Guest Reviews
- Kristie (10/5): - Great room for the price
- Kristin (2/5): - The walls were dirty there was roaches and you get a hard bed with two flat pillows the air and wasnt very good.
- Lena (2/5): - In the first room I was offered, I was greeted by small roaches in the bathroom. It was when I attempted to call down to the front office, I realized the phone wasn't connected to...anything. I drove back to the front office and informed the desk clerk about the infestation in the room. He offered me a "better" room upstairs. Upon entering, it was hot, muggy, and the bed was covered in burn holes. I immediately left the room and drove back to the front office to let the front desk clerk see the photos that I took of the condition of the room. I then stated that I will not be staying at this hotel and that my office is requesting a refund. The desk clerk asked if I was sure then offered to come with me to additional rooms until I find one that is suitable. I declined the offer and stated I will be going to another hotel, and my office will be contacting them in regard to a refund. A refund was not provided even though we provided photo evidence of the horrible conditions of the establishment. I highly recommend that no one stay at this hotel and there be an inspection done for insect infestation.
- Tammy (4/5): - Air conditioning wasn’t cold enough and the smell is kindly bitter.
- Jason (10/5): - The property was clean and it was what we needed for the weekend close to Walmart and walkable to sonic. One downside was the door was a hassle due to it would get stuck and make a horrible sound on the floor. But other than that it was what was needed and front office personal was nice and welcoming
- Felicia (2/5): - Did not stay. Roaches and mold and nasty. I should be able to receive a refund. DO NOT STAT HERE!
- Brandon (6/5): - Old place outdated but good location
- Kyeisha (10/5): - I loved everything
- Andrew (2/5): - Small roaches small tv with bad picture quality
- William (2/5): HOTEL HELL!!! - Biggest problem with this property is the fact that extended stay guests meaning weekly or monthly are mixed in with overnight guests so we were placed next to a room that decided being loud until 3am was the action of normal people renting a hotel room. Roaches crawling the wall was probably next on the disgusting list. Mold so bad on the shower head the water didn't even come out right. A/C wouldnt cool the room. When asked about having my room moved I was asked wahts wrong with the room when I described the list of thing I was told that they were fully booked and had no other rooms event though the parking lot was empty. We prepaid for 2 days but ledt after the first miserable night!! Would NOT recommend. Best Western right up the street worth the extra dollars trust me!!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): N/A - Overall great stay. Rooms just needs to be updated, shower was broken. For the price you pay for what get basically.
- Chris (2/5): - Nothing worked really wasn’t clean and they charged us along with Expedia
- Lawrence (10/5): Great location, great staff, excellent stay! - Great clean and safe property. Indeed it’s older property but felt entirely safe even with young child and wife. Location was great, property was clean, room was clean and staff was great and accommodating. Will definitely stay here again!
- Beverly (6/5): - Property location was good. Room was clean but rundown with cigarette burns in the bedspread, unusable bathtub (no plug and no way to turn off shower).
- Virginia (8/5): - It was ok
- Joseph (6/5): - Grounds and parking lot were very tidy. Bathroom and floors were not as clean. Towels stained.
- Megan (2/5): Would not recommend - We had a group of us in a total of 4 rooms and we all found tiny roaches in our rooms. Our A/C made ridiculously loud noise every time it came on, and never cooled the room off. Did not have friendly service upon checkin or check out, or upon asking for additional shampoo. Other guests with us said they noticed their rooms had bed bugs upon checking out. This hotel proves you get what you pay for, as the price was the only decent thing about the property.
- Edgar (10/5): - First of all I was created by a very talented person, check in was fast and friendly, very clean great rate I will stay again for sure!
- James (4/5): - The ac didn’t work good at all we was hot we had to go get a box fan to help stay cool
- Beau (6/5): - Good room rate for the area, room furnishings outdated, room cleanliness was barely acceptable. Some electrical outlets not working, smoke detector missing, shower water ran cold every time. Could easily hear conversations, music and TVs in adjoining rooms through walls. Good AC unit, friendly helpful front desk staff.
- Paige (6/5): - Rooms were clean but was one of the scariest hotels I’ve stayed in. There are security cameras everywhere, people were having parties outside the rooms. The big steel plate was a nice security feature, but worrisome that the room needed it. As a solo woman traveler I did not feel safe
- Mariah (8/5): - For the cheap price we paid it was worth the price! (Of course you gone get what you paid for) and we paid cheap and was satisfied. No roaches or bed bugs so that’s ALL that matter to us. The room could’ve been cleaned better but we wasn’t there that long. Recommend for a one night stay not extended.
- Craig (10/5): - Room was very clean and getting checked in was very quick and staff was very very nice!!
- Jermika (2/5): - They didn’t change the bed sheets after I checked out I watched them just make up the bed & have it ready for the next guest
- natasha (4/5): - It’s was ok for the price my only problem was the remote didn’t have any batteries and the pillows were horrible
- Kaneetra (4/5): - Customer service was good but the people that are next to us was loud all night long fighting slamming doors I was scared! Me and my kids traveled to see my husband and I seriously did not feel safe the room was ok as well but I would not return again
- Jamie (6/5): - Definitely an older hotel. Our room needed repairs, but it was clean. The walls are thin. You could hear people in other rooms next door and on the second floor. Staff is friendly and accommodating.
- Jerraine (2/5): - The man was very rude and he gave away my room due to shortage of money
- Patrick (6/5): - I was a little bummed because Hotels.com charged me $50 a night and the actual rate was 42 dollars a night. So someone owes me about $130.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Cypress Inn was a good value and clean. The lighting in the room was insufficient.
- Shirley (10/5): - It was nice and clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - was quiet. close to restaurant food options.
- Regina (8/5): - Service was amazing. Rooms were ok just not the best. I would stay again if I had to
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Stay was ok. A/C didn’t work most of the night until I unplugged the cord & plugged back. It started working after that! Other than that stay was good.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The photos do not look like the rooms. The room door looked liked someone had broken into the room. The room smelled like a old bar. I would not waste my money here. I figured out why on the door of the office it states "No Refunds".
- Verified traveler (4/5): It’s the yellow sheets & towels for me. - They can use newer cleaner bedding.White sheet was actually yellow.Old Smell.Dirty floor could’ve been mopped.Dirty looking towels.I got Bite by something in the bed.other than that I think it was actually ok for the price I guess . It was a last min booking.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ehh - It was decent for the price but the air conditioning and shower sucked
- Verified traveler (6/5): disappointed - The check in clerk was very rude , & unpleasant. I did not like his greeting or farewell . & also the air conditioner barely worked , it was on high & was blowing very low . the room was very cozy , nice . but i would have enjoy my stay more if there was a better welcoming & goodbye attitude
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The guy at front desk was nice and helpful and I thought the place was gonna be nice. Then I was woke up 2 am for about 2 hrs the people next door yelling and screaming something awful and cussing and swearing and threatening to burn the place down . Finally got back to sleep n woke up in am with bed bug bites all over . So I'll be itching for a couple weeks thanks to this motel .
- Jesslyn (2/5): - There was no reservation and I had to stay somewhere else
- T (2/5): - This place was disgusting. So disgusting that I walked in, looked around and smelled the horrible smell in the room, looked at dirty stained carpets with huge smears of god knows what and walked out. Got another hotel even though it was 30 mins outside of town but it was worth it.
- Joe (6/5): so so - It was good for the price wouldn’t expect anything higher
- greg (10/5): njoya - Enjoyed
- Gee (6/5): - Room had roaches and we were given a upstairs room. Hotel does not offer discounts for repeat customers.
- Verified traveler (8/5): OK - could have been $10 cheaper - The room charge (through Bookings.com) was around $67 with the extra fees added it. It could have been $10 cheaper considering this was in New Roads LA and it was a basic room. Stayed here instead of St Francisville LA due to the high prices in the latter. The room appeared clean and it had most of the basic stuff. The AC was completely off when we arrived and it was being a 2nd floor room - was hot! We set the AC on 60 degrees and left it there all night and once it finally cooled down about 30-45 minutes later the AC did great the rest of the night. It’s right next door to a Sonic Drive through so this was extra convenient.
- LeeAnn (8/5): -
Nothing spectacular, but I felt safe and the room was clean and well maintained.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Affordable, basic room. Very quiet.
- AnishkaDegruy (10/5): - The only problem I was I was sold a queen size room and I only got a full size bed which was too small but everything else was fine
- Verified traveler (6/5): A normal stay - For the price you can’t complain it’s not great but not awful
- Joshua (2/5): - Just awful. Lady at from desk looked very drugged up
- Shaquille (10/5): Pleasant stay - It was amazing
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Relaxing time.. no music queen bed and good shawer
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Some confusion on checking but finally resolved. Property is in good but not great condition. Value hotel worth the money
- FreddieAllen (2/5): - I called prior to my arrival to double check on my reservation and I was hung up on, I had booked a room with a double bed, and when I arrived they did not have my room ready. So I requested a second room and they said they didnt have one but if someone canceled they would contact me they never did. My wife went to the office around 4:30 PM and was able to book a room n her name. What a joke!!
- Wisdom (2/5): - Room 110 had Sun Flower seeds in the desk chair and floor and food on the floor....the room had an unbearable smell of mothballs....customer service, front desk tenant had such a dull personality.....and my bed appeared to have blood on the sheets.....within 2 hours after checking in, i left.....that was the fast I've felt a hotel.....and it was not worth the 74.40 that i spent, way overpriced...and would never refer anyone there......
- marygjscott661 (10/5): KALLIE & NESSA’S BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!!! - This was my second time staying at this hotel. Like the first time it was a great stay for my family. Again I reserved 3 rooms and they were very nice. They each had a different essence when I went to my daughters rooms it was like a different part of the hotel. I loved this hotel and definitely will return when traveling for weekend family time. THE JENKINS & SCOTT FAMILY GIVES THIS HOTEL 👍🏾👍🏾U. THANK YOU CYPRESS INN FOR A COMFORTABLE & AFFORDABLE STAY!!!!!
- J1938XBlaurenc (10/5): Good basic - It was just a place to rest our heads for one night. Everything was nice and wasn’t expecting much for the price. Will return if in the area again. Has 3 restaurants within walking distance so that was a plus and ac worked fine
- hawgbro1 (6/5): Road trip, last minute stay - Hotel room was clean, minor issue with insects. Due for a spraying. AC was slow to cool down the room after being off for the day. Finally caught up after 3 hours. Would be helpful if the hotel had fans to loan or a ceiling fan in the room. Maintenance and minor upgrades needed...bad hinge on the bathroom door (needed to be re-attached), Shower head needs replacing (hard water damage). Minor upkeep would go a long way in making this a class place to stay the night.
- cliesmann2014 (6/5): HOUSE CLEANING - Everthing was above average except that the pillow case (one on each bed was soiled) We used one (1) pillow on eacbed. It was too late to call house keeping on this because of the time. This is the first time in years at thi smotel to have any problems. WIll probably stay here again in future trips.
- 278mattf (4/5): Thanksgiving Stay 2016 - Stayed here three nights over Thanksgiving to visit family. Very basic hotel with few/no amenities. We did not leave our room the first morning, Thanksgiving day, until about 9:00am, and had our Do Not Disturb sign up until we did leave as Housekeeping was already on duty. They never came to clean our room that day and were around early cleaning the rooms on the other days. I guess they took the sign as a permanent direction. There is a new hotel under construction nearby that we will likely look into for future stays.
- alanlid (6/5): Basic motel, maybe on the upgrade - We were driving - avoiding main highways - from Dallas down to New Orleans and wanted a one-night stop north of Baton Rouge. Not an embarrassment of riches; New Roads is a larger than usual town on the route, and we happened upon the Cypress Inn. It's nothing great (so the 4 and 5 star rave reviews seem a bit over-the-top); but things work, including wi-fi, the rooms are clean, and the people in charge are friendly and helpful. Some renovation taking place, which bodes well for the future but involved wet paint signs and quite a bit of noise (daytime). No breakfast - just (decent) coffee. Rates are reasonable; but I would happily pay a bit more for some breakfast, however basic.
- shawnw810 (8/5): Clean, comfortable, cheerful - We stayed here during a cross country bicycle tour. There are not many options in New Roads, but this one is clean and comfortable. Includes a fridge and microwave, free coffe, wifi, but no breakfast. The staff were friendly, and they were repainting the entire exterior while we were there. For $72 total, not bad.
- 676ralfw (8/5): Touring Cyclists - This was a wonderful stay. The rooms have recently renovated, so they are clean and comfortable. You have a fridge, microwave and flat screen tv, and guest laundry for $1. In the morning there is coffee available in the small office. We appreciated how friendly everyone is here.
The downside of this hotel is that @ $72, there is no complementary coffee in the rooms, no free breakfast and there is no lobby, the clerk is behind a plexiglass inclosure. Leads me to believe there may be a security issue! The other accommodations in the area are the same price, the B&B's are more expensive.
For touring cyclists there is a Walmart up the road 500 metres.
- seattlepro (6/5): A MIXED EXPERIENCE - The rates are cheap but there are some off putting things about this hotel just off Highway 10 in New Roads. You immediately see a sign that lets you know the place is under surveillance. There is no lobby. Instead there is a clerk behind a plexiglass cage who will gladly take your ID and credit card. The room numbers on the doors are invisible at night against a dark green color. The electrical outlet for my laptop failed (a unique experience) and I couldn;t find the ice machine. Having said all that, the room and bed themselves were fine and it had all of the usual accoutrements in a convenient location close to the legendary Hot Tails restaurant which serves famous Cajun food.
- BeHappyChick (10/5): Great place to stay, all the way from rooms to staff! - I stayed here for the first tine last weekend and it's as wonderful. The rooms are nice and clean, but the friendly and super helpful staff made the stay perfect. Definitely will use this place next year!
- 786lorip (10/5): excellent place to stay - This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and it is wonderful. The recently renovated rooms were great and the staff was wonderful. The room was clean and very well decorated. We appreciated how friendly everyone is there. We will definitely stay there again.
- Y5060WYtonyc (10/5): awesome! - Very nice place! New owners are awesome and take great pride in this place. It has flat screen televisions and very nice decor. Their is plenty of parking for big trucks and cars. It really sticks out in this town .
- Tandemers2013 (10/5): Great place to stay - The new owners take considerable pride in this motel, and it shows. It is extremely clean and there is evidence of recent improvements. The motel is close to several good restaurants. We are bicyclists and arrived early that day, looking for respite from blustery winds. They immediately got a room cleaned for us and brewed coffee for us while we waited. Great place to stay!
