Guest Reviews
- AlexSwallow (10/5): Big rooms and really nice staff - Really liked this place. We stayed the night we arrived in Romania and then the night before we left too.
Very nice rooms- some of them were given British city names and some Romanian. We found it funny to be staying in the London-themed one when we had just come from there.
The staff were kind- one example is that we had breakfast on the morning of our flight home and it was Easter and the team had not only prepared the buffet just for us (we didn't know when we booked) but my wife is vegetarian and they really put in effort to make sure she had good things to eat.
The only thing I was less keen on (not the hotel's fault) is that I thought it was further from the airport than it seemed on the map. As the crow flies it couldn't be much closer, but because of where the access road to the airport is and other factors it is a bit of a longer distance away. Worth factoring that in.
- G7147ZKdavidm (10/5): Value for money. Location - Super good and comfy place, close to airport. Perfect for a spontaneous time enjoying the city and sleeping next to the airport. Very recommended.
Price is very good for the quality you receive, there are restaurants close and also stores.
- Sandra (8/5): - It was advertised to have a restaurant and lounge. It had neither. I know everyone blames Covid, but just change your description. not so difficult, do not over promise and under deliver.
- salvatore (8/5): Great spot with some minor improvements needed - The hotel was beautiful. It was close to the airport. The one knock is that while the WiFi worked downstairs, it did not work in the room. The man on staff was amazing. He helped order food and took us to the airport. I really appreciated that he cared for the hotel guests that way. The restaurant looked amazing but was closed.
- Cristian Emilian (10/5): - Nice hotel. Friendly staff.
- Na Da (10/5): Great place Near Airport - Stay was perfect. We were coming in from Brasov and just needed a place for the night for our flight out of Bucharest airport early in the AM. The hotel was super cute, very clean, with an awesome bar. We got in really late, but the owner was awake to greet us. We needed hotel transfer at 5 am. I don't think he was thrilled about this, but he did it anyway. It was really the top reason we booked the hotel, so THANK YOU for making it happen! The place was very quiet. Windows opened and was protected with screens, yay! It was near 11 pm, but the host graciously served us draft beer from a super awesome bar. Wish we had gotten in earlier to enjoy the hotel more.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay for a quick stop. - The hotel location is nice and close to the airport. Unfortunately the room has no black out curtains for the rooms. No one from the hotel is available in the morning.
- Anonymous (8/5): - Staffperson was very nice and helpful. He picked me up at the airport and I got checked in easily.
- catalinb400 (10/5): Excellent choice - Excellent choice, great, big and cozy rooms. We had double rooms but we also saw the apartment (suitable for 3 adults). Everybody was so lovely and willing to help you as much as they can no matter if it was in the middle night or day. You can leave your car for a longer period and they also arrange transfer to/from airport at a small charge.
We will comeback for sure for our next flight!
Regards!
- Cerasela (10/5): - My parents stayed overnight after a long and exhausting trip. They were very happy with the great customer service, and cleanliness of their room. Great place to stay.
- georgeanar (10/5): Amazing my stay at the residence boutique - The rooms have an interesting design, cosy with a comfortable bed and balcony.
I recommend breakfast, not a vast selection but the food is tasty and can feel the real taste of organic food.
Staff is really friendly and you can experience Romanian hospitality.
- Vcxio (10/5): Great little hotel. - This gem is located a few minutes from Bucharest airport.
It has about 20 rooms. Each is unique and well equipped even with bathrobes. This is not what you expect in most small airport hotels.
Beautiful, cozy bar and breakfast room. Great shower and service. Lots of restaurants and services close by.
- Teodora (10/5): Nice hotel! - Great hotel and nice staff. Easy transportation from airport to hotel
- DanaRadoi (10/5): Hotel Aviator Boutique - Hotel Aviator Boutique Otopeni, close to the airport , clean , cozy and new. It s also close to city center of Buchrest and Old City . Good wifi , good airport transfer , breakfast , bar , large rooms.
- DianaC (10/5): - The decorations were unique and the rooms were very clean. Exceptional stay for the price
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Just what we needed after a busy trip and an early morning flight.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owner of this property has thought of everything that would make a traveler's stay relaxing and enjoyable. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bed is firm. The bathroom tile is lovely. Even the carpeting is so well padded it is fun to walk on...a luxurious sensation.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A very charming property convenient to the airport. It was a bit farther of a drive than we expected but that meant less airport noise. Staff was very helpful. Only negative was that our air conditioner didn't seem to be working well (to be fair we didn't address this with staff so they had no opportunity to address it). We were also unaware until checkout that the hotel shuttle was provided at a fee.
- JayJay5 (10/5): - Cute quirky theme. Friendly staff! Elevator helpful.
- Jennifer (10/5): Charming and unique place to stay near the airport - The decor of this place really impressed me. Someone put a lot of love into the details and has a real sense of style and design. Lots of framed airplane and travel memorabilia. But it didn't feel cluttered or overdone. Even stained glass with airplane motif in the lobby. Good breakfast and good food available in the restaurant for dinner. My room was beautifully done in a Paris theme. Used Uber to get there from the airport cheaply (didn't think to ask the hotel for a ride, not sure if it's included) and got a free ride to the airport when I left since someone there was going there anyway. For lunch, I took a five minute walk to a good pizza/salad lunch place. Wifi worked fine too. I would definitely stay here again if I ever came back to Bucharest.
- James (10/5): - This hotel is quite neat with the aviator themed lobby and restaurant. Check in was easy and it's close to the airport. The rooms are large, clean, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. When we checked out the next day, the front desk arranged an uber driver to take us into central Bucharest for our next stay. Even tho' traffic was heavy, the cost was as quoted at the outset. I'd stay at the Aviator again if flying in late to the airport.
- DCtraveller41 (8/5): Good experience - Very accommodating staff. Offered to give us credit for the breakfast that we could not take for the dinner we had. Helped us call the airline for reservations using their own phones. Elevator available. Internet dd not work in the room- worked only in the front of the hotel.. Plenty of all amenities. Air condition did not work properly. They charge for airport transportation with their car.
- Jody (8/5): Good option for overnight near the airport - Close to the Otopeni airport and a fair price. Restaurant has good fare. A caution - our taxi drivers from the airport got lost both times, but there's a good shuttle from the hotel to the airport for 25 lei.
- Ady (10/5): - Amazing hotel,food and theme, design
- Jody (10/5): Quiet stay near airport - Decent place to stay of you want to be not far from the airport, though our cab driver didn't know how to get us here.
- Lee (10/5): Nice hotel - Quirky hotel themed on air transport/planes. Very clean, good value, friendly staff, and a airport transfer available if needed. Might be worth learning some basic romanian phrases as staff had limited english
- Mark (10/5): - I really liked the 1930s-40s airplanes and travel motif. It is tasteful.and fresh.
The room was generous in size, clean and quite nice.
- NorTraveller4000 (6/5): Based on a price/value-calculation this would have been full score from me, however... - ... there is ONE major factor cutting the score dramatically.
Firstly, the hotel in really nice, great decor, nice staff, clean common areas, clean rooms etc. The one major problem in the complete lack of, or improperly executed sound insulation between rooms. I could hear everything that was going on in the room next door, including opening/closing of a suitcase zipper or similar (!!) (suitcase was probably touching wall) - and when someone coughed in there, I jumped! It sounded like he was in my room. I was obviously alone.
Otherwise a great hotel, good location and affordable airport transfer/shuttle. I would not expect a transport to the airport to be included in such a low room-rate (like some other poeple compained about.) They charged just about the same as a honest taxi-driver would charge. I can recomend this hotel to anyone as long as you bring your earplugs! :)
- MariusDrag (10/5): Great place for a stopover before your flight - This hotel is decorated with gusto: clearly its owners tried to give it a French feeling. Nice comfortable beds, spacious rooms, good-size bathroom. It is all clean and well maintained. I was told the bistro is also very good and offers really tasty dishes, but it was unfortunately closed that Sunday evening I stayed here.
It is not right next to the airport as some might think, but in the town of Otopeni. However, the hotel offers a transfer and it's literally a five-six-minute drive. The prices they charge now are really competitive paid less than 50 euros per night). It looks like one of the best options in the area for a night over before the flight if you want to be close to the airport.
- MtDiablo (8/5): Convenient, funky and great decor -- a few glitches - We stayed for 1 night before flight out of OTP Bucharest the next morning. The bar-restaurant was good. The room was OK. The extensive aviation history decor is terrific. Convenient to nearby supermarket.. The major glitch was their airport limo/car. It is NOT included, ok. But they wanted to charge twice the standard 30 ROM for arrival pickups. It made no sense: had we arrived by plane and they picked us up at arrivals, it would have been 30 ROM. Still, recommend it all in all.
- CharlesSelhorst (8/5): Good price & accommodation - Very nice hotel. Good food and big room. Very close to airport so you dont have to spend time on traffic. They just should not allow people to smoke around the hotel because the nasty smell come right inside the room!
- KingAlO (10/5): Great hotel close to OTP - We chose this hotel on the fly, looking for a hotel close to the airport for an early flight. While our reservation booked online didn't immediately go through, the staff made it work out. The restaurant was great, the staff super friendly (George was tremendously accommodating!) - the food was superb. The rooms were comfortable and quiet (we got in late, and up early) on our short stay. A recommended hotel!
- Calaican (8/5): Very nice and cozy hotel - We spend one night here. It is a good location to stay if you have an early flight.
The hotel looks really good and the staff is really friendly. They have a good restaurant and a big bar. Rooms are pleasant too but the showers are a little bit to small.
- babaganoosh2000 (10/5): Great hotel, shuttle to airport - We stayed here the last night we were in Romania because they were close to the airport and offered a 24/7 shuttle. We were so pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was. The staff who checked us in was really welcoming and kind, he also was the person who took us to the airport at 5:30am - still friendly and kind!
They also have a spectacular restaurant which was so awesome and unexpected. We had some fantastic Romanian wine along with cheesecake and a hot lava chocolate cake; both desserts were so delicious. I honestly can say their cheesecake is my favorite cheesecake I’ve ever had. We highly recommend this place to stay!
- CelticHeart (10/5): Tematic design - I have spent a nice evening among group of friends there. Very hospitable and cozy place. Well designed with the tematic special objects. Very inspired and quality finishes with natural stone, wood and glass.
Very good appetizers and meat cuts.
Good for small group events.
- Clgo2 (10/5): What a great hotel right by the airport - We were a bit surprised since this is located in a neighborhood but this hotel was exactly what we needed for the night before an early flight. It is only a couple miles and an easy drive from the airport. Cute aviation motif throughout the hotel. The room was clean and spacious with plenty of hot water and a hair dryer. When we arrived late the restaurant was very quiet but cooked up a couple great dishes for us along with some drinks. Like most of Romania we traveled around, while they took credit cards. preference was cash. The room rate was quite reasonable. Since we had a rental car and our flight was super early, we did not have breakfast or use the shuttle service.
- JanisL51 (8/5): Lovely boutique hotel not far from Otopeni Airport - We needed and overnight between a rigorous week's trek in the mountains of Transylvania and a short hop to Amsterdam. Aviator seemed close enough to the airport to fit the bill. Be forewarned, it's a bit off the beaten track to be easily accessed by public transportation. We actually took the bus to the appropriate stop and walked the 2km or so to the hotel (we were quite used to daily walking but this option might not be for the average vacationer.) But when we arrived we were warmly greeted. The hotel is quite cute - decorated in a style that reflects the name of the venue. Our room was immaculate and the beds super comfy - a joy after a week of mostly mountain huts. We were so tired after our Transylvania adventure that we literally collapsed on the bed and turned on the TV for some serious zoning out. One small criticism: we were really looking forward to a nice hot shower after our very active week and the bathroom looked amazing, but the water was only lukewarm in the shower. We had arranged transport back to the airport for an early morning flight. The front desk manager cheerfully arranged this for us and our driver was waiting for us in the lobby. All in all, I would recommend this sweet quirky hotel, even if it is a bit off the beaten track.
- Micwa (6/5): You Get What You Pay For - An average hotel a few kilometres from the airport and the cheap price is a reflection of this. Room was spacious and relatively modern, but there were no toiletries other than soap and the aircon did not work (we had to move to another room). There are no shops nearby and the desk was unattended when we tried to get a bottle of water (the guy was outside on a smoke break).
Alternative would be something better even closer to the airport or bite the bullet and stay in Bucharest. Both hotels and Uber are cheap (don't even think about taxis - many are foul tempered and will try and rip you off).
Can definitely do better than this hotel with a bit of research.
- jncd2000 (8/5): Good airport hotel with nice staff - We enjoyed our time here but it is more of a small hotel than a bed and breakfast in my mind. It is relatively close to the airport (within 10 minutes) and has many restaurants nearby as well.
The room was well appointed and bed was comfortable.
- 593elinas (8/5): Cozy hotel with great service - The hotel is really nice. Cosy and clean. Staff is kind and the restaurant is good. Location is a bit far, but they organize a ride to the airport if needed (with a fee ofcourse but it was really afgordable).
