Cory (10/5): Overall a good experience. - I thought everything about the Hotel it self was amazing. The staff was great, the food was on par, and the room was comfortable. I wish there was a heater though, the mornings were chilly for me and I couldn't turn up the temp. That was a a bummer. Also I took a walk from the hotel to a nearby gas station my first night there. Bad choice. I was asked 4 separate times for money from people on the street, some of which made me feel very uncomfortable and fearful for my safety. One gentleman even proceeded to point out an ATM for me when I told him I had no cash. Unbelievable. I will most likely never travel to this city again, if given the option, purely for this reason. Other than that though my experience was amazing. Not much to say on this really other than what I mentioned above. The food and drinks were good, not over priced, and the room was clean with a friendly staff. The experience here was on par with Hilton properties.

Renee (10/5): A welcoming and warm service. - Location was perfect for my convention and surrounding areas. MJ was a great receptionist and showed amazing customer service. She always checked on me to see how i was doing. Check in and check was very easy. Reggie was also very nice. He brought up my fridge but also asked if everything else in the room was working well. I appreciate the great service was was provided. Might i add it was very quiet. I was on the 2nd floor and i like sunlight and the location of my room i didnt get that. I couldnt see out of my window it was covered. Other than that everything was great!

Meeghan (6/5): Loud room - Beautiful building. Helpful maintenance staff There was a loud humming in the room that was pretty much constant. You could feel the wall vibrating when you touched it. The fridge wasn't working & we were told by the front desk it was an eco fridge & it doesn't get cold until something is inside of it 🤨 Luckily, maintenance was also sent up with a replacement fridge.

Evelyn (6/5): Decent, nice staff, but way overpriced for the total quality of the stay. - The bed was comfortable, and the staff was very helpful when we did have issues, and room service was extremely polite even though we ordered late. The location was also convenient to most attractions downtown. We did receive a credit to our meal for the inconveniences we experienced, and the restaurant downstairs was very nice. Horrible experience with the elevator, our room keys (physical and the app) rarely worked so we got stuck in the elevator at one point and twice couldn’t get into our room. The room (424) was directly above the dumpster, so we listened to glass bottles being thrown in at maximum volume for 10-15 minutes at 11:30, and then the trash truck nearly gave us heart attacks at 5:00 the next morning. We also did not have a microwave in the room, minimal coffee items that were never restocked, and the soaps on the wall of the shower were nearly empty, and also never filled. Everything is also STILL under construction (we stayed here last year also), and everything is set up and running in a way that does not meet the expectations set by the price.

Sejal (8/5): Overall, I had a very short stay that was just fine. I thought the pillows were soft and the price was reasonable. - Bed felt comfortable, lobby is pretty. Room was dark and freezing when I went in it. It took hours for it to warm up to a point where I was not miserable. I would not say the room was totally clean.

Jo Augi (9/5): Schönes gemütliches altes Hotel mit Charme, tolles Essen und Frühstück im Restaurant, schlechte Lage - Das Hotel ist ein historisches Gebäude in Downtown Kansas City. Die Zimmer strahlen noch alten Glanz und der Savoy Grill (Restaurant und Frühstücksraum) ist sehr gemütlich. Das Essen dort ist exzellent und noch im preislichen Rahmen. Auch das Hotel hat im Vergleich mit anderen einen guten Preis für den alten Charme. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und die Zimmer groß und sauber. Nicht so toll ist die Umgebung - viele zugeteerte Parkplätze und hässliche Häuserblocks. Keine attraktiven Ziele in fußläufiger Nähe.

Olivia (10/5): Excellent property and amazing staff - The hotel is absolutely adorable and in a great location with access to several parking lots nearby. The staff was also extremely accommodating, as we stayed for a wedding party!

Wolfgang (7/5): eben typisch amerikanisch - Die Zimmer waren angenehm groß hatten eine schöne Ausstattung. Es war ruhig man konnte ggf sogar wenn man in einen oberen Stock gebucht hat auch mit offenem Fenster schlafen vorausgesetzt die Temperaturen waren dementsprechend. Sicher ist es auch ein kultureller Unterschied, eine permanente Medien Konfrontation in irgendeiner Form empfinde ich als störend. Das Frühstück ist in dem Hotel von der Karte zu wählen, und hier eher eben typisch amerikanisch, sehr fettreich uns schwer nichts aber auch wirklich nichts für eine Person welche morgens gerne ein Brötchen und Marmalade oder Honig essen möchte, Obst etc

William (8/5): - Unique property. Oldest operating hotel and restaurant west of Mississippi. Free parking. Very limited amenities. Restaurant one of the best in Kansas City. Historically a favorite of Harry Truman. We had a fabulous experience. Staff excellent! Very boutique experience. We will stay here again.
James (10/5): - I'm reading the overall experience. The cleanliness and friendliness of the staff was perfect. The restaurant was AMAZING.. while we didn't have dinner there, e sat at the bar for dessert and drinks. The drinks were s good s and ever had and the staff was friendlier the anywhere we've ever stayed. ***HERE’S THE REAL TEST!!! My wife and I were in town for the Chiefs/Ravens game. We arrived Friday for a 3 night stay. Friday late-morning my wife's mother had an accident and was being admitted to the hospital. Without question, the hotel only charged us for our 1 night stay, no fees or penalties for having to cancel late and leave early. They made the experience (which was already stressful) pleasant and easy. I would recommend this Hotel based on that alone. BEST PLACE WE'VE EVER STAYED.

Aldo (8/5): - The hotel was not business friendly. There was no place for our team to set-up and do work on our laptops. A coffee shop that opened early would have been great. We ended up going to the Marriott to use their amenities. However, that's just a comment on the amenities available. The room and staff were great! Same goes for the bar downstairs.

Alicia (8/5): KC Bday - Partner and I were in KC on a quick birthday getaway and enjoyed its proximity to other attractions and restaurants. The bellhops and valet workers were not interactive or welcoming but the clerks at the desk were always friendly and engaging.

Selina (6/5): - My husband and I stayed there the night after we got married before we headed out on our honeymoon. We were excited to stay there on our wedding night as we had taken a staycation there early on in our relationship. During our staycation we mentioned that it was our anniversary and they wrote us a nice note and gave us some drink coupons for the savoy. I mentioned when booking that we would be staying there for our wedding night and there was no acknowledgment whatsoever. The hotel used to be 21c museum hotel which had galleries of art and was very alive. We were disappointed with many things. At check in and check out no one was at the desk. We waited there for a while until I said excuse me is anyone there? A staff member came out from behind a wall and hastily gave us a key. When we returned our keys it was much of the same. The hotel is no longer warm and welcoming. I don’t know if it’s just the recent transition or what, but we had an excellent experience before and not so much this time. Not sure that we will want to book again.
Heather (10/5): - The location was good and we were able to park close by for free. What set this place apart was how incredibly comfortable the room was! The beds, the toiletries were really nice, and the robes were amazing! I felt like I was at a spa. Would have loved to stay another day!

Caroline (8/5): - This is an old hotel with some history that has been rennovated and now owned by Hilton. The best thing about the hotel is the restaurant and restaurant staff. We ate dinner and breakfast there and hate nightcaps at the bar. Food and service were wonderful. As far as the hotel and our room, it was nice and clean, but there was a half empty bottle of water in the room (guests get 2 bottles of water complimentary). So we had 1 unopened bottle and 1 that had been opened before we arrived. THe lobby area was stark and not very welcoming. It had the look of possibly still under rennovation. I would stay there again, but would not be my first choice.
Carl (10/5): - My wife and I have stayed at this hotel several times and have always enjoyed it. Everyone from the bellhops , the counter staff, and the cleaning crew are always so kind and friendly. They really make our stays a great time. The hotel, in its entirety is always clean and well kept. The rooms are very nice and have the most comfortable beds and linens. We have never had any issues with things such as the AC, appliances, WiFi, or bathroom. Everything is just always working as they should. We just really love this hotel. If I ever had to live in a hotel, this would be the one. Thanks to everyone involved in the daily operations for making our weekend in Kansas City a great experience.

Amanda (8/5): Tasteful piece of history. Thoughtful touches made it a great stay. - Quiet. So quiet. Could not hear one other sound or city noise. Tasteful decor, extra thoughtful features in rooms like robes and vanity kits, shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash, a lighted vanity mirror, workspace, a couch. The TV had a personalized greeting with my name and made my room welcome pleasant. Truly appreciated all those things. Bed was not up to par. Not very comfortable and the waterproof cover made a crinkle sound any time you turn over or moved.

Frank (10/5): - Great location. Near the free streetcar that will take you to the city market on the the north end of the line to Union Station and Crown Center on the other end (beginning in a couple of months it will reach the Plaza). Great eats at the hotel and in the area, The hotel itself is clean and comfortable. Dine at the Savoy Grill - if you can, sit in the same booth Harry Truman used to use when he ate at the Savoy.
Nancy (8/5): - It was a nice historic building. The restaurant was very nice, good service and delicious food! The area is a downtown area which some people may like but not my thing. It is easy walking distance to the convention center. Parking was in a parking garage across the street - close and I had no trouble finding a spot. They were a little slow to answer texts (communication to the front desk) and the password for the wifi didn't work. The room was nice and it was very quiet.

Matthew (6/5): - While the hotel carries a historic presence, it unfortunately falls short on charm. We booked the corner suite expecting great views, but quickly realized they were limited. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the valet attendant. During our 4-night stay, I interacted with at least three different valet staff members, all of whom were consistently courteous and professional. However, the cost of valet was surprising—$39 per night—with no alternative options provided by the hotel. For Kansas City, this felt excessive. Pro tip: there’s a lot directly across the street for $10 per night, and street parking around the corner is free on weekends. Inside the hotel, the first thing that struck us was the overwhelming scent of cleaning solution—not exactly a welcoming atmosphere. At the front desk, two of the three attendants were warm and helpful, and check-in itself was simple and efficient. Some conveniences were hit-or-miss. The hotel doesn’t have ice machines, but delivers ice within minutes when requested. The drawback: the ice comes in sealed bags that don’t fit the provided bucket, leaving us to stash them in the sink each time—not exactly convenient. They also offer complimentary reusable aluminum water bottles, which is a nice touch, but the water filling station was out of order. Overall, the staff we encountered were kind and attentive, but the hotel’s amenities, upkeep, and pricing structure didn’t match expectations.

Jessica (8/5): - Within 10 min of walking to the convention center! The area was safe and not too too busy with traffic. The staff were kind and courteous. The room was clean. Not sure if it was because we had a short stay (2 nights, 3 days), but we did not have daily housekeeping, which didn't really bother us but definitely would inquire about it next time. Also, check in and check out was easy, and they were able to store our luggage pre-check in and post-check out.

Larry (6/5): Nice hotel but missing basics - The hotel itself was very nice as was the front desk attendant and the front door valet. What we didn't expect was the lack of amenities. There was not a microwave in the room nor was there a mini fridge. There were no vending machines, no ice machines. You had to go to the front desk and they would get you some ice in a plastic bag. But once you got back to your room there was no place to put it. No cups, nothing. I've just not had this experience before. As for the room, it was nice. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room had two large televisions. And the bathroom was large. Honestly, I can't say who the hotel is geared for.... With the lack of creature comforts in the room, I can say I wouldn't stay here again.

Carina (4/5): - I’m still waiting to hear from the manager who was supposed to be trying to make things right. We were in 3 rooms in 24 hours time. The first was filthy, the 2nd had no hot water, and the 3rd was a tiny accessory room that was all you had left, according to the staff. We also had no water to drink because the tiny box wasn’t stocked.
Anastasia (6/5): - We stayed in room 301. The air conditioner in the bedroom is very loud. The hotel staff couldn't move us, the hotel was full, but they called an engineer who said there was nothing they could do. Loud low frequency hum, impossible to sleep. We had to turn it off, we were lucky it was a cool night. When we checked out, the hotel staff sympathized with us and offered a 30% refund for the night, but so far we have not received any money.

Perry F (10/5): - Great modern hotel in a classic historic building. All the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The exercise room, restaurant and bar are top notch. Rooms are spacious, well apportioned with very comfortable beds. There is not a lot in the immediate area but the KC street car (free to ride) is a couple blocks away.

Diane (6/5): - Overall, the hotel was a pleasant stay. A few inconveniences were non-working fridge in unit and the AC was not working properly either. Make sure to park in the open parking lot on Central and 9th. The parking garages is more expensive and you have to pay each time you enter the garage.
Lubna (6/5): - I asked room service to come back a bit later as we were still in the room. They did not come back. I requested clean towels and coffee/ creamer refills for the next day TWICE in two separate phone calls hours apart. Nothing was sent. Rooms are nice and spacious, area is nice but not having clean towels is unacceptable.

WTH? - I was not informed of the resort credit. I only knew about it because of info Expedia sent. - Housekeeping knocked on my door at 7:30am. Way too early in the morning to disturb someone. Disappointing experience.
Elizabeth Christina (10/5): - This is a beautiful hotel within walking distance to many downtown sites. I loved the friendly service, the artistry and the gems I found whilst walking around the neighborhood. (Public Library, River Walk, Convention Center.) I would gladly stay there again.
Frangelique (9/5): Great for visiting downtown KC - Good location in downtown KC. Comfortable bed and spacious room. Very friendly reception by front desk employee. Close to free public transport system. Parking garage for self parking across the street. Nice historic restaurant in the building. Lack of water pressure in bathroom.
