- Phasha (10/5): - Everything.
- Noorunnisha (9/5): -
- Alistair (10/5): - Just wow. A beautiful lodge with so many different areas to relax and kuier. Game viewing from the deck was exceptional. The rooms are beautiful and the whole outdoor setting is not captured by the photos, this place is exceptional.
- Hazel (10/5): -
- Keagen (10/5): A great place to experience the bush in luxuary in a large group - Stunning property in a beautiful location.
Lots of spaces to relax in private or in groups.
The hosts were extremely tentative, great communication and friendly. Lighting in rooms and kitchen were a little lacking
- Heike Dörsam (8/5): -
- Oluf Erichsen (10/5): Excellent! Good spot! Good rest! - Game drives was exciting! Guide was good! Coffee mugs for first game drive was locked and really looked forward to our first morning coffee in the bush.
- Sally (5/5): - The lodge is in a beautiful setting and the overall design and layout of the property are very appealing. The covered verandah area provides a lovely space to spend time outdoors, and the location offers a peaceful bush experience. The accommodation itself is spacious and well suited to families in terms of layout. Unfortunately, our overall experience was significantly affected by how a damage deposit matter was handled after our stay.
We were travelling with an infant and toddler and had requested a cot in advance. On arrival, we were asked to configure the sleeping arrangements ourselves. In order to safely accommodate the cot and child mattress in the bedroom, we temporarily moved a leather ottoman onto the covered verandah area, which forms part of the main furnished guest living space.
Following heavy overnight rain on our final night, we were later informed after departure that the ottoman had been damaged and that the full damage deposit would be retained. We were surprised by this outcome, as the verandah appeared to be a fully roofed, furnished outdoor area intended for guest use, and no guidance had been provided regarding any restriction on moving small items of furniture or that the roof was structurally compromised.
We also noted the presence of bat droppings throughout the bedrooms of the property during our stay, which we raised as a hygiene concern at departure but this was dismissed by the owner as the reality of being “in the bush.” A rather disappointing response for an apparent 5 star lodge.
While we understand that damage can occur, we found the handling of the deposit and the lack of transparency at the time disappointing.

- Gabriela Johannes (10/5): Serene luxury! - We had a truly great stay at the Kruger Sunset Lodge. The staff was exceptional & the lodge is very well equipped for self catering. They went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed it.
- Yaakov (10/5): - We had an incredible three-night stay at Kruger Sunset Lodge and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The facilities are absolutely stunning—truly drop-dead gorgeous—and the layout is perfectly thought out. Everyone had their own private space while still feeling connected through the beautiful central communal area, which really brought us all together.
George is an absolute legend and helped make our stay so memorable. The staff were all incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our time there. We were also lucky enough to have some animals pass by during our stay, which was such an exciting and special experience.
We all had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Kruger Sunset Lodge to anyone looking for a memorable and beautifully run getaway.
- Phasha (10/5): - One of the very few places that have exceeded my expectations. Nothing.
- Mmathapelo (10/5): Magnificent. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The staff, owners. They are anazing. - Everything. This property is so refreshing. Very beautiful. I did not like the fact that our shower drainage was draining shower water very slow. It needs to be fixed. I was sharing a room with my colleague, i had to wait for almost 40 minutes before i could shower because the water was not draining fast.

- Robert (10/5): -
- Laone Gosego (7/5): Lovely getaway perfect for friendship reconnect - The property was luxuriously furnished and just a beautiful space all round offering different spaces to relax, eat, gather for games both inside and outside. The property has no TV and the guys had wanted to watch a rugby game. There were also no basic condiment's in the kitchen e.g salt, which we had taken for granted would be available, for international travelers, shopping for everything including salt became a bit inconvenient.
I also would not recommend the spa service option. Our experience was underwhelming.
- Ambroise (10/5): Sublime villa tout équipée proche du Kruger avec vue imprenable sur la savane - Tout absolument tout! Très luxueux, pièces immenses, vue sur la savane, très calme, fabuleux Rien tout était parfait
- MEERA (8/5): Beauitful home and location! - The home was beautiful, clean and well equipped. Each en suite room was spacious, the kitchen and entertainment area was beautifully decorated and comfortable. We could book private game drives with Loddy at an additional cost which wad nice. The place was cleaned every day which was a treat. The lodge overlooked the terrains with beautiful views. Entire lodge wad absolutely beautiful. Owners were very accommodating and flexible. The lighting in the entertainment area could have been better. For some reason you can hear everything in the rooms within the row including use of bathroom etc. We highly recommend you keep your valuables locked away. On the day of checkout the cleaners were cleaning from 9am so we almost felt like we needed to leave even though the owners granted a late checkout. We did not see much of the big 5 in the game reserve compared to what we saw at the kruger park. Please also note the game reserve charges an additional fee of R350 per car and R30 per person.
- Saud (10/5): Marvelous - From the very moment we arrived at Kruger Sunset Lodge, we were transported into a world of magic, comfort, and breathtaking natural beauty. Nestled in the heart of the wild, this sanctuary became more than just a destination—it became a memory that our family will cherish for a lifetime.
Each sunrise greeted us with golden light dancing over the savanna, and each sunset wrapped us in a warm, dreamlike embrace. The sounds of nature, the majesty of wildlife strolling past, and the exquisite tranquility of the surroundings created an atmosphere of peace and wonder that words can hardly capture.
But what truly elevated our experience into something extraordinary was the care, dedication, and grace of one remarkable individual—Lodrick, the lodge manager. His attention to detail, warm hospitality, and genuine passion for creating memorable moments turned our stay into something beyond exceptional.
A heartfelt thank you to Lodrick, who not only managed every aspect of our stay with excellence but personally took us on a spectacular safari game drive—an experience that left us in awe. With his expert guidance and deep knowledge of the bush, we felt completely safe and at ease, even as we ventured into the wild. Thanks to him, we had the unforgettable thrill of seeing four of the Big Five animals in their natural habitat, a breathtaking moment our family will never forget.
Lodrick, you are the heart of Kruger Sunset Lodge, and your kindness and leadership made us feel not like guests, but like treasured members of the Kruger family.
Kruger Sunset Lodge, thank you for gifting us this once-in-a-lifetime journey. And to you, dear Lodrick—thank you for making it magical, meaningful, and truly unforgettable.
- Khathutshelo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leandi (9/5): An Unforgettable Stay Surrounded by Beauty and Warmth - We had an unforgettable experience celebrating my father’s 70th birthday at this stunning lodge. The decor is luxurious, and the peaceful surroundings made for a perfect getaway. Special thanks to Loddy for his exceptional hospitality and to Bonnie and Caroline for keeping the place spotless. Waking up and falling asleep to the distant roar of a lion was truly amazing. Highly recommend!
- Graham (10/5): Exceptional -
- Veronica (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing experienced. Everything was perfect!
- Refilwe (7/5): Beautiful setting that needs attention to uphold the standard - The place is exactly as it looks in the pictures. Beautiful setting up comfortable beds. Enjoyed visits from wild animals from the comfort of the place. Ice machine was very handy. Easy check in, expect the conservation levies. Awesome staff willing to assist and available. Interesting recycling initiatives on the property. One of the aircons didn't work and the heat was too much. The place needs attention on maintenance and utensils to keep it at a five star. We had to mix some table setting dinner sets and etc. Gas was not refilled and they only managed to refill a day before our departure. The pool as well had to be worked on prior to us swimming. Paid 150% of the fees 100% to bookings.com and 50% to the host tried to resolve it prior Checking in but didn't get the error rectified and still waiting.
- Carlos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Taha (10/5): Incredible lodge. Truly breathtaking decor and experience. -
- Andre (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shane (10/5): Loddy took very good care of us during our stay and made sure we had a satisfactory game drive; we actually saw the BIG - We loved everything about the house.
- Anton (8/5): Very good -
- Oluwatomisin (8/5): Very good -
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (9/5): Superb - self catering
- Maphalle (9/5): We enjoyed ourselves all we need was there. Excellent property - The location was what i was expecting the place was clean and comfortable. Excellent property None
- Nokuthula (8/5): We had a great stay and really enjoyed ourselves. The two staff members were also great to deal with. - Nice and spacious house with quite a few lounges and patios to relax on 👌. The house has no electricity back up and we suffered long hours without electricity for quite a few times since load shedding was on stage 6, as a result we couldn’t even have a special birthday dinner that we had planned since we had load shedding from 19:00-23:00.
The air conditioners for room 2,3&5 need to be checked as they are very weak while the lodge is located in a very hot area.
- Milda (10/5): Perfect villa in amazing savana and wild nature surrounding. - Perfect villa in amazing savana and wild nature surrounding. Everything is perfect.
- Tee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Skye (9/5): Luxurious, exciting, private stay at Kruger Sunset Lodge - The best part of Sunset Lodge was our ranger Loddy. He was exceptional, from welcoming us on arrival to taking us on our game drives. In fact, all of the staff were wonderful.
The place is gorgeous and has an incredible view over the plains; we saw elephant, hippo, rhino and many antelope from the patio. The outdoors showers in each room were highlights, and the beds were very comfy. The rooms themselves are beautiful and decorated tastefully.
We loved the ponchos included on the game drives for you to borrow during your stay!
Lastly, the layout of the lodge guarantees privacy from your neighbours and you won't see or hear any other people besides those you're staying with. It would be nice to have some basic condiments such as cooking oil, salt, and pepper available at the lodge so as not to worry about packing them.
- Kate (9/5): We had a wonderful stay - good game drive, though we didn’t spot any cats during the game drive. We spotted a leopard wh - Fantastic location Not a like but a suggestion for interconnecting rooms for a family with young kids.
- Eliyahu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mickey (8/5): Beautiful place. Would recommend staying for longer. The game driver really good considering that we did not drive too f - Every room had its own bath, toilet, inside and outside shower. The communal area was beautiful including the pool deck and the fire boma area, although we did not utilise it boma. The cleanliness of the rooms was not all that great. The dinning area and kitchen has an ant problem. Other than that, great stay.
- Shandukani (10/5): Exceptional -
- Madibo (9/5): Excellent. The c - The property is beautiful and very private. Ideal for couples who wants a getaway and privacy Nothing
- Happiness (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house interior and exterior, bedroom specious and comfortable. The owner Garry is a wonderful host, he gave us recommendations on the activities that we wanted. I highly recommend this place. Hospitality was just okay, I think maybe because of communication skills
