She was demanding that they tell her their room numbers. The one boy that was running immediately stopped when requested but she persisted in demanding room numbers. Fortunately, the boys were savvy enough not to give their room numbers out to strangers. I think this matter could have been handled much better and she created much more of a commotion than what she thought she was addressing in the first place.

- Q3476MLkrisc (10/5): Great Location and Family Friendly! - We spent a couple of nights at the American Inn in Merrill, WI with the grandkids as they did not have school. They loved the pool and the breakfast in the morning- their favorite is the make your own waffles. We have stayed there a couple of times in the past and it is always consistently clean and friendly. It is close to a gas station, Walmart, a dollar Tree, Subway, McDonald's among other things. Our room was a little dated as we stayed in an older part, but we loved it because it was close to the pool.

Easy access from the freeway with free parking. A excellent Mexican restaurant located adjacent to the property with a 2 minute walk. The breakfast was minimal, but we were there at the end. The pool room was uncomfortable warm for non swimming adults. However it was a 90 degree day.

The sensor mandated by hotel policy wouldn't allow the air blower to cool down room and it took too long to cool down the larger room. We had to go buy fans to circulate air. No one at hotel fixed problem. Was told by staff that hotel is full and they didn't have time or resources to fix it.
- Hepfer (2/5): Very 🙁 - On May 21st I booked rooms through Booking.com for a two night stay at AmericInn at Merrill Wisconsin and on that date was charged $173.78 on July 16th checked in and Credit Card was charged $99.49 on the 17Th upon returning from our day activities there was a note on our door to see the manager in the morning as I was not checked in for the night of the 17Th. On Friday the 18th I spoke with the general manager Kathy Lezotte with my booking itinerary and she said since I booked through a “Third Party” that there was nothing she could do about it and charged me an additional $141.61 and that the charge of $99.49 would be credited, which it was. The total amount charged was $315.39 and was suppose to be $250.00 we are reward members and have stayed at AmericInn many times and have never experienced a problem like this. This hotel was very clean and comfortable and had a great and convenient location! Thank you Noah for your excellent service
- Donna (10/5): - The breakfast was alright. The motel was very busy with guests. As people came from their rooms to the breakfast area much of the food was gone, no sausage, no sweet rolls, very little eggs. Some people were walking away. The person supplying the breakfast area wasn't checking what was more important for the guests especially the guests who had children with them. When the person supping the breakfast food,He only brought out items in small amounts and many people were waiting with their kids in tow. That person needs to be informed of the population of guests and be on top of everything. You do not want guests walking away or walking out to eat or maybe stay elsewhere I did like the Adirondack Chairs out front to lounge in, I liked that there was a restaurant across the parking lot, I might add was very good food. The atrium was clean and comfortable and inviting. As many guests that were at the motel it was very quiet, the cleaning staff kept all areas very clean and they were very accommodating when we needed anything.

- Gloria (5/5): Very disappointed. - Despite the breakfast area was being remodeled and it was during the week, funeral attendance, the breakfast was okay. I have had it better on weekend stays. Pool was being cleaned. When I texted to see if we could use the whirlpool the text came back yes. We got ready and went down, then found a chair across the steps into the Whirlpool, closed. Found peanuts, candy, and clear wrapper under the foot end of the bed. They need to redo signs for the ice machine/vending, only one and it is in the old section. We stayed in the newer section.

Check-in and checkout was easy. Parking was plentiful and I liked that they offered an option for adults to use the pool later than children. The only feedback I have is if you need a late checkout, this hotel doesn't offer it. I requested a late checkout and they said the hotel in general does not offer it. Area was nearly empty when I arrived 1.5 hour after it was open. Orange juice was empty for sometime, low on bread for toast, spills around the waffle area, eggs and sausage where pushed back and did not even know they were available. Coffee is NOT kept is same area and is a bit confusing..

It is comfortable and clean, has a great location, and caters to every need. Kathy and her staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfast is everything you could hope for and even starts at 5am during the week for all those who start their day early. All this and it is a great value.

- Verified traveler (10/5): They double charge and don't care about urgency - The stay it self was fine with no issues. We booked on Hotels.com with the option to pay at the hotel. The hotel charged our credit card twice. We called 6 days after we had stayed their. I was told by the front desk that the refund had already cleared and I needed to call my bank. It has been 6 days since the stay and the refund was the same day and cleared the same day is what I was told. My bank does not have a transaction showing the credit took place. When I asked to speak to a manager she said she would not be in for 4 days and I had to wait until Sunday. I asked to speak to someone else and was told there is nothing they can do but have me wait 4 days. This is incredibly disappointing a clear error on their part that they have said they are aware of is not their problem and I need to wait.

- Tina (8/5): it was ok! I would hope they figure out a way to make breakfast a bit faster! - They didn't have any meat nor eggs! We were there for a basketball tournament and had to leave by 8am and when we got there at 7:30 the meat and eggs were all gone and the staff said they were making more but it took longer then we could wait. The waffle was good but not a great healthy option for kids going to play sports all day long. The heater in our room was very LOAD!!! Woke me up every time it started up. I was going to ask to switch rooms our second night but the hotel was fully booked.
- iafamof4 (10/5): Nice hotel for the money - Quick overnight stay as we were headed to Roughing It In Style (a 5 star furniture store in Harshaw, WI), but the trip was too long to do in one day. Great overall facility, good breakfast, super comfortable king bed, water pressure in the shower was awesome! Couldn't ask for more!!

- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional service for both owner and dog - I was traveling with my Labrador to take her to be bred which meant a 2 - 3 day stay. So I needed a pet-friendly hotel. I booked a King efficiency in order to have a small kitchenette and to have a bit more floor space. My room was on the first floor and near an outside door next to the green space for pets which made it easy to walk my dog outdoors as needed during the day and at night. The staff appreciated a well-behaved dog and gave her special attention whenever when we were in the main lobby. I felt very welcome and the general manager, Kathy, was particularly helpful. On my first night there were problems with my TV connection and the front desk attendant quickly offered to come to the room and resolved the problem. Excellent and friendly service.

When I told the staff at the front desk the first girl said she knew, I asked why did they rent me that room, the second girl said it was fixed . And then the manager said there was nothing she could do because we booked with Expedia. Just disregard for customer service.

- Elena (8/5): Thanksgiving Stay - We had a great stay. Our young kids enjoyed the pool and the laid back nature of the motel. The pool area ran out of towels each day we swam. Also, given we were there on a holiday (Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving), we were a little bummed that the breakfast ended at 9AM. They also ran out of food both days we ate breakfast there. I know that it is a busy time for the motel, but hopefully next year they will plan ahead for breakfast supplies.

Asked for a room on the first floor but was told there weren't any yet two others I was traveling with got rooms on the first floor and did not ask for them. Room I was given was at the opposite end of where the elevator was. Ice machine only on the first floor.

- cheesehead542017 (10/5): Amazing Hotel - Quiet, clean very nice hotel. I stay here for business, but this time it was for pleasure. Beds are very comfortable. Great breakfast and restaurants with in walking distance. Staff is awesome, always helpful. Due to I stay often the remember my fist name.

- Jason (4/5): - we called to request first floor facing parking lot and gave us room number 108 over the phone then we arrived and they said there’s nothing on file about it, and we had toliet plugged up, we went to front desk and told them about it, they ended up gave us plunger, I was like don’t employee should do the fix instead of expecting us to do the work on the toliet???? Poor service!
